1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Michael J Saylor become the richest man in the history of mankind? on: April 22, 2023, 02:01:04 PM
Who will know in the future, but the number of bitcoins held by microstrategy is not so large that it can make him the richest man in the world, if by only relying on bitcoins as a calculation of the number of wealth assets then if anyone holds more than 1 million bitcoins  then that person will become the richest person in the world (seeing the potential for bitcoin to pass through ATH and create new ATH continuously).
1422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: April 21, 2023, 01:47:56 PM
...
If we are aware on this then it can help us to have a good trading performance, you can also trace back your attitude and why you have that kind of attitude whenever you are trading. Remember that controlling emotion is one of the crucial part in investing and trading cryptocurrency. It will takes months or even years for you to fully master it so you should be aware that it is really hard and make sure to have patience as well.
Ah, emotions. They're that uninvited guest who crashes the party and leaves chaos in their wake. Sure, they bring some fun, but usually, they're troublemakers. But hey! I present the revolutionary "I Don't Care" technique to conquer your emotions once and for all. As simple as it sounds!

Here's the deal: when panic or overconfidence strikes, chant "I don't care" like a mantra. Magically, your brain heeds the call and emotions vanish! But there's a teensy weensy catch: it's utter balderdash. Ignoring emotions doesn't banish them. They're the persistent stain on your fave shirt – ignoring it won't help. Rather than suppressing emotions, comprehend them. Reflect on the root cause and leverage that insight for wiser choices. Not a breeze, but more effective than feigning indifference!

so we can distinguish between professional traders and those who are still beginners or intermediate. a fairly good trader has the following percentage of decision making > 40% technical analysis 35% fundamental 25% emotion (because a trader is a human being, emotions will definitely keep appearing and disturbing).

if emotions are higher than skill in trading then it can be called gambling (because the decisions that occur when gambling are only based on emotions or assumption), I personally do not agree with the use of excessive emotions when trading.
1423  Economy / Economics / Re: Look for what to invest, not what to eat on: April 21, 2023, 01:20:57 PM
...
Will you invest now or you will be like that person that is looking for what to eat? It will be favourable if you can change that attitude of selling what will make you great in future just because of what will survive you at the moment. No way you will invest in BTC today and you will not have something good to eat because, investment is like a seed planted in a due season to expect something good in the future. Is it a good thing to invest or is good to continue looking for what to eat?
What do you think.

surely you often hear the phrase "not everyone is lucky" and it is very common. I think the people who are selling their accounts - who are selling their bitcoin right now - who don't care about investing (only care about what they eat right now) are people who aren't lucky at all.

can we change that, the answer is very unlikely because every person's mind is unique and only certain people can see the opportunity. just look around you and your closest people, how many people do you know invest their money in bitcoin? there must be little or nothing, this proves that not everyone can be what we think, so focusing on ourselves, in my opinion, is the most reasonable right now.
1424  Other / Meta / Re: 786 posts merited (by me) in just under 13 minutes–What’s got over me? (v 34.0) on: April 21, 2023, 12:41:07 PM
Create merit for yourself by giving it to those who want to receive it.  It's almsgiving to make this forum a better place.
And how do you create merit for yourself? You can only earn merits by your useful and quality posts unless you are a merit source who is getting monthly allocation apart from what you earn to distribute on the forum. But what you want to say? We should give merits who want to receive it because everyone wants it to rank up but only to those who deserves it there is big difference in both the terms.

@firesurfer This is a forum, not a place for almsgiving and the merit that is given to each post is proof that the post made by that person touches the giver of merit. As long as you know if merit is given arbitrarily (almsgiving) it will cause many bad effects such as jealousy and dissatisfaction, besides that giving merit is ineffective (posts that deserve to get merit don't get it), then merit sources must give merit properly on posts that are appropriate not for almsgiving.

1425  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoins vanished in one day when we woke up? on: April 21, 2023, 12:25:26 PM
Is there a situation where we woke up one day and found out all our bitcoins vanished? Blockchain or DLT has a common explanation where it is calculated to solve double spending problem which represent a incomparable transaction that are solve through the computers in the network?

Is this meaningless disappearance, like just disappearing, without any reason?

^ if this is what you mean then I don't know if it will happen but seeing the resilience of bitcoin until now (even though in essence what is created by humans has a chance to disappear but for bitcoin I don't think that will happen) the possibility of it happening (bitcoin disappearing) is very small.

just rest assured that Bitcoin won't go away even if there are issues/rumors quantum computers can hack it (sounds like a fairy tale) lol.
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you want bitcoin to stay? on: April 21, 2023, 06:12:34 AM
...

What is your reason why bitcoin should stay in the next 100 years! when the government are worried about it?
Maybe our opinions about bitcoin can give hedge to the government.

Bitcoin has changed my life 180%, so I am already emotionally attached to Bitcoin and want Bitcoin to last for a long time even for my children and grandchildren to be able to enjoy the benefits of Bitcoin. the government will continue to change (the old will be replaced by the young) and I really want the current generation to have a visionary leader in each country.

the government actually has a duty to prosper their citizens by sharing the decisions and policies that they issue and hopefully in the future Bitcoin can be received in society and the government (especially I hope for my country).
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 21, 2023, 04:00:58 AM
I still hard to believe if a gambling addict will stop and realized if they was wrong with their gambling habit, because there are many gambling addict get forced by their parents to not gamble and get kicked from their company, but it doesn't make them to stop gambling.

There's nothing wrong about this thread, but if you hope you can help an addict by creating this thread, you shouldn't hope to high.

Gambling addicts will never gamble responsibly because the negative effects of their addiction make it difficult for them to make good decisions. I never agree with a gambler being forced directly to stop gambling, it is like a smoker being forced to stop smoking directly.

just like how we live a life full of responsibility, gamblers must also be directed to be able to gamble responsibly such as knowing the time limit for gambling - not having debt for gambling when running out of capital - not committing crimes.

even though it is difficult, gambling with responsibility will make a gambler not turn into a gambling addict.
1428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: April 21, 2023, 03:30:59 AM
I guess for someone to call him or her self a trader you need to control your emotions right, now after having that emotion in control and other basic things a trader should know you have all under control and still loss more then getting profit.

*What else is required for such a person to control,is it still his or her emotions or what next?

*And what will be your advice to a person in that position or state and what kind of trader are you going to call such a person?

Good emotional control alone will not be enough to make a trader avoid losses. The strategic factors that are carried out also greatly affect the outcome of a trader's decision.
a professional trader does not appear overnight, it takes experience - perseverance - also repeated failures to order the skills and instincts of a trader to become more accurate.
try to make a good trading strategy, set a plan for when to enter or exit the market, continue to deepen technical knowledge, and also don't forget fundamental knowledge. once again traders who never lose only exist in fairy tales.
1429  Other / Meta / Re: why bitcointalk don't advertise anywhere. on: April 21, 2023, 02:15:33 AM
While viewing football during weekends I see companies like Stake, Sportbet.io and many others advertise on the display boards and also sponsor football clubs and I also see them here advertising.

But I have never seen bitcointalk advertisment anywhere but yet there is traffic.
It is true that social media platforms like Facebook, twitter and Instagram does not also advertise anywhere but people advertise for them indirectly when they sample their profiles which will include their twitter and Instagram handles.
I have never seen: contact me on bitcointalk @Stephen.
Any special reasons for not advertising bitcointalk forum?
And don't we think there will be shortage of users here as time passes?

In order to keep this forum healthy (away from unauthorized persons) there is no need to advertise it. You also have to be able to distinguish between real forums - social media - forums that seek to raise money. Apart from that, because the initial purpose of creating this forum was a discussion about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies (or development), so it is not important to pay for ads on Google.

1430  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay your debt with monkeys! on: April 20, 2023, 04:26:51 PM
...
Of course, there are a few questions about it and darker aspects of this:
- I don't know how a species that numbers over 1 million can be considered endangered, but let's leave it like that
- even if they have 1000 zoos that means 100 monkeys of the same species for each zoo and that is just not real
- what they are going to do for real with them, and most hint at labs testing, which stops being funny
- how much of the debt will be really erased for this?

But nevertheless, Sri Lanka is in so much debt that it needs either cash or a way to pay out its debts to China so, probably for the first time in human history monkeys will be used en masse to pay for a portion of that debt, giving a whole new meaning to the term "monkey business".
At $4000 per monkey (google sources) that would make about $400 000 000 (in theory, not including costs), around 5% of the 7 billion they have in debt with China.

So, do you feel like you could show up at your bank and hand them two or three monkeys to cover your mortgage?

I am quite surprised by this news, but looking at the economic side, the sale of these monkeys to China can save Sri Lanka's finances a little, but is there a guarantee that the domino effect will not occur if they are considered pests because they destroy plants, then it is not entirely the monkey's fault, they do have an original wild nature.

but with the number reaching 2 million for a group of endemic monkeys, I think it's overpopulated. it is reported that Sri Lanka has quite a lot of monkey guardians, to protect the welfare of their endemic monkeys, even though they are a little suspicious of the dirty activities they might be carrying out behind the scenes, but I agree with this decision it must be reviewed, don't make needing money as an excuse to do it something that can threaten the population of endemic animals.
1431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advise to a friend on: April 20, 2023, 04:01:34 PM
...

So should I go ahead and advise him to buy Bitcoin or I should leave him to come to me himself? Because he will buy it if I ask him to.

what you do is a form of caring for your friend and who is the loser in that, of course he is, because he ignores you and prefers to buy altcoins instead of bitcoin.
but too much concern can make you an annoying person so you have to stop trying to be a hero for him, and let him buy Bitcoin really with desire in his heart. not everyone can survive in the crypto investment and not everyone will be lucky to choose Bitcoin as their investment.
1432  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical analysis a must know in crypto trading? on: April 20, 2023, 03:38:13 PM
Hello everyone am new here, more like a trader that got by with a bit of knowledge through personal experience (success and failure's) since 2020 but got introduced to this forum by a friend, pointing out that I can find information's and be able to communicate with other enthusiast in the crypto market. I look forward to my experience here.
P.S I have really poor knowledge on bitcoin technicalities, am more of the chart reading and gut feeling type. so I hope am not breaking any of the rules posting here.
Was really curious to understand if technical analysis is vital or just a means to reduce risk. Thanks in advance

I'm sure there is a lot of advice given to you through posting on your topic and it is very important (technical analysis) apart from that another thing that is very important in trading is the fundamental factor, this is to prevent you from making investments that are not as they should be and You can read a little about the fundamental factors in the article below;

Quote
Cryptocurrency investing can be a great way to diversify investments, but figuring out which cryptocurrency is suitable and which isn’t can be challenging. To make an informed investment decision, it is important to know how to analyze cryptocurrencies.
source--

technical + fundamental analysis are two very important things in trading (not only bitcoin trading but altcoins trading too) so don't get tired of continuing to learn and increase your knowledge about trading because everything that is successful in trading now comes from zero knowledge.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 20, 2023, 02:34:27 PM
It's been awhile I try daily to make profit

Stake casino mostly mines

But it take back profit.. I have 2k balance.. is there method

To get 100 $ per day

with a capital of $ 2k, you intend to earn $ 100 / day, I think it will not be easy unless you do other tricks such as having lots of referral members under you who are very active and also have skills in gambling that prioritize skills (poker - blackjack - betting). but if you expect from staking dividends on gambling sites or slot/dice games, I think your chances of getting $100 / day are very small.

Post bursting is not allowed, moreover it is easy to check with ninjastic.space
pengertian bursting post setahu ane kalau tidak salah kan jeda antara satu post ke post selanjutnya sangat dekat jadi terkesan "buru-buru". Nah di dalam ninjastic.space itu yang bagian "Posts in the last 7 days" ngeceknya kah?

3. Saya ga nemu larangan post di Beginners and Help berarti aman yah posting disana?

1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs physical gold price potential on: April 20, 2023, 04:37:57 AM
I make bitcoin a long-term investment because bitcoin has a limited amount while gold has an unlimited amount, and if many countries are busy making bitcoin their currency back up then I am sure the price of gold will crumble to smithereens.

About 210 tonnes of gold have been mined in human history. So the amount is limited, which is why it keeps its value.

based on the article below, the number has not touched it;
Quote
The best estimates currently available suggest that around 208,874 tonnes of gold has been mined throughout history, of which around two-thirds has been mined since 1950.
source--

but there is something a little strange in my opinion, in this article it is written that the number of unmined gold reserves is only around 57 thousand tons but it is still based on a survey in 3 countries (China - Australia - South Africa) but why are other countries such as rusia not counted, because currently Russia and the US are still actively producing gold reserves (and many are not yet mined),
Quote
About 244,000 metric tons of gold has been discovered to date (187,000 metric tons historically produced plus current underground reserves of 57,000 metric tons). Most of that gold has come from just three countries: China, Australia, and South Africa. The United States ranked fourth in gold production in 2016.
source--

I forget where the topic I have read is, but someone has reported that gold reserves have been found on Mars, which means that the amount of gold cannot be estimated.
1437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you get familiar with threads? on: April 20, 2023, 03:11:06 AM
You can start watching the videos on Andreas Antonopoulos' YouTube channel -----> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJWCJCWOxBYSi5DhCieLOLQ
You can also read Mastering Bitcoin ----> https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook
It gives you the basic ideas after which you can begin your learning journey.
The resources by Andreas are really great to teach you a lot about bitcoin and even if you are non technical person who don't have development phase you still can get good knowledge about it from the first two chapters. His others seminars and videos are also great and I remember his video when he was spreading awareness about bitcoin at $100 and the hall was near to empty and see where we are now rushing to accumulate even one full bitcoin.

Mr. Antonopoulos is a very extraordinary person, I also remember being very interested in listening to and even reading the book he wrote when I saw a video on Twitter showing him teaching about Bitcoin to several people in an almost empty hall, at that time the price of Bitcoin was still very cheap.

his book that I really like is;
- bitcoin mastering (first and second editions)
- the internet of money (all editions)

I'm curious, does Mr. Antonopoulos have plans to make another new book related to bitcoin?
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs physical gold price potential on: April 19, 2023, 08:14:43 PM
Bitcoin is much much more useful than Gold. I mean if it wasn't, there wouldn't be much reason for it to exist.

Gold has a little bit of its market value in its use in electronics. Gold has a lot of its market value in jewelry and other uses of it for aesthetic or ceremonial purposes. But I believe most gold is stored in vaults and used simply as a store of value. Bitcoin doesn't have the electronics and aesthetics/ceremonial uses like Gold does, it only has the monetary use. But Bitcoin is orders of magnitude better in its monetary use case than Gold is.

I like gold, especially in the form of necklaces and earrings because it adds to my aesthetic when wearing clothes on important days (weddings or other events) Grin. but do I make gold my long-term investment, the answer is no, I make bitcoin a long-term investment because bitcoin has a limited amount while gold has an unlimited amount, and if many countries are busy making bitcoin their currency back up then I am sure the price of gold will crumble to smithereens.

Your point about taxation is really interesting. I wonder if governments will eventually try to regulate BTC more heavily to prevent people from avoiding taxes. It's definitely something to keep an eye on. But for now, I'm excited to see where BTC goes and how it evolves as a store of value

in the topic that I once made, I touched on that, so the imposition of taxes on bitcoin holders for me has pros and cons because actually bitcoin was created not to be controlled by third parties, except for yourself. but each country has its own rules regarding bitcoin, some make it legal tender and some make it a commodity asset (as our country does).

what a great achievement @mikeywith, you are from arab (based on your local active board) but you are very active in the mining section and help many active members there. with the abilities you have, the next 5 years won't be boring LOL, right now you're still ranked 31st most merit, hopefully you can reach the top 10 in the next few months, good luck.
1440  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Safest Exchanges in the World on: April 19, 2023, 04:58:19 PM
...

Nothing is completely safe, you could put portion of your funds into hardware wallet and rest on exchange for trading. So you don't lose it all.

Regarding secure exchange, I'd stick with binance (cliché, I know). There are also dexes available on popular blockchain platforms where it's not like 'you completely hand over money' which you could use, but they come with their different share of risks.

for those who really want to make long-term investments, keeping your assets in CEX is wrong, saving in a hardware wallet, software wallet or paper wallet (which you fully control it) is absolutely safe (I already wrote it in the previous post).

because dex gives users full wallet access, dex is the best choice to be safe, but the bad thing that often happens to dex is a lack of liquidity (for active traders, they are hated), so most active traders don't like dex and lean more towards cex. indeed, whether it's dex or cex, they still have their own weaknesses, you need to prepare yourself to choose whether you want to trade on dex or cex, besides that, don't underestimate security. remain skeptical.
