121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 16, 2024, 08:37:13 PM
And so with the tickets not selling, Ryan has to go troll Haney again with this kind of words, Lol,

https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1780276293021372912

Ryan though, you really don't know what's inside of that mind. There were moments he look serious and everything he says is good. Then majority are like this one, most likely he just want to be controversial and to create more hype because if the news is true that they are not selling tickets, then he has to do something to carry the load and bring it to the masses or at least put some noises again.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing the money in gambling, what is your strategy on: April 16, 2024, 12:06:44 PM
The gambling is the game with both the possibility, but most of us fail to understand the possibility of losing in the gambling. So if the gambler get into the gambling,in the behalf he had agreed to lose the capital on their bad luck. Some new gamblers most feel this way of thinking after the loss in the gambling, but the experienced gamblers will ready to move on,because they know with their knowledge he can make the big money in some day.One if my friends had loss nearly 2000$ in the gambling, because of his loss even his family suffered a lot in financially.Even his family not able to afford to pay their rent for their house for the few months.
This is why it's very dangerous to gamble money that you can't afford to lose. Two days ago, I also had a conversation with one of my neighbors and he says that more than $2000 in two days. But I think he will be ok because he had a high paying job. But still, as I heard to tell his stories, I can sense that he is affected mentally and that he will be not gambling or will take a break.

I had suggested my friend to quit gambling and I had feel that he totally get addicted to the gambling.Which was the cause for the many high risk to get into the complete loss. But he clarify me,he had loss the money because he had follow the same betting strategy with the changing algorithm of the gambling site. From his experience,I had learned we should not follow the same betting style for the changing algorithm.
That is the best piece of advise that you can give him. But still up to your friend to follow it or not because quitting gambling is very hard specially if you come from a lost and wanted to recoup everything. I think you have done your best, if he decided to continue gambling then you can't stop him. And it's going to be a rude awaking if he lost another big money.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano vs Ethereum on: April 16, 2024, 12:43:45 AM
Do you think Cardano will replace Ethereum?

Personally, I think that both blockchains will develop in different directions in the future.
Both blockchains would therefore be relevant and coexist.

I personally think of something like this:
Ethereum = DeFi
Cardano = dApp

I also thought of something like this:
Ethereum = NFT & Gaming
Cardano = dApp & DeFi
As other have said, Cardano is no way going to replace ETH. Ethereum is considered to be a prime mover, and even during it's early stages in 2017, there are a lot of projects that challenges it to the top if I remember correctly, and most of them are dead projects now, meaning they didn't succeed during that time although there are a lot of hype on this projects. So this could be the case again for those who want to challenge Ethereum, like ADA as per OP or Solana which is very hype right now. But if you like to go for a win-win here then just invest on both and don't compare their technology. For sure you are not looking for the technology behind isn't it? But how you can take advantage or this project and make money specially that the bull run is going to come.
124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Easy method to stay safe for new bitcoin buyer crypto beginner on: April 16, 2024, 12:10:45 AM
Or just buy a hardware wallet to store your bitcoin and other cryptos. Most of us here, have good safety practice already, to the point that they have separate machines for their "regular" activity, and then another one for let's say bitcointalk account and other crypto related. Others go to the extend of using Unix flavored OS or MacOS as they are seldom targeted by cyber criminals. So good advise here, but it's just basic that majority here have been doing that for years. And you can say that you also need to double or check multiple times the address that you will be sending as there are malwares that can change the recipient address.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: April 15, 2024, 08:58:40 PM
Impulsive that's it, and because he has a lot of money and it all came from his winnings, he thought that he "needed" it. But damn, been playing Crazy time I wasn't able to get that big win of him although I don't bet as high as this guy or at least I'm a conservative gambler. And yes, as others have said, he could sell those items below the price he bought it if he wanted to get some money of things that he see doesn't have value for him. And just like what we say though in gambling, he is really that addicted and there are no control and he give it back to the casinos and now, he has nothing again and it's going to be a vicious cycle.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 15, 2024, 08:32:43 PM

But seriously, does anyone here believe on Bob Arum's comment? Can Inoue be better than Pacman in terms of achievement in boxing?

At this moment, he is the closest boxer to surpass Manny if he ever successfully managed to step forward and win another championship belt there and at the same time he unified it all but as we all know, the more you increase your weight, the harder the opponent can be and that's why Manny stop at the Middleweight and he didn't want to depend on his title after he won from Margarito. That's why Inoue takes slowly to go higher and chooses to give others some chance to take the belt from him at their current weight division because his body can't take a sudden weight chance and take a huge power puncher along with their speed.

It's not impossible for Innoe to level up the skills that Manny had been achieved for this boxing career. What's most important for him is to go more trainings and strategy to develop in order for him to acquire a lot of power and different techniques to reach that stage of mastery. The undeniable journey of Pacman has proven for years, and if ever this aspiring boxer will take the best chance to next level of challenge I believed he will do the best that he could to defend his title once there's a possible opportunity of another weight division comes.

Many people says that he is closed with skill set what Pacquiao have and I agree with him. He has a combination with speed and power also his punch is so deadly that's why we can see that there really a better future for Inoue. Maybe the issue now is people want him to fight outside then win a lot of fights out there. If he can able to do that plus he can win more belts then provably that he can come close what achievement gotten by Pacquaio. But for now he need to face a lot of challenges and to many champions to defeat its early to say that he can surpass many since there's a slot of things need to consider and this will be controversial thoughts since to many people will argue with this topic.
More likely he should go up in weight, because that's what separate Manny from the rest of the boxing legends, it's was so controversial that he can fight as high as 154 lbs and beat bigger guys and be called 8 division champ, that is very hard to follow although Inoue might be their along the tracks. But he is still at 122 lbs right not and need at least to go to 126 lbs and see if he has want it takes to still go up in weight class as what Manny did. So by now, he has the power and the speed, but can he go up and carry that one? Manny when he did go up, was not able to carry his power, but since he is a volume puncher, he was able to uses it to his advantage and be the legend that he is known when he retires. So best of luck to Inoue if he wanted to duplicate the feat of Pacquiao.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 13, 2024, 11:09:31 AM
Inoue is just simply getting high improvement in his every fight and this one will also held inside Japan this is his comfort zone which will give him a huge advantage and will gonna make him easily win this one.
No doubt that he's improving time after time but with the venues that he's agreeing with where his matches are going to happen, this is what makes other fans off a bit of him. There's a reason why he wants to box at most times inside his territory and country and that's a boost for his career and certainly, it's all about the cheer of the people that he's getting and the confidence that he's getting. I wonder if any match of his goes out Japan, will he able to win it? It's like always the home court advantage that he's getting but that's far from being skilled. Because no doubt that Inoue sure is a skilled and undefeated boxer.

Inoue is fighting in a stadium with 50k capacity. Smaller fighters just don’t draw those kinds of crowds anywhere else in the world. Inoue has fought outside of Japan several times. It is not a matter of not wanting to fight outside of his home, that’s just where it makes the most financial sense to stage his fights. For example, we can see that the Garcia vs. Haney fight is struggling to sell tickets because neither fighter has a large fanbase in New York.
Financially, it make sense for Inoue to fight in his own country because he has a big fan based. And we understand that there are a lot of good Japanese fighters not just Inoue in this time, but they all fought in Japan as well. But as this sports is global, as a boxer you have to think of fighting outside your comfort zone and be in the US. Canelo was unknown until he fought in the US vs Floyd and after that he never went back to Mexico until the John Ryder fight. Haney vs Garcia will do good I think, most likely by now his fans has no choice but to travel to New York to watch the fight although Ryan Garcia said that he still wants the price of the ticket to be lower as what is being offered by their sponsors.
128  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 13, 2024, 10:45:03 AM
i am optimistic that bitcoin can approach or reach 75k usd this month, since many investors are optimistic about the halving and coupled with market conditions which tend to be stable and there is no negative news which makes investors want to sell their assets. even though this is a temporary condition, because it seems that before the halving we will experience a bear market, for people who want to make a profit, maybe now is the right time to sell.
We had a minor correction again, as there could be negative news that pull down the price to $67k. But yeah, maybe $75k is possible as we will have the halving in the next couple of days and this could be the last leg for investors who wants to buy at the current price of below $70k. So it's going to be very excited days, we should just look at the fundamentals for now, and not complicate things with TA this weekends. And usually Sat-Sun is a slow phase, volume is not the big as everyone could be just settling down and waiting for the block halving to happen.
129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do not let the over excitement after the bull-run pull you out to danger on: April 12, 2024, 09:13:11 PM
It would really be just that depending on you on how you would really be having that kind of trust when it comes your funds and this is something that you would really having that kind of doubts when it comes to the security of  your funds. I do agree into those words above that if you cant really be able trust up your family then find up ways on how they would be able to benefit once you do pass away.
You are the ones who would really be finding up the method for you to benefit out to those finances that you have stored up. Its up to you whether on how you would be securing out that kind of safety of your funds.
Also when you do make out some money then it would really be best that you do really know on how to control yourself on not to expose on how much you do earn.
Just like on what everybody saying on here is that its too risky that you do make yourself having that kind of exposure into public that you earn this and that.
Making crypto wealth exposed to the public for no reason will be dangerous for everyone's personal security, this will even result in many people being curious and intending to take it from you. There is no need to expose anything as long as the profits obtained will make you a lucky person. can get out of the bearish market well. Closing everything and carrying on with life as usual is the right choice so that no danger threatens.
If you want to live a safer way, stay low key. Do not publicized what you have gained from your investments or whatsoever that involves huge amount of money because that will only make other people develop envy towards you. Let’s face the reality that not all people are happy with your high earnings, some may even plan  at your back due to greed and jealousy.
I think everyone knows that, be a low profile player in crypto, and don't flaunt your riches like what I see in social media. Specially in the last bull run, when there are influencers who says that they got rich and all of that and then when bear market sets in, they are all gone and never come back because there's nothing that they can brag upon. But for those who remain under the radar, like the rest of us, then good. Just be a normal individual in your neighborhood and don't show them your bank account as we really don't know who are the people around us and who we trusted. For some this might come naturally, but for others, we should change our lifestyle and and just be reserved.
130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 190K in 2024? on: April 12, 2024, 11:41:35 AM

And many prediction models place the future price of bitcoin into 190K.
Is 190K too humble or very generous in your consideration? What's your price plans for selling your holdings?

I think it is not unreasonable to have such prediction for bitcoin at this season of halving. The block reward is going to reduce and that means miners would want to add in price before they sell so it is reasonable that volatility will rapidly start to happen as soon as the block split. I would predict around 150k - 200k . So at the point of slight price above 150k, it is suppose to be time to get ready for drop .
I mean everyone has their right to predict what will be the price this year, not sure what prediction model he is referring to but I have a idea already and it did predict $100k last bull run but it never materialized. Anyhow, it's just a wild and educated guess, if it happens then we will be happy to see. But if not, then we still have a good year in 2025 so see how big this bull run is. Let's just say that we will be overjoyed at $100k for this year, and then when the parabolic rise continues, then $150k could be a good conservative estimate as our new all time high for this cycle.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 12, 2024, 10:46:23 AM
Looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves will be getting Karl Anthony Towns back in time for the playoffs. With how well they’ve been playing I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not, but KAT is an elite talent so I’m sure he’ll help out. I just hope Anthony Edwards continues to get the ball as much. He’s playing great.

Honestly, I thought the Wolves might go down in the standings a lot after KAT got injured. To my surprise, that didn't happen, and they are still at the top of the standings. If KAT is indeed fully healthy by the start of the playoffs, then I would expect the Wolves to make a deep run in the playoffs. They have a good chance to make it to the WCF.
No matter who makes it to the Western Conference Finals, I don't think Denver is ready to lay down yet. They are still very dominant in the west and all roads to a championship will lead through them. Feels like a Denver/Boston series coming in June.
Still the Denver Nuggets in the West, all roads lead to them, OKC, Wolves, they are not going to be the team to bet. Nuggets as defending champion still has the advantage mentally against these teams. OKC and Wolves are still very young team, they don't have the experience yet. Clippers have Kawhi who has been in the finals and won, but they are so inconsistent too. While the Nuggets of Jokic/Murray are the next best duo behind Tatum/Brown. But the basketball IQ of Jokic though, no body right now can match him maybe Lebron James, in terms of play making and decision in crucial moments. And it's the primary reason why they become a NBA champion.
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH hit. Anyone, ever bought BTC, is now at profit. Welcome to fraternity... on: April 12, 2024, 08:35:24 AM
Right now, to be honest, what is happening in the market for Bitcoin's market price is quite exciting. Because no one really knows which direction its value will go. If I look at it on the graph,
it looks like there is an ascending triangle forming. I still don't have confirmation to see that his trend direction can suddenly change.

You can really see mixed speculation among the predictors in this regard. Because it's like I haven't seen anything so far that's higher high but higher low, I'm seeing something. So let's see.
It could be viewed as bullish signal to me. And as long as we are above $60k, we are all good, and we haven't seen Bitcoin going down below that price even though there are corrections, the last one, the price goes down to $62k. Now we are back above $70k and could be looking around $75k before the halving if the sentiments continue to be very bullish and the greed index more than 80%. And it's apparent that there is going to be huge demand, we are like a week before the halving, and so investors whether it's Wall Streets, or big name or institutions or just like you and me, regular average joe, everyone wanted to join and doesn't want to missed the boat. The only issues I'm seeing right now is that the fees are somewhat going up again and it could be due to ordinals or runes project or whatever another of this kind surfacing.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 11, 2024, 09:33:35 PM
~
Might not be hiding in the first place? Might just be what they're used to really. Whatever they use is whatever they want to anyway, same with the method of letting their stakes be used in the next round instead of them  getting it immediately.

To the question itself though, probably of societal norms. While in some places it's normal to gamble, in some it's still pretty heavily frowned upon and some people consider a dent in their social life to be a situation similar or even worse to death, so they cover it up. Nothing new there tbh, it's not just gambling, some people hide some pretty stupid stuff just because THEY "think" that it's bad or doesn't match their image.
It's more of the latter though, why would they do and play in a abandon place and then they hide their money and only the cards are exposed? It's obvious that they don't want to be caught by the police playing in the streets, simply as that. But we can't blame them, for sure majority of us has been in this kind of situation before, playing in some obscure places or even at our home, but everything is lock so that no one can enter and discover that you are playing illegally. So yeah, nothing new, but the usual gamblers who plays in public places and wanted to not get captured.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: April 11, 2024, 08:47:48 PM

Until Canelo will be back to his old self in terms of taking risk against a strong opponent, people will continue to criticize him.

I don't think he will go back to taking risks after his loss to Bivol which is very ugly, I don't think he wants a repeat of that loss and the one that will likely give him another humiliating loss like that is David Benavidez, on his first loss against Mayweather his excuse is he is still young and learning but on his loss to Bivol he doesn't have a good excuse.

If he loses again to Benavidez that will ruin his legacy and will stop his claim as the greatest Mexican boxer,
Canelo doesn't want to lose to another Mexican he prefers other nationalities than to his fellow Mexican boxers.

That's what I notice too with Canelo now, after his lost to Bivol, he is taking less risk in his fight. John Ryder? we never heard of him before, and then Jermell Charlo who is a natural super welterweight who has to move 2 divisions north to fight him, and now Munguia, very young fighter and inexperience and a Mexican to boot. He said that he will not be fighting Mexican but I guess if the fighter is less of a threat for him, then he will readily accept it and of course he will get the lion share of the split and then the ppv numbers. Benavidez is a threat for him, so no to another Mexican monster or fellow Mexican boxers.

That's just an excuse on Canelo part, not fighting any Mexicans along his career. But when presented with a good offer from his former promoter or maybe he is targeting Munguia way before because he knows that he can beat the kid, then Canelo will ditch that excuse of not fighting a countryman. And besides, how can he not when there could be a lot of good boxers that is Mexican in his division? And he believes that he has done enough in his career and has cemented his legacies already that he doesn't want David Benavidez in his resume, but that is for another discussion as it is also one hotly topic for boxing fans and Mexicans too.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 11, 2024, 03:42:33 PM
Yes, the West are still very hotly contested and when we thought that a Lakers vs Warriors showdown could be happening, there are still some scenarios that will happen that will not make that event happen. So everyone should really try to win all the games remaining, and this could be the first season that we really appreciate what a play-in should be, teams fighting it out till the last game of the season. Only 1 games are separating this team, so most likely a 2 game winning streak will not be as bad. I know that you are a Warriors fans, and so it's good to see them back, the Klay and Curry hitting those 3's just like during their primes.

There’s a high chance that Lakers will be the opponent of GSW on the play in tournament since Kings has 3 remaining matches which is very manageable for them to win while Lakers have a scheduled match against Pelcs which is in need to win to secure their top 6 position while they have a very close standing before during their previous matches.

I don’t want to see Lakers vs GSW on playin tournament but it seems that it’s destined to happened given how the remaining matches of teams 6th to 10th are all manageable to all of them which means they will just stay on their current position.

The last time Lakers faced the Warriors in a play-in was in the 2020–21 season, when the Lakers were the 7th seed and the Warriors were the 8th seed. The Lakers took that game and got the 7th seed, and the Warriors got to play another game against the Grizzlies, but the Grizzlies beat them and snatched the 8th seed from the Warriors. Looking back, the Warriors that time were not at their best fit, and maybe one of their worst seasons in the Steph Curry era.

If they ever face each other again this season, this will be a great matchup and a history because both of their stars are chasing their 5th ring, so both of them are eager to get to the playoffs. Both teams have struggled this year, as we can see in their standings. I am rooting for the Lakers to win this one since they can become healthy once the play-in comes and they are more experienced in this kind of game.
I think Klay was out that season and then Steph has some injuries as well that why it's one of their worst. But they come back and win the next year isn't it? They will really need to find their rhythm in the play-in if ever they are going to face each other. And I do agree, who wouldn't love a classic matchup between Steph Curry and Lebron James. But I will side with the Lakers here. AD is healthy, although didn't play the last game. But him and Lebron could give the Warriors a lot of issues specially AD who can dominate the paint, play one on one. The Warriors are going to be a huge underdog I reckon.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin been inflitrated by global elite? on: April 11, 2024, 03:22:01 PM
Between chain analytics companies, BlackRock, Saylor, centralized exchanges/government approval, demonizing/de-listing of privacy coins & wallets....etc, one has to wonder...has Bitcoin been infiltrated by global elite?

There is clearly a global agenda to gain control of populations, through every possible means. IMO, you have to very ignorant at this point to think otherwise.
Yeah, when this big companies enter the picture, it seems that Bitcoin has the whales and this big institutions willing to commit.

Is Bitcoin really freedom money?
If you mean sound money? yeah perhaps, but the end game here is that everyone wanted to make profits. And that's why those who are early adopters have all the advantage specially if they amassed large quantities and could still be holding up to this game as the rules have change already when this big boys enter the market. However, we, retail investors can still consider it freedom money, at it can give us "financial freedom".
137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC go back to $40K - $30K range before a bigger rally? on: April 10, 2024, 09:40:59 PM
There is this hidden reversal pattern that Bitcoin is forming on the daily time frame, And when this is formed in the major area of resistance, it 70% of the time causes a reversal in the price of an asset, and if this plays out, this will see Bitcoin go retest $64k, a support zone of the wedge pattern that saw the price out yesterday and failure to hold that support, we will see a continuous melting down of the price of Bitcoin down to $60k-$58k, Where I see a major area of support for buyers to step in and to try to push the price back up; however, we don't know what pre-halving and post-Halving entails.
On the contrary, I haven't seen any reversal, the price is going up again and hitting around $70k as we speak. So there is still this buying pattern, and as we close the block halving, it's very easy to say that there is panic buying that is going to happen before the actual halving date. Let's see how it goes, we should be excited that we will be in another bull run or block halving. And for those who are in their first time to see this happen, I would recommend to stay late and observe what is going to happen in this activity. So for now let's just look at the fundamentals and not make it overcomplicated for some of us with technicals, just saying.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 10, 2024, 03:29:35 PM
Lakers vs Warriors, which team will be eliminated first?

Both teams performed about the same during the regular season, and it's not so clear at this moment which of these two teams will be eliminated first. In addition, there are still 2-3 games left until the end of the regular season. So there's a small chance that the Lakers and Warriors might not face each other in the play-in tournament.
The 6th to 10th spot is very tight. So tight that every win or lose from either team can change the standing of other team or themselves as well.
I looked at the remaining games of the teams on the 6th to 10th spot, and I would say that the hardest remaining schedule are the Suns because they will be facing the Clippers (again), the Kings and the Timberwolves. On the other hand, the Warriors for me are the easiest because they will be facing 2 eliminated teams and New Orleans

Overall, I agree with what you said that there's still a chance that both the Lakers and the Warriors might not be facing on the 9th-10th spot because if we see the Suns losing on all of their 3 games, the might go down to 9th or even 10th. The spot for the play-in tournament in the West is still tight and unpredictable. Speaking of the Warriors, they're the first team ever to make 25+ 3 pointers on 60% 3-pt FG percentage or more. It's kind of nostalgic because it looks like we've seen the Warriors a few years ago where they're just shooting threes here and there. Cheesy
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 10, 2024, 02:44:56 PM
(...)In your case, how do you approach when you are on losing streak so badly on specific game. Does changing game works for you?

I understand your feelings when you are going through a losing streak. Perhaps you need to change the atmosphere and look for positive things to avoid making wrong decisions. I know many people who have lost themselves because of wrong decisions. Normally, we gamble and want to win, but when the real experience is not as expected, confusion and irresponsible actions arise afterwards. Anyway, continue to observe your own behavior and I don't want to talk too much about gambling addicts, but I really see that people are hurting themselves with their behavior. The simplest thing is to change immediately change old behaviors and move to accepting different things.
Well getting yourself involved in gambling could be wrong decision itself. As for the question of the OP, obviously if you are in a losing streak so badly on a specific game then simply stop and don't continue with it, (and from what I gather from your post, your mostly a black jack player so I assume this is the specific game that you are referring?). So that will be my initial strategy, quit and then just let it settle down. In my own case, if I have a losing streak on roulette, then I will also simply quit. And then just observe without any bet to see how unlucky I am and then back in the next couple of days after I already move forward from my losing streak.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 10, 2024, 02:19:37 PM

Of course Ryan can hype his fight more because he is already a social media influencer like Jake Paul. Imagine if Ryan and Mungia wins? Oscar De la Hoya will be the happiest man on earth. Cheesy
Not only that will make Oscar the happiest promoter but Ryan believes that if he wins against Haney, which many doubt he will become the face of boxing, he claims to have touched what other boxers have done and that is becoming a social media king
