WOW! over 350 mhps on r9-280x but runs too hot 100 o+ what arguements to control I, mem and core? What options? I'm pretty sure it's a work-in-progress... only thing i changed in the .cmd was the addresses, running in win7, fresh format/install, no sp1 (yet), power is undervolted slightly. i'm using the new beta driver (15.3) and 2.9 sdk. is there a throttle? brakes? >>>edit 4 hrs> i quit the other gpu and now running ok, i see the i/o from 230 - 420 mhps. doing 389 right now, 78 o

so the smolter displays the sum of all your gpus.
I'm testing it on Nicehash and getting a lot of discarding stale work and NONCE overflows and a few Error 23: Share above target

I guess you turned on debug output with -D option. Stale work is supposed to be replaced with fresh one, the more NONCE overflow messages the better is the speed WOW! over 350 mhps on r9-280x but runs too hot 100 o+ what arguements to control I, mem and core? The best settings for 280x already are in cmd file, with reasonable overclocking (1150) I get 540 MH/s. There is no options for changing clock, use external tools (AMD control center or afterburner)

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

I think it will be a little longer than 2 hours. Err, no it won't, forgot about PoS blocks.

Just heard how Nicehash stopped responding - the fans stopped too Nicehash is OK now, pool switching got a boost in my TODO list, while it's not ready it's better to use some stratum proxy with pool balancing. I guess Pfool's one will do the job.

with 270 ~265 270 is exactly the same as 270X, just binned lower - so I guess smolen was right. Weird that I'm still so much faster on 270.. 310MH/s at 1123MHz. 280x is about same speed as you or smolen, 510MH/s at 1150MH/s. My miner is full sgminer with all algos working, works fine with multi-algo in nicehash.

That's not weird, that's good - at least, for Vanillacoin The released kernel (exactly same binary) is getting 543MH/s with 280x, 4 threads, worksize 64, core 1150, mem 500 on Linux. I got last few MH/s by using more registers, perhaps it was wrong optimization for other cards. Old kernel is somewhere in archives, good occasion to implement --kernel switch and release it.

Wiht smelter I have near 1000 MH/s with two 7970:) but with four 7950 my h/r is near 800 MH/s. Maybe it's because on my 2nd rig weak cpu (Celeron 420). Smelter load 80% and gpus load only 53%.

Same with me, my semperon single core gets 100% cpu load and about 400MH for 280x as opposed to 500MH on stronger cpu rig with smelter.

that's normal: all the faster whirlpoolx miners use cpu to precompute part of the hash, see the public wolf miner for details. on a side note, I measured a system running both with a supercheap sempron and a powerful fx: exactly the same idle power consumption, so no reason to make sempron rigs.

Don't worry, I do read all the feedback. that's normal: all the faster whirlpoolx miners use cpu to precompute part of the hash, see the public wolf miner for details.
1 CPU precalculation per 2^32 (4 billion) hashes. CPU is wasted either in driver, or in Smelter. Well, with this 100% CPU bug in miner Vanillacoin looks like Bitcoin back in 2011
