121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Price Of Qtum will likely to increase? on: May 09, 2019, 08:56:16 PM
Qtum need to have a great mainnet before anything. If people start to invest because of gossips that never result in anything, we will have only another pump and dump project.
122  Local / Brasil / Re: Agora é Lei - Corretoras e também usuários deverão prestar contas à receita. on: May 09, 2019, 07:40:59 PM

123  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Casal que construiu casa no mar ficou rico com Bitcoin on: May 09, 2019, 02:55:13 AM

124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Funds are no more #SAFU! Binance lied? on: May 09, 2019, 02:46:46 AM
When he says that the funds are saved, it means the resources of the users. The exchange has sufficient resources to cover these failures

127  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Hackers Are Shuffling Binance’s Stolen Bitcoin on: May 09, 2019, 02:30:23 AM
This is not money laundering. This is just a method of making tracking difficult. But money laundering would involve some action to legitimize possession of these assets.
128  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-08]Facebook stops blocking some blockchain ads on: May 09, 2019, 02:28:20 AM
https://techcrunch.com/2019/05/08/facebook-blockchain-ad-ban/

Facebook still won’t let you advertise for ICOs or binaries, and ads for cryptocurrencies and exchanges need prior approval. But a year after banning all blockchain-related ads, it’s reopening to ones for “blockchain technology, industry news, education or events related to cryptocurrency” without the need for pre-approval.

The change could be a boon to an industry struggling for mainstream attention in the wake of the 2018 cryptocurrency price collapse that soured much of the public on the financial technology. Blockchain events were especially hit hard since Facebook’s local and interest targeting capabilities made it ideal for selling tickets to potential attendees.

Facebook’s  goal was to prevent users from getting scammed by Initial Coin Offerings and other cryptocurrency deals where providers had little to no accountability. In January 2018 at the height of the crypto craze, it blocked all blockchain related ads. In June 2018 it began allowing some if they received pre-approval.

When Facebook users get scammed, they don’t just blame the scammer but the social network too. Facebook initially cast a wide net in its ban to prevent this. Users began seeing ads for blockchain education yesterday.

Additionally, beginning June 5th, Facebook will ban ads for “promoting contracts for difference (CFDs), complex financial products that are often associated with predatory behavior. These products, due to their complexity, often mislead people.”

The news comes as more info on Facebook’s own blockchain group trickles out. Bloomberg’s Julie Verhage reports it now has more than 50 employees, one-fifth hailing from PayPal, where Facebook Blockchain’s head David Marcus was formerly president. They’re working on a stablecoin, potentially pegged to a bundle of currencies Facebook is trying to raise from outside investors in order to keep its cryptocurrency’s price stable.

Facebook’s stablecoin could allow zero-fee remittance to friends or family across borders or payments to merchants without traditional credit card processing fees, as we predicted last year. To that end, hiring PayPal talent makes sense. They already built a nearly ubiquitous checkout option for e-commerce. But because they act as a middleman for the money and assume some risk of fraud, PayPal charges fees on insured payments to merchants. Facebook could undercut those fees by using blockchain technology to instantly transfer value between accounts.

Gradually, the winds are all changing in relation to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The possibility of a bull run is more and more real.
129  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-06] $7 Trillion Asset Giant Fidelity to Launch Crypto Trading ‘Within.. on: May 09, 2019, 01:06:24 AM
Excellent news. But I do not think they're going to transact Bitcoin directly. They're probably just going to use dollars. Maybe with cold storage for institutional purposes.
130  Local / Portugal / Re: Conta bancária bloqueada on: May 09, 2019, 12:54:55 AM

131  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Binance Confirms 7000BTC ($40m) Security Breach on: May 08, 2019, 03:03:23 AM
That would leave a lot of exchanges bankrupt, but for the binance, neither tickles does. But it's one more case involving their API. It seems like an excellent tool for hackers to explore. Much better than trying to steal from users. Explore the failing system of them API + 2fa.
132  Other / Meta / Re: Do the right thing and you wouldn't have to worry about red trust on: May 08, 2019, 02:58:06 AM
"It's all relative"

What is right for you, may be considered wrong for another person. The forum tries to keep most of the decisions about what is wrong in the users' hands. That being so, you can do everything right and someone decides that this is wrong and deserves negative trust. Smiley

133  Local / Brasil / Re: Volume NegocieCoins on: May 08, 2019, 02:43:04 AM

134  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-04] Whale Moves $230 Million for 57 Cents Using Bitcoin on: May 08, 2019, 02:34:45 AM
There doesn't seem to be much logic in this move. It isn't split in smaller fractions for security purposes, there were no forks to unload, and I doubt this bull whale has sold his coins at once through an OTC deal.

He's a trader. The reason must go beyond safety issues. Even more so in that moment in which the market is. If I am not completely mistaken, it is difficult, or impossible, to sign an address bc1 (bech32) Moving can be a way to prove ownership.
135  Local / Brasil / Re: Agora é Lei - Corretoras e também usuários deverão prestar contas à receita. on: May 08, 2019, 12:06:51 AM
136  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Venezuela e Bitcoin: dinheiro sem fronteiras é ‘ouro’(...) on: May 07, 2019, 03:52:35 PM

137  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Index Fund Looking for help! on: May 07, 2019, 02:58:12 AM
I liked the website. Simple and beautiful. You can try capitalizing by offering ads from other people who make their own index through the site. These influencers and traders would have a profile on the site and would appear on the first page with their indexes.
138  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit spam on the forum on: May 07, 2019, 02:40:54 AM

Theymos did not ban all the signature campaign and you can still participate on it including yobit but after 2 months from the ban for this one.
It is the fault of yobit, they should hired a manager or at least selected/limited the number of eligible participants.

@safar1980 : lock the topic, it is already solved.

The question is will there be some legit campaign manager who will accept their sig campaign? Maybe most of this campaign managers will be hesitant as to whatever may happen to their service.

In the first place have you also wonder why they haven't done it since the beginning? very shaddy isn't it?

They did not hire a manager because they could do the control automatically. Since they cared little about what would be written by the users. I still believe that if they were willing to make a serious campaign, several managers would accept the job.But their purpose is different. It is not a job to strengthen their brand. It's an SEO job. Increase the ranking in the searches and appear in all corners of the forum.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PRICE TO BE WORTH 1 BTC = 1 BTC on: May 07, 2019, 02:31:47 AM
1 BTC may be worth 2 BTC. It's all a matter of negotiation. Bitcoin's volatility is not bad, it's excellent. That means there are thousands of people trying to figure out the value of this asset. Eventually, this volatility will decrease, because we will have a clearer idea of the value of a Bitcoin in relation to other goods. But even the value of the dollar varies, in relation to gold, to the Euro, to the price of beer.
140  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-05] Court Orders Craig Wright to produce his public Bitcoin addresses on: May 07, 2019, 02:21:36 AM
It's quite possible that was him shopping for old wallets on here and on Reddit a few weeks back.

I hope the court knows enough to want private keys as well. It would be a bit galling if he handed over some whale's address and they said 'fantastic'.

the court order states:  “On or before May 15, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Dr. Wright shall produce all transactional records of the blind trust, including but not limited to any records reflecting the transfer of bitcoin into the blind trust in or about 2011. The production shall be accompanied by a sworn declaration of authenticity.”

they want him to reveal the addresses that were involved in the blind trust fund coin movement in 2011
so it should be pretty easy to identify if he just presents some random whale's addresses or not

This is one of the advantages of having a public ledger. Anyone can check if he, in fact, was the owner of one of the addresses. But unfortunately, there are several possibilities of him still cheating the court. Billions are in play and he could get some address or way to demonstrate ownership of an address that has moved millions of BTCs to some single address.
