Then the mom overspent her paycheck thinking there was more money for her to use than there actually was. So the charity is owed $10,000, but that $10,000 doesn't exist anymore. Who's at fault? The kids who put it in the same wallet? I imagine that would be some kind of accounting negligence. The mom who overspent (Josh)? It would be hard to show that she knew that some of the money in her wallet had already been promised to charity.

A person with ethics would make up the difference, but is it a crime not to?
