981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: September 15, 2023, 07:17:24 PM
https://protos.com/owner-of-8k-bitcoin-lost-in-landfill-threatens-to-bankrupt-local-council/

I think him lashing out at the city council and threatening to sue them doesn't make bitcoin look good. wherever his hard drive is, if it's in that trash dump i don't see how even a data recovery expert could get anything off of it. it's probably been crushed, cracked, corroded, etc. lost cause. his big mistake was throwing it away in the first place but that was his fault no one elses. he lost those bitcoin a long time ago. and they're not coming back.  Shocked
Again this guy? Again?! That hard disk is lost forever, it's now been 10 years, it could be under tons of trash of even completely destroyed. I don't understand how he can sue the city for not giving him the permit to do whatever he wants like he owns the place. It's just ridiculous what he is doing, just get over it, you will never get those bitcoins back, focus on your current life instead of being stuck in the past.

It's possible that someone pushed him not to give up on getting his hard drive containing Bitcoin at any cost, I'm not on the side of the city council but they can use all kinds of laws and regulations that apply in the city to fight the demands of the man who lost the hard drive. 10 years is quite a long time to be able to find the lost hard drive, especially if the city has an automated waste recycling facility then the chance of getting the hard drive back from the man is around 0.0009%

983  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 8 Benefits Of Investing in The United States (US) Stock Market on: September 14, 2023, 03:14:52 PM
...
If you needed a reason to invest in US stocks, I’m sure you have found many by now. Investing in US stocks will give your portfolio exposure to a bigger and wider market, reduce risk, and can significantly increase your returns. If you are looking for the easiest way to invest in US stocks from India, check out stock tokens.

Even though what you say is not new knowledge, investing in stock tokens is the best choice and is highly recommended for those who live outside the USA and only have small capital, I also have a few stock tokens (I don't only invest in cryptocurrencies only ) including Tesla - Alphabet - Amazon, I chose these three because I believe the management performance of the three above is the best in the world today.

   -   Investing in the stock market is not bad as long as you know what you are getting into, although the risk is also high. But if you share that here in the forum, I think the majority of the community here will choose to invest in cryptocurrency or bitcoin.

Maybe you also know what it means anyway because you know that most of them are bitcoin or crypto lovers. Because for me crypto trading is still different if I compare it to stocks.

I'm sure some other cryptocurrency and bitcoin investors (especially on this forum too) have other investments too such as stock tokens, wise investors will definitely put their money in the best things.
984  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: September 13, 2023, 06:17:21 PM
I visited Shuffle twitter page and I found a lot of content and images unrelated with gambling or casinos, there are pizza images, alcohol, drinks, comical images, browsers, food, etc.
Are you sure you have visited the official twitter account of shuffle? I have been a follower of shuffle for quite long time now, maybe more than 3/4 months but haven't seen anything like that. At least I can't remember whether I have seen anything like that. Here's the official account of shuffle- https://twitter.com/shufflecom

some of the posts made by Shuffle on their Twitter account are in the form of replies so not all posts on the Shuffle account deviate from things related to gambling.

I see quite a few questions about requiring KYC L1 before depositing - this was a conscious choice from our team, we want to have some level of checks before we allow users to send us money as per the regulatory responsibility we have with our license. You can update your L1 KYC if ever you decided you wanted to go further and complete full ID verification with our L2 verification.

I am 50:50 in responding to matters related to KYC, with the increasing prevalence of underage gamblers, I support the steps of the shuffle team to supervise their users by carrying out KYC, maybe there will be pros and cons for this policy but I support the responsibility of shuffle team.

He said that many of his students already knew about online gambling.

"Many children talk about online gambling or slot gambling at school," said the elementary school teacher who did not want to be named, Monday (11/9/2023).

However, he never found his students playing online gambling or slot gambling at the school where he taught.
SOURCE--
you must use translation to be able to read the article above in full

my country strictly prohibits all forms of gambling, but the sad thing is, many children aged 9 - 10 years already understand and know about gambling, especially slot gambling, why is that because quite a lot of elementary school children in our country already have personal smartphones! they often exchange information and understand how to use VPN to open online gambling sites,

here I think the educational role of online gambling developers, especially online casinos, is very important, maybe you can give a little educational message to those who open your site, as adults, we must be able to protect young children from gambling, they cannot yet earn their own money, the money they get mostly comes from their parents' money.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copa America 2024 (CONMEBOL & Concacaf Collaboration) - Discussion Thread on: September 13, 2023, 02:55:31 PM
Guys, yesterday I saw the official logo of Copa America 2024:

The explanation:

In my opinion it is MUCH prettier than the 2026 World Cup logo (If you haven't seen the world cup logo yet, do so and then compare the two logos)
They could use this logo for the world cup too hahaha
I liked the elements contained in the logo, the colors and the fonts used, they did a good job
What do you think guys?

I also really like the logo for the 2024 Copa America (because it looks simple with only 4 color combinations) rather than the 2026 World Cup logo (which has a combination of more than 4 colors)

...
These countries have good set of top talents, they're hidden and they always display brilliantly when they are given the chances. Nothing is impossible in football; I've seen a tender player handle places in a club's engine room and seasoned players turn out to be a total washout. Players with good football abilities will undoubtedly seal the deal from elite clubs with huge offers that will rewrite the entire statistical football history. It's incredibly exciting to see new football players blossom into household names. The Copa America in 2024 would be a challenging battle, and I would pick Brazil and Argentina as favorites to win the title.

Yup, Argentina is a country that is predicted to be the champion in the Copa America 2024, but what I have noticed is that Argentina is focusing more on senior players than young players. Reportedly, di Maria will also retire after the Copa America 2024, which means she won't play in the 2026 World Cup, would Messi do something like that too!!
987  Economy / Economics / Re: for anyone interested in how much their personal data is worth on: September 11, 2023, 10:02:13 PM
We really have to protect our privacy data, currently in my country there will be an election soon but there are already several people who are busy collecting the personal data of prospective voters, they also promise that anyone who is willing to provide their ID card privacy data will be given $3.

There is also news that I heard in one area, people were obliged to pay debts even though they had never had any debts from online loans, it is suspected that this happened due to a leak of personal data. Our personal data is now much more valuable than gold, it is very important to protect it.

988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take your eyes off from the fall in price on: September 11, 2023, 09:13:52 PM
As a young bitcoiner that is having plans to invest in bitcoin or already investing. How do you feel about the current price of bitcoin?
* is it encouraging to you that this is an opportunity for you to buy more.
* does it makes you  lose  hope concerning your investment that it should have gone beyond bitcoin current price of $25,835.
Before now many speculators do say by this the price of bitcoin should be around $35,000 by now, and this is the kind of news investors wants to hear all the time but it is unfortunate that the price of bitcoin has drop to $25k which can be heart breaking to some investors expecially the new ones.

Do not let the price of bitcoin right now make you give up on you investment plans, the drop in price is just a distraction to make you take a decision that can make you regret of the better days of the market coming.

It is normal for investors or traders to feel insecure because the price of Bitcoin fluctuates greatly, but if that feeling overpowers your confidence in investing in Bitcoin, you have made a big mistake. look again at the history of bitcoin prices in the few years ago, the price of bitcoin will never be stable, maybe now the price is $25k but believe me in the future the price could be at $100k/btc. Apart from that, the FUD against Bitcoin will continue, just ignore it!!
989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accepted crypto for trading on: September 11, 2023, 05:52:48 PM
Hello you guys,
Until now, there is no country officially accepted crypto for trading or purchase as I know. Can you explain why?
Moreover, do you think that which country could be the first?

like the others, I'm confused about what your purpose is in making this topic, you don't seem to read enough international news, my country accepts cryptocurrencies as digital commodities and is legal to trade.

Apart from that, there are several countries that also make Bitcoin legal tender, but for (other) altcoins I don't know whether in the future there will be countries that adopt them as legal tender, be diligent in reading international news (especially those related to economics, finance and cryptocurrencies).

if you have a little time then read the article above, China's achievements in the last few decades are truly beyond expectations, they were able to rise from adversity and succeeded in becoming one of the countries with the strongest economy and military in the world, to be honest the population in China makes the economy they strengthen because demand for food increases, so many business opportunities are created. It is predicted that the Chinese economy will continue to be strong for the next few decades, their government's policy is very good in maintaining the consistency of the Chinese economy, other countries like it must be able to imitate the tricks that China uses in managing their economy.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as good store for value on: September 11, 2023, 08:54:36 AM
A lot of people only think of how they can make money from bitcoin to become rich and this is all they can think about bitcoin.   Bitcoin can be as a store of value for all assets,  making every properties to remain valuable. Bitcoin is a digital property that can be bought without any other expenses attached to it unlike some physical properties expecially Real Estate that has other much expenses that is needed to be spent first before getting the main property, if one should consider to convert this property into another form it will take more expenses for it to get done.

Bitcoin is a store of value,  it can converted from one currency to another without losing any value.  Their are other physical form in which people can consider to be a better way to store their assets,  but getting it done it can take expenses that will make the asset lose value. The potential to make good gain out of an asset without losing its initial value proves the worth of the asset and this is exactly what bitcoin is as a good store of value .

Bitcoin is a very simple and hassle-free investment set, you buy it and then store it in your personal wallet without needing to provide a large space or levy storage taxes. Apart from that, the thing I really like about Bitcoin is its resistance to inflation. since the first Bitcoin when it made a splash and passed the price of $10,000, Bitcoin has been trusted by many investors to maintain the value of their money. Bitcoin cannot be manipulated by government policy, the current value of Bitcoin is a form of trust among many people.
992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have 1BTC So how did I use to invest in different Coins on: September 11, 2023, 07:17:40 AM
I usually Invest a very small amount of bitcoin to another coin because I know this time is very crucial to invest in any new coin or even in an old coin.
Any suggestion from your side which is good for long term

If you have plans to invest in altcoins by converting the bitcoins you have, that's fine, but you have to be able to find an altcoin that has a good use case and reputation, don't let the investment you make actually cause you big losses, options like bnb, ethereum and Avax can you make your main choice, try to avoid meme tokens and NFT tokens because meme tokens and NFTs are only based on hype.
993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government vs Bitcoin on: September 10, 2023, 09:10:36 PM
Governments frequently misunderstand bitcoin innovation.
This impression arises from the disproportionate bans and regulations they enact.
Although occasionally the bitcoin regulations appear unreasonable, I posit that bitcoin is not as detrimental as suggested. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I am 100% sure that governments around the world have assigned people to study what Bitcoin is in detail, but they will definitely reject it because they discovered that they cannot control Bitcoin. governments in many countries don't like it when their power of control over something is weak, they only like and support things that they can control and which only benefit them while they feel that bitcoin is not profitable at all. but there is nothing to worry about, so far bitcoin has continued to grow without support from governments in many countries.
994  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: September 10, 2023, 08:39:04 PM
What kind of La La Land are you living in where any business that's started today is guaranteed to make money the next day, it might be true to some level but I don't think that it's a real thing, most businesses that are still starting are working on losses because they've invested money to the business so any money that they get from their customers aren't considered a profit yet but a break even for awhile. The only business that is likely to have that are those Ponzi scheme businesses that prey on unknowing people and will only benefit the head of that scheme.

Just has you have said, business never work that way. It mostly take some months even years sometimes before profit are made in a business. This now depends on the business you venture into

A strong business must start from the bottom slowly and then grow rapidly and usually this takes months, months or years, but there are some businesses that experience a large increase in attention in a short time (hype business), this type is usually difficult to survive for long because the foundation that the business was built on was not solid.

The majority of beginners who get involved in cryptocurrencies definitely think that Bitcoin and altcoins can give them huge profits overnight, that's always a thinking trap. whatever business you want to start, always remember to lower your expectations, don't let the expectations you have actually make you lose in the future (no big business is built overnight)
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: September 10, 2023, 08:11:25 PM
People shouldn't be pressured in to doing anything other than being pressured to "do their homework".  As a financial advisor I'm constantly pressuring people to simply look at their financial situations and do homework on investments and things of that nature, never pressuring them to take action to purchase anything, but simply taking that action to see if purchasing investments made since for their situation.

I'm glad things worked out for your Mom in this sense.

Is reporting the right thing a compulsion? but we are currently in an era where when we preach the right thing, we are seen as someone who is pushy, I don't find anything wrong with us talking to someone about bitcoin, it's your right to talk but the approach you take must make they are comfortable because things that start with a hasty attitude will only end badly. parents are the people who gave birth to us, they have been used to giving us lessons since childhood, so it is very natural for them to reject the bitcoin that we explained at the beginning.
996  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't look for investment, just hodle! on: September 10, 2023, 07:38:20 PM
...

To avoid all this,  it become paramount to only abide by one rules which is to keep Bitcoin in your wallet and stop looking for investment that are centralized to reduce your risk.

Just a friendly advice!

Everyone has different reasons for getting into Bitcoin, some have investment goals, starting a business, and becoming a trader, Whatever they do can't be limited, it's just that there are many beginners out there who don't follow the advice of the senior because they are too lazy and too idealistic. like my friend who invested a lot of money in meme tokens but currently his investment is making a loss even though I have warned him that don't just put money in, look first at the reputation of the project, prioritize buying bitcoin.

why do newbie investors often buy new crypto assets rather than old ones Because they hope that the new crypto assets will experience drastic price increases like the old crypto assets!
997  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 09, 2023, 09:20:08 PM
If we look at people who are very rich today, especially those around us, they are not playing with 100% luck, there is a big and tough struggle that they are doing behind it all, my uncle is a logistics entrepreneur, he once told me that when he first started his business he had to work every day for 7 days without stopping and monitoring so that the shipment could reach its destination without any problems, now his business is running systematically and he is just at home enjoying his relaxing time, he continues to motivate me that effort will not betray the results.
998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jakarta is in a pollution emergency, Is it caused by crypto mining? on: September 09, 2023, 07:01:29 PM
I have never heard from the news that pollution occurs because of the Bitcoin or crypto mining industry.
In fact, as far as I know, there are no bitcoin/crypto mining companies in Indonesia, all mining is done individually so the scale is very small.
Saying pollution in Jakarta is due to bitcoin mining is a black campaign against Bitcoin.
The government has stated that it is because of emissions from motorized vehicles that it has started implementing work from home for several institutions, and also one of the causes is the housing industry making charcoal briquettes from wood and some of these industries has been close by the authority, and drought is also one of the causes.
Source use machine translation to understand it.

CO2 greenhouse gas is what causes air pollution in Jakarta to become crazy, CO2 which is produced from the process of burning coconut charcoal to make briquettes is indeed fatal, so when you hear the news that bitcoin miners are the cause of air pollution in Jakarta it is just slander.
Based on scattered data, the number of vehicles in Jakarta last year reached 11 million 800 thousand and there is a possibility that the number will increase this year, so the most obvious fact is that the cause of Jakarta's pollution is due to combustion produced by vehicles, factories, power plants and briquettes combustion, not bitcoin mining.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When are we going to see the mempool empty again and 1sat/b confirmations? on: September 08, 2023, 04:11:54 PM
As long as Ordinals and other related shit abuse isn't somehow technically fenced out, I doubt this will happen, I have little faith that we will see "normal" mempool times again. I'm sure miners are happy with the congestion of the past months, though. Blockchain spammers are likely proud of themselves. For the latter all I have is: fuck you!

On Twitter there are many NFT shill accounts that claim they are making big profits from NFTs based on ordinal protocols, one of which is onchainmonkey. since the ordinal protocol appeared, nothing good has happened to Bitcoin, instead The Bitcoin network has gotten heavier and there have even been a lot of congested transactions that have occurred due to heavy network loads.

ordinal protocol developers only care about profit from the shit NFT they sell. liberate the bitcoin network from the ordinals protocol, That's what we should be campaigning for, right?
1000  Economy / Economics / Re: World economy is now being powered by cryptocurrencies. on: September 08, 2023, 03:50:34 PM
Cryptocurrency does not help many people richer, does not help a nation richer.

It mostoy help scam founder, developer teams and scam influencers richer. Many newbies, investors lost money in cryptocurrency.

They even buy bitcoin, that looks a good decision, but stored bitcoin on centralized exchanges and lost coins to scam exits, bankruptcies or scams from close source custodial wallets.

It's quite an exaggeration to say that currently the world economy is powered by cryptocurrencies, many things must be fixed in cryptocurrency to make it a power of the world economy including regulation and adoption (we have yet to see cryptocurrency used around the world). apart from regulation and adoption, there are still many scammers who are in cryptocurrency which also makes investor confidence in cryptocurrency decrease, Maybe in the next few decades the world economy will be powered by cryptocurrency.
