For anyone not in Discord who was wondering about the UK node: It's been back working for a while now. It stopped responding at 01:35 UTC It revived at 03:00 UTC As before with AWS servers, I've been rather pissed off about their management of them (as usual this was an AWS problem) So I've created a new replacement UK server, with a different provider, that's been up and running for about an hour so far - just testing it's all OK. In a few hours, once I'm sure it's OK, I'll switch uk.kano.is to point to the new server. No one needs to do anything with their miner configurations, the name uk.kano.is will just be switched over to the new server. About an hour later I'll stop the old server and then anyone still connected to the old server will switch over to the new one. Mine on! Done - old server stopped at 08:54 UTC Everyone has already failed back to the new server now. Mine on!

Out of curiosity, for those of you who are trading crypto and reporting, are you using FIFO, LIFO or something else?

I don't trade crypto on an exchange or anything like that, but I've sold some BTC (e.g. buying miners) over the past year and will be reporting using FIFO.

That doesn't make sense. If they want taxes, it should be proportional to earnings. But is it even profitable to mine over there? Do you have cheap electricity?

Hey, can anyone help explain.......... I'm still trying to figure out why my workers are (and have been for weeks) rated as .061% of the block, but my Mining Rewards says I'm only .02% of new block , receiving .002622BTC....... (I've had my miners on here for months so the N should not be the problem) . Probably some complicated math? .....Thanks for any insight

That would be due to the transient hashrate from large failovers. It can go both ways.
We had a large failover that nearly quadrupled the pool hashrate for a while. So they take a large portion of the block.
They still have to ramp up to full reward but it appears to take less time because they have such a big effect on overall hashrate. It's nice when they nail a block or 2 while failing over as I see it like a bit of a bonus. While still fair based on submitted shares it can feel disheartening when they failover and don't find a block.
And yay block! Mine on

Theres are diffirent offers on electricity, wish some company sells cheap electricity on capital city area. Campus have free electricity, almost 80 dollars/24h now i live on rowhouse. Sorry i talk this often, but its reality on my life these years, Entrepreneur. Thats why im game a lot.

That "Block %" you see on the Workers page is a 1 hour average but the "Your %" on the rewards page is the average for all the shifts you have over the entire 5Nd that went into your payout for that block. If you watch closely, your "Block %" will drop sharply about an hour after the big boys failover to KanoPool...I've seen it on my own worker page. You can see how my "Your %" drops as the "Pool N Avg" went up over the past couple of blocks because of all of the failover hashrate. Because our 1 hour pool hashrate is currently 49PH my "Block %" is currently 1.023% which is way higher than my 5Nd average percentage of 0.35%. In a perfect what-if scenario, if our pool hashrate stayed at 49PH for another full 5Nd (~22 days) our block % on the Rewards page will match what is shown on our Workers page. Of course, the pool hashrate and our own hashrate always varies so that is an elusive goal!

Nice! Let's hope you find the next block! shoot I wish I would! hoping ramp up does not take as long as my ramp down took (over a month) Takes the same each way - 5Nd The time of 5Nd of course depends on the changing pool hash rate.
