Most of the accounts are registered after 2015
I never seen any stats. My one was just an assumption. No, frequent users do not use google to connect to the forum. Either they type the URL address or they use the bookmarked URL in their browser I used know a person who used to be my business partner in an online business. I have seen him never typing the address on the address bar, he was more comfortable to type on the google search box and then clicking the ad link to visit the site LOL I hardly believe the number of people using a weak password is so hight
I too like to believe that people use at-least a moderated password. The phishing links could be the highest possible reason we could think of.
But actually, I've set a secret question in my account before. I just forgot what's the answer Don't worry... follow this

There are few decentralized marketplace such as OpenBazaar and Decentraland Marketplace (which run on ETH), but it's not competitive at all since it's far from user friendly.
I never heard of any of them. May be they are lacking advertising as well. These projects are fairly new IMO. If they are doing good job then some day they will make it popular. Ebay/paypal did not build up in a day. They are in the market for long time. I wish those marketplaces do better job in time.

I have not taken any job from this team so far. Still haven't seen confirmation that they paid users from their old campaign
Considering they banned you from their forum, I'll apply to be their campaign manager. Just for the heck of it I doubt it's the real yahoo. I was exploring their site and figured out that the user can not be the real yahoo. Real yahoo is not going to bother to advertising some popup ads there for few cents LOL If you want a clean, spam-free signature campaign ( like this example), where participants are required to have earned Merit, I can be your guy. Needless to say, after the entire disaster with the campaign so far, I would require funds to be held by either myself or someone more trusted. You will make a good signature manager there besides yahoo. I was expressing my interest (with a trusted escrow who will hold the fund) but since I have red trust they said they can not hire me LOL. Poor me

saying its creator probably never imagined bitcoin's incentive structure would lead to industrial-scale mining pools. I kinda feel the same. Hashrate Distribution... Sometimes it scars me thinking if they plan for a 51% attack. All you need is a syndicating in between few big mining farms. I am not sure if is is possible practically.

Good job although I have no idea how clean the code is. The design can be improved too. By the way, there is already a plugin/theme exist in themeforest called "Kingdom - WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates Theme".
You may use that as an example for design. Good luck mate. I know the fun of creating something you like.

I have updated my last post with a reference from an Jr. Member's quote. The post was made no long ago. If you can (the new account) then it's really confusing now LOL
Update: Edit: Oh. Think I figured it out. I whitelisted the account before. That must have wiped the restriction.
Blow me I was literally pulling my hears. Now you are the reason for my hair lose. Allowing Juniors to vote on the poll is still going to be useless though since it directly involves them. Someone with an army of indefinite Junior Members could sway the results and I don't want it to look like the community thinks it's a bad idea (though maybe theymos could use the abuse votes as honey-trap for Junior farmers ). Absolutely! IMO, the minimum rank should be member rank. It takes time and effort to become a Member considering current situation. This way we can eliminate this Jr. farmers.

|
|
Didn't theymos a while back make it so that Juniors (or up to some other low-level member) couldn't vote on polls due to obvious abuse? Or was that just for a poll he personally created about a particular issue?
AFAIK one can only join a poll if s/he is minimum a member Jr. Member. It was done to prevent abuse from a newly created account. I will update this post with some reference soon. Previously, anyone could vote in polls. Now you must be at least a Jr. Member. This should make vote manipulation more difficult, though you should still not rely on forum polls for real accuracy.
This came in so suddenly. At least will there be an option to make a poll open to everyone in the future?
Why would you want to allow polls that can be easily manipulated? So yes, if this information is not outdated then one have to be at-least Jr. Member to join a poll.
I just used my hilarious* account to test (which is a Newbie) to vote on one of my own polls and it allowed me to do so.
How it's possible? I have seen (somewhere) a Jr. Member was saying he can not see the options of a poll, he was also talking about images as well.
update: PS: For some reason I can not vote on the poll. Is it another restriction for newbies?
I am sure we are missing something here.

AFAIK, the "Secret Question" actually locks your account. So I don't think it's one of the major reasons why many accounts are getting hacked.
Spot on! Secret Question account recovery just locks the account, it has nothing to do with account hack. I remember I was worried about Secret Question too since I heard that it can lock the account. I was looking for help here and there to know how to remove it so that I can feel safe. Then one day after following a post, I gave it a try to remove it and it worked. Since then I have no secret question attached with my account.

I do not blame you OP. You were exploring the wrong side of the planet. There are few boards which will make you think that this forum is full of spam. Among them Altcoin Discussion and Bitcoin Discussion are at the top. Try to avoid those boards, you will be fine.

The mod in politics & society is gay.

You should have use a trusted escrow. In lending business there are some people who come just to scam the collateral. I am sure that guy was one of them.
So this is the user: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1842282By the way, I do not see any conversation (only those on your OP) with the user. What Am I missing? You need to give enough evidence of the chat log. If I am not wrong then creating this topic was a response to Vod's suggestion... I have asked him to come address this. Can you please provide the chat logs and transaction ids in the Scam Accusations section?
Still you need solid evidence.

I saw many people's account are hacked any how.My question is how can anyone hack accounts? And how we can protect our accounts? I don't know if this topic should be written here but i really need these answer.
There was a database leak in 2015. My guess is most of these hacks are related to this database leak. You can also take consideration of the phishing sites. When you look for bitcoinTalk on google, it pulls up few phishing sites who wants the credentials of your bitcoinTalk account. So phishing sites are another way of getting hacks. On the forum people will PM you with phishing link. Once you visit the page it will tell you to login again in your BitcoinTalk account. Innocent, ignorant people types their credentials and give it away to the scammers. The reason all these happens is because, a bitcoinTalk account with a good rank worth good money. The account can be used to earn money from the signature campaigns. It's not much but for some people it is a handsome amount of money. Bottom line is: BitcoinTalk accounts get hacked because there are money in there.
Always use a strong password for you account. Use an email which is not publicly known to others (better option is to use a fresh email address and do not use this email address for any other web account) Make sure the password of the email address is very strong too. Before login to bitcoinTalk, check the URL is correct: BitcoinTalk.org (always check the url)

I have seen that no one has been made a moderator of the Bengalis.Because of which the most is spamming in Bengali thread. So please make the Bengali someone moderator. So think it would be better.Make the trusted Bengali your moderator, as you wish...
There are only three bangali topics... The last one ( BANGLA) is kind of scam accusation, the 2nd one ( বাংলা (bangla)) is a locked one and the first one ( বাংলাদেশ (Bengali)) is the only one which says, এই thread সমস্ত বাঙালি ভাষাভাষী মানুষের জন্যে...
Translation: This thread is for bangali speakers. This is the only topic where bangali people can make comments. Anyway, The community is not even a community of 10/12 people (if my calculation is right). When I first discovered that it was full of spam. People were posting... Good morning... How is everyone... Where are you from......Types of comments. The OP of the topic actually does not care IMO. S/he created the self moderated topic and left it. After having a failed attempt to create another fresh topic, I started to report the spammy posts and now if you see the topic (latest few pages) - it's much better. For a community of 10/12 people you do not need a dedicated mod. If you feel a post is not relevant and spammy then just report to the moderator. Cyrus will take care of it. I believe I have reported over a few hundreds of posts on that topic so far and non of them were marked as a bad one. A small advise for OP in local language: Please ebhabey poor language ay topic create koray Bengalider mention koray Bangladesh er proti oder image ta nosto korien na. I am sorry, apnar post poray ora whole community kay obohelar chowkhey daykhbay. Please English writing er dokhkhota aro baratay hobay, tarpor english board ay post koriyen.

bump for visibility... Although I am pretty sure this will be forgotten soon like we do when we ask anything to theymos except onetime - I was lucky that he responded with a quote

after reading your post there, I'm curious why does he need to borrow 0.08 btc if he (supposedly) had 0.096 btc of a token? why wouldn't he just sell 0.08 btc of that token instead of paying back 0.096? It never clicked my mind. It's simple because s/he wanted to scam someone and I was the one LOL I do not regret by the way, I really hope he comes out clean. My intention of braining this example to the OP was to alert him. Hope he learn something from here if s/he involves in the lending business.

....these things are left to community, this is why we have trust system.
Exactly, as a community person if we do our job for the forum then we will see these kind of scams/spams will not stand out for too long. Whenever you (we/us) spot a scam, create a scam accusation topic. Gather the information, evidences then ask the DTs to tag the user if s/he is knowingly promoting the scam.
|
|
|
...user/comapany that once promote a scam ICO including the scam ICO they have promoted.
That's why we have trust system, so I do not think there are any need for a separate list. We do not want anything that will create extra load for the mods/admins. It's clear that we do not have enough human resources so the minimal load for our mods are better for us. Besides, the forum is not responsible about ICO scams, the forum does not moderate scams. It will be really difficult for the forum to involved officially with any kind of ICO scam investigation. Not everything can go smooth. It's always good when you do good job but when something goes wrong then everyone will blame you. This is the exact reason I can think of for the forum not to moderate ICO scams.
