1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 01, 2023, 07:44:38 PM
I thought that it's already invested in Bitcoin without his authority and permission. Did your father gave you a go signal that it's okay for you to handle his retirement fund and be invested into somewhere you decide such as Bitcoin?

First things first, you have to make your father give some idea on what Bitcoin is. You may say to him that it's not a guaranteed type of investment because it is volatile.

IMHO, let your father do what he thinks is right for his money. It's his retirement money and not yours, let him enjoy whatever he can do with that. Be it on an investment or not.

That's the better thing to. But you can always educate him about bitcoin or crypto.
Let him decide what needs to be done with his money, after all, it is his money.
He earned such money, so much better if you will leave the decision to your father.
Investing in this market, even if we say only half of it is no guarantee that you can make profits later on.
Though the chance is big if you ask crypto enthusiasts, but it is not your own money.
We know that the chance is bigger than any other crypto because it is Bitcoin. But it's not like that that we want people to push limits and get into this type of decisions even it's not their money.

It could be an inheritance that OP is thinking of or he just plainly wants to help his dad get some profit because he has seen how it goes and how it's like to be on this market.

If he approves then that's much better and that's a good thing to hear from him.

I cashed in on that Tundra pick as well, i'm surprised that the bookies had Tundra as the underdogs on this series when they took down Team Liquid in the last series and only needed to take down Gaimin Gladiators to secure first place.

I got a bit greedy and even added D1 Hustlers live, as they're on the second map for the extra odds boost.  Tongue

That's sweet ralle!

I wouldn't be too greedy with D1 against Entity but well, the results are good and you've made some nice bets there. I guess tomorrow's match is a consolation and that will be Team Secret against Tundra.

Although Tundra secures a Bali major slot, I don't think that they'll ever give a win against Team Secret. Pity to Team Secret and OG as these two teams are gonna be relegated to division 2.

Betcoin.ag $2000 NBA Finals Prediction Collision - New Contest for Every Match

Nice promo but unfortunately I don't understand about basketball since it is not a popular sports in my country, I have never watched NBA match till now.
However, since it is easy to participate (predicting score only) so perhaps I can participate by doing research of their match history but I'll wait first to see how many participants submit their predictions till the last hour before the game started, if there are too many participants then I think it will hard for me to win because I have less knowledge about basketball.
You can watch some of its highlights on Youtube, later this day the first match for the NBA finals will happen.

*Any player who gets first place more than once will receive an additional $100 prize for each subsequent victory!*
Wow, nice addition for whoever gets to predict a lot. And the entry for this prediction contest isn't a lot, as long as you wager $5, you've got a free entry for this contest and with a bit of odds based on the details on the link.

So everyone, good luck.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: May 31, 2023, 11:02:50 PM
Having gambling as a stable source of income really applies to the owners and the operators. But if you're the casual gambler, you don't ask for it.

Even if you're disciplined and you want to make gambling as a stable source of income, you'll have hard time doing it because everyday is like a tough day for you.

You'll have losses no matter how good you are and no matter how disciplined you are.

VR is like going to give a better experience by just gambling at home. The casino will make you finally feel at home by showing you around through their virtual reality.

That's actually a cool experience if ever there's a casino that's allowing you to do that. Like it's a whole new experience and gamblers will be active more than ever with that.

Everyone will go back to their childhood if that happens and it's not just sales as per casino but also the device that will require you to enter into their virtual casino.
1027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Good way to save guard our relationship/marriage. on: May 30, 2023, 11:53:35 AM
Marriage must be taken seriously. Many couples get divorced because they don't tolerate each other and don't trust each other. Even though the purpose of marriage is to have a family covered with peace of love and affection. So basically, in a marriage, don't just be selfish, and you have to trust each other to build a harmonious family.
Take it from the older ones and our grandmom's and grandpa's on how they've made each other last their lovelife and marriage. It's all about giving and taking and as well as great communication.

We've got no crystal ball when our partners have some problems, one won't tell it directly as if he or she takes the entire world on his shoulder. But that's not the marriage that's ideal, one problem can be solved with the help of each other and that's why keep on talking to each other and know that you've got each others back.
1028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: May 30, 2023, 10:15:52 AM
If your parents are going retirement, let them do what they wanna do with their money. They know better with their money and they can't take that much risk for that money that's good as their retirement fund.

While you, I assume you're still young and can take and bear losses. That's okay for you to take that risk and invest in Bitcoin. We know as believers that someday it will be on a better place but as we go through that path, there will be times that you're not anticipating and will show how volatile this market is.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle long shot bets? on: May 29, 2023, 11:10:43 PM
That's possible, yesterday I just came from the entertainment place where it's like a game of gambling but in terms of tokens. You can sell the tokens back to the cashier or to other players.

I took a few of it and managed to gamble with it eventually. I've taken back my bankroll as the initial capital that I've made and despite winning a lot of my bets, I have this on my mind that it's okay to lose all of it. I think it sets our minds that it's okay to lose and get back at it again.

Like it's a normal human behavior and thinking that we can't beat. But in order for us to control it, we need to think of something different like it's no longer good for us or it is harming us and that's why we need to choose or we have to be satisfied whatever will the outcome be.
1030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not rely on articles as resources to learn Bitcoin on: May 29, 2023, 10:04:27 PM
As long as the sources are adding information for someone who wants to learn more about Bitcoin and it's not corrupting the mind of its readers, that's a fine source.

These sources are even just for free and they've made of course by these exchanges or whoever sponsors them and have it put on their website. And that's the actual fee that every guest or visitor pays them, the traffic in exchange of the resources and information that they've included on these articles.

But it's true that some of these articles might be misleading and bias.
They might be misleading due to some misconceptions that authors viewed from bitcoin. This is why we don’t have to limit ourselves from just few articles and stick to them. There are a lot of reputable and legit resources that we can find online, we just have to explore the internet and do our own diligence to find out which are legit and which are unreasonable. Thus, exposing our minds into different views make us more knowledgeable and wise.
With various resources that we can find over the internet, it's true that no one is limiting us to have a lot of source for articles that we like to read.

When something is off with the information that's said on that particular article that we read, we can find another one that's more verifiable and reliable.

Fake news is a lot these days and you can also read a lot of articles that's made for an agenda that's setting the mindset of readers depending on the perspective of the author.
1031  Economy / Economics / Re: Logic of life on: May 29, 2023, 09:03:17 PM
indeed! without experience, such knowledge will remain a theory. and you won't know if is truly feasible or not. you need actual proof that the theory works or not. meaning, you need to test your theory.
and with experience, you can always improve your theories as you will consider more variables in your study that you missed out when you formulate your theory. and that means, your theory now is more relevant to the actual situation you are studying.
And without applying it, will remain as the same.

That's true that there's a need to apply all of those knowledge and theories so that you'll be able to prove that they're all working and that's something you can say that you're right with this type of logic.

In with we are seeing right now, it's not all about being the most knowledgeable person in the world. You may be the most intelligent guy in the world but you don't know how to execute your plans and ideas and that's opposite to the ones that can even if they don't have all the knowledge but they're wise.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crazy Sports Betting Idea on: May 28, 2023, 11:36:02 PM
Maybe for some fun and still part of sports that people like to bet, these bookies can make this like random type of betting. I think some bookies have already this before and it's like an entertainment type of bet.

The NBA league also had a lot of coaches that are fired this year.
Here is the list.
Mike Budenholzer - Milwaukee Bucks
Doc Rivers - Philadelphia 76ers
Monty Williams - Phoenix Suns
Nick Nurse - Toronto Raptors
This is actually what I remember from the most recent stories in any sport aside from what OP has said. These coaches have been fired because they failed going onto the playoffs.
1033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not rely on articles as resources to learn Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 08:07:44 PM
~snip~

I guess the reader now has the responsibility of checking the sources on where the article/s based its report to know if they are accurately presenting data. This may be relatively difficult especially that some verified and genuine websites offer misleading articles nowadays.

I guess this is the reason on why this forum was created in the first place- in order to provide firsthand data/information to everyone about the current state of cryptocurrencies in general.

At the end of the day, when you are very unsure whether a certain article is misleading or not, better ask this forum for more clarification to avoid believing in false information being spread.
Right, when someone is in doubt of the information that he has read or extracted then you always have the option to ask if they're a good source or you think that you're just too paranoid by being overloaded with information.

~snip~
As long as they are legit sources, then they are still good to go as a way to learn bitcoin more. But I also believe that some might be out of the blue contents so readers should also be cautious on what they are trying to read so they can avoid being misled from bias information. That’s the reason why experience is always the best teacher, as reading alone is not enough to make you fully aware and informed about bitcoin.
Sometimes it's hard to find it out if the source is bias but I think all of us can be familiarized with it if they're trying to manipulate it with an agenda of going with the actual product they have.

And if you happen to notice that, it's up to you whether to keep on going or not anymore. We always have the choice.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 06:47:08 PM
Are you sure that you're the only one that's knowledgeable about Bitcoin in your area? Because you'll never know if one of the friends you're talking about could just be an agent of your government and soon will turn over you to them for committing such illegal activities based on what you've said and that is teaching your friends Bitcoin.

And if you know some ways of earning Bitcoin, you should just show them how you're able to do that and that's the introduction you need to do. After that, it's all them. Do not be too pushy on them whether they have savings or none.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 27, 2023, 01:14:19 PM
Wife knows best.  Grin

I was a bit addicted to gambling since my childhood but under my mother's rule I often abstained from gambling. But nowadays with various online casinos and gambling sites, my parents can't stop me from gambling. But one thing is very important because I am very young now and have the ability to control myself. So I don't indulge myself in gambling but my wife makes me this bad in Many times the urge to break out of the habit. However, with my wife's encouragement, I devote very little time to online casinos and gambling. I now stay away from betting only on IPL cricket. But my wife won't let me catch more than one bet every day.
At least you've got your wife on your back and she's there to monitor you if you're doing good or not. She just want to moderate you from gambling and that's typical with wives that's concern to their husbands.

Just like to the friend of OP, it's needed to give that ultimatum or else that guy won't stop and will continue to hide things from her.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in a project that might take years to outshine the market?? on: May 27, 2023, 10:42:50 AM
I found out in the blockchain world, many people are losing patience when they start to invest in a project. Their understanding about "long term" is no longer years but weeks.

Some project need time to build and shape. What do you think?
You're right.

And you know why? It's because that people have been thinking that it's always a fast paced market which is but then, that comes close because of its volatility.

But for these projects to impress investors then they have to show that they're already at their best as they propose themselves and giving their pitch to everybody.

Funny how Puppey said that if his team makes it to TI this year "Everyone is f...ed"  Grin Grin and to be true , they have 4th , 3rd , 2nd place in the last 3 TI's ...so there is actually a chance for them to win it Grin.
There goes the pattern and their social media page that it should be 1st on the next TI.  Cheesy

Meanwhile , they have a very long road to go and it looks like last TI qualifiers chance might be their last hope or they go nuts now and win every game they have left in DPC.
They're still alive and their next match is about to happen within the next 30 minutes as of typing this. They need to win against Entity so that they can still breathe and keep going hoping that they'll be ending going to Bali and won't relegate to division 2.

Also news from OG.Taigo who is having some life issues ..with depression and anxiety rounds and I do hope the guy gets a well deserved treatment and make a comeback because the Dota 2 fans really likes him as a person but as a player as well.
AFAIK, it's the same with K1 that has announced his vacation as well due to the same reason.
1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dubai to construct the world's first bitcoin tower on: May 26, 2023, 12:07:32 PM
AFAIK, as they've been dependent on their fossil fuels and oil reserve, they just can't rely to it forever so this is a good diversification that they do for their country.

I guess that Dubai is going to be one of the best countries in terms of skyscrapers and as Bitcoin is getting widely accepted. They can capitalze on that moment while the others are still reluctant towards getting involved and adopting it.

Isn't it that Binance has already an office there? And that's why Dubai is a Bitcoin friendly country.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: May 25, 2023, 12:14:24 PM
They can't be sure with that but they need to force themselves to win the remaining games so that they won't be back to the division 2. That's sad if they'll be back to div 2 just after going to div 1.
They finally got one on the board after sweeping D1 Hustlers with ease, and it was so clean they only gave 12 kills to the side of D1 Hustlers. Their next series will be against Entity and it'll be a crucial series to avoid relegation because I think it's their best chance to get a second win when compared to their series next week.

Entity pulled a decent performance against Gaimin Gladiators and stole the first map, but their drafting in the next two games was pretty bad. They gave Gaimin Gladiators an easy time completing the reverse sweep. If they still believe in the Windranger pick, then Team Secret might have no problem winning their last series for this week because Entity has been picking that hero so much (5/8 games), and it's a guaranteed loss.
Yeah, I've missed that match but that's good on them. They have to win against Entity but I don't think that it's going to be easy for them. Entity managed to win 1 against GG yesterday but still GG got them entirely.

As of now going on other region on EEU. We've got early games and I'm watching BetBoom against One Move which isn't a familiar team on division 1. But it's a surprise that these teams are struggling on this region, VP and Team Spirit.
