Do we see any of the Chinese distributors actually shipping blades yet? Seems like people are leaving ASIC to buy into the AMC rage thats going on. Could pick up some shares on the cheap. Likely to see a few weeks of huge divs.

No, the Chinese distributors do not have the new blades yet, they are just pre-selling them.

Well it will be interesting if their EASIC contract appears and exists then they get a promotion from their current status to speculative investment grade although I don't think the price will be linear he-he makes for fun speculation on an otherwise peaceful after Friedcat ANN week Smiley

...
If AM and Avalon have brought online about 60 Th/s each, then where is the other 195 Th/s coming from?

...
You certainly are a rising star in market analysis.

Actually,...Avalon will have shipped at least 100 Th/s.

BFL might be extremely late in shipping and have lots of back orders, but they are capable of shipping huge amounts of hashing power .. the obvious and logical conclusion is that the majority of that hashing power must be down to BFL or there are players in the game we know nothing about.

I'd like to remind everyone that ASICMINER is the only operation (first movers) who "openly" admitted that they intent to use the hardware for self mining. This is one of the reasons why I started trusting them in the first place (!), because it's the natural outcome of a greedy environment. We don't have any data on what hidden orders or mining operations are fed by Avalon or BFL. I don't want to speculate here, but the picture which I would paint would not look nice.

Indeed, KnC has admitted that they will use (purchase) their own miners for personal mining use. They have not disclosed how many will be sold to employees/owners, nor what their hashrate intentions are so it makes for a somewhat competitive nature. I don't hold it against them and they have been honest about it, but I prefer the AM model where investors have the option of sharing in the profits or buying the hardware or both.

I wonder if the Intel CPU SHA extensions will have any effect on ASIC mining ?

On chip SHA2 extensions in the Intel CPU : http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-sha-extensions

Could be big news
I feel fairly confident saying that this will have no effect whatsoever on ASIC mining. The only purpose of these extensions is to reduce power consumption from SHA-2 hashing. That's it. There is no need - from Intel's perspective - to increase the speed of hashing in any way. The only operation that needs SHA-256 hashing faster than 10 MH/s (~5 Gbit/s) is Bitcoin mining, and Intel is not adding this extension for Bitcoin miners.

In any case, if these CPUs really were able to mine Bitcoins, buying a $500 computer (which fits one or, if you get a special motherboard, two CPUs) is like buying a house because it has the same doors as those in your own house, which need replacement. Or buying a new car with a tank full of gas because your own car is low on gas.

Nothing will ever beat dedicated ASICs.

Amoy bit about the pre-order announcement (July 30)
A new blade because there is little problem to be solved, the factory is temporarily unable to meet delivery schedules, new blade shipments will continue to be delayed.
Two previous pre-orders shipped on schedule, but the product to use 12.8G blade replacement (new unopened just from the factory assembly line), can stabilize around overclocked to 12.8G, voltage and good heat dissipation can be close to 13G. (New blade can not be overclocked)
In addition, in order to repay customers and compensation reserve, price 3BTC, which is 15.88BTC / Taiwan, has been booked all customers will put extra part BTC returned the same day shipment, please contact the respective purchase agent.
3 blade presale stopped, and later no longer pre-sale. (In fact, does not agree with the pre-baked cat is entirely agent behavior

Just some point:
First of all,the pre-order is rockxie's idea.And,he won't do it any more.Never.Ever.
Second, the New&Mini blade still have some problems to be solved. So,more delays. Can't tell the ETA.
Third, the pre-order will be replace by the old blade. Or,refund.

While we appreciate his ambitions and intent, it's good that it'll stop. ASICMiner is the only company (as of now) that can take payment and ship in a timely manner. Don't want to get into the sinkholes of "other mining companies."

Indeed, that was really stupid. There is no point to get money in advance if you don't absolutely need this money in order to finish the products. It just brings some risk to look bad, which actually happens now. I hope people will not confuse AM reliability with rockxie's one, even if I doubt it, sadly.  Angry

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

http://ttbit.sinaapp.com/t/41

9 承诺:我们再也不他妈的搞预售了。。。。。 Cry

From the link given, doing my translation
1. new blade still has some issues, the factory cannot deliver on time
2. pre-orders will be filled with 10G old blade (brand new, un-opened, fresh off the production line), stable when OC to 12.G.  With good voltage and cooling, it can run at 13G (new blade cannot be OC)
to compensate, there will be a rebate of 3 BTC, rebate will be paid out when machines are mailed
3. no more blade pre-sale, and we will never do it again (friedcat does not agree with the pre-sale, it's distributor's own decision)
4. the substitute blades will be same as the old blades, with mature process, but does not come with power-supply or fan, buyer are responsible for those, for info, contact your distributor
5. there's quota for those with 5G mini-blade order to switch to 12.8G blades (I suppose this is the old blade).  Buyer can request refunds.  Please contact your distributor
6. no ETA or price to the new blades
7. pre-orders will be sent by Aug 3
8. for better after-sale support, only buy from licensed distributor
9. Promise: We'll never have another fxxxing pre-sale

Friedcat never did pre-orders, it's the distributor that did them, so no need to thank FC, he didn't do anything.
