I also got no confidence for Miami Heat this season because their performance during the regular games was not that great but all has been changed ever since they were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks in the first rounds of play-in, and then Jimmy Butler activated his playoffs mode after that with of course the additional of Bam Adebayo and other undrafted players that has been making good gameplay since they defeated the Chicago Bulls to attain a seat in the post season.

Afterwards, they kept on making history and defeated the #1 and #2 in the Eastern conference and became the one and only play-in team to achieve and participate the Finals.

The thing is when a team is inconsistent and is still being able to beat teams like #1 and #2 I start believing that the team is going to actually win when it comes to big matches.
That's why I am thinking of Miami Heat may really take the win.

That is for sure and that's what everyone else is thinking about them and good thing that they're able to get this game 2. We saw how Nuggets wept Lakers easily and that can't be far from happening against the Heat but it's all good now.
They did good and everything for their shooting was perfect unlike game 1.

The Denver Nuggets are still going to be the favorite. Unless the Miami Heat is able to take the 3rd game.
The third game is going to be the pivotal point of this final in my opinion.

I like miami to win but since Nuggets didn't win any championship in their franchise then I'm rotting for this team to win a championship this season. Its good that they get their first championship while they have a chance to do it also its good to see win a championship since he really help his team to reach this far. But still this will depend on how each team perform so let see who wins the trophy this season since both of teams deserve to be a champion knowing those big challenges they face until they reach to finals.

I was just sharing my personal thoughts. Personally, I like to see underdog teams win. But of course in the end it is going to be a victory for the team which actually is going to play better. I also have no doubt that both of the teams are very much capable of beating the other. They are both in the finals for a reason.

I also want to say another thing. People generally do not like teams which are inconsistent. But to be honest I actually like how Miami Heat has reached the finals. They have been very inconsistent. But they are in the finals and that's what matters. And I believe inconsistent teams are unpredictable. That is something I actually like.

...
The game more indeed became more interesting as many thought that Nuggets will dominate Miami again. It was good second half for Miami since they give good hustle to this team. It also good that they made good adjustment on bench since I think Nuggets have problem on their second unit compare to Miami which still have full pack of talents.

Fans belief will be split up on game 3 since provably many has been convince that Miami has a good chance to became a champion thus season.

Both of them have equal chances. My personal preference would be for the Miami Heat to win the final. My favorite thing about sports is when underdogs are able to come out on top as the superior team. There has been a good performance on the part of the Miami Heat this season. However, the problem is that they have actually been pretty unpredictable in the past. So it is actually hard to predict who will win. And the unpredictability is the reason why I think the Miami Heat is going to end up winning in the final.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 05, 2023, 12:04:04 PM
West Indies are much stronger than UAE. The West Indies team is able to defeat the biggest teams in the world, where the UAE team will take on the West Indies is not credible. But the team is able to perform very well than before, the players of the team are growing up day by day.
Exactly West Indies team is much stronger as compare to the United Arab Emirates team. In the first ODI match we saw how West Indies perform and won the match. UAE team gave the target of 203 runs and I was thinking that this is not enough for the West Indies team. And West Indies team chased the in 35 overs and gave only 3 wickets. Lets wait for the next ODI.

West Indies is already leading the ODI series against the UAE (1-0). I don't think the UAE will be able to actually do anything against the West Indies who are far more stronger compared to the UAE. We have already seen a glimpse of the power that the West Indies has over the UAE. UAE was not able to even play out the whole 50 overs. They did not have many meaningful partnerships. They had only one individual score to actually talk about.

I think the whole series is going to go like this where the West Indies will dominate and the UAE will try. But actually fail to have any meaningful impact. Maybe if instead of hiring players from another country if they actually started looking for talent in their own country they would have found good enough talented players by now.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best open source hardware wallets for BTC? on: June 05, 2023, 10:50:02 AM

Some are using trezor and they say it is open source and cheaper than Ledger. In my opinion, I don't think anything is 100% secure, and Ledger is an example. We trusted them for years until they announced their damn service. The best way is that you divide your assets into parts and store them in different wallets, I think only then will our assets be more secure.

I think Ledger sold itself to the government. They were pushed to comply with KYC through their own little service. But the community is not stupid. Most hardcore crypto users will now abandon Ledger products because of this. It's a pity because I've thought the company stood for crypto's original values. With open source hardware wallets, you don't need to trust the company other than to verify the code if everything is secure. Who knows if these alternatives ultimately beat Ledger in the long run?

It can be said that what Ledger did has disappointed many people. But we need to realize one thing, all these hardware wallet companies are in business, and they are regulated by the government. If the government cannot control the bitcoin network, then of course, they will target exchanges, hardware wallet companies, or all the companies that provide bitcoin related services to control bitcoin indirectly. I also fear that other hardware wallet companies like Trezor will be unable to avoid government pursuit. They won't stop until they reach their goal. So I have more worries in the future, we should find another solution instead of like before, always thinking that hardware wallet is the safest.
A HW device can remain safe if it is not assembled / created by the hands of such companies as Ledger or Trezor. I am inclined to believe that sooner or later any manufacturer of hardware wallets may come under pressure from states, and even ideological companies (supporters of the ideas of the cryptocommunity) will be forced to surrender. Therefore, I believe that the safest HW wallet will be the device that you assemble with your own hands. The BTC-community needs to look in this direction and develop such an opportunity, when even an ordinary user without special technical skills can assemble such a device as a designer. Assembled the physical part, installed the firmware, connected it to electrum and use it.

Decentralized hardware wallets must also be decentralized, otherwise all this decentralization becomes meaningless. Bitcoin in your wallet should not depend on HW manufacturers anyone.

Certainly, the government will not stop with Ledger, they will continue to attack other hardware wallet companies is inevitable. I understand the solution you are suggesting. But how and how can we assemble a hardware wallet for ourselves? How is it that an ordinary person like me, who knows nothing about hardware engineering or basic assembly techniques, can do it on my own?

I am also struggling to find another solution because I know that it is only a matter of time before hardware wallets are controlled by the government. I am also considering using a separate computer or smartphone with the Electrum wallet installed and dedicated to storage only. I don't know if it is more secure than a hardware wallet?
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 05, 2023, 09:55:01 AM
I was shocked. Shocked I am one of the NBA fans that thinks the Miami Heat is totally underrated and they proved something today. First, they broke the perfect playoff home record of the Nuggets. Second, they started heavy by not letting the Nuggets score for 4 possessions, iirc. Finally, they closed the game strong and did not an overtime happen.
Right now, it got me curious on who will win this championship because before I was so sure it will be the Nuggets. It seems like Erik Spoelstra has still a lot of tricks in his sleeve and it's being shown now. Using Kevin Love in the first 5 was a risky move but it worked out fine. He returned on a play that uses Duncan Robinson as a threat like how he did it against the Celtics, almost like DeJa'Vu actually.
All I could say is, cheers to Miami Heat, that's some good basketball.
They've been underrated even before the playoffs and that's why these paper predictions and thoughts about them, they've proved it to be wrong. And for the 2nd game of theirs against Nuggets, we all knew it that they'll have hard time beating them.
But again, they've proven that they're more than what's expected on them. Despite being the underdogs up to beating Celtics and winning the ECF. Now, they won't just allow the predictions to tell them their fate.

I said it. I had a feeling that the Miami Heat was going to win the second game. Because they know very well that if they do not win the second game there is a high chance that they will not be able to make a comeback. Now it has become a lot more interesting. The Miami Heat was actually in trouble in this game. I did not think that they would actually be able to catch up to the Denver Nuggets after being behind on the scoreboard. But in the last quarter, the Miami Heat should a really good performance and actually came out as the winner of the game.

Kai Havertz is one of Real Madrid's targets but there is no agreement yet https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1665376608448905219
Yeah it seems like Kai Havertz is Real Madrid's top target and I am very much surprised after reading this news. I wonder how Ancelotti is actually planning to use him. The only thing that comes up in mind is to use Havertz like the way Chelsea used i.e as false 9. The formation that Madrid usually uses has no space for attacking mid-position where Havertz himself very comfortable in. That really leaves me wondering on what are Ancelotti plans actually. Huh

Chelsea is reported to be looking for a good amount, at least are looking to get the value they paid to get him which was around 80m Euro so its gonna be somewhat near 80-90m Euro mark for Madrid to actually get Havertz from Chelsea done.

I think Real Madrid is going to be a very desired destination for Havertz. After all, Chelsea is not his first priority right now. He would actually love to leave Chelsea right now. So that might actually help Real Madrid to get him for a little less than what Chelsea might ask for.

But I don't think it is going to be too much different from what Chelsea will be asking. I also agree that the price range is going to be €‎80/90 Million. I thought Real Madrid was going to look for a good striker. A little surprised to see this move from Real Madrid, to be honest. But not a very bad decision as well.

Nothing like a couple days with no basketball to build some excitement. I’m still thinking that Denver has this series but at least Miami got a chance to catch their breath a little bit. Hopefully we can see some good games and the Nuggets don’t sweep another team. I’m starting to fear that the end of this season is approaching way too quickly.

So, the Nuggets are going to be the winners in the end as well. Actully, a 1-0 lead is nothing to be excited about, especially when you're playing in a final. As far as I am concerned, this is not going to be a bad thing for the Nuggets since the break will benefit both teams. However, I do agree that this break was more necessary for the Miami Heat than for the Nuggets. I don't think it is going to be a sweep. I actually trust the Miami Heat to win the next game, to be honest. The lightly good of Miami Heat winning the next game is not that low in my opinion.
1069  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: June 04, 2023, 01:09:37 PM
I don't think, my country economy will be bad like your country economy because our government do everything possible within their capacity to ensure citizens don't feel bad about the current inflation that is affecting other countries citizens. Many investors in my country 80% of them are into cryptocurrency investment, because our government has created more opportunities for the people to take the advantage to support their financial growth in the country. I think, this inflation is about to leave for deflation to occur for people to start saving money, that they will use to invest in cryptocurrency and hold for the price to increase before they can sell to make a passive income.
What country is that? You and others are probably lucky to have a government that actually cares for their people, especially the ones on the lower side of the economy who don't earn much to fight the increasing inflation and face a lot of problems when there is an economic crisis within the country, governments barely care about such people or try their best to fight the inflation.

And when it comes to investments in Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, not a lot of governments in the world are in favor of their people investing their money into them as that will indirectly mean they are losing the power to have financial control over their people.

Except for those countries where inflation is higher than a few tens of percent and lasts for many years, those governments are corrupt and useless. But the countries affected by the last economic crisis cannot say that the government is completely abandoning us and not taking any measures to help the people. It's just that they have unsolvable problems, and there's no one-size-fits-all solution. But instead of waiting for them to come to save us, we should also find a way to save ourselves, not too dependent on them.

I really doubt what this guy says, I don't believe there is a country where 80% of them invest in crypto. We know the percentage of people who know about bitcoin is still very modest unless he is from El Salvador.

After all, I think we’ll all reach one conclusion: the best storage is cold storage by using older hardware (eg. an old laptop). Keep that thing offline and use Electrum, there’s nothing else you’ll ever need, man.

I’m so tired and sick of their BS. All these companies are obviously targets and some of them will kneel to the government. Just.. DIY a great cold storage and roll with it.

I like this method, and I am planning it too, prepare an old pc and install linux os, combine it with Electrum, and keep them always offline. I think it is more secure than any hardware wallet on the market because they are all manufactured by companies, and these companies cannot resist government control. Bad things have happened to Ledger, and if the government doesn't want to stop it, other hardware companies will be next.

I have also seen some investors using this method, a friend of mine had a hard time owning a hardware wallet because their country completely banned cryptocurrencies. Using a separate computer just to store bitcoins and always offline is something he has been doing for years. So far, I haven't heard any problems from him, and they are fine with this method. With what happened to Ledger is something we need to be more concerned about because I think it will not only occur to Ledger, but maybe other companies will also be the next target of the government. They cannot control the bitcoin network, but they can control crypto-related companies. That will also seriously affect us.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you give one reason why I should buy bitcoin? on: June 03, 2023, 12:15:17 PM
I won't give you one, because it doesn't look like you don't know anything about Bitcoin, ...
It's confusing that he's so lazy that he can't do his own research because it's all on the internet. Moreover, he doesn't trust his friend, will he believe what we say? And I'm sure that, no matter how detailed we explain it, it can't be more complete and detailed than doing it all yourself.
This makes me feel, he wants to find someone to blame if the investment goes wrong, he doesn't want to bear the responsibility but wants to receive a reward if everything goes well. Not only does he know nothing about bitcoin, but what he says makes it sound like he is a very stubborn and conservative.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: June 03, 2023, 11:55:27 AM
Funny how all the people her talk about how their children will become rich if you teach them about bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency, do you know what a currency is? A currency is something that is used as an exchange medium for goods and services, nothing more. If you plan to buy bitcoin just for the value increase that may happen in the next years you are simply a gambler because nobody knows what will happen.
So teach your kids about bitcoin so they can use it to be free of state surveillance and can have a decentralized way to store their wealt. But please don’t teach them about bitcoin so they will rich.

I have nothing to argue with you when you say bitcoin is a currency because that's what Satoshi created bitcoin for, but there's also nothing wrong or funny about people treating it like an investment. Everyone has different purposes, and how they want to use it is up to them. Like gold, there are users to store assets, there are users to make jewelry… no one is wrong.
And whether bitcoin is a currency or an investment, bitcoin should not be taught to children who are too young, they are beyond their abilities and minds. Teaching bitcoin to children is certainly a good idea, but it should be age appropriate.
1074  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your bitcoin May/June price analysis? on: June 02, 2023, 05:04:00 AM
As always, the market is divided into two camps, many will expect bitcoin to continue its recovery and conquer other highs in June. Meanwhile, the opposition continues to expect bitcoin to fall further, and I am on the opposite side. I like bitcoin will drop more and better if it can drop to 22k is a very good price for us to accumulate more bitcoins.
Not only this June, and I am not a pessimist either, but I think this year is still a good year to accumulate bitcoin rather than expecting we will have a bull run, although the market will still have small rallies.
1075  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just how bad is the bear demand right now on: June 02, 2023, 04:23:17 AM
the current bear market I think is just as bad but what's more impactful this year, as it is accompanied by global world news that throws things out of control.
but anything else is getting crypto back up, just waiting for the good news to come out.
yes the bear market this time is the same as 2018-2020,
2021 is the beginning of the bear market and until 2023 and there is still no sign that the bear market has finished,
I don't know I'm still waiting for bullish, I heard the news that 2024 will start, is that true?
The bear market this time may be almost over because it's almost time for bitcoin to get a halving.
And with halvings that will happen, hopefully, this year will be the last year for a bear market so at the end of the year or the beginning of the year, we will see a bull market occur.
If that's true, we will be able to get big profits again like before because there are lots of potential coins that have the opportunity to increase greatly.
So we all don't need to worry about the current bear market and it's better just to prepare the coins so we can sell them at the peak price later when the bull market comes.

If that's true, how can we get big profits while we don't hold bitcoin in hand? I mean, people who are scared of the bear market won't invest and don't buy any bitcoins. So how will they get profit? On the contrary, if someone is happy and excited to live in a bear market because they have more time to accumulate bitcoin, then those people are the ones who really make big profits.
Instead of always questioning when the bear market will end, we should take advantage of it to collect as many bitcoins as possible. And let's ask another question, how many bitcoins will we have when the bulls come because our profit is from the bitcoins we hold?
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 02, 2023, 04:00:26 AM
I don't know how I make decisions as a boy.
My father is a military man. He has served in this military sector for 25 years. His term of service is almost at an end. After two months he was going to retire from the job. He will get retirement pension after his service life in the military sector and he has many plans based on this retirement pension.
His first dream is to build a house with this retirement money. But right now in my country all the materials needed to build a house are very expensive so building a house right now can't be a good decision. And I don't feel safe keeping his pension money in the bank because earlier there was inflation in my country where some banks went bankrupt.
So right now I am not able to give him any proper advice as a boy. But one thing I've been wondering for a few days is if I invest half of my father's retirement allowance in Bitcoin, am I doing something wrong?
I feel like if I invest half the amount in Bitcoin for a year after receiving his retirement allowance, I might be able to hand over more money to my dad at the end of the year.
Hope I get proper advice from you.

I know your intention is to want the best for your father. But can I ask you, how old is your father and wants to make more money than he wants, or he just wants to rest after spending his life in the military? For older generations, like our grandparents and parents, they have spent their whole lives working and earning money, and it's time for them to rest and enjoy life.
Bitcoin is a highly profitable investment that young people have always aspired to have, but retirees, I don't think they will be passionate about it. So let your dad decide what to do with his money, you shouldn't interfere. Regarding you, if you want to invest in bitcoin, make an effort with your own hands, we are young, and the opportunities are still a lot.
Retirement can be said to be old age, where people live to enjoy the rest of their lives. I think that if you invest in bitcoin, of course living people still have needs, and of course investing for the long term, it is very profitable to invest in bitcoin, but there is no certainty when you will get a profit. What comes to my mind is when I hear price fluctuations and it suddenly crashes, does it not affect my health later. I agree let father make his choice so that he can enjoy the rest of his life, only health is his treasure

Indeed, not only for OP's father, but I think health is the most important thing that retirees or old people. Money is important but not everything at that age anymore. We all have parents, and I also believe that not too many people guide or give them bitcoin investment advice. Because they really don't fit it. Have we ever thought about what they would be like if they saw the volatility of bitcoin? We should be more concerned with their health than thinking about how they can earn extra money in retirement. At each stage and age, we will have different needs.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 01, 2023, 08:25:55 PM
This is Leipzig's second chance to win a title this season. The first one was the Super Cup match against Bayern Munich but they lost it by a huge score like 5-3. They had a quite good season in the Bundesliga as they made it to top 4 and secured their Champions League ticket in time. But I don't expect this to cause them to be complacent in the DFB Pokal finale of course. This is like the only place without Bayern Munich for Leipzig and Frankfurt both so they had better use this chance nicely.

These teams beat each other once in the Bundesliga this season. But here I'm going on with Leipzig win and I'll bet on it as well. Frankfurt aren't the kind of a team I like anymore. I really appreciated their high effort in the previous season due to winning the Europa League title. But now they are away from that look.

I couldn't agree more with you. Frankfurt seems like they have lost the touch and also probably the winning hunger. It is actually really hard to expect a win from them in this match. Especially when we know that Leipzig is currently performing well. They have had a good consistent performance in the Bundesliga. Leipzig has finished in the top 4 meaning that they will play in the Champions League competition. They would want to end things on a good note by winning this DFB Pokal trophy. But on the other hand, Frankfurt is not going to participate in any European competition in the next season. So they are going to be determined to win at least something from this season and this is the only chance they have left.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: June 01, 2023, 08:13:19 PM
A lot of times we can see huge differences between expectations and reality. I don't know if he will be able to perform well in the test format. But it is not going to be very inhumane to expect a good performance from him in my opinion. After all, he is showing great potential and I honestly believe he is going to be great in the future, especially in white ball cricket. What I am trying to say is if he can perform well in the WTC final it is going to be really great for his future as well. The next few months are actually going to be very important for him indeed.
Expectations are going to be huge. This guy scored 3 centuries in 4 matches during the IPL. Obviously a lot of fans will be unhappy if he fails in England. But people need to realize that conditions are vastly different. Apart from Shubman Gill, some of the other players such as Mohammad Shami will also be under a lot of pressure, after good performances during the Indian Premier League. IMO, there should be separate squads for both the T20 format and the test format. Asking players to participate in multiple format puts them under pressure and increases their workload.

This is a very good idea to have different squads for the different formats of cricket, as this will make the game more interesting. That is going to take a lot of pressure off of the players, and it will also be good for the shorter format players to concentrate solely on the shorter format only, since it is not a very practical idea for them to play test cricket, as it is not a very practical option for them. There is no way a player will be able to stay fit enough to play all the matches in all the formats throughout his/her career.

Galtier will have an even worst season if he stays in PSG for the next season because Galtier couldn't have good performance even after hiring superstar players is PSG while in the next season, I think most of the players like Messi and Neymar will leave PSG ro anther teams and without these players, Galtier will even have harder days in PSG which means he needs to start seeking for alternative players for Messi and other players which can't be easy for any team.
In fact, Christophe Galtier does not have much experience as a head coach, because Christophe Galtier has more experience as an assistant coach. That way, I just don't believe PSG can trust Christophe Galtier to become head coach at a club as big as PSG. So yes, I think PSG don't need many more players to recruit, instead of recruiting a lot of star players it seems it would be better for PSG to start looking for a new coach.
Because after all, Christophe Galtier also only has a contract until the end of next season, which means, Christophe Galtier still has a contract at PSG for only one more season. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with PSG terminating Christophe Galtier's contract at this moment and having a new head coach for next season.

PSG is certainly going to make a mistake if they actually make Galtier the new coach of PSG. It does not matter how much he insists on being the coach.
I think PSG needs to get a coach that will be able to impose his authority over the players and also will actually be able to come in with good experience.
As far as I know, Galtier does not have a good amount of experience managing a team like PSG. So that is going to be a massive mistake from PSG for sure.
