1201  Economy / Economics / Re: Nothing serious, just my own thought on the crypto crackdown. on: June 22, 2023, 02:05:00 PM
...

I also think so. The strict regulatory approach taken by the government, particularly through the SEC, is aimed at protecting users in financial troubles. Even though it looks strict, it is driven by the desire to ensure a safe and secure environment for crypto transactions. However, this strictness may inadvertently cause some crypto users to become more cautious and secretive about their involvement.

regulation is indeed important to protect users and prevent exchange platforms from doing as they please in their operations. but this is also used by the SEC to be able to lock down the movement of crypto and show the crypto community that they don't want Bitcoin and crypto platforms to grow even more in the country.

so what you say that the SEC protects the users is not entirely true. they are just using this for their own benefit and maybe more extreme steps will be taken by them in the future if they want it, so that the crypto doesn't grow even more and threaten the popularity of the USD and disrupt their economy.
1202  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: June 21, 2023, 09:43:28 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?

Trusted gambling sites will definitely keep their users informed about any events or changes that occur to their gambling sites (especially for countries that are not so friendly to casinos and cryptocurrency). changes will always be there and we can't refuse it but if the TOS changes in the casino, they don't inform the user in advance then most likely the site is trying to deceive users (immediately withdraw your money and leave the gambling site before they make it difficult for you to do that).
1203  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 21, 2023, 08:41:49 PM
This is true, one can't compare the degree of safety between performing KYC for trusted companies versus brand new or shady projects. However, KYC always carries a risk, we have seen many times with leading companies in their sector, like in Ledger's case where data from 270K crypto wallet buyers were exposed: so no matter how big and secure the company is, there can always be weak points. In fact, the larger the company the more likely it is to be targeted.

KYC data can never be secure because there is always the possibility that the gambling site where we play (even the big ones) will experience a data leak due to internal and external factors that occur. After all, the choice is ours (whether to continue gambling activities at gambling sites that require KYC or switch to gambling sites that do not require users to do KYC)

including KYC on gambling sites must be with the consent and self-awareness of the user, don't be unable to withdraw money just because of inaccuracy from the start.
1204  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC fighting for the publics my ass on: June 21, 2023, 03:49:31 PM
we know that this investment firm has a great influence on politics in America and they take advantage of this opportunity to be able to suppress other crypto exchanges through the SEC and then they lobby the government to be able to smoothen their crypto exchange operations and monopolize crypto exchanges in the US.

something like this happened in my country too, when 10 entrepreneurs took part in a government tender for a legal crypto exchange and paid some money to win the tender to the government. some of these businessmen are even involved in the practice of bribery and gratuities to officials so they can win this tender. this is done by them because later through this legal crypto exchange platform crypto exchanges in our country will be carried out and you can imagine how much profit this platform has and because of that they use all their resources to be able to win the tender.
1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A hilarious video that shows so many persons ignorance about bitcoin on: June 20, 2023, 03:21:59 PM
I read somewhere in this forum, I can't particularly place the section but the person said, there's no one in this century who hasn't heard about Bitcoin and who doesn't know the future it holds for us and I was of the opinion that that can't be true.

Judging from my immediate family, I could tell my parents may know that there's something called Bitcoin and that's because myself and siblings hold random discussions about it.

Going through my Facebook account yesterday, I also discovered a very funny trending hilarious video that support my notion.

https://www.facebook.com/kobokocomedian/videos/1312697769656434/?app=fbl😂😂😂

we can't blame them for preferring cash over 2 Bitcoin which is worth much more than that cash due to their limited knowledge about Bitcoin and its value at the moment. Moreover, the interview was conducted in a developing country whose citizens rarely hear information about Bitcoin. even in developed countries, there are still many people who are not familiar with Bitcoin and Altcoins, especially in countries like that.

so that's the importance of our role in being able to spread information about bitcoin wherever we can, I'm sure that the more active we are in providing information about bitcoin on social media or those closest to us, the adoption of Bitcoin will increase and it will definitely benefit all of us.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: June 20, 2023, 02:25:26 PM
The phasing out of paper money is a complex process that involves multiple factors. While some countries have already made significant progress in transitioning to cashless societies, others are still heavily reliant on cash transactions. One of the main drivers of the shift towards digital payments is technological innovation. With the rise of mobile banking, contactless payments and cryptocurrencies, consumers are increasingly turning to digital alternatives to traditional cash transactions. This trend is particularly evident among younger generations who are more comfortable with technology and more likely to adopt new payment methods. Phasing out paper money is not without challenges. There are concerns around financial exclusion, as some people may not have access to the technology required to make digital payments. There are security concerns around digital payments as cybercrime and fraud become more prevalent. It is difficult to predict exactly when paper money will no longer be in circulation.

paper money will continue to be used by people for their various needs. even when many people use digital money, paper money will be the choice because it doesn't require internet, can be carried anywhere in the pocket, is free of personal information, and when needed, paper money is very valuable during an economic crisis.

and this is also the reason why many rich people in the world keep paper money in their safes, because the money they keep in the bank cannot be cashed out at any time, so when they need cash for urgent needs they can use their cash stored in their vaults. so paper money will continue to exist and be people's choice.
1207  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Apakah Jaringan Blockchain Bitcoin yang Paling Canggih? on: June 20, 2023, 01:20:23 PM
...

1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: German Bundesliga Season 22/23 - Discussion & Prediction Thread on: June 19, 2023, 09:25:58 PM
...
Bayern Munich players don't cost a fortune but their qualities are extremely valuable. Bayern Munich has estimated finances for the transfer market, and it is extremely likely that they would scout potential players for the club. Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel prevailed in a few accolades with his new club, and he is working hard to take the club to new heights with the addition of new players to his roster. Bayern Munich is a top elite club in the Bundesliga, with the best league performance. The Bavarians have been looking for a great striker since the departure of Robert Lewandowski, and they have missed his presence in the Allianz Arena.

getting a great striker like Lewandowski is something that until now has not been fulfilled by Bayern. there are even rumors that Sadio Mane will leave Bayern because his performance at Bayern does not match the expectations of management and fans.

Quote
Bayern Munich are starting to be moved to use a young striker. The German League giants are reportedly not allowing Malik Tillman to leave. Malik Tillman, of course, his name is still foreign to football lovers. He is a striker who came out of the Die Roten academy, but was overlooked because in previous seasons they preferred to rely on Robert Lewandowski.

I read in an article that Bayern in the coming season will focus on young strikers because they also haven't found a replacement for Lewandowski, we'll see how the news goes, however, Bayern will have to fight hard to improve their performance.
1209  Economy / Economics / Re: I don't believe you on: June 19, 2023, 05:41:40 PM
You don't know the owner, but what makes you sure to deposit bitcoin to exchange?.

what makes you sure that your Bitcoin arrived safely and was not taken away by the owner?

I always thought that,
same as banks, I don't want to save it for long time, because banks often go bankrupt, and the owner run overseas.

even though a centralized exchange is not a safe place to store Bitcoin assets, it is still the most efficient place to be able to exchange Bitcoins or staking to get rewards. I personally use a centralized exchange to exchange or buy Bitcoins and so far I have never had a problem with the platform I use. so not all exchange platforms are unsafe, there are still those that really maintain their reputation.

but for holding in the long term, it's true what you said that it's much safer to store in a custodial wallet, because we can manage our own assets freely without worrying that our assets will be stolen by other people, but with the note that the private key is stored properly, other than that the custodial wallet is very secure to use.
1210  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Multiple timeframes is another means of getting better market clarity on: June 17, 2023, 05:54:56 PM
using more TFs might be a bit inconvenient for many traders, bearing in mind that monitoring one TF requires a different approach from one to another. I personally use 2 TF, the first is hourly and daily. I find more suitable using this 2 TF especially when the market is a little unstable, I use more TF per hour because it's much easier to monitor the market using this TF. I just need to analyze and draw a line and determine which point to go out or enter.

but for those whose style does not suit short trading, it is best to avoid TF of an hour or so, bearing in mind that the smaller the TF, the smarter you must be in determining points to sell and buy quickly. because if you choose the wrong step, in a matter of minutes your money can disappear, so one must be smart to choose a TF that suits their trading style.
1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to fight with FUD about Bitcoin on: June 17, 2023, 04:45:06 PM
I'm an active participant in quora. Mostly I'm engaged in cryptocurrency discussion in Bengali. My purpose is simply to fight against FUD, misinformation. I have been doing this actively for long time now. I have engaged in debates in quora.

For the last few years, I'm trying to have a debate about Bitcoin with Mohammad Ghoni who was a Professor in a private university of Bangladesh. He claims himself as a economic analyst.

However, his negativity against Bitcoin is totally stupid. In fact, it seems he is biased when talking about Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. He talks nonsense as if he doesn't know anything about Bitcoin. He is spreading wrong information about Bitcoin in quora. It's simple, when you don't know anything perfectly and you want to talk about that, you will only generate some stupid text.

I tried to engage with him in his responses. I'm ready to have a debate with him. The problem is he doesn't reply when someone wants to talk against his stupid opinion. He simply put answer on quora and then leave. I have replied in many of his answer in quora but never got a reply.
Now, I'm getting more concerned because he is spreading negativity in most of the questions. What can I do? Is there anything legal step someone can take, any foundation working on such issue? Or how can I invite him for a debate? I can simply put him on ignore but I'm also concerned about people getting wrong message. That's why I'm thinking something different.

what you did was correct, you should be able to defend your argument and still refute the various statements he gave about bitcoin. but you also can't limit the thought of him saying that bitcoin is a useless thing. it was his right to say that because we can't force someone to think the way we want them to.

my advice is that it's better if you don't think too much about what he said and stay focused on your stance. if he opens a thread and then runs away, you can also do that and open more threads than he did. you can ask questions about fiat and compare it to Bitcoin or various other things.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 17, 2023, 06:42:59 AM
Generally  I believe  women wouldn't want to be seen gambling openly because of the stigma that might be attached to it.
No one likes to loss not even the men or the women but I think the men can easily cover their shame while it might be difficult  for women to do the same if been mocked.
Gambling  has now been made easier through online gambling where one doesn't necessarily need to go to any physical casino but rather so all his or her bet privately even from her phone and I believe this will be at the  favour of woman.
I really don't think there is any major difference  between the men and women in times of gambling  but the major difference  is the stigma attached to women gambling.

Personally I really like slots and to be honest it felt like I enjoyed it (a lot different when I bet sports) so I slightly support the research posted by the OP. but in many countries, I'm 100% sure that people's stigma against women who are seen gambling is a bad woman, so it's better for now that women only play in online casinos rather than offline casinos, take care of your family's self-esteem even those who are married because your family will definitely be against your gambling habits, they will definitely feel embarrassed if other people find out.
1213  Economy / Economics / Re: The SEC is right. It's not about Bitcoin, it's about centralized shitcoins. on: June 17, 2023, 06:15:56 AM
I'm tired to read all the comments in the vein of "the SEC is threatening the crypto world" or "the SEC wants Bitcoin to stay small".  Roll Eyes

The SEC's action against Coinbase and Binance has quite clear accusations: these exchanges allowed trading of securities without being authorized to do so. And they offered services like "staking" which are quite similar to bank products and thus also need authorization.

Is any of these accusations related to Bitcoin? No. The SEC has already clarified that Bitcoin is not a security. So the accusations have nothing to do with Bitcoin.

...

who said that the actions taken by the SEC were targeting Bitcoin? of the many posts I've read, none of them mention that the SEC is targeting Bitcoin, but what they do to exchanges like Binance and Coinbase can have a significant impact on the crypto market globally and it really affects the valuation of Bitcoin. So indirectly, their actions also have an effect on Bitcoin and other coins.

also, this means that Bitcoin and other coins have the potential to be banned in America if they so choose. they just need to mention that bitcoin threatens the existence of the dollar and ban it, I believe that the global crypto market will drop significantly. so the actions taken by the SEC also don't need to be justified because they really have bad intentions towards cryptocurrencies.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think topics/discussion on gambling addictions is too much on: June 16, 2023, 08:56:55 PM
Regardless, there are already quite a few threads that do aim in the same direction even though the initial thread is slightly different but in the end the discussion returns to habits and addiction in gambling.
But on the other hand, in this case there are some distinguishing factors or stories in the beginning which may also be a consideration where the cases in it lead to the same thing.
Such as
Gambling addiction causes ear deafness?
Gambling is a choice.
Borrowing money for gambling.
Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling
Women's gambling addiction

All of them have various stories and of course the discussion also varies, but in the end it remains the same, the longer the discussion is carried out, it will lead to the same direction about addiction in gambling.
Not that in this case I say the topics I entered above are bad because they are indeed good and appropriate topics but sometimes there are some conditions where the discussion widens and ultimately discusses in the same direction, namely addiction.

I don't know why now the moderators don't immediately lock topics that have led to spam (which are discussed over and over again) lower. I will try to report to the moderator about topics that have actually been discussed and have low quality to discuss, I hope that all of us will also be active in working together to clean up gambling threads from topics that are actually not that useful to be discussed continuously.
1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: June 16, 2023, 08:40:38 PM
I think the young man did a good job, but his father refused the money because he was a conservative person. He should think of ways to spend the money without telling his father about it. He can buy Bitcoin with his money and thus manage to hide it from his father. The young person in the news is over 18 years old. His father must now respect him in some matters. He may have conservative views on some issues, but he must respect his son's choices. Otherwise, they will have different discussions within the family and they will never be able to establish a healthy dialogue.

that son must have loved his father so much that he told his father about his big gambling win, but he did not understand more deeply about the character of his parents. conservative parents have a high degree of aversion to gambling (especially those who are truly religious) and it is difficult to change the perspective of parents with that type because for them money is not the most important thing but staying away from sin is the most important (I also have parents with this type of hardness and it's hard to change their way of thinking).
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 16, 2023, 08:15:54 PM
I'm not specific to any religion and hopefully, no members here will mention any religion, the topic is in general and not specific to one's religion

Can a compulsive gambler that is newly converted to one religion, compel him to stop gambling?

When we talk about religion it's about changing our ways, ideas, and beliefs so when we successfully help one compulsive gambler to convert from an example to an atheist to one's religion can we compel him to stop gambling?

Is it possible that he will continue playing but secretly?

We cannot know 100% about the contents of a person's head and heart, so a gambler who has just converted (from an atheist to a religious believer) still has a tendency to play gambling secretly (it is difficult to fully recover 100%). gambling is addictive, without being monitored closely, then someone who has just recovered from his gambling addiction still has the opportunity to return to his bad habits, now it's back to that person, if he really has a strong determination to stop then he will definitely fight for it.
1217  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Isu Resesi 2023, Peluang Beli Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2023, 07:44:19 AM
...

1218  Economy / Economics / Re: I thought there was an egg shortage. on: June 16, 2023, 06:42:09 AM
I thought there was a global panic over egg supplies. Not so long ago they were rationing sales. This morning I bought some boxes of 6 big and fresh eggs for just 21 pence. The normal price is £1.40. It just shows how food prices and distribution is being manipulated to rip us off. That is if we aren't aware and exploiting the situation for our own benefit. The eggs were on sale at a m ajor Asda supermarket in Hampshire, England.

the manipulation of the distribution of foodstuffs is a real thing. usually the distributors will hold their food stocks to make price increases in order to increase their profits and create high demand in the community. and it seems that the government can do nothing about this even though they are aware that there is manipulation in the distribution and price of food.

I remember that in my country usually those who distribute eggs from farmers are certain people who win the tender. they will usually play the price to be able to determine the price according to their profits. when there are sellers who sell eggs below the market price, they will monitor these sellers and intervene as much as possible with these sellers. so it's not surprising that these sellers don't dare to sell eggs below market prices because they're afraid they'll be intimidated by the distributors.

1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 15, 2023, 07:49:45 PM
Yes, that's right, at least only the players who may be retiring soon and they will be willing to play here for extra money. Because after all, if the Saudi Professional League becomes more popular then of course there are many young players who are willing to also play here like for example Mbappe, maybe. But yes, as we know, young players will certainly pursue their dreams of playing in Europe. What's more, nowadays there are many European teams owned by wealthy rulers from the Middle East, so they or young players will certainly prefer to play in prestigious competitions in Europe.
The league can attract young players from leagues in developing nations. Some African and South American young players would find the Saudi Arabia league profitable because of the pay. An average player in Saudi Pro League earns more than some top players in some leagues. But the league can attract quality young players because they have big dreams and aspirations to win trophies in Europe. It is amazing to see that many of these veterans are not considering the US Super League like before. It was common to see players moving to the US soccer league before. But it seems the focus now is on the Saudi league. The move of Messi to the Major League might lure more players to the US. Some of these Saudi Billionaires may start running a network of clubs in Europe and the Middle East where players would be easily transferred from one club to another with less restriction.

The clubs in the SPL are quite smart because they don't want to recruit young players, they only choose old stars who have extraordinary services even though they have to spend enormous amounts of money, of course for their dreams and targets to be fully achieved in the future (to host the world cup).

with the arrival of cristiano ronaldo, ngolo knate and benzema, the spotlight of the football world will go to the SPL, we can say al ittihad and al nassr are very lucky to have these two big stars.
