it's .2 W/GH, not J/GH

Actually, it's Watt per Gigahash per second. And since Watt is also known as Joule per second, you can cancel the s in the fraction, and you are left with J/GH.

Clear?

Was this FC prepping to buy Gen3?

so Gen2 is skipped?
I'd also be very interested to hear the answer to this.

It's frustrating seeing responses which indicate that all the questions in this thread are being read, yet ignored.

Yes, it was skipped. FC mentioned this in the past. Apparently the performance wasn't as good as they hoped and they just decided to move on... probably a good move.

According to friedcat Gen2 is not worthwhile for 2 reasons:
1) Gen2 would come out relatively late due to some factors outside of AM's control
2) Gen3 shows promising results and the roll-out seems to be better/more reliably organized

Thus funds are better to be spent on Gen3 hardware. The production schedule will depend on a risk/reward ratio determined by friedcat. Deviations from the schedule need to be anticipated when rolling out a new product technology, so hedge accordingly when speculating on AM.

That is amazing performance... and I'm glad it's taping out so fast. I'm glad gen2 was skipped and we have a competitive offering so soon in early next year.

Even more important is that friedcat is the only one with the infrastructure that can mass-produce hardware at an enormous scale. Nobody has the supply chain he has.

Hmmm may I ask you, how you know this?

Hmmm how you know this?

Bitfountain has almost a year of manufacturing/shipping experience in Shenzhen, *the* capital of at-scale production of electronics in China and the world. And I know from friedcat's earliest intentions that he wanted to leverage every partner he could find. I'm sure his gen3 is going to be competitive at least for a little while, so I'm glad I have shares to sit on. Good luck to you friedcat.

This is the kind of update I've been waiting for.

<.2W/Gh, <.2$/G, immersion cooling allowing high-density & lower costs, turn-key container datacenter solutions... Damn, if this all comes together as planned the AM future looks bright!

just want to make sure I get it right, so taping out means the design was sent to factory to cook the chip, contract signed, money paid ?

Pretty sure taping out means the chips are done. ICs are usually sold and transported in tape and reel packaging.

Or it could be never. Or all life on earth could be obliterated on News Years.

Seriously, Tapeout is a huge deal. It costs an unbelievable amount of money and effort to get there. It is possible FC could start reclaiming global hash percentages in March. A million years in the bitcoin universe to be sure. But obviously not something one can do in a few weeks. It takes a ton of planning and effort to be able to stand up in March and proclaim "we have 15% of the global hash" especially after everyone else has deployed the best that they have.

G.ASICMINER
If nothing unexpected happens, Ukyo will provide a shareholder list to Friedcat on Dec 1, for direct shares.

Hey, does anyone know what does this mean?
