1061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 06, 2023, 05:23:51 PM
Privacy is important when it comes to Cryptocurrency, so why do exchanges like Bitget require KYC (Know Your Customer) for all users, even those who only want to get airdrops? I thought KYC should be for those transacting many Bitcoins, Is it really necessary for everyone?

afaik, exchanges that previously did not require KYC have now changed to requiring KYC because developers are under considerable pressure from governments in several countries. Moreover, currently Bitget has quite high daily transactions so that in order to survive they have to comply with the government and its regulations, but if you really don't like doing KYC, you should avoid using CEX, just use P2P which doesn't require KYC.
1062  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 06, 2023, 05:05:11 PM
Let's suppose you have a limited budget which can be used only for one of the alternatives below:

What is the best investment, in your opinion? To use this money to pay for your education, so you can conclude a superior course and achieve a higher degree, having access to a wide jobs' market, or to use that money to acquire an apartment, house or piece of land, so you can make a passive income from this?

It brings the following question up: what is more valued in life: to be or to have? Does it make someone fulfilled to have while not being or being without having anything?

I chose to invest in property rather than personal education, the reason is simple, that's because property can be mortgaged to the bank if needed, Apart from that, there is a big possibility that the value will continue to increase in the next few years, but it's different from personal education. however, I'm sure some people have different thoughts about the above options and educational background is a major factor.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 06, 2023, 04:42:32 PM
What is the one behaviour you noticed in a gambler and  you dislike it? You don't need to have a reason for disliking it but you just do.

As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

What about you, what do you dislike ?

one of the bad behaviors of gambling addicts that I don't like is their inability to maintain good relationships with friends or family, I often even hear about gambling addicts who intend to separate from their families or even their partners. Gambling addiction often makes people forget about themselves and their responsibilities towards their lives, so it's no wonder that the average gambling addict becomes homeless because they are kicked out of their homes by their families, maintaining good relations with family is an advantage.
1064  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I found Facebook trading group they work with signals wolf of wstreet on: September 05, 2023, 10:13:47 PM
...
Looks like the OP is going to have to learn the hard way, but that's sometimes the only way you can convince someone that some things aren't what they seem. There are few who can say that they did not have similar "problems" in their beginnings, and I do not exclude myself as someone who believed in various projects, and in the end, only Bitcoin remained.

If it is only about lost time and a little money, then there is not too much damage, but some people are very badly disappointed in everything, even though it is actually their own fault because they did not want to listen to others - that is why those who learn from other people's mistakes can save a lot of time and money.

what you say is very true, and usually they are beginners who don't want to listen to advice from other experienced people even though that advice is very important - it is important to save costs and time, of course when people are trapped and lose big because they fall into tricks like this would blame cryptocurrencies as a whole even though it was all their choice (I imagine the OP bought or trade shiba inu based on signals from those Facebook group then he/she lost money but he/she blamed bitcoin, that's really an idiot's thinking lol)
1065  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 24hr fully automatic cryptocurrency exchange, NO KYC needed on Bitsar! on: September 05, 2023, 09:59:56 PM

I tried either with Chrome and Edge with almost same loading time ( around 10 seconds) on my desktop PC; also tried with duckduckgo on my mobile phone, had to switch settings to desktop site otherwise I had no way to see  spot trading option, and ...surprise...it took a couple od seconds to have everything displayed and operational.

thanks for the information:

this is how it looks when I open bitsar in my firefox browser, you can see it is very slow and keeps loading;

but when I open it via Microsoft Edge, the display is very smooth,

@OP, where can I find the download link for the bitsar smartphone application for my iPhone (because I can't find it), I really like doing transactions via smartphone, I think it's more convenient.
1066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Face unlock on bitcoin wallet devices on: September 05, 2023, 08:56:43 PM
It is on this forum that I knew using fingerprint to unlock wallet device is not good, specifically mobile phones. We know already that we should not have too much bitcoin on a mobile wallet. Let us assume that you have little amount of bitcoin on a mobile bitcoin wallet like Electrum or Bluewallet but you still want security.

Fingerprint is not secure, what about face unlock?

I currently use an iPhone 11 and to open the screen and even some of my important applications, I use a facial recognition system or what is commonly called face unlock, in my opinion this is much safer than fingerprints because my bitcoin wallet was once locked because my fingerprints had a little problem so I have set all the important applications on my iPhone to use face unlock (I use safepal and trustwallet to store my bitcoin and some altcoin assets and I activate face unlock from my iphone settings)
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Atlantis conference in Madeira Island on: September 05, 2023, 07:08:01 AM
Hey everyone!

I would love to invite everyone to visit Madeira Island, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, for a pure signal BTC conference plus vacations.

Check it out at bitcoinatlantis.com

Cheers  Wink

I visited your site and saw that visitors were divided into 3 category tickets and the cheapest was 42 euros, is this event a copy of the usual bitcoin conference event, I even checked the bitcoin.org site but your event is not listed there, is the organization different?

on your site jack dorsey and michael saylor became one of the speakers, it seems this is a big event, it's a shame the location of this event is very far from where I live, it's a pleasure to be able to go to this event especially the island of madeira is reportedly very beautiful.

1068  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I found Facebook trading group they work with signals wolf of wstreet on: September 04, 2023, 11:26:30 PM
This what i found over 400 members i'll join becouse i want to trade together like team they are ispired by wall Street ...i like to slogan "u got to pump up rookie numbers "  Nice idea

For someone who is new to all this, every group he comes across is great - it's enough to write a catchy name and promise profit, and before you turn around, thousands of members will be making millions, just like the guys from Wall Street Roll Eyes

Next year at this time you will be a millionaire Wink
hahaha, a Facebook trading group that creates thousands of new millionaires, that is a group that is more valuable than a gold mine.

I still really remember in 2017 - 2019 (when I was still very new to crypto and also this forum) I participated in many signal trading groups and trading discussion groups on Facebook but what happened to these groups now? yes, all of them are dead because the admin has other agendas (spreading referral links and also selling trading books). Of course, the Facebook group that OP is talking about will not be much different from the Facebook groups that I have participated in.
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Suggest a promising project at an early stage? on: September 04, 2023, 11:04:10 PM
I think old project will be the best investment for you and you will never be disappointed with those projects because the best tokens always guarantee investors. Also if you want to hold for longer then definitely buy early top coins. If there are any profitable services offered by them, participate in them.

even though it is small, there is always an opportunity for early investors to make big profits from early stage projects, Moreover, when the new project has a launchpad on a large exchange like Binance, many investors will be busy buying the tokens offered by the project.
but for long-term investments, it's really not recommended to invest in new projects, it's better to focus on investing in projects that have been around for a long time and have a good reputation, you don't just think about momentary profits because long-term and safe profits are more important.
1070  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-08-22] Bitcoin Mining Startup Raises $13 Million to Turn Trash Into BTC on: September 04, 2023, 10:35:03 PM
https://decrypt.co/153346/bitcoin-mining-startup-raises-13-million-to-turn-trash-into-btc/

"Nodal Power has secured a substantial $13 million funding round to continue converting methane gas produced by landfills into electricity, which is then dispatched to local electricity grids as renewable power."

"powers 500 miners for 40 petahashes per second (PH/s) of capacity."

"A recent KPMG report suggested that the volume of flared methane in the U.S. and Canada could potentially power the entire Bitcoin network."

Now burning methane gas to produce electricity, might not be the most environment friendly option, but it is released into the air in any way.. so why should we not use it?

I read in an article that the CO2 released by methane gas from combustion is much lighter compared to coal or oil, but when compared to solar or wind energy, the CO2 released by methane gas is quite high,

but there are some issues that say that the EU government will work hard to eradicate the use of methane gas.

I am not an radical environment activist, but I am happy when I hear that there are bitcoin miners who use energy that is more environmentally friendly than coal or oil and it is only fitting that all bitcoin miners adopt a more environmentally friendly combustion system so FUD regarding bitcoin mining is bad for the environment can be fought with data and reality in the field.
1071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to join best bounty and earn money? on: September 04, 2023, 08:56:59 PM
I don't understand there are so many bounty in bounty section. Because a YouTuber made video and I saw. He says make account and than earn money with bounty and I don't have knowledge?

by the way can you provide the link of the youtuber you are looking at as i am quite curious. altcoin bounty campaigns have been unclear for quite a long time, currently the majority of altcoin bounty campaigns are only filled with projects whose future is not clear, if you really want to make money through bounties on this forum then you have to focus on building your account reputation first and then increase your rank to at least full member then you have the opportunity to enter a signature bounty campaign that pays for bitcoin or some other good altcoin, it's difficult to grow an account at the beginning, but don't be discouraged.
1072  Other / Politics & Society / Re: corrupt practices of African democratic leaders. on: September 04, 2023, 08:30:45 PM
Africa is blessed with natural resources. But are under the mis-management by there corrupt leaders who claims to be democratic. but their for personal benefits. let's look at president Ali Bongo and family, which was said to have been in power for over 53years. but was taken over by military, as a case study.
should Africans agree for military takeover of all the Africa nations for proper restoration of African glory. or they should remean in corrupt democratic government .
what are your say on this......

I heard that Africa is a golden continent, but there are still many countries there that have chaotic politics. If we go back, we will all see how apartheid politics spread and civil wars happened. This all shows that the system of government in some countries on the African continent has failed, I imagine how great the potential of the countries on the African continent is when it is managed properly, it will definitely beat other continents because of the wealth of natural mineral resources there, there is no need to doubt it anymore.
1073  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security in the world has been shaken by Russia's actions on: September 04, 2023, 08:13:11 PM
A lot of things have actually changed across the globe following the war in Ukraine with supply chain receiving the major hit. As expected, this have had serious negative impact on many economies. prices of food items have tripled in my country as Russia/Ukraine constitute part of the major producers of fertilizer and wheat. If this trend continues, we might see global emergency in food as many people are already struggling to feed.

I feel the Russian Ukraine war could have been avoided as it is a clear case of proxy war of West with the East. Same scenario is also brewing in West and Central Africa and I hope it does not escalate. As a matter of urgency, the whole world must come together this time to put and end to the war in Ukraine because it is affecting the entire world in no mean way, not forgetting the innocent lives being wasted daily in that avoidable war.

friendly countries between the two countries have made every effort to stop the Ukraine vs Russia war but it is difficult to stop a war between countries when each of them has interests that they want to protect and fight for (we can say they are very selfish), my country is far from Europe but the impact of the war between the two countries is quite felt in our country, things disturbance we have felt like the exchange rate of our country's currency, delays in import-export goods and also fuel shortages.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Half of the People in Turkey Now Own Crypto on: September 04, 2023, 03:44:46 PM
It makes sense now, it's just a research survey. I was actually confused that how can this number be the actual number of Crypto Investors as Turkey has a population of 85 million, that means according to them, approx 43 million people are using Crypto. This number can't be real at all. I mean what a way to sell their news and make it a clickbait, good job Decrypt team. I mean by this logic, there are more than 700 million people already using Crypto if follow this.

surely the title is just a clickbait because currently Turkey's population is 82 million people and half of them are 41 million, I even looked for clarity on the news on this topic and I found several articles that said crypto adoption in Turkey was up 50% from the previous year all of that because inflation. this will definitely become a trend, I will definitely convert my fiat currency if high inflation attacks my country's economy, inflation is a very bad thing because your purchasing power for some goods increases by several percent.

1076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto market will pump soon? on: September 03, 2023, 07:11:48 PM
Crypto market was going well, Bitcoin was pumping gradually and altcoins also following the path after bitcoin. But market get dumped recently. But today it shows good signs for something good to be happened. So what do you think? We are going to notice recovery soon? Or many dumps are waiting ahead?

some cryptocurrency investors say "don't keep everything in one basket" that's quite true, because currently there are quite a lot of altcoins that are potentially bullish when bitcoin finishes bullish, I still recommend everyone to invest in 3 or 4 altcoins (besides bitcoin) because the altcoin market will be bullish (however, as much as possible, avoid meme tokens whose price increases are based solely on hype) and you can make profits apart from being bullish on bitcoin.
1077  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 03, 2023, 06:44:03 PM
There is a halving coming next year to which many people who know and have bitcoins have set a target of the amount they hope to have in their holding by the time the bull run begins. I like to know if with this knowledge of bitcoin halving coming, if anyone is investing in anything other than bitcoins. I do not mean alt-coin but things like Real Estate, stocks, bonds etc. I know that Real Estate is good to invest in, but asides real estate, what else are you risking the money you should to invest more in bitcoins on?

Apart from bitcoin, I also have investments in gold and silver, I don't have investments in real estate because the capital I have to use is very high, especially since a lot of real estate values have been manipulated by old peoples. I also have several small gold bars and several necklaces and rings. Even though I know the value of gold will be stagnant and it doesn't seem like it will rise quickly, I have a long-term target for all my investments because there are many things that could happen in the future and I have to prepare everything well from now on.
1078  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: September 03, 2023, 10:59:22 AM
Wait a minute I used to think online is the next generation if your not going online your toast but elon musk just lost funds in Twitter trying to take it fully online. He sacked almost all the employees ,replaced them with bots and now he is trying   to sell it . Don't mistake me I'm not trying to criticise the dude but i don't get why this happened for real his plan was nice trying to reduce cost of work . But what went wrong
Twitter usage is really going down I think the app is more boring . What do you think we all know elon this might be another business Strategy right Undecided

elon selling twitter?  where is the official news that contains this news, Elon Musk deliberately bought Twitter because he saw Twitter as the most exciting social media platform and has active daily users in the world, different from other social media, so he won't sell Twitter easily,
but regarding Twitter users after the rebranding to X it went down, quite a lot was reported, even the decline became 4%, from what I noticed, Elon is currently trying to keep his users active on X aka Twitter by creating paid accounts for the content creators or accounts that have great appeal (influencers) and I don't think Elon is doing anything wrong about the business he is running, I just support him in his expertise in managing business and seeing opportunities but in the crypto world I hate him lol
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks offering investing in Bitcoin on: September 02, 2023, 04:48:49 PM
Since they couldn't suppress Bitcoin, some banks are now endorsing investing in it. I remember seeing that I could buy and sell Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies if I remember correctly) straight from my business banking app when I was working on financials in some company a while ago. Now I wonder, do they just want to enter the market and profit off of it or are there some other intentions? Since they offer an exchange for business users, could it be possible that the system could be used so the government could actually tax Bitcoin by taxing the company investing in it trough the bank account?

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but when banks are involved with Bitcoin it always seems like an attempt of gaining some sort of control over it or push it to be more centralized in some way. And seeing more and more of them getting involved doesn't really comfort me.

What do you guys think, should banks even be in 'the game'?

because the main goal of banks is to pursue profits, it is possible that they have other intentions behind bitcoin, currently the growth of bitcoin users every day is quite large besides user growth, the velocity of money in bitcoin trading is also very large every day and banks must see this phenomenon as something they can't miss, instead of fighting something that can't be stopped, why not use it to attract support to attract more profits (that's their plan imo), in the future we don't know what will happen, currently many banks reserve gold in their vaults, maybe later they will reserve bitcoin in their private wallets.

1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rant: Casinos should hire people who knows about what they do on: September 02, 2023, 04:26:35 PM
...
...The most important thing for them is that they have so called customer support available that worth 1/10 of what they had to pay if they were to hire in their own country.
That’s very odd. How could these casinos grow their customers if the customer support itself is not worth of the customer’s time. Probably, the owner or the management of the casino has oriented them before they start their job, but since they are poor in English or any foreign language wherein customers often use, then they can’t tell or even understand the problem from the start. Well, that’s really bad for their business. However, if I am the owner of a casino, I will make sure that those people involved in customer supports are also regular gamblers so that they can easily relate to the problems asked by the customers or players.

I don't see what the OP is experiencing is a problem because of the bet but he questions the technical problems that occur, and it is impossible to employ gamblers as customer support when what is experienced is a technical problem.
I agree with what Synchronice said, some gambling sites only employ people in developing countries (remote work) who are only responsible for answering every customer complaint, because it is impossible for gambling owners and developers to answer customer complaints one by one every day so they are looking for remote workers who will only be responsible for answering and listening to customers' chatter.
The knowledge they get for the gambling sites that employ them is of course not extensive so they are often confused about what to answer and can only answer later we will follow up.
