1121  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is HitBTC a Scam? on: July 14, 2015, 03:06:56 PM
Beware with what you are doing with ring signature based coins, remember they are not the same as regular Bitcoin based coins, if you send it to the wrong place or input something wrong (usually those coins dont even have proper GUI) you can lose your coins. Monero is great but for example, still lacks a GUI.
1122  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to turn 2BTC into 4BTC on: July 14, 2015, 02:57:58 PM
Best way is still dollar cost averaging. Keep buying Bitcoin monthly with a % you can afford to lose. Thats the key to buy a good stack. Everything else is too much risk.
1123  Economy / Economics / Re: The debt crisis explained very well. As a poker game :) on: July 14, 2015, 02:49:46 PM
This is clever, but I can't decide if the people being given chips by the dealer are the wealthy or the poor (in hand outs). In one case hands outs are being given as bailouts to corporations. In another case handouts are being given as benefits or entitlements to the poor. The latter example is similar to what's happened in Greece.

It probably doesn't matter which way one looks at as long as both types of analogy are true.

The challenge I have with all of this is the punch line. If Bitcoin is to be the fair system, this analogy implies that it will remain decentralized and therefore no one entity will be in control of giving handouts, bailouts, or other forgivable loans...I could live with that!

The one dealing all the cards is for sure Ms Merkel. She decides who gets the good cards, and you can get some cheap ones. If you don't like how that works, you get kicked out.
If this was a role playing game, then Lagarde would be the gamemaster, dressed as a lizard, because she looks like an actual reptilian.
1124  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek crisis on: July 14, 2015, 02:41:33 PM
Check the actual data. The prices are actually going to get more expensive for tourists, so less incentive to visit the place. Not only it's a place prone to conflict now because of austerity, but they'll make it more expensive for tourists too.
1125  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece Cannot Pay, Greece Will Not Pay on: July 14, 2015, 02:40:01 PM
This is all a big circus by both Troika and Tsipras. They know they'll never get their shit together. The debt is unpayable, Merkel doesn't even want to remove the 30% of debt suggested by Tsipras. We will end up on the start line again in no time, and we'll have another referendum, only this time it will be "do you want to leave the eurozone?"
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of instant exchanges for users? on: July 14, 2015, 02:36:57 PM
Profesional daytrades need things done fast. A quick dip or uprise and you are missing on a lot of money. Consider that some people are trading 1000's of dollars on small price oscillations.
1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Bypasses Capital Controls in Greece on: July 14, 2015, 02:33:27 PM
This has been discussed in the forums and previously linked, I think these ATM's will be good, but unfortunately people don't have money to buy Bitcoins there... Sad

Also, the picture on the news article is wrong. That's an older Bitcoin ATM, and that one is one way only.

Even if they dont have money, they still can get 60 eur daily and start stacking them on BTC, this way you can save yourself from haircut and potentially make a lot of gains while your local economy goes to hell and back.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if people stop running nodes ? on: July 14, 2015, 02:22:54 PM
As far as I know, once pruning gets perfect and made compatible with regular wallet usage, running a node while running your wallet over there maybe a good decision for some. For example, I run a full node for my main wallet because I cant fully trust anything but core, but its annoying as hell since it takes too many GB. With pruning this will be solved.

Of course, I dont run it 24h. Not sure what the incentive would be. I guess there is always someone out there doing it. We must think of ways to incentive people doing it because the numbers are going lower tho.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It truely begins on: July 14, 2015, 02:16:56 PM
The paradigm shift has already begun. Deprecated dinosaurs will get crushed by history. If you are not Bitcoin you aren't on the wining team, get really to get erased. Anyone not holding at least 1 BTC now is simply clinically insane.

1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.11.0 has been released on: July 12, 2015, 09:01:14 PM
I just synced my 0.10.2 and now i see that 0.11.0 is not backwards compatible.. so I need to download the whole damn thing again?
I see that pruning doesnt work when "running a wallet", not sure what that means, but it sounds like it would be useless to anyone using core as its wallet.

Do i need to delete the whole blockchain, or can I just install 0.11 on top and it will download the whole blockchain on top?
1135  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1000 before christmas we have already broken the $300 in sparta on: July 12, 2015, 12:11:38 PM

We've crossed the 300 barrier. The spartans are back at full force. Hold on to your coins and it will all make sense soon.

Together we can defeat the Banksters. Stay strong my friends.
1136  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: July 12, 2015, 12:09:18 PM
I wanna see some of this cash lover carry a 50,000 usd stack across countries with no problem, is fine that cash could be the state of currency for every possible transaction but at some points its restricted to a volume by the governments.
There is literally no way to carry that amount of money without raising alarms, you just can't carry that much money around and expect nothing happen, except now we have Bitcoin so it's perfectly possible. It's crazy to think about how you could carry billions inside a USB stick or carrying literally nothing (just remembering your brain wallet seed).
1137  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek Plan Accepts Austerity to Get Debt Relief on: July 12, 2015, 12:06:19 PM
Like I said, there is no Grexit, Greece will just cope with the measures imposed. They are trying to get like 30% of the debt removed but merkel wasn't happy about doing so. We should find the final outcome of this tonight.
1138  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: which is best site for accept payment with Bitcoin? on: July 12, 2015, 12:02:34 PM
You can always bypass everything and just post a QR code of an address you own and start accepting transactions.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the FUD we're moving forward! on: July 12, 2015, 11:42:39 AM
I dont see a reason to panic buy, we seen this 310 before then once it go there some stupid greedy person dumped it and land it at 250

If you are here for long term, 210 or 310 doesn't matter, just enter the market already and hold, otherwise you will end up doing stupid because it's unavoidable, it's a odds game and you always end up getting caught panic buys and sells cycles.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Blockchain Tech Will Change Auditing for Good on: July 12, 2015, 11:36:36 AM
"Matthew Spoke is a senior consultant at Deloitte Canada and is actively involved in the company's internal initiative to explore uses of blockchain technology in accounting. Here, in an article co-authored with his colleague Shannon Steele, he explores why a blockchain-based audit system is the future of accounting."

“Bitcoin, the most common use of a blockchain, has proven to be tremendously valuable as a network for broad transparency and security”

http://www.coindesk.com/blockchains-and-the-future-of-audit/

The blockchain is the technology that will automate lots of stuff of the bureocracy, banking, managers of ledgers.. they will all be gone in a couple years thanks to the blockchain, so they better start to learn how to code or be a pioneer and invest now so you can retire earlier.
