1001  Economy / Speculation / Re: Zebpay reason for +1k$ USD Dump ( BTC ) Read here! on: June 24, 2018, 07:06:37 PM
I am fully agreed with @jseverson. Indian market is not so developed right now. So it will not affect the market hugely that may disturb the market

I also agree to this opinion. The average volume trade on the exchange mentioned here is about 30 BTC daily. After they announced this warning, the volume has raised to about 50 BTC. The same applies to other Indian exchanges and all the Indian investors are selling their holdings. Even if we combine all these, it is nothing compared to the volume traded daily all over the world. So this news has nothing to do with the recent drop in bitcoin price.
1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if we die? on: June 24, 2018, 06:55:05 PM
Unless someone knows about your Bitcoin investment or has access to your laptop or smart phone I don't think anyone is ever going to be able to get your Bitcoins. They are going to be lost forever like the hundreds of thousands of Bitcoins already lost. If you have a large amount invested then you should consider putting your private keys in your will.

Even if a person is having just small amount of bitcoins, he should disclose the details to at least family person.

If bitcoins survived for next 50-100 years, price will be at least a million per bitcoin and that will be huge money for future generations also. I was watching a video where a old person kept shares of a company and the 3rd generation cashed it for millions. At that time, shares were issued on paper in my country.
1003  Economy / Speculation / Re: the reason why bitcoin falls on: June 24, 2018, 06:53:08 PM
There are many theories revolving around this :

1) A recent hack on a big exchange. I do not agree with it as the volume traded was small there.

2) Indian exchanges panicking due to RBI ban date coming near. The date is coming near but volume traded there also is very small.

If we see trends in past years, this part of year has been like this only.
1004  Economy / Economics / Re: The panic seller irony on: June 17, 2018, 09:32:28 PM
Panic comes with in experience and this applies to all fields. Suppose you are going for an exam and you do not prepare or practice well. So, you will not be able to handle difficult questions and will also be able to manage your time properly. But if you have practised well, you will not panic. This applies to crypto as well. Those with experience will make better trading decisions.
1005  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recovering ? on: June 17, 2018, 09:28:22 PM
Many members are replying here with respect to current situation while the OP asked thus question for 2016. What should be an ideal reply in this case ? In my opinion this thread needs to be closed.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to pick best signature campaign on: June 16, 2018, 11:56:23 AM
I look at the number of participants and the duration of the campaign. Also, to focus on the idea and the project team

Duration of he campaign is something one should give most importance because:

1) If you are participating in a campaign which is running for few months and had paid all members, it a solid proof that it is a genuine project. A new project might be scam

2) Another benefit is that you are guaranteed a pay for longer time provided you meet all the requirements of the campaign and follow the forum rules.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe the crypto market will never take off! on: June 16, 2018, 11:44:54 AM
If you feel like this, you should make an exit. There is no point in just to keep thinking about all day without making any decision. So you can sell all your holding and then focus on something you are more confident on.

For me, I have invested only the amount that I can afford to loose. I believe that if an investor has some patience, he will never be in loss in crypto.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Crypto Currency? on: June 16, 2018, 11:41:14 AM
I just wanted to  know what are your plans on your cryptocurrency in the future?

Do you plan to keep on investing?
Do you plan to exchange your crypto in fiat and leave crypto?
Will crypto survive?

1) Yes, I plan to keep investing. I am late to this and would like to compensate this with future investments.

2) I will leave everything in crypto and I do not plan to sell any soon.

3) No one can answer this correctly but based on past trends and performance, it should do good.
1009  Economy / Speculation / Re: Selling bitcoin is a stupid decision ? on: June 16, 2018, 11:34:50 AM
Selling at dip as we have it now is a recipe to loss. Hold your coin to create scarcity in the market to enable price to go up in the market.

Selling at dip is something only new investors do. They think that if they do not sell now , they will have to face more loss. With experience, an investors realizes that price decrease is only temporary. It is bound to recover with time. Ideally, one should be buying at dips and selling when market recovers. This needs a lot of patience and observations skills though.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This market is unhealthy! on: June 16, 2018, 11:32:39 AM
Market is unhealthy or volatile because of a number of reasons:

1) You are right that the confidence of investors had been shaken. This happened after t dropped from $20 k to $7k in very less time.

2) Main problem in my opinion is that many investors are already stuck with their holdings which they bought at higher levels. They are looking o get rid of it as price recovers which then causes decrease in price.
1011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin go under regulation on: June 16, 2018, 11:30:49 AM
well it has already been regulated on a lot of countries all around the world, so i thinkt hat it would be normal to see it regulated on almost all the countries at the moment, but it will take some time

Yes, currently different countries have come with different regulations but it should be uniform in my opinion.

Just 10% difference in taxes can cause a big difference in returns especially for small investors. Some countries have got greedy and they want to exploit the craze of bitcoins among the people there. They are adding higher taxes to increase their own revenue.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How risky to invest in cryptocurrency? on: June 16, 2018, 11:28:35 AM
It depends on where you choose. If ICO, it must be risky. If you buy coins directly. So the risk of mainstream coins is relatively small. Especially when it's cheap. It is worth buying.

Yes, it depends on the coin you are investing. For instance, if you investing in coins like BTC or ETH, you are very much safe. But if you choose a new coin, there is more risk. Later approach also comes with chance for higher reward but I advise against it till you gain experience.

Some other factors also affect the risk involved like the current market condition. If you investing in very volatile market, you will have to wait longer.
1013  Other / Meta / Re: Is deleting and reusing posts allowed? on: June 16, 2018, 11:24:28 AM
What an interesting catch is this ? Finding such cases can be tricky and depends on following factors:

1) How  much time does it take for Google to de-index deleted content n this forum ?

2) One can still see those posts on wayback machine but it will be a lot of work. This will be impossible for staff to track all such cases using this site.

1014  Other / Meta / Re: Simple answer to getting rid of all the trash threads here on: June 16, 2018, 11:20:57 AM
This guy will immediately close bitcointalk tab and post on reddit. He will be answered in reddit immediately and will never come to bitcointalk again.

There are both merits and demerits to making restrictions for new users on nay platform. The staff has to make final decision after evaluating everything. Having a limit for new members like x number of posts a day (initially) is however sufficient for a genuine member in my opinion.
1015  Other / Meta / Re: merit and banned on: June 16, 2018, 11:18:26 AM
- The first; banned problem :I want to say should add the warning to the first offender + the reason for warning the wrong account that caused. Many uninfected users are offended in the forum and they are unreasonably banned. So there is an email about rules sent to new members.

I agree to this. For cases like posting a copied reply without giving reference to original case, the member should be sent a warning. If he repeats the mistake , he should be abnned. But for major abuse like sending all 50 smerits to an alt, one cannot give excuse that I did this once.

- The Second, merit: Many members do not understand how to achieving merits. It is important to establish a merit scoring system because it is quite complex and difficult to understand at the moment.

Can you be more clear on what aspects you are not able to understand ?
1016  Other / Meta / Re: Let's Ban Gambling Signatures/ Advertising on: June 16, 2018, 11:14:54 AM
Here on bitcointalk we should strive to be a place of integrity and high morals.  If we trade in our morals for the allure of money we are essentially scumbags.

A lot of young users will get drawn in by these evil sites like fortunejack, bitdice, etc.  We should  protect these newcomers and not expose them to gambling websites.

I will be starting a petition to ban all gambling advertising, gambling boards, and gambling discussion to be completely removed on bitcointalk.

Let's make this a safe place for new users and people with low IQ that don't understand odds and how the house will always win in the end.

Casinos are predatory by nature and are their sole mission is to extract as much money as they can from customers.

Banning improper advertising and campaigns might be sounding ethically correct but you also need to be practical. The admin has denied advertising slots in suspicious cases , so he is already doing everything possible.

Now coming back to gambling related projects, if the site is genuine it should not be a problem. I mean if the website starts cheating the players, then it is something worth removing. The campaigns you mentioned are running for years here without any such major complaints.
1017  Other / Meta / Re: Bring back the newbie jail with changes on: June 16, 2018, 11:11:33 AM
My suggestion is to remove bumping powers from newbies and potentially Jr. Members. This way they will be able to respond but it won't shoot threads up so no new accounts will be created for spam-promotion through spam-bumping. Currently such accounts are created faster than the mods can ban them.

Also introduce reCaptchas per each post for newbies. Because automated tools can easily beat time restrictions. Such posts are made much faster than the bots can delete them.

This is a good suggestion in my opinion. The preventive measures should not require personal intervention from staff as  it will  consumes a lot of time and is impractical. However, I am not in much favor of too much restrictions on new members because that may cause them to move to other platforms. There are spammers but we cannot punish all new members for this including members joining this forum with good intentions.
1018  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned for unknown reason, help needed. on: June 16, 2018, 11:08:53 AM
A ban is never without a reason. He would have got a message explaining the reason for the ban. And the account was a newbie account, so he can make a new account. But ask him to follow all the rules carefully this time.

Also, you should consider removing the Name of the person from the message if it is his real name. Can result in privacy related problems in future.

Edit : As per the information given by experienced members here, you are not allowed to make a new account in case of perma ban as per the forum rules.
1019  Other / Meta / Re: Security bounties on: June 16, 2018, 11:05:23 AM
Admin, I have a question regarding this :  1 XAU: Find the email address of user DefaultTrust and explain in detail how you did it.

If I am able to confirm the email from different possible email id for an account , is it acceptable ? Like confirming the email id of DefaultTrust from among possible 100 mail ids.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / What are some unique advantages of online gambling ? on: June 11, 2018, 05:20:00 PM
I will start with one to begin the discussion. If you are putting huge amounts at stake and want to keep identity private, online gamblign comes as a boon.
