alcurEX wallet offline.

Support has been responsive and says they're re-syncing.

Nice steady growth in Zeitcoin market cap this year. Aside from the big spike up in late February it's been a nice steady string of higher lows and higher highs. Good stuff. Smiley

Interesting speculation?

But let me be clear, even if the guys with black suits and sunglasses are involved at some level, none of this invalidates bitcoin. It is a game-changing technology.

Fascinating. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I don't believe for a second that Wright = Nakamoto, but it's best to keep one's eyes open.

It is interesting that all this is going on whilst there's global stagflation making a mess of the world economy based on the petrodollar. Is the dollar in its current form dying? One could certainly make the case:

1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POS coins on: May 08, 2016, 04:24:59 PM
I rather like CBX and have been a holder since early 2014, back when it was cryptogenic bullion. The things I dislike about it are that it's painfully slow and has changed entirely too often.

I'm right this moment re-downloading the CBX chain after upgrading to 2.3.3 because I was apparently on the wrong blockchain(1.2.0.5) when I transmitted some coins to cryptopia. I'm too busy to be constantly checking multiple threads here to find out if there's been another hard fork prior to transmitting coins. CBX needs to stop re-inventing itself all the time, not everyone keeps up with all the forks.

Also low starting supply increases the value of the few coins out there, but does nothing to boost liquidity. I prefer the unique way in which Zeitcoin was launched with a hybrid pow/pos and then just pos with a rapidly falling rate of inflation(25/20/15/5).

Well, I guess the change is for the better now that some programs are being worked at and they're marketing it now as well.

I certainly hope so. I'd like to see CBX succeed without needing to re-invent itself again...again. In case anyone cares, I finally got re-synced with the latest CBX fork and my coins are fine. Love a happy ending. Grin

All of the old skool high ongoing inflation rate coins(TeK, HBN, PHS) have all collapsed in value, particularly since cryptsy went away. Meanwhile Zeitcoin has seen nice stable & steady growth due to its staggered inflation rate which drops from 15% to only 5% next year. Just what's needed for a mainstream digital currency. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself.

Interesting plan kiklo, but I don't think it will make much of a difference. Quick back of the napkin math puts inflation at right around 16.5% since Zeit went full PoS 431 days ago. That comes out to .038% per day or 13.97% per year at the pace we've been on and that should be coming down with the drop from 25% to 20%, though I haven't confirmed that. Fact is a lot of people just park their coins on exchanges and don't bother with staking at all. Two of the largest 10 wallet balances haven't changed in one year according to cryptoID's wallet guesstimates...that's 2.5b coins not staking right there and a year ago that was roughly 9% of the supply.

Hmm, so according to your math we are only seeing ~half of the actual interest rate.
Which means %15 may only be between actually 7% or 10 % .
And 5% will probably also be lower.

Makes sense.  Cheesy

 Cool

Yep. Like I said it was quick math, using numbers from cryptoID's inflation chart and I welcome anyone to double check it, but you can see that inflation is quite low since the conclusion of PoW. When I have more time I'd like to double check it myself and also see what effect the subsidy reduction has had on the rate of inflation. I don't see how it can be all that far off as I vaguely recall seeing total money supply around 27b back then and it's still under 32b over a year later. With compounding it should be much higher if significant numbers were being staked. This information is also consistent with the low staking numbers cryptoID shows at any given time(7.2% right  at this time). The bottom line is...unless something changes overhead supply will be growing far slower than expected.

I don't know about you guys, but I've been riding the Tek rebound wave, getting regular 13% on my trades. Its sweet.  Grin

I cant keep mine out of my wallet long enough to trade. STAKE BABY!
LOL
I don't know another wallet that can stake half as well as this one. On time and multiple simultaneous stakes like a beast.

Did new guy just quote himself and then comment on his own laughter? ^^^

Anyway yeah...TeK is a steady stream of staking goodness. Grin

I personally think people are nuts to park significant quantities of any coin(particularly PoS coins) on exchanges given all the hacks and thefts that have occurred, but it seems some people never learn. Anyway the people that don't think 23-28% compound interest is worth their time or effort are making everyone else's ZeitCoin stakes more valuable and those people(myself included) are likely to be the people that actually care about the success of this crypto...so THANK YOU SLACKERS! Tongue

I don't think we should change anything fundamental about the plan just because someone manages to make a bot to collar the price on what is quite frankly the worst run exchange I've ever seen. Though annoying, the price rigging will only last until they run out of coins and I'm betting our determination is >>> theirs. I think we should remain consistent and stick to the plan. I think we should just make the bot sell as cheap as possible on craptsy and drain the place of liquidity at every opportunity...then move that liquidity to a better run exchange that has given us a BTC pairing and not just a bunch of excuses.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: July 13, 2015, 05:04:43 PM
The real reason why prices vary so much is because liquidity for Zeit is LOW on all markets. It wouldn't take much to crash the markets. 10M zeit is all it takes to clear out the cryptopia market on the bid side. It is only possible for the price to drop from 440 to 142 BECAUSE there are so few buyers on the bid side. A real market shouldn't gyrate +/- 20% percent just on the sale of 15 Million Zeit (esp when we have over 30 BILLION coins floating around).

With such low liquidity on the markets that we ARE on, is it any wonder that prices went the way it did? You couldn't buy a BUDGET LAPTOP with Zeit without the store crashing the prices 60% because they need to get LTC and then convert that LTC to cash to buy more wholesale laptops in fiat. If all it takes is 2 BTC worth of volume to crash prices, then I'm sorry, but we need more liquidity. Big question is, who's willing to provide it? And at what sustainable prices?

And then there's the issue that we're going to encounter major resistance from 10 to 17 satoshi level, which was our previous high from the mintpal days.

And again, look at other coins. ALL other coins besides BTC suffered from LTC dump, not just Zeitcoin. We just moved with the market.

Liquidity is more of a concern to sellers than buyers. Buyers will naturally migrate to the market with the lowest price at the moment they wish to buy...as ever the lowest price is at craptsy. Currently Zeit is 28% cheaper at craptsy than at either of the BTC markets. The lowest price is ALWAYS at craptsy, because that market is being held down by a bot. Coincidentally or not so coincidentally that's also the market that sets the price of ZeitCoin and the other markets follow. The only good thing about the fake price action at craptsy is that the spreads are artificially kept low.

Craptsy is again malfunctioning btw, there's a bid and ask posted at the same price point. Their software has done this regularly for months...if not years. It's really a very poorly run exchange.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: July 12, 2015, 10:33:00 PM

It can not be that one or two or three Knights make a sacrifice for everyone! When the benefits are for everyone!

Yesterday I spent my money buying ZEIT up to 294 litoshis! And for what? For the rest see comfortable good film to watch how it ends! It's not like that !!!!  Sad

This price manipulation is the work of one bot(or two if you count both craptsy markets). Craptsy ALWAYS has the lowest price and it's often half what it is at the other markets due to this manipulation. Just watch the fake price action at craptsy for a few minutes and this fact becomes clear. It's obvious a well stocked bot is manipulating the price discovery mechanism and holding ZeitCoin down.

To combat this we all need to work together and break the bot's owner. I've added 40LTCs worth of buy support to the already large order at 168 on the craptsy ZEIT/LTC market. Infighting and blaming each other isn't going to help, but if we all work together and make a huge wall then the bot will either break itself trying to drop the price even lower or we'll all get really cheap ZeitCoin. I believe the bot will take down the price as soon as litecoin gains significant ground against BTC & fiat, so help break JP Morgan ...er the manipulator by piling on at 168.

LTC has been recovering vs BTC and fiat, so the craptsy auto market rigging bot sprang into action and lowered the bid and asks accordingly by dumping Zeit...mostly onto its own bids. It seems to be trying to maintain a peg to a specific BTC or fiat value. I'm having a bit of trouble envisioning a scenario where this market rigging directly benefits the bot's owner. Someone mentioned arbitrage, but exploiting price discrepancies between markets entails buying at the market with the lowest ask and selling at the market with the highest bid not dumping onto your own bids at the same market. The craptsy Zeit/XRP market seems to be similarly rigged.

I had buy support at craptsy around 235, but pulled it just as the bot dumped 50m or so Zeitcoin down to 221. I intend to mostly ignore the rigged craptsy Zeit markets going forward, but if there's a clear opportunity to punish the bot's owner I'll probably take advantage.

*glares at mintcoin suspiciously*

and to think ray helped them out the grave.

No idea whose bot it is, but there's mass price manipulation going on at craptsy and anyone making their Zeit trading decisions based on craptsy trading history is making a mistake. That bot doesn't even look like it's written to try to stack more LTC.
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: July 10, 2015, 01:30:30 PM
on the bright side wow check out that volume  Tongue

No kidding! ZeitCoin has over FIVE TIMES as much volume as the next busiest LTC pairing on Cryptopia and that's without craptsy bots to manipulate prices.

If you REALLY want a good laugh look at the market history at craptsy's ZEIT/XRP ghost town. A constant barrage of micro sells to suppress the price of ZeitCoin. Who's wasting their time selling 3000 Zeit at less than half market value? Right...a bot thats been built to suppress the price.
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: July 10, 2015, 01:07:38 PM
Well until LTC finds a bottom, expect more of these shennanigans to go on. BTC is the place to be right now until then. After that, there are plenty of alt-coins to buy for cheap, including Zeit.

I believe the LTC correction is nearly done, you can already see the "bears"(who are really just BTC/LTC bulls in hiding) already losing their appetite for LTC dumping. The USD is cratering relative to even crappier fiat and that's pushing BTC up which is in turn lowering LTC/BTC, but it won't last. BTC has performed very poorly of late(SLOW) and it's really putting the wind at LTC's back.

LTC is going to go back up nearly as fast as it dropped.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: July 10, 2015, 12:19:15 PM
Craptsy is as liquid as it gets in ZeitCoin markets though...yet one whale with a bot takes the entire coin down and holds it there by throttling that one market. I thought of it more as a problem with one market pairing on one bot infested exchange setting fair value for a coin. The Bitcoin pairings have held up and provided stability while LTC has undergone a 40%+ correction. I'm happy to take the liquidity off craptsy and add it to an exchange that gave us the stability of a BTC pairing.

I imagine I'd be rather annoyed if I had a Zeitcoin autosell running on craptsy the past 24 hours or so while the price has been manipulated into the ground at the same time LTC has skyrocketed and then crashed in epic fashion relative to BTC & fiat.

LOL

That craptsy bot is so dumb it's even dropping its asks while LTC continues to tank relative to BTC. It's selling into its own bids to tank the price. What a joke.

Makes you wonder how much ACTUAL ZeitCoin volume there is on craptsy that isn't just a bot or bots selling back and forth to themselves. Anyway if someone is so silly to make a ZEIT/LTC trading bot that doesn't monitor LTC/BTC or ZEIT/BTC at decent exchanges, I'll be delighted to wait for LTC to bottom and send the owner of that poorly written bot to the ZeitCoin poor house.

Now I'm real glad I kept some BTC powder dry.

Oops...think something bad happened to those ZeitCoin sell walls. Kinda funny that one guy and a silly craptsy bot can cut the price in half in a few hours.

rough day for zeit. our strong foundation remains. dumpers a plenty if you want to pad your stack.

It's a bot on cryptsy taking the price down and holding it there for a profitable spread trade. Traders at the other markets are just following along like lemmings. Cheesy
