1001  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto news feed on: August 03, 2023, 11:33:44 AM
This is not supposed to happen, all the data that is collected is from sources available to all, and I do not think that the site is banned in your country, there is no page for privacy or terms of use to support my position, but it is wrong that there are restrictions according to the IP address.
It is also possible that OP uses a hosting website that blocks some IPs according to their blacklist. Sometimes they block regardless of what the user requests them, so it is possible that OP doesn't intend to block anyone although the chance is low since he can easily view it from his hosting control panel afaik. Kind of weird that using a VPN allows them to bypass the filter though, since most hosting would block VPN IPs most of the time.
1002  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ✅PSTNET – Trusted Virtual Crypto Cards⭐️Reloadable payment cardsⓂ️ Review copies on: August 02, 2023, 12:25:53 PM
PST.NET is a SCAM!!!
You can make a thread on the scam accusations board with proof of your case if you want to bring more attention to your case. You can also set a flag or provide a negative review since the service has an account on this forum. Keep in mind that most people will request some decent proof to support your flag/negative feedback. If your case is solid though, expect at least a few supports from some high-ranked members.
1003  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto news feed on: August 02, 2023, 12:08:40 PM
I used to work on a project like this in the past. I second the suggestion to allow users to try your features first before asking them to sign-up. You can make a guest option that is tied to the user's IP with limited access for example. If you're afraid of abuse then you can add a filter or something similar. It is hard to gain new users for tracker apps afaik. I've seen at least two projects with the same idea that failed recently, mostly due to a lack of features and low appeal for users. Giving them a trial might be able to solve it to some extent.
1004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Does anyone use OBWallet (OBAndroid)? on: August 02, 2023, 11:27:31 AM
So I am looking for a wallet where I could with one or two clicks have two channels opened to two different nodes, for better routing. All other wallets require quite complicated actions for such a configuration. OBWallet looks most promising. But it does not work as planned, yet.
I guess you can make a new thread asking for suggestions if you still don't find them in the near future. I'd suggest you avoid experimental wallets even if offers features that you need since it is very risky to use them. But I guess that's not a problem if you know what you're doing.

Btw, if two wallets or more have some trouble with rerouting nodes, maybe it was caused by the network condition and not the wallet itself? Unless both of them use the same source code with little to no changes.
1005  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CBDC in Russia on: August 02, 2023, 11:09:13 AM
which means all are just betting on the fact that it might be great alternative to fiat but actually it's no where better than fiat at any level.
I believe it is a matter of infrastructure building. If they managed to build a solid network that is not prone to hacking and is easy to use, they will likely pivot to it as soon as possible since it offers better control over their fiat transactions.

They had no option than to invest in the blockchain but in a highly centralized way. The dilemma is tagging crypto illegal and creating a copy of the illegal  and calling it legal.
I mean that should be expected. The government's main goal is to control the economy. I don't see why they will shy away to copy any new tech even if it was used by something that they deemed illegal. Some of them even fund privacy technology, probably to add another point of control over their people.
1006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Crypto, The SEC Confirms on: August 02, 2023, 10:53:14 AM
I wonder what crypto actually means for different people. It seems like the writer, the SEC, communities, and so on have different interpretations, allowing them to frame what SEC did according to their point of view. One of the implicit assumptions is that crypto is security as mentioned above, where does this idea come from? I always thought crypto was just a digital asset that used cryptography to secure its blocks. It looks like there is a new narrative that aims to lump crypto and security together from its definition.
1007  Local / Topik Lainnya / Re: Elon Musk Rebranding Nama "Twitter" menjadi "X" on: August 01, 2023, 07:00:10 AM
CMIIW.
1009  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [DISKUSI] Bagaimana Cara Mewariskan Wallet/Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2023, 06:00:19 AM
1010  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [INFO] Informasi Phishing, Malware, Virus Dst (WAJIB BACA) on: August 01, 2023, 05:42:24 AM

1011  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [ASK] Double Deposit Tokocrypto on: August 01, 2023, 05:32:32 AM
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Does anyone use OBWallet (OBAndroid)? on: July 30, 2023, 09:26:36 AM
I've searched the play store but the application called the wallet doesn't come out. In Google search, there are also no results when I enter the keyword name of the wallet you mean.
That is not surprising since the app is still in development. They'll probably list it after doing some beta tests if that ever comes. If you want to check them out see the link shared by OP and build the app yourself.

Yes, it’s really weird idea for a wallet to manage phone calls.
Maybe you can report it on their GitHub too. Who knows, maybe the app only meed the file access permission but it got mixed with phone calls management permission on the code. If they don't respond though, I believe it is better to leave it and use other apps.
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you use Bitcoin to pay everything online? on: July 30, 2023, 09:00:54 AM
You just came to the place and you want to buy from the hawker and zoom off, and you are to pay with bitcoin because there is no physical cash in your wallet/pocket/hands. And because of the delay in payment I was thinking that not everything we see can be purchased with bitcoin, is it true?
The smart choice would be to withdraw some cash from a nearby ATM and pay him, or just look for other vendors that accept Bitcoin if you really wanted to use your BTC to get some bananas. I don't think it is a big deal, at the end of the day you can't pay with crypto if the stores don't accept them.

Personally, I never use my BTC for daily necessities since I don't think it is worth the cost. But BTC is my go-to choice for international payments. I use BTC to pay for VPN, gaming top-ups, and stuff like that regularly. It is cheaper, faster, and allows me to decrease my personal data exposure compared to using a credit card or something similar. Would I like to pay for everything with BTC? Maybe in the future, but for now I see no reason to use my Bitcoin to buy a coffee.
1014  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CBDC in Russia on: July 30, 2023, 08:53:00 AM
I'm sure they will invest in digital infrastructure (fiber optics, mobile/satellite coverage).
If the condition is really that bad, I believe they should focus on that first. It should provide a good base to develop legal regulations if the infrastructures are great. On the other hand, maybe this is one of the reasons why they will limit it to city or other areas with good internet access.

During this period, will there be two financial systems, one digital and the other monetary?
Doesn't thing like this already exist with fiat right now? I'm referring to how people can pay with cash or use their phone to pay with digital wallet apps or PayPal.
1015  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buying property with crypto on: July 30, 2023, 08:16:26 AM
Here the problem is more in the legislation, and if something is tokenized, then most likely there will be additional protection methods that will not allow selling tokens from any wallet.
I do recall one of the projects asked me to fill out a KYC form and provide an ID plus wallet address to claim the tokenized assets. If you don't live in the US or Europe it is difficult to claim the tokens, and you literally have no one to rely on if you want to file a claim against them if your country doesn't even allow tokens and stuff like that. I don't think this thing will become mainstream in the near future for countries in Asia.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could invested assets be nullified by progressive gas fee after halving? on: July 30, 2023, 07:55:16 AM
Not to offend, you call ordinal madness. the stupidity or greed, let me ask? How does it contradict the idea of Bitcoin or any other asset? And last but not the least: could you please widen your fears for causes that we ordinary people commit from time to time? They are not exactly clear from your post and I really interested in your point of view.
I believe it refers to the hype people have for ordinal that makes them spam the network with ridiculous fees while they don't have any guarantee that their NTF will sell as much as their paid fee. As far as I'm aware, it has died down since people realize that they gamble too much without thinking about the feasibility. Some still try to mint their NFT but fees have become way cheaper. I believe they'll likely move on to layer 2 or other networks if they want to continue doing their thing sooner or later.
1017  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please who knows about localcoinswap on: July 29, 2023, 10:58:28 AM
TI was really confused  about the whole process and as for the Telegram, I got their Telegram  handle from their site and I had to ask the question in the Telegram group chat where someone slide in my telegram dm and claimed to be from the development department
If you visit the right website, you should be able to see a list of sellers or buyers right? I'd suggest trading with those with track records instead of newbies. You should be able to avoid most scammers who require you to contact them through other platforms with that. Most P2P platforms have built-in chat systems, to begin with.
1018  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Linux vs MacOS/Windows on: July 29, 2023, 09:34:51 AM
That is, are the electrum of the same version developed for Linux, Windows and MacOS identical. This is not about the security of the OS itself, but specifically about electrum.
As far as I'm aware, the source code is the same regardless of the OS that you use. You can also build and develop it on your own if you don't want to download the app file[1]. Also, they don't use wallet.dat[2] like Bitcoin core. You should be able to copy and paste the wallet file regardless of the OS. CMIIW.

1019  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buying property with crypto on: July 29, 2023, 09:23:39 AM
Ethereum and its competitors will be used to tokenize assets, and it may be easier to buy real estate in the future."
This reminds me of some altcoin projects I've followed in the past. They do similar things but in the end, failed. Some of them even run away and scam their users. Not really sure how to feel about tokenized assets, especially if most of them are overseas. Most smart contracts are hard to understand/verify and prone to hack too. I'd rather not buy them and stick with buying Bitcoin if an investment is my goal.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Does anyone use OBWallet (OBAndroid)? on: July 29, 2023, 08:39:54 AM
I installed their v0.1.5 APK and was surprised that they are asking for permissions to Manage your calls and access to all the media which doesn't seems right. Has anyone had the same experience?
I can see why they request media permission if they need to create or access some hidden folders or something similar, but phone call permission is suspicious as heck. If this is still present on their final build, I'd suggest not using them at all. I don't recall other apps requesting similar permissions just to create and open a wallet.
