Quite miserable the stance of privacy, on lots of you.

That's what I thought after reading some posts here. It's amazing that bitcoiners, people who support the values written by Kirtchev can have opposite views. We can expect both left and right here, but all of us, regardless of what side we represent, should be libertarians not authoritarians.
The silver lining is that most people support mixers and the freedom they give.

Anyway, sadly, it might be the end, unless it resurfaces under new management.

I was thinking to not spend my energy and reply little bit later but I just can't read this bullshit I just can't.

You tried to be smart but it was really really silly comparison  Huh

What are you taking about, please read their terms and rules then see that this is allowed to play in the same adress.

I'm seeing that you never had any experience with betting on any sites at least little bit longer.

And you can't even read T&C and then make a big fuss how you were scammed.

You can check my post history to see that I've recently advised people to stay away from a casino that would not engage in discussion about a case where a player was accused of multi accounting and denied payment after winning about 9k USD and successfully completing KYC. I'm far from being on the side of any casino that takes player's money, but you're clearly wrong.
1043  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer in this forum on: March 14, 2023, 05:38:47 PM
They say "escrow available" in the thread. Why didn't you use that, OP? Escrow is made for this exact reason, so you won't get scammed by people who ask to pay first and get the item later.

My friend had an encounter with an old beggar once who said she'd tell him his fortune. She asked him to lay a bill on his palm and show her the palm with the bill so she can read it. When he did that she took the bill, said it's for prayers to the almighty, pointed to heavens, he looked up and while he was doing it she put the bill in her bra and walked away Cheesy
I guess you've just experienced a similar thing. May you learn from it.

1044  Economy / Economics / Re: How SVB fall going to affect bitcoin, crypto in general? on: March 14, 2023, 05:03:27 PM
I've been saying it for years:
If you want to exit bitcoin, exit into physical goods and services. If you can't do it for some reason, get cash or store credit via gift cards. Don't exit into a centralized bank, but all of these options are better than exiting into a stable coin. Stable coins have no benefits, unless you're trading and have to pay tax for every transaction.
Everything is better than a stable coin for an average bitcoiner who doesn't care about making a few bucks by peddling bitcoin back and forth every day.
Those who are worried about the future of USDC can stop using it and go back to uisng other options like cash, fiat money, and so on.
1045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One reason why bitcoin keeps preeminent? on: March 14, 2023, 04:51:48 PM
The answer is simple - it was the first and it was the only real deal. The rest is simply trying to copy bitcoin by adding their own twist to the mix, but bitcoin pure and simple, it doesn't need that addition to be good.

I'll give you an example from cooking. You must have a dish that's well known in your country and it's something that your mother and grandmother knew how to make and everybody loved it.
Nowadays, there are many chefs that want to renew the dish and slightly change it so it's not boring anymore, but all they get from it is that some people like it more, but the majority stays with the old one that their mother used to make. There will be that 10% that thinks chef Joe makes it better, but they will come home and want their mothers to make the traditional one. It remained popular for centuries and it's going to be there next year.

Why change something that works? Why take bitcoin and add PoS, premine, ICO, a foundation, a CEO and the rest of the board, centralized element, full anonymity, if the good old bitcoin has it all perfectly balanced?

That's why ETH will never be number one and it's the same for Ripple, Cardano, and all those other wannabes.
1046  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Katyn as a symbol of Russian crimes on: March 12, 2023, 09:10:23 PM
If the wreckage was looted, I don't think all of them were stolen. The ideal thing to do is to grant NATO or Poland access to the crashed plane and the site. Even with just a piece of the wreckage, the cause of the crash can be determined through proper investigation. It might be true that Russia is not the cause of the crash but to clear their conscience, access would have been granted to these investigators. Russia's refusal to grant investigators access or extradite the wreckage to Poland is what is giving birth to the suspicion that Russia is behind the crash.

Not all of it was looted of course, but probably as much as 30% was missing.
Also Russians acted very suspiciously by putting concrete slabs over the crash site. There was no need for that because the crash site was in a remote field, where there was completely no danger to the public whatsoever, but Russians came with bulldozers, leveled the field and covered it with concrete to make digging impossible. Why would they do that if not to hide evidence?

They also did not give Polish doctors access to the bodies. They put the bodies in sealed metal coffins and shipped to Poland, where against the orders of Russians the coffins were unsealed and it was found that body parts were completely mixed and people were lying with arms and legs belonging to other victims.

1047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maybe it's time for BTC to take off and reach the $100K on: March 12, 2023, 08:56:22 PM
This price is a joke for BTC's potential. Of course all we can do is hope. But it makes me wonder why it's not happening yet. Right now BTC is cheap as peanuts. Luckily 1 BTC = 1 BTC.

I agree 100%. BTC is very cheap at the moment because its price is being suppressed.

Who is doing it?

IMO there are at least a few people who want to destroy bitcoin because it collides with their plans of launching CBDCs. For this reason we're witnessing a coordinated attack on bitcoin from a number of US Congress reps, the World Economic Forum members and institutions like World Bank.

You can call it a conspiracy theory, but I'm fairly certain the following events are a part of the campaign against bitcoin:
FTX and its bankruptcy. SBF was so tightly connected with politicians and Gensler that it's not a coincidence that he was lobbying for regulation and after his bankruptcy we are getting exactly that regulations times ten.
The attacks on Custodia Bank by the SEC and Federal Reserve. Its CEO said a few times that there's an anti-crypto lobby actively working to stop crypto companies from getting money and permits.
The recent debates in congress against bitcoin mining when representatives for power companies came to testify that they see no problems in mining and don't see any shortages caused by miners.
So why are they trying to stop mining if it has no negative influence on people's lives? Because they can attack all altcoins with the "security narrative" and tax them, but since bitcoin is a commodity the only way is to attack its funding (banks) and mining by trying to paint it as "useless". I've heard some guy claim (at a Congress hearing) that bitcoin mining should be banned because "we" don't need it. I don't know who he meant by "we" and who gave him the right to represent all Americans, but that's what came out of his mouth.
1048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: he/they roasted us? on: March 12, 2023, 08:34:27 PM
Only he/they? These days you can't be sure what their pronouns are Cheesy

Let me start by saying that bitcoin is different from cryptocurrencies.
I'm not against the existence of altcoins, but let's be clear here, there are altcoins and there is bitcoin. All other coins more or less copy the idea.
Let's not forget that altcoins are securities and bitcoin is the only commodity. That single feature makes bitcoin superior. If people can't handle the facts, too bad for them.
1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too harsh on user? on: March 10, 2023, 08:45:08 PM

I agree with this. KYC should always clear things up.
There's also many ways to handle a user with 2 accounts from being extremely nice to him and asking him to choose 1 account and transfer all funds out of the other because it will be closed, through denying him wins on one account, by denying him wins on both accounts, up to a blatant scam IMO, which is taking his wins from both accounts along with all deposits.
I don't think casinos will be that nice to ask a user to choose between accounts when caught in case of multiple accounts since most of them already have it mentioned in the T&C of what penalty they will issue if a player is involved in multiple accounting.

-Since casinos are out to do business,  once they discover any issues related to cheating the account is outrightly flagged and close pending when the case gets cleared up or forgotten.

That's why I wrote "extremely nice" which implies far above average response. I wouldn't expect that, but I also believe that this should be decided on a case by case basis.
Imagine that someone made 2 accounts, got no warning upon registering because the system did not detect it, deposited only on one of them and played on 1, until he got caught. He did no damage to the casino, did not influence other games, did not cheat. I see no reason to ban or deny him his win on that 1 account that he used.
As a representative, I'd ban the unused account and let the player know why it got banned, that's all.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too harsh on user? on: March 10, 2023, 08:23:05 PM
Are you maybe referring to an issue with Metaspins?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5444025.0

In this case OP did not admit to having 2 cards. OP claimed to have only 1 account and there was no proof provided by the casino. The player also went through KYC and despite that was denied all funds.

If there is a suspect of multiple accounting from the same user the highest the casino will request from the player is KYC, and this is one of the major reasons why the casino has KYC policies on the ground.

-And any casino that confiscates your balance without due process must be a scam casino, and we have many of them so you are warned to avoid using such a platform.

I agree with this. KYC should always clear things up.
There's also many ways to handle a user with 2 accounts from being extremely nice to him and asking him to choose 1 account and transfer all funds out of the other because it will be closed, through denying him wins on one account, through denying him wins on both accounts, up to a blatant scam IMO, which is taking his wins from both accounts along with all deposits.
1051  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ✅Metaspins.com SCAM✅ Site Dont put your BTC There!! NOT pay 9500 USD winnings on: March 10, 2023, 08:00:15 PM
So, I guess none of the questions were answered because they could reveal how the casino found the player cheating, even though the casino clearly is doing shady business by asking a player accused of multi accounting to do KYC procedure, and once he was able to do that, accusing him of multi accounting.
It's very easy to change the IP in the database and then provide a screenshot of the login. I could fabricate a fake login attempt within minutes if given access to a database, as well as change players password, login time and everything else, so asking for a screenshot the DB, or a log file, would make no sense.

That said, the casino representative couldn't even tell us how many of these accounts were created, if they went through KYC procedure, if yes, how were they able to do it?
Were they even using a Latvian IP address like OP?

It's clear that answering these questions wouldn't in any way compromise casino's security procedures, but would shed some light on this case.

It's also clear to me that Metaspins wants to spend as little time and make as little effort as possible to interact with community here and the player who had his deposit seized without being provided a single piece of evidence.

Let's not forget the player won a large amount of money at Metaspins and did that without the use of any other accounts. OP played slots, so there was no other way to influence the game by the use of another account.

Stealing the win would already be a suspicious move by the casino, but they also stole his deposit and possibly a deposit of another player who used the same IP. It is even more suspicious now, that I see how it's being handled.

I'm unable to say if OP had multiple accounts or not, but solely based on the conduct of Metaspins representatives, I'm warning everyone who reads this thread that there's a high chance they will be denied their money, especially if they manage to score a big win.
1052  Economy / Gambling / Re: I got frusted please help? on: March 10, 2023, 07:49:19 PM
Am not saying that OP cannot get the entire requirements that he wants but it may take time to find any, we have many casinos with their own rules, but this one is common with them all that you must make a minimum wagering before you can be able to withdraw from them, but many seems not to understand the logic here that it's part of their rules and when they don't comply to this, gamblers seems disappointed and try to lodge a complaints on their disfunction not knowing it's coming from their end.

A better question is, why is OP looking for a casino with no wager requirement?
If you don't want to gamble your deposit, why do it in the first place?

Many casinos give you a bonus, some even higher than 1 BTC, provided that you deposit 1BTC yourself. How would a casino like that allow for withdrawals with no wagers?

There are many good casinos, OP. You don't need all your requirements to be met, believe me.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 10, 2023, 07:27:46 PM
Everything about WWE is scripted since I know about them, the matches look fake to me at times and it is not what I can go for. I will prefer to for boxing instead which is real. I can never bet on wresting like WWE.

For the real life matches in sport, we have so many options that we can just go for instead of the wrestling that is only meant for entertainment, not for betting for me when I have real life ones that can even take away my whole day if I want it to be like that.

It's funny but most WWE wrestlers get angry when you mention "fake fights". I remember that back in the day Hulk Hogan was always offended by it, even though it was true. There were some real hits made of course and some wrestlers broke limbs or even their backs, but it can be compared to what stunt men are doing in movies. They also get injured but they know what's going to happen and the goal is not to get injured but make a good show.

I wouldn't bet on that. It doesn't make sense to me since fighters know who will win before the match starts.

when i trade for short term this type of dramatic big red and green candles give me so thrilling experience,(when the trade is going in my way also in opposite and also when i m not in that trade  Grin Grin Grin)

Then either stop trading short-term, or learn to deal with it. Most traders get wrecked in this market because it's heavily manipulated and there are people with more money who just watch leveraged position to crush them and make a profit. They saw another hawkish FED move and a lot of uncertainty among traders because there was no trading volume last week, so they crashed it.
It doesn't matter for the long run because bear market is going to end next year with their manipulation, or without it, but for now there's nothing we can do about it.

Quote
many of you who trade experienced it no? it's also like gambling thrill but here we can control our loses in gambling all our funds are at risk.

I hold bitcoin for years and I don't feel any risk. It's going up at some point and whether I have to wait 2 months or 2 years doesn't matter.
The risk would be only if I was willing to sell it cheap out of fear.
1055  Economy / Economics / Re: Ripple CEO Says Crypto Industry Has to Rebuild Trust on: March 10, 2023, 09:01:48 AM
It's very hard for people to trust crypto when it's demonized by the media all the time and the government doesn't have a clear law about it.

Then trust bitcoin, not "crypto".

There's a reason, and I agree with some of these politicians who say most crypto is a scam, because it is. Just look at the IPOs from 2017/18, most of them were scams. All the fake bitcoin cryptos were scams made to capitalize on having bitcoin in their name and being cheaper, so that the average Joe would throw some money their way.

Quote
I think Ripple has to really win thier fight against SEC so they will finally draw the line which is security and which is not. This I guess can be the first step. The SEC itself classifying stablecoin as security is already not making crypto industry look good. While Gensler himself has a close relationship with the FTX team.  Cracking down crypto or the one they call operation Chokepoint will not give them the soft landing or the viable exit strategy as they are pushing the crypto players offshore.

They can as well lose, I won't miss them. XRP was made as a bitcoin's competitor from the start. They wanted to make a more centralized bitcoin with a large pool of coins under the team's control. They thought the traditional financial system would like them more if they had a CEO and a team of lawyers, but as we can see banks don't like crypto at all and registering a company just makes you a bigger target.
1056  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Katyn as a symbol of Russian crimes on: March 09, 2023, 10:12:43 PM
Planes never fall from the sky.

They sometimes do.

Quote
Officially, the investigation conducted by the Russian commission came to the conclusion that the wrong actions of the crew were to blame for the disaster.

This was in fact a sign of corruption within the government, because the decision was made against NATO guidelines, which stated that if there's a crash of a NATO member's military aircraft, NATO countries have to be allowed to investigate it. USA offered help but it was denied by Polish government. No NATO country was allowed to secure the crash site, it was all done by Russians and it was done so well, that soon withdrawals from dead passenger's bank accounts started to be made and their phones begun to turn on. According to the Russian side, the soldiers dispatched to secure the crash site stole private items that belonged to the passengers, but nobody knew about it until the families of the deceased filed complaints. Makes you wonder how much cash and secret documents got lost.

Quote
This conclusion of the commission is doubtful, so Poland turned to Russia with a request to issue the wreckage of the aircraft, which was refused. It is quite possible that the reason for the refusal to extradite the aircraft wreckage is the presence of traces of explosives in them, which can be detected by modern analytical methods.

More likely the wreckage got looted. It was reported that it wasn't secured at all and local people and soldiers were stealing parts for scrap. If they ever had to give it back they would found out that there's barely any copper and electronics left in the plane.

The most probable reason for the crash was weather and lack of lights on the airport's runway. There were reports from very early interviews with the locals, who said that a day after the crash they were replacing runway lights at the nearby airport. In the former Soviet Union nothing works. You get a plane with 3 engines but only 2 work, you get to the runway but can use only 80% of it because the rest is full of holes, the landing beacon doesn't work and only half of the runway lights have power.

IMO Russians didn't directly cause the crash, but they were pleased that it happened, uncooperative and incompetent with their investigation.
1057  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's second biggest weekly gain happened yesterday on: March 09, 2023, 08:44:16 PM
I have observed that Bitcoin's momentum has decreased since it reached the $25,000 mark, resulting in a failure to meet expectations Cry.

Maybe it's not bitcoin that failed the expectations but the expectations were too high for the market that we're in?

The bears have been dominating the market, with losses amounting to half of the gains made this year since the beginning of March. At present, the price is trending towards the $21,050 range, and it is anticipated that the sell-off will not dip below $20,000, with a potential shift in direction expected before the week's end.

They've been dominating the market since November 2021, that's why it's called the bear market.

No dip below 20k? Like it was anticipated in 2022 that we wouldn't go below that level?
The only thing that I'm quite sure of is that the bottom is in. That said, we could go to 16k again and the bottom would still be in. The market is so manipulated with only 20% of bitcoin being liquid and tradable at any moment, that with enough pressure you can expect any exchange to crash, just like they did last year. Dos it change anything for bitcoin? No, because it's still going up after the halving, so unless you've got bills to pay and bitcoin as your last source of funds, you have no reason to worry.
1058  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ✅Metaspins.com SCAM✅ Site Dont put your BTC There!! NOT pay 9500 USD winnings on: March 09, 2023, 01:06:04 PM
Just saying that you found the user was abusing the bonus system and multi-accounting isn't good enough IMO. You guys need to provide proof with in this thread or privately with a trusted member.  Your site hasn't been around long enough for the forum to just take your word.

That and like I wrote in this thread in the gambling section, the casino is claiming one thing and doing another.
They say "accounts were disabled and fraudulent winnings were removed." but they do not seize his winnings, but his deposits as well.
Let's hypothetically say there was an account ring and each account deposited $400 to the platform, we're talking about thousands of dollars that Metaspins has usurped. That's very convenient for the casino.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 09, 2023, 12:47:34 PM
It's an easy mistake to make. I've seen people do that in transactions where they'd input the wrong amount or too high fee, back when you had to manually adjust it.
That's why Electrum had that fee bar added so that you couldn't overdo it with the fee, unless you chose a manual fee option. That's why many wallets added qr codes and exchanges have you an auto copy button.

When you feel bad about it just think of people who were trying to bet $5 on auto and pressed the same with $50 and a minute later their wallet was down a few thousand.

I feel like you were too excited about your first payment and eager to bet it. Easy come, easy go.
1060  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Metaspins.com Scam Site Dont put your BTC There!!!!! NOT pay 9500 USD winnings on: March 09, 2023, 11:07:42 AM
Unfortunately, due to all the gathered evidence, your accounts were disabled and fraudulent winnings were removed.

This doesn't make sense. You claim to have removed fraudulent winnings, but you've stolen his deposit. So what is this about, his fraudulent winnings or making a few dollars at the expense of a client?
I've worked in customer service for 2 years and we'd never hold client's deposit, even if that client was using multiple accounts or trying to cheat KYC.
Your explanation of a bonus abuse doesn't hold because OP won a lot of money. Many times more than the bonus provided by the casino, so the casino did not lose money because he claimed the bonus, but because he got lucky and won and he would've won without the bonus, because according to him he deposited a much higher amount than what he was betting ($420 to play with a $5bet).
I don't know what the bonus was, but you could've handled it in many different ways that would satisfy both you and the client, like returning his deposit only, or subtracting the bonus from his balance.

Would you mind giving some more details about the case?
I'm asking because the multi accounting argument is also pretty weak, since OP went through KYC procedure.

Did all "his other accounts" also submit KYC?
Did all other accounts also have deposits, if yes then how big?
Did other accounts also win money in your casino?
Did any of the accounts managed to withdraw anything?
