1161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 14, 2015, 08:11:59 PM
It was never actually hashing at that rate, it was incorrectly reported by bitmain's cgminer fork.  Did you ever compare the reported hash on your end to what the pool you were mining to saw?

Volt 800 and freq 250 typically results in the max. hash rate, though YMMV as almost every U3 responds differently.
1162  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 14, 2015, 08:07:22 PM
It would be interesting to see a comparison between kano and say BTCChina Pool ( which might be the only other comparable pool).

For example:

If a person could run 10 THS on each for the same 10 day period, it would be nice to see them post their results.

Someone did study pools over a 12 week period and Kano.is was a top performer.  I would hazard a guess to say that the pool's performance has only increased since this study was done: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1059040.msg11941177#msg11941177
1163  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks closed. on: December 14, 2015, 07:53:04 PM
It wouldn't make sense for them to dump all their hash online at once, that kind of shock to the difficulty would have a huge impact on their earnings, so it makes sense that they ramp it up slowly and not shock the network into large adjustments that affect everyone's bottom line.
1164  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 14, 2015, 07:49:12 PM

Ok what does an Antrouter do compared to a normal home router??

Is it worth even getting for a small 5> miner setup?
It only has "value" if you already have a U3 and want to use it as a controller.  And in that case it has even more value if you order from CrazyGuy and get his custom firmware.
1165  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Dec 11 to Jan 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool club latest setup. on: December 14, 2015, 07:44:46 PM
I have noticed that with the low hash rate of the sticks the Difficulty takes 10 Mins or so to adjust down from 1K. Is there any way to set the Pool to something lower at start up?

Rich

The command varies depending which mining client you are using, cg or bfg, but there are commands for both to set a lower starting difficulty.  It's cosmetic, though, and has 0 impact on your hashing.
1166  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 11, 2015, 07:33:56 PM
Weird, I just saw that too.  Maybe Kano put too many addresses in his transaction?  I didn't know it was limited to 250.

It's not, that's just blockchain.info failing.  They are not the definitive source for all things transaction related.
1167  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks open. on: December 11, 2015, 07:15:28 PM
+15.2 = Mikestang

I remember posting about 100G network difficulty a month or two ago and people responded like well that's crazy, we'll never get that high, way too much hash required, etc. etc. and now we are on the cusp of that number.  A few more big jumps and 100G it will be.

It's not so much the percentage change that is amazing, but the shear amount of hash being added.  It's like the entire network of only a year ago was re-added to the current network in one adjustment period and that's insane.
1168  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Dec 11 to Jan 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool club latest setup. on: December 11, 2015, 07:04:28 PM

If I ask you to prove you are mining with a compac stick  and you can't prove it you will be banned and marked with a negative trust.
Thanks for running this again, Phil, it's a lot of fun.  I like and support the new rules, but I have a question about the above - did we have an issue with this either of the last 2 runs that made it a point to bold for this run?  I hope not, but just curious.  Maybe part of being in the club each month is that the user must post a picture of their stick with a handwritten note that says "sidehack compac pool Dec 11 - Jan 11" each time, only altering the date on the note.

I think you are supposed to have all your donation at one donation address, makes book keeping simpler.
1169  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: OFFICIAL CGMINER mining software thread for linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 4.9.2 on: December 11, 2015, 06:59:03 PM

I am not sure I have really found 3 blocks in 8 days.
Been answered many, many times.  You either rent out your hash somewhere that someone mines alt coins with, or you mine on a pool that mines alt coins.  You did not solve a bitcoin block if your best share is less than 79G.
1170  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining 135 blocks solved! on: December 11, 2015, 06:57:17 PM
bitfury, knc ,sptech  did a new farm.  this is a one shot deal.

For now it's a one shot deal, but who's to say we're not going to see more farms like this sprouting up?  It sure makes the life of a solo miner that much more difficult, the network difficulty has doubled since I started solo mining about a year ago.
1171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 11, 2015, 06:52:47 PM
Did anyone try to mod the U3 for quieter operation?
Are you serious?  It's one 80mm fan, my desktop has 10 of them.  White noise is relaxing, you should learn to enjoy it!
1172  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Nov 11 to Dec 11 SIDEHACK compac stick pool club. New run. on: December 11, 2015, 06:50:54 PM

Your sticks should be on one worker and donations on a second, not one worker for each stick.
1173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 10, 2015, 10:41:00 PM
--set compac:clock=0x0783

Also, besides the driver mentioned, you should use integers for the clock setting in 5.4.1, not the hex value.
1174  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks open. on: December 10, 2015, 10:38:18 PM
Old mines that have been shut off coming back online due to the >$400 price?  Warehouses full of S7s/(insert other high efficiency miner) going through burn in?  Whatever it is, it's growth that the network has never seen before, pretty amazing.
1175  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining 130 blocks solved! on: December 10, 2015, 10:33:07 PM
There were almost 2% in fees from transactions in that block. I'm aiming to make solo blocks the reference for the largest average sized blocks.

That's a great goal, not only for network health (if only every pool has such priorities), but also for preparation of the halving next year where tx fees will make up a much higher percentage of the total block solve reward.
1176  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks closed. on: December 10, 2015, 12:50:00 AM
Yesterday they sold 2279 BTC worth of miners.

https://blockchain.info/charts/received-per-day?timespan=30days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=1KwA4fS4uVuCNjCtMivE7m5ATbv93UZg8V

That is like at least 2PH/s worth in a single day. CRAZY! I am surprised they aren't sold out yet.

Makes you wonder, if they are selling this many S7s how many are they keeping for themselves?
1177  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Nov 11 to Dec 11 SIDEHACK compac stick pool club. New run. on: December 09, 2015, 07:07:04 PM
So far the best share on my single stick is 1.04M.  It's running at 275 right now and averages (per cgminer 15.11Gh/s)

I got a best stick share of 12.1M just after the last OC contest ended, I was impressed for a little stick!
Code:
{"hashrate1m": "19.4G", "hashrate5m": "15.1G", "hashrate1hr": "14.2G", "hashrate1d": "14.3G", "hashrate7d": "18.4G", "lastupdate": 1449687890, "shares": 30354975, "bestshare": 44926.093031784432, "bestever": 12183168}

Only ever had a >1G share with my S3, and only twice in the several months I've been mining.
1178  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 09, 2015, 05:13:13 PM
BTC $420 again, it's starting to make sense to mine with these big boys!!

These types of machines make sense to mine with even when the price is low, it's the older (less efficient) hardware that makes sense to use when the price is high.
1179  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 09, 2015, 05:11:32 PM

I use the app too and mine doesn't crash when the db/website goes down, I just get extra block found alerts when db comes back online.  So my phone told me 5-6 block finds this morning.  I'm glad to see the last one was actually true.

Yea, those extra block found notices are kind of annoying.  I get several on my train ride in this morning and then when I get to a computer and log in and only see 1 solved I was let down.  I wish the app dev would fix it so it could tell the difference between a found block and a restart.  Also wish he would change the notification sound/icon for dead miners to be different than a found block.  He also still needs to add kano to the name, kano ckpool status, I think kano asked him to do that months ago when he first made the app...
1180  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED][SIDEHACK STICK]Official sales thread for everywhere not already covered on: December 09, 2015, 04:55:02 PM
bitminerjoe on Amazon is Crazyguy here in bitcointalk. If you want to buy from him directly go to https://asicpuppy.com .
I ordered my R1 from Crazyguy with his custom firmware loaded, he's a stand-up guy and I would recommend buying from him any day of the week (but use his site, not Amazon).
