This IS the type of thing that Lamestream Media might pick up on. Particularly regarding Stu Fraser's involvement in GAW.
HA! Stu's charity was probably the recipient of at least $80k of that $100k in donations as payback for his loan, only through his personal charity so he wouldn't have to pay taxes on it and GAW Miners could deduct taxes for it... |

To be specific, when we launched 911 Hashlets, we did not commitment about donating any money. They were all purchased under the assumption of it being a retail Hashlet.
It was not until after they were sold, we thought about it, and decided to donate the funds. At that time, I was told 10k worth of 911 Hashlets had been sold, and that's what we committed to donating to the 911 fund.
I later found out more were sold, so we decided to divide those up into other charities.

The charity thing is probably a legit mistake. I have a vague recollection of an email chain where he asked how many 911 hashlets were sold, someone told him the number, and he was like, "o shit."
Fraud has to be premeditated. Misappropriation is intentional. I don't think this was either. He probably botched the part of the system that was supposed to put a cap on the sales, and he probably had all sales money go into the same account as regular hashlet sales. By the time he realized that he sold too many, the money was spent, and all he had left was the $10k he actually did set aside for charity.
IF that were his only sin... meh... But, he has a complete pattern of making it up as he goes along and if he doesn't care to keep his technical house in order... that shouldn't be a valid defense. He's had months to get it straight and only made a donation AFTER it started to make noise on the Internet. So, I'm going with Occam's razor and saying he used the money for his data center move instead. |

Just for clarity and to end people's anger, it would be really good to confirm that GAW made $100K in cash donations to IRS qualified tax exempt charities... and that you are not just making a claim based on the transfers of GAW assets to related entities (Paycoin Foundation, Paybase, or transfers or Prime Controllers or paycoins to related entities).
I appreciate that, but I am ok with people not believing it. We did not do it to get credit.
Should we be contacted by any agency about it, we can provide the appropriate documentation.
The last thing I want to do is put these charities on the end of these trolls by naming them all.
I understand you not wanting to subject a bunch of charities to crazy people calling and e-mailing them. Got that. I was really just asking to confirm that the money went as cash donations to IRS qualified tax exempt charities, and that you are not counting (for example) transferring Prime Controllers to the Paycoin Foundation, or Paycoins to Paycoin LLC. I mean, the promise was that all of the proceeds (which were cash since you don't take XPY) went to the charity you named. At the very least, all of the cash proceeds should have gone to a legitimate charity, in cash, I will take you word for it, but I am asking that you make it very clear here.

I'm sorry but the law does not care if your mistake is "legit" But i think you know this too. Actually, it does. Fraud requires intent, as does illegal misappropriation. To clarify, this is fraud in the way that all hashlet sales are fraudulent, but I don't see the evidence that he intended to defraud a charity. I don't think there's any additional fraud going on beyond what occurs during an ordinary hashlet sale. I think it's a fuck up followed by an ugly resistance to make up the difference. There were a lot of really incompetent people making a lot of poor decisions (like the entire concept of Paycoin) and making a lot of mistakes. This smells like a fuck up. |

Even if I would want to help PayCoin directly, for the most part I can't/won't because of moral reasons and for me it's much better to work on PayCon. They asked me if I wanted to help them with the original roadmap, I asked them if they wanted to outlay some of the ideas on PayCon instead.
Wasn't suggesting collaboration, just giving a technical hand following request as you already did. |

It would be interesting to hear from Joe, a. How did he convince the power company to keep the power on so long and not pay their bill? At home they shut mine off after 15 days late. b. How did he ever come to be involved in with Josh in a small town far from Connecticut? Why didn't he do his homework before he took the job? Maybe he did? I don't know the answer. c.
