Updated the OP with the method itself

Yeah, I think that was the right move honestly. It could've probably been sold for dirt cheap, but at that point, I mean.. what's the point? lol.  That's pretty cool you decided to give it out for free.
1002  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] QUICK MONEY -- YOUR GUIDE TO GAINING BITCOIN QUICKLY on: October 14, 2015, 02:15:40 AM
It's an interesting concept... The concept he gives to double your bitcoins is not a "guaranteed" way by any means necessary.  The content is roughly 3.25 pages long and tells you his concept of a way to have a higher percentage chance of winning at satoshimines.com .  If you don't prefer to gamble, then this ebook might not be for you.

thanks for the initial review chennan, you mean this guide is targeted only for those who use satoshimines.com and does not apply to other sites?

Yes that's correct.  With no offense to player514, I think this method should be half the price it's set for (if that)... While it's interesting, there seems to be no proof of this working out and in the title of the page there is, what looks to be a screen shot of a cropped image of what seems to be his tx id's or maybe his wallet that shows one outgoing transaction of -.0101 and an incoming transaction of .0200 ... it's really cropped to where you can basically just see the amount value and the confirmations... doesn't show where it's coming from or anything.

The concept of winning is ok, but I'm not quite sure how satoshimines works or what provably fair system it uses to generate "mines" on the board.  I won't go into details about what he says, because that wouldn't be fair to OP and the potential buyers he might have... if someone likes satoshimines and is interested in coming up with another strategy on playing, then I guess it would be a good purchase.  But at $2.50 it's a little much, IMO.
He said that it would require an investment of ~.01, so why don't you "invest" that amount to see if it actually works.

Maybe the OP should give .01 to someone who received a vouch copy so they can actually properly test the eBook? Or the OP could "lend" them .01 and once they double their money as implied they can in the OP, they can return the .01 back to the OP

I would be willing to do this, I just don't feel like taking the time and investment to do it right now... Got a long day ahead of me tomorrow at work.  But if player514 would want to "lend" me the .01 tomorrow after I get off work to try it out, I will be willing to do that and see if it's legit.  I would have to do it more than 1 time to see if its consistent, so if I try it out the first time and lose, I'll just quit trying and report to all of you guys. If it wins, I'll return the .01 and try it again with the remaining .01... If that works then I would see it as reasonably valid.

But I'm about to go to bed now, so if you want me to come back on here tomorrow and give a full report, I can do that for you player.

i said earlier in this thread that i like rand paul even though hes not got a hope in hell, but now my cynicism has the better of me and i hope trump gets it. i know he is un-electable but i would love to see the gong show that would be American politics if he did win. utterly ridiculous and good for comedic relief.

TEAM TRUMP! MAKE AMERICA GRATE!

If Trump where to win, I feel like USA would then be a bigger joke than what it has already become in the first place... But it would be really really interesting to see what would happen if he were elected.  Unfortunately, if it were to be Trump vs. Sanders.. Sanders would win by a landslide victory.  The Republican party really needs to look at that fact and weigh their options carefully if they want to win.
1008  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you have a favorite casino? on: October 13, 2015, 09:33:26 AM
Magicaldice is working good for me and i am in nice profit there so that i can say that this my favorite casino with nice giveaway promos and much dedicated support team.

Yeah, magical dice does has a very good support team and people are always giving away stuff either in the chat or on the bitcointalk giveaways and promotions... can't say the same though, definitely not in profit profit lol Grin
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Start a Gambling Site on: October 13, 2015, 04:15:22 AM
Ok, so I know this is an old thread.. but asks the questions that's been on my mind for a good while.  What if we think we have a really good idea for a new gambling game, but are stuck behind the legalities of not being able to create one because I live in the US?  Is there any way to legally go about making this website?

I'm not quite sure what the legalities are with creating/hosting a gambling website in the US, but I'm pretty certain that it's not good.  I would maybe try to find someone to host it for you? But then again, I'm not quite so sure about this stuff, and personally wouldn't want government busting down my door for creating some game I put up on the internet lol.

Thanks! Cool concept for a game too!
1011  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you have a favorite casino? on: October 13, 2015, 03:00:46 AM
My favorite is primedice and just-dice.com. Because they are fair not like other casinos.

Well they might not be like other casinos in terms of regular online betting, but in the world of bitcoin gamblers everywhere, those sites are very much like the same in fairness and type of game.  Dice game sites already typically have a really low house edge, but it just gets to a point of which community you like better on the site.
1012  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: October 13, 2015, 02:53:38 AM

Why bitcoin will appreciate forever? Bitcoin stopped appreciating in 2013. That fact kinda undermines the credibility of any analysis that promises bitcoin will appreciate forever.

That assumes significant and lasting adoption takes place.

If it takes a couple of decades, by that point most of the coins will be mined and transactions will continue to grow. If that is the case then the value goes up.

The 2013 appreciation was a hyped, partially crooked, bubble. It had little or nothing do with adoption or demand.

Yep, it had little to do with the fact that more and more people were using it within a short period of time... it was just an elaborate scheme by Mt. Gox to pump the coins value by creating a hype in the market. Just when it got the right amount for them, they immediately pulled out...

In a way that company made bitcoin go from a digital currency, to an elaborate way to create a ponzi system that worked in their favor.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do u invest or u trying to make something from giveaways? on: October 13, 2015, 02:49:26 AM
I been investing a good portion on just-dice on the investors side.

Then using some back of the earnings to buy hashes with genesis mining..

I would definitely be careful with investing into cloud mining companies... there has been a whole black cloud after some of those businesses have been known for taking your coins while not giving any type of refund.
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do u invest or u trying to make something from giveaways? on: October 12, 2015, 11:11:13 PM
Well I'm trying to make something from almost nothing and mostly i play pocket dice ( day have 1000 satoshis per hour, some times there is even a bonus). And i menage to make 2 mBTC after some time and few minutes ago i lost it all ( i played to give under 6, every next bet doubled, 18 times was above 6 or 6). So I'm interested how u guy's doing this and how was situation with u?

Magical Dice is offering you free satoshis to bet there if you haven't Bitcoin to deposit and play, there is also some other sites offering bonus and giveaways for new members encouraging them to play in their sites.
You can try your luck with this sites, if you are lucky enough and have some good strategy you can make good profit

A lot of gambling website like dice sites offer a faucet to try out the game.. it's not meant to be used for making a "good profit". But yeah, Magical dice isn't the only one that offers this, but sometimes Magical dice offers "Magical hour" where the faucet amounts are multiplied by whatever number they set... it's a very generous gambling website in general though.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on: October 12, 2015, 11:07:26 PM
Sport bets. I make my house edge and also is fun to be part of the prediction topics around

Yeah that could be said that you are your own "house" and have more of a say so in what's going to happen with your money by making right choices, unlike dice... but you still have to go against the line, which in itself, acts as the "house".
1016  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: October 12, 2015, 11:05:00 PM
Hmmmm I would like to say gold for the safety of having some fiat in physical form as with BTC it is easy to gain as it is easy to lose however, with the volatility in recent times the rewards are just as great as its risks. It takes a calm, calculated individual to really take advantage of the markets

Yeah, with bitcoin I feel that BTC = high risk/high reward with Au = Low risk/low reward ... Though it is well know that gold has a general trend for steadily increasing in value over time. It is the best long term investment to make.  If you want to speculate and feel like the market is going to produce a huge "pump" in the bitcoin world, I would suggest investing then; but all in all it's a gamble.
1017  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-12] Why is Bitcoin Adoption Taking So Long? on: October 12, 2015, 10:53:05 PM
Bitcoin lacks a real world use case that cannot be realized by existing payment networks. There is no instance where Bitcoin is easier and more convenient to use than traditional remittance networks or fiat. Simply put, the world does not NEED bitcoin. The best we can hope for is a collapse of the world bank but until then credit cards and banking instruments remain easier safer and more convenient

It might not be easier and more convenient at the moment but it should be in the future. Why pay $50 dollars or some other extortionate fee to send money around the world when you can do it for little with bitcoin. You're also forgetting that some people in developing nations don't even have access or are allowed a bank account which bitcoin will solve.

I agree. World doesn't need Bitcoin for buying a cup of coffee or for buying anything that can be bought with the credit cards maybe, but for remittances world needs Bitcoin badly. For sending quickly and much cheaper money half the way around the world, the word needs us for this as well. I gave you just two good, strong use cases.

So why adoption takes this long?

1. Bitcoin is still overly complicated, yes it is. To buy and secure your coins, you have to be very, very computer literate which most people are not.

2. People tend to change their habits very hard, especially financial habits. So this will take time, especially when we are dealing with money. People need to trust it first.

3. Directly or indirectly sabotage by our opponents. Yes, if banks came tomorrow and said to their customers, use Bitcoin, it will make our and your life much easier, of course they would boost our adoption almost instantly. Will banks ever do this openly? I don't think so. Instead they see us as a competition and they are building their own blockchains.

the biggest thing you noted here was what you said on #2... it is going to be very hard for the mainstream adoption to happen right now, because most people who use bitcoins range from the ages of ~ 15-35 ... If that is said to be correct, for speculation purposes, that means there is only a 20 year gap between the users which probably only 20 % of the people in that age range actually use bitcoin right now.  As much as we hate to admit, we are still under the domination of the baby boomer generation, and our father, mother, grandparents or what have you are not going to be so adquate in being "tech savy", let alone be open to the idea of completely renovating how we as a global society conduct business.

It's going to take time. Probably 20 more years for the "older" crowd of bitcoiners to get in their senior stages in life.  Baby boomers will mostly be gone then, and I would imagine more people will figure out the importance of cryptocurrencies by then.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 12, 2015, 10:13:50 PM

So far we had:
Ring sig as in Monero -> Obfuscate the sender, amount visible
Confidential transaction by gmaxwell -> Hide amount, sender visible

Now we have both together. Moar privacy Smiley

This seems like a really elegant and useful work, I'm super grateful to Shen.

Wow, that's super cool... I guess I'll have to take the time to read the full paper, but I'm curious as to how this is at all possible.  I mean it would seem like you would have to give one to get the other, not just have both Grin but if they found that it is technically possible, then this would be revolutionary!

I've set the document under my bookmark so I can read it with my morning coffee when I wake up in the morning.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 12, 2015, 10:09:42 PM
Okay so I was watching the thread and no have decided to get on board the AEON train.

What would be a reasonable AEON purchase amount? I've seen elsewhere people saying 10% AEON and 90% XMR.

Fact is it is going to be hard to buy a lot of value of AEON with the total market cap being something like 150 BTC. Buying even 100k coins which by any reasonable standard makes you a whale only costs 1.8 BTC at current market...

Quote
I don't have that much XMR, but I'm keen to go fairly heavy in AEON providing Bittrex can take the volume. Also on that note, any strategies for accumulating in low volume conditions?

Place bids slightly below market (maybe 5-10%) and wait for dumps. Or try to find an OTC deal for a large block.

I don't know if it was said on this thread before, but what's the total amount of coins on the market right now? How many coins can be mined in the long run of things? Any links to charts of the distribution curves will be greatly appreciated.

Some charts and other stuff:

Ah, ok thank you.. So I see the total amount of emitted coin are a little over 8 million coins right now. Is the total amount of Aeon coins that can be mined around 21 million like bitcoin? Or does it have another amount?
1020  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: One ebay using bitcoin? on: October 12, 2015, 10:06:05 PM
Do you think that it is possible? it is very possible besides you are not the first but you can make your own stand out by adding special features that are missing in the website like cryptothrift

I was thinking that since cryptothrift has gotten the "ebay" format pretty down pat, maybe someone can implement a site that uses a "craigslist" type of site, where there are way more sections of the site that strongly focus on buying and selling goods and services... as well as a number of other miscellaneous sections on there that would suit everyones needs, based on your location... I'm not quite sure any one has done this, which is more specifically focused on using bitcoin as the primary form of currency.
