Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

really happy about cryptopia very DO-able (give it about 8 weeks but it will happen) C-cex is still a target too! PROBLEM we can't fork TALK to something better (or at least it makes it such more difficult) no worries TALK will continue on as a 'wildcard' old code POS, no hardforks, but likely to have a dev do their best to softfork some improvements. In the meantime a TALK squared project can evolve ... will be a snapshot minus the deadwood ... so you will need to register an address (aka be an active member) ... then the next level project moves forward with only participants who helped over the last 2 years ... thus accounts not moved in the last 500days (out) ... so TLDR; eventually 2 coins (no rush .. just food for thought)

quote of the day "persistence, which is one of the essential herbs & spices" I'm gonna have to part company with you on this one. Landomata is the fellow who put together NXTTY, so it's not a cloning: it's a rebranding. His pivot to Newbium is essentially a business decision. NXTTY started off okay but never took off; evidently Lando decided that it was futile to offer a chat app that tried to be all things to all people. Newbium is being designed to cater to a niche (crypto speculators.) That's the way I see it, anyway. I agree with Nxtblg here, NXTTY might not have taken off but it *could* have (still might, aren't DARPA looking for a anon chat app now?), it wasn't a scam, and Landomata has been around for a while and showed persistence, which is one of the essential herbs & spices needed in any successful start-up. Rarely does the first iteration of an idea hit the jackpot

Quote of the Day
"Signaling theory says that if you have a good way to prove something and you have a noisy way to do it, then the reaosn why you picked the noisy way was because you couldn't do it the good way in the first place." -- that ETH guy

Quote of the Day The 1 million "Satoshi owned" bitcoins have been priced in by the market to stay put forever. Craig "Satoshi" Wright said he was going to move them, what are your opinions what would happen to altcoins prices if he stands by his word?
If it tanks BTC, I will actually buy a bunch of BTC and immediately buy my favorite ALTS with it, since it will decrease their price verses FIAT. But I have more faith in my favorite Alt than BTC , no matter what happens with Wright. WikiLeaks on Twitter: "We'd like to thank #Satoshi hoaxer Dr Craig Wright for showing how bankrupt the fact-checking standards are at the BBC, LRB & Economist."

another Quote of the day But gold has a utility that crypto-currency doesn't have
I appreciate an appreciating asset as much as the next guy, but I tend to evaluate things with somewhat of a transcendentalist approach: "Transcendentalists believed that society and its institutions ultimately corrupted the purity of the individual, and had faith that people are at their best when truly "self-reliant" and independent." Both Bitcoin and gold have value in that department, but it's difficult for someone to build and guard their own gold vault all day. You need a way to store wealth that still allows you to function and be somewhat nimble. Using Bitcoin in this approach, you're effectively a rogue proletariat benefitting from the collective technological and verification upkeep burden, of the vertically integrated civilization you've opted out of (I'm sure Anonymint will derive some sort of claim Bitcoin is doomed from this sentence). Which brings us to: It'd appear I'm splitting hairs, but gold is better in dealing with devaluation, rather than inflation.
Definitely the largest semantics argument I've ever seen presented, but yea.

As for Staisybit, they are scammers and held my coins and I lost coins so NO we are not working together. Hey, now we can all call each other scammers, neat.
these services were getting attention fall 2015 it was an interesting concept but contained a moral hazard (in entrusting your private keys into the hands of another) looks like none of the POS POOL projects are ending well https://staisybit.com CAUTION RED level (website was down for extended period of time) https://stakeminers.com 99% certain a scam op based on neg. noise signals https://stakeminers.com/transactions.phphttps://www.coinwallet.co (already closed) /to be fair afaik all coins were withdraw-able and fair notice of shut down given http://steakcloud.com/cloud-staking.html (payout issues?) amber/mint/apex/sprouts

SCAM ALERT It has come to my attention that a number of circulated currencies are in fact privately issued dimensionless tokens, that is, scams of the most blatant nature.
Some affected currencies: USD, CNY, EUR, JPY, GBP, ...
NOT ONLY are these coins significantly premined, but developers and hackers CONTINUE TO ISSUE THESE TOKENS IN PRIVATE.
I repeat, there is nothing at all to stop developers and hackers from issuing these tokens to themselves IN ANY QUANTITY AT ANY TIME.
And further, there is no way for us to know how many are thusly issued!!
Wow. Talk about scammy, eh? No other coin in this forum is such a blatant scam as that. But wait, it gets worse:
1) No transactions are ever publicly confirmed! That's right, there is no public transaction record. Block time is effectively infinity.
2) Significant association of these currencies exists with criminality of all the worst types from pedophilia to terrorism
3) Completely unregulated money supply, no public oversight is possible.
4) Proceeds from the private issuance of these tokens and selling them to unsuspecting public has been used in the most atrocious and wasteful activities in history from massive environmental destruction to warfare.
Be advised: participation in such a scam as this is unlikely to be forgiven. Spread the word and be vigilant to avoid any contact with these tokens.

176.31.13.198:35691 up since 30 March 2016 nice Don't recall where the post was about the 500 ✪ BϾϾ ✪ from the Poloniex give a way many moons ago, but did try to send it to BN & not seeing it just motionless in space. I'll have to search for that post, if it was a keeper of the rest & not deleted to keep from becoming Hero or Legend (post count stats = Total time logged in: 70 days //after today). Here's the image of testing the withdrawal to BN, looking like no luck of the tx going through //not sure if 500 would even be worth it, but love testing & repairing / building the futures to be or not to be Edit: Found it // # 17th post of this thread

BTC Speculation ... June/Summer Bitcoin is going to $600+ soon before/after the reward halving. Its just inevitable (if there are no some bad news in the world of digital currencies). My concerns are about other coins/assets, which eventually will be dumped from the people who will follow BTC's uptrend...
I seriously doubt a sharp increase will happen. I have friends who had no idea what BTC was weeks ago investing a bunch of money in it anticipating the price to double. So many people expect the price to double that I doubt that it will happen. And of course the biggest miners very likely stockpiled a shitton of BTC also expecting the price to rise a lot (if not double). On one hand I hope I'm wrong but on another hand radical price changes alone are getting in the way of adoption - a lot of people want nothing to do with a coin that's price is so volatile. You forgot few things: 1. Hashrate is controlled by the chinese. 2. Their largest mining farms made ROI long time ago. 3. Bitcoin's lower (than "expected") price just don't suits them. 4. They have a lot of money so they can wait. 5. Reward halves. 6. Speculation...
