Can someone from Synereo explain more in detail how they are a better DAO than the DAO. Well The DAO is screwed but still some explaination from the team would be awesome.

One of the important aspects of Synereo's ecosystem is that it contains distributed reputation.

Formally verified protocols are the equivalent to mathematics in physics.  Creative experimentalists can discover new phenomena, and equally creative engineers can design tools & machines to take advantage of them.  But it is the mathematical proofs that drive new theories to be accepted as "predictably correct".  Programmers can likewise create code that 'works' for feature A, while causing unpredicted problems in B, and C.  Or, they can work from fundamental, computationally correct methods, and produce features, as well as secondary consequences, that are known in advance.

Nothing exists yet so there is nothing to expand on. The idea they are pursuing is to use functional programming to build the server. Functional programming is how math works. This allows you to program mathematical "laws" with computers. This is what people mean when they say "formally verified" smart contracts.

The concept of a smart contract seems to be entwined with blockchain technology these days. But unlike what happened to The DAO – with their flawed smart contract technology – Synereo is doing things differently. Social contracts, as this technology is called, allow for stating and enforcing an information flow policy. Moreover, the usage of properties allows agents to ensure the information flow fits the goals of the group. More details as to how this technology works can be found in the Synereo whitepaper.

If The DAO had used proper smart contract technology – such as the one provided by Synereo – the recent attack could have been prevented. At the same time, this technology is still in the very early stages. There is still a lot of education to be done on blockchain and smart contracts; that much is certain.

Difficult to join?  It sounds like you mean "speculate".  Yes, right now, most of the people who have AMPs are the ones who were brave and took a little extra risk last year in the initial release.  That's fair, and a sound economic principle.  No one is selling them now; the casual crypto buyers have sold theirs, and left people who understand Synereo's potential for great value owning the rest.

Anyway, you can join our slack channel, our live weekly hangout, as well as 2 fireside chats per week by the community.  We have a publicly open blog, forum, and web page.  You can participate in setting up test Nodes.  There's a Movement behind this community, and it began for each of us in the past, and Synereo brings hope back to the table for a variety of reasons.

The formal methodology exists throughout the whole Synereo tech stack (this is why we must build our own blockchain - so that we get the same high standards).



The foundation of this has been in commercial use for over 4 years.  KDVB w/Special-K is a distributed database, that replaces central servers.
 The content distribution system works directly from there.

You are right about what functional programming is.  You missed what it means: the formal groundwork is already done.  That is, the math already works - and that is straightforward to expand upon, including testing and verification.  With this in hand, you are not limited to "trial & error" of lessor methods being used throughout the blockchain/crypto community.

There is a lot of work to be done though, and testing will uncover the need for revisions.  However, this is all well past the "idea" phase!

The DAO was flawed from the start. I do agree that some human intervention needs to be included and the basis of our networks until we can gradually learn and deploy such DAO's.

The social network Distributed Application (DApp) is the first "in house" project of Synereo.

It's new (open source) software to power an alternative to the existing internet protocols; a way to transfer, store, and distribute information, both on-, and off-blockchain, in a P2P basis (decentralized and distributed).

It also has its own cryptocurrency, which will power an attention economy, and the distributed ledger can make secure & transparent records.  So a DAO, or DCO (Distributed Collaborative Organization) can be easily built as an App that works on this platform, and in an emergent social ecosphere.
