In Deutschland on business, but wanted to say a few things. Guys/Gals, let's stay focused and continue logging the evidence of what is obvious regarding [what appears to be] an elaborate crypto scam. It is also critical to voice your concerns to the same entities Mt. GAW is claiming partnerships and/or association with. The latest of these entities is http://digitalchamber.org. Background: This organization was founded and is run by a smart woman (Ms. Boring) who has access to other influential people within the Bitcoin arena and general US financial regulation segment. Now that Mr. Garza is touting some form of contact with her organization and promoting some flavor of regulatory compliance because of this interaction, it needs to be addressed so Mr. Boring is kept updated on the facts as they are uncovered and presented here in addition to the authorities. Her contact info is on her web site here: http://digitalchamber.org/contact.htmlNext would be the merchant representative(s) handling the pseudo Visa card Mt. GAW will be offering in the coming days/weeks. As I am on a business trip, I do not have access to all my files, but many of you are more capable than me and have the resources to find out who that contact is specifically. Lastly, it has come to my attention that soon after I made a comment here about a small web chat that was being hosted last night by Mr. Garza and others online, someone went to that gathering and using my company letters (SGBE), appeared to present himself/herself as me. Please know that was NOT me and I take someone impersonating me as a personal attack. Even if the person stated some relevant things I agree with regarding Mr. Garza, some other items were not factual and that pro-GAW chat was not the appropriate place for it nor does it help what I am trying to do. If that person is here and reading this, please do not do that again. If that person is a GAW supporter just trying make me look bad; nice try. At any rate, again, let’s stay focused and spread the word regarding Mt. GAW’s short comings since that, in the end, will be the most effective way to educate the masses and further push the regulators who have already been lobbied to expedite their investigations. Scott-

So much hate on this thread. What the loyalist to bitcoin don't understand, is nobody outside of cryptos give a shit about bitcoin or about the blockchain decentralization.
Sorry to bust your bubble, but if someone can market and advertise, plus get get real business partnerships like GAW is trying to do, they will create demand like it or not. Will it work? Not sure, but they are trying. Do I think BTC will go away? NO. But I do see it taking a backseat if new cryptocurrencies that have either A. Innovation tech behind them, or B. Marketing, management, advertising and treated like a business, will take the lead.
It's evolving. Decentralization is something we all want, and I really hope that is in GAW's vision like they say, but you cannot stop the bill gates of the world trying to market something.
REALLY? did you just compare Josh Garza to Bill Gates. WOW!! My friend you are in for a rude awakening. Oh, and I used my spell checker to correct your spelling errors, might want to try it.

I wonder how much longer till they get ZenCloud back up? Apparently they accidentally disabled 2FA for all accounts, and people were also getting dumped into other people's accounts. How they managed to go live with these kinds of issues is mind blowing. Do they not test any of these updates before pushing it out live? I hope they realize, when GAW launches PayCoin they can't shutdown the blockchain if they botch an update. That is assuming a blockchain even exists?

for those interested in strategies:
so he cancelled the third option which is no upgrade. now you have to upgrade your Prime. (lol @upgrade).
is that even legal? say i don't want to jump in on that paycoin train wreck, he is forcing me to, giving me no choice.
apart from that:
while option 2 seems to be infinite wealth out of a $50 investment (God the amount of rubbish in this industry)
he seems to be begging for people to take it, providing them with incentives, and time pressure
like in please please don't take option 1 because that will mean i did not rip you off and i hate that
so what is a good strategy at the moment?

You have to remember there are some people writing this stuff to highlight the link. You have to play the game to spread the message without the post being taken down. This post may even be a double act..... very smart analysis. and someone is even posting a link to this thread here.

No more downvotes. That explains it.
Was wondering why the OP was still around.
Not only this, but look, someone disagreeing with the OP got banned @Aussie-Hasher said: @RaymondMiner yaaaaawwnnnn ... your a ______ Banned for Profanity. Odd things happening on HT. Hi, The OP had a very valid concern that they brought up, so I felt that it was fine to let the topic continue (I didnt lock it the first time), however, when someone calls someone else a w*nker, I banned, its one of the few rules that I actually enforce (and I rarely ban people, only four in my entire time being a moderator), I would prefer a free and open dialog between people, but we do have people that are younger reading the forum. Feel free to flame me or anything, I really dont mind - thats your personal right and I wont take that away from you. Animo Rootdud has said many things that can beat wanker and has attacked many posters having questions, nothing happened there, why?

I still cannot understand how he is permitted to continue with these deceptive marketing practices. I expect 99% reading this sales pitch expect they are buying a physical device. The whole sales pitch about buying our 'miner' with electricity costs built in and maintance and no need for wires and complicated setting etc. along with the ficticious picture of a physical device, how is this permissible in this day and age? It is like a used car sales man touting this wonder vehicle and if you act fast enough and pay cash we will throw in 4 wheels and an engine. Look at this beauty dodge impala our price even includes a steering wheel. Come on. This is the scummiest slimiest advertising ever: http://www.gawminers.com/pages/hashstakerHow many people buy it and it is not what they expect and then are sweet talked to keep it when finding out? Surely the FTC can examine this deception and make a declaration of sorts? That advertising of theirs is pure deceiving filth and it continues to go unabated. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1I think some complaints need to be lodged with the FTC for good measure and to ensure newbs and oldsters don't get tricked into his further schemes.

Option 2 means you believe in the long term success of this whole PayCoin strategy. Now think back just a few weeks and how things changed since then. And that was just "miners", now we are talking about high yield CDs. Obviously option 2 is much more beneficial to GAW because it is a longer term liability for them, but it also requires enormous trust. Option 1 would cost them ~5 times more in the short term.

They attempted to release the updated site, it went bad it was reverted. Conversion will be free, and limited time option, so keep an eye on it if you want to do it. There are also two options for conversion. Don't be lazy, read up https://hashtalk.org/topic/21195

Its no different to a virtual server you pay hosting for. You don't get a physical server but you do get a service running on physical hardware. Its the same with virtual mining. The part i think gets him in trouble is the virtual service (miner) isn't actually mining the pool you tell it to. So technically you are buying an investment like a stock etc thats paying a dividend. You are getting btc returned but you aren't getting what is being advertised that you pay for.

I haven't looked to deep into this recently, but I think you may find that their TOS are much more carefully crafted these days. Back when they announced the first Hashlet it was touted as "proprietary hardware" and such, but they have backpedaled significantly since then. So for example the Hashstaker web page talks about mining hardware, but only as a contrast to this new innovative way of making money, which is a "staking wallet". Sleazy? Yes. Illegal? IANAL, but I wouldn't hold much hope for FTC to wrap their heads around the concept of a "staking wallet".
