1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to invest in JITO (JTO)? on: December 12, 2023, 02:55:45 AM
Are you speculating on second airdrop because first has already happened that too worth hefty amounts. I'd not suggest to buy it if you were to, cause I feel there is huge fomo right now.
And even if they won't have a second airdrop, we are still going to profit from investing on their coin alone due to the FOMO. If the price of the coin is $1, then it might be considered overpriced because it is only just a new coin but I don't know its starting value. Maybe it is also lower than that?

Yea, but don't get yourself caught in fomo  Tongue

Regarding starting price, coingecko shows $1.47 as lowest value but it's only after Jito got listed on CG as it only tracks prices after listing, I assume it must have been lesser before it got listed on CG as it always seems to be the case with coins. $1 starting price seems about right assumption, but could be wrong ofc.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 12, 2023, 02:46:44 AM
India has got handful T20 matches to play before the T20 world cup, and that too, these matches are getting abandoned. Aside from that, young players have better chance to prove them for selectors against quality team like SA than Afghanistan with whom they are going to play next T20 games. (I know AFG also play well but not better than SA).
1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Layerzero Speculation airdrop on: December 12, 2023, 02:22:33 AM
I am still of the opinion that Layerzero wouldn't confirm about snapshot, just because it'll dry up the activity to larger extent if they would confirm the same. I know starknet confirmed that their snapshot was taken, but farmers of LZ are more than starknet, LZ would try to continue milking them.

Let's wait until official airdrop announcements comes and tells us when snapshot was actually taken, and we'll see truth of Bryan's statement.
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 11, 2023, 01:53:22 PM
Hobart Hurricanes couldn't cash in on Jewell's good knock of 42(24), every other batter that came to the crease was fail. Nonetheless, this match was dragged much for what target score was, but certainly better than losing the game, sensible innings from Daniel Hughes.

Had those two outs were actually out (decision changed to not-out after DRS), Sydney Sixers would have been in huge trouble and might even have lost the game.
1105  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making a New Year resolution plan is Important. on: December 11, 2023, 10:18:52 AM
You don't have to wait for new year to make resolution, whatever factor you wanna improve on, just do it right now. Suppose, you wanna stop drinking alchohol, you just stop with that right now, don't wait for new year.
It's a belief that once you've done things at the first day of the year, it is possible that this will continue and you will completely stop the things you want to avoid.

Pretty sure that belief doesn't work cause, most of people who make new year resolutions, lapse soon after.

It can be done if the thing we are doing can be done instantly, like drinking alcohol is obviously something we can stop doing instantly or right now. But for other things that require a process, of course it requires planning, and one of the things that can be done is with our New Year's resolutions. For example, we want to own a house in 2024, which is impossible to do now if we don't have enough money for it. Well of course there is a process that we have to go through such as saving money and so on. So it depends on what level we want to do and want to have.

I don't get your statement.

If you are planning to have house and don't have means right now, will you suddenly get means on new year day? Ofc not, while if you are talking about saving money for buying house, that can be done right now without waiting for new year.

if you are talking about moving in or purchasing on that day for whatever reason, then yea you are right.
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Arb below 1$ on: December 11, 2023, 10:14:35 AM
Arb has huge unlock coming in March next year, that could hit it a bit but if rally continues, we might continue to go on unscathed. Arb is easy $5-$7, current price is bargain.
Actually i was planning to buy , but sadly the fees of bitcoin is too high that I am waiting
for the fee to drop down so I can convert some of my holding to arb before the halving happens.

Is it? Yesterday, I went with 42 sats fee, transaction got confirmed within couple hours, paid around $2 fee, which is pretty nominal. Once before that, I paid same fee, but since congestion was high, I had to wait for 12 hours. You can do same, make your transaction on night before going to bed and wait, by morning your transaction would get confirmed.

No need to wait for congestion to get over honestly, unless you have to make urgent transfer it doesn't matter at all.
1107  Economy / Trading Discussion / FOMO of bull market on: December 11, 2023, 04:20:02 AM
So, I longed chainlink yesterday, with 10x leverage as market appeared so good. Now, there has been dump and my position got liquidated.

I usually go with 2-4x leverage, and that gives me safer liquidation price however this time I went with 10x leverage, as I thought bulls have arrived, and it's only up from here, and you see how wrong that turned out.

Take whatever lesson you want. For me, it's to stick with 2-4x leverage with which I tend to do good, don't allow greed to enter.

1109  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: December 11, 2023, 04:09:56 AM
Oh so here I have answer for dim display.

I only started using it couple years after receiving it, and it's been dim ever since, I thought I mishandled it but apparently it's cheap in itself. Thanks for mobile camera solution, so far I have been using it in dark to get my work done.

Once it dies, I'm gonna migrate to Trezor.

they might just go on and make every of those 5 millions address eligible and just go with it doesn't matter whether the reward would be low their platform is still being used widely anyway since the utility is strong in itself.

I'd like that if they don't try so hard to filter sybils (which will also exclude many of genuine wallets). History has shown that whenever the project was miserable with their airdrop, it didn't turned out well for project. Examples; PSP, SEI.

but all these are just speculation, the devs are usually having some obscure requirement by the end of the event and we might not be surprised considering such thing already been pulled off by many devs in the past, I guess this layerzero is not an exception.

Indeed, I'm expecting obscure requirement that we haven't seen before.
1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: League and Domestic Cricket discussion on: December 11, 2023, 02:48:49 AM
lol, I didn't know about this thread, I discussed about LLC in T20 thread. Since these were 20 overs match, I think it's alright. Technically, IPL is also domestic, but we discuss it there too.
1113  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to self exclude from anonymous gambling sites on: December 11, 2023, 02:42:50 AM
lol, this is not what I expected when I read the title. I just don't open the website if I don't want to gamble, I think it's better than going roundabout way.
Sometimes, it makes sense for us to try to see and discuss things like this from other peoples perspective, people who are addicted to gambling, and not from our own perspective since we are not addicted.

You are right, that was pretty ignorant from me. But yet, I feel there are better options than staking crypto. Although, right now we are in bull market so staking is probably alright, but otherwise it can bite back. For example, one of my friend, staked dot in last 2021 bull market, dot is significantly down compared to when he staked.

Also, atomic wallet was hacked recently, it's not a safe option to hold your funds.

1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manifesto on airdrops trivialization on: December 10, 2023, 12:03:38 PM
It's possible that the airdrop model will continue to evolve in the future, with developers looking for new ways to attract attention and create an engaged community. In any case, participating in airdrops now requires more effort and attention to detail, and it is important for investors to be vigilant and review the terms of participation before participating in such events.

True, we have come from getting free forked coins for holding certain coin (for example: BTC forks), then in 2017 era, you simply had to give your crypto address and you'd receive your coins, and now we are in trend of retrospective airdrop, rewarding for past activity.

Let's see what airdrop evolution has for us in store for next halving (2028 one).
1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Starknet Airdrop Speculation on: December 10, 2023, 11:52:48 AM
I checked my argent x wallet from a link that speculates I received 2250 STRK coins.

Where did you check?

I think the snapshot is already taken and now, team is busy in managing a airdrop to the stark community. So, let's get ready for a good airdrop. I think it's price can varies in 1.5-2$ when they launched their token in the market.

Yea, snapshot has been already taken, team confirmed it on Twitter (assuming they weren't playing around).

Meanwhile, BBL match for today between Scorchers vs Renegades was called of due to unsafe pitch. This is first time I have heard something like this but from Twitter I gather same thing happened in India vs SL match, in 2009.

Unfortunately, the weather doesn't look promising today; and I doubt there will be any play.

Hope not.
1118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDM to USDT on: December 10, 2023, 11:37:06 AM
But will arguing with them even solve anything? Sometimes support doesn’t care if it was their colleges that gave the instructions. They could even claim that they never asked you to do that. I don’t know so much about coinbase though I think I may have used it in the past, however, if I have a cryptocurrency to convert, pancake comes to mind because it’s simple and decentralized. If the trade can’t happen then it can’t, not all these stories they are telling OP.

Coinbase is oldest crypto exchanges around. Regarding, using pancakeswap I agree, op should have used it, but I guess he didn't cause he's not-so confident about dexes.

Pancake has no customer support if something goes wrong so need to be real sure about any transfers

1119  Local / India / Re: Oh digital rupee is already live!? on: December 10, 2023, 11:27:56 AM
Loading rupee is just flawless, no error at all, but I just went with the smallest denomination possible 2 while irony is there is literally zero merchant in my entire district.

Neither here. Once apps are stable rbi may promote it, also interoperability with upi should help with adoption.

Shouldn't it be successfully? They need rectify typos too   Grin

Has the other banks launched their apps too?

yea, I used hdfc's erupee app. Honestly, I have no idea why each bank launches their own app.

@kentrolla I agree I'm not sure why exactly is erupee created, I read few articles trying to gauge difference between upi and erupee but nothing so far that actually make me say, this was necessary.

I like this, wish other countries would provide such option (No, I do not prefer, El Salvador).
