1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: February 22, 2015, 01:09:47 PM
Just curious.  About a week or two ago I mentioned if anyone looked into adding masternodes or instant x to DMD?  What is everyone's thoughts on that?  I think a masternode might be a great way to decentralize the coin more and also create lot's of demand on the coin.  The coin will be even more rare.  It doesn't have to take a lot of DMD to run a mn.  Say 250 to activate one.  But this will allow us to help decentralize the network.  We could do either a wallet based MN like Spreadcoins or a vpn based mn like Darkcoins?  Any thoughts as to why or why not this would or wouldn't work?  Do we have the programmers able to implement this?  Just food for thought.

Seems like a really great idea if implemented the right way. I strongly disagree with what Charlie Lee said for Litecoin, that LTC does not need new fancy gimmicks. Look at where LTC is now.

Each and every project, including DMD, need constant improvement and innovations which make it stand out from other similar projects. I feel DMD has already got a bunch of nice traits but that does not mean we cannot introduce more and make it even more attractive.

Introducing nodes would at one side generate additional demand for the coin to set up a node, thus making it even more rare and consequently pushing the price up. On the other hand, it would bring profit to the node owner. I would only raise the limit for the node, maybe to at least 500 coins per node. That s under $100 and I think it would be acceptable for everyone.

Agreed.  I just threw out an arbitrary number.  The reason I bring it up is that anyone with longevity mindset can open a masternode and invest long term in addition to the POS staking wallet.  If someone wants to rent a VPN they are going to be more committed to the success of the coin.  It will give a short term and long term investor multiple ways into DMD.  And I believe we would be the first POW, POS, MN wallet?  Correct me if I am wrong.  Liquidity would come in daily POS and MN payments.  I am also sure that with the cloudmining buy pressure the value of DMD would go nuts.

So just wondering if anyone has any news on the testing?  Do I keep my wallet running or are we in limbo waiting for some response from Mr. Spread?  Does anyone have any contact with Mr. Spread?

Actually, since this pool mining option is available, I've decided to buy several thousand SPR.

Like I said, thanks for the liquidity  Wink

same here

If you also want to mine, hop on the pool and tell me which miners you need :-)

Can I just use my spreadminer or did you create a special one?

NM - I just biffed myself!  Sending pm now.

-- snip --

But for 2 BTC u can get 290x and compensate for lover hashrate and when the mining days of SPR is over u can use it for other coins Wink
Think big, is meant for those GPU farms with tens or hundreds of GPUs.

I'm mining over two days 2 x r9 280 not single block.  I see now because farms using optimized miner getting all the blocks.  Not even chance to get few coins on pool.  Wasted time mining just burn electricity.  I give up and stop mining.  This is big farm coin only.

LOL - not true - I mine from my little home with (10) 750ti's and hit blocks every day - my block range is somewhere between 4-8 blocks per day.
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Testing New Masternodes on: February 15, 2015, 08:48:23 PM
Is anyone else finding blocks that never appear in their wallet? I am successfully mining to these wallets but some found blocks do not seem to make it to my total. I thought maybe I was just finding the same block as another miner and they were faster to confirm but this happens too frequently for that. It seems about every 4 blocks found I lose 1. Also seems to be more frequent on slower cards such as 270X.

I mine to one wallet with (2) rigs (2) computers.  I have never lost a block.  I am at a loss for you in understanding the error.  Anyone else?

Don't get me wrong.

I think spreadcoins nodes as they are ATM, should still be called masternodes, since they are basically derived from darkcoin, and even use instantx the very same feature that belongs to darkcoin.

But spreadcoins goal is to create its own kind of servernodes, that will do different things in different ways.

At some point the namechange will make obvious sense.

But not now.

So stay tuned.

Gotta make some of that spread man, I want my spread right now man, make something so I can get my spread instantly man.

What shall we call it if we can get Spread instantly ?  Roll Eyes

Anyway I think it is good we are talking about names and the uses that SPR will have.

A rose is still a rose by any other name....  Tongue

Why are people comparing DRK and SPR and as if they are competing? DRK focuses on anon while SPR focuses on decetralization and it does not even have anon in the plans or does it???

You are absolutely right.

I think it's troublesome that both DRK and SPR use the word "masternode"... and "instantX"....

As far as I am concerned, those words belong to DRK.

I advocate that spreadcoin uses its own names for its technologies, so that it is not constantly associated with DRK.

I agree, SPR should adapt the names SpreadNode/SpreadSeed & Instant Spread.

Spreadseed sounds weird.

I like Spreadnode and SpreadX

Maybe after all the Darkcoin and Spreadcoin hate fades maybe the devs can think of a way for them both to work together in the future.  Create some type of project that utilizes both networks. Could be a cool collaboration. Spread the Dark. lol

DarkSpread?

still arguing over this bullshit? ...

seriously guys - LOOK at the coin and what its doing and make a decision as to whether you want it or not ...

if you do - then JOIN the community in a constructive way ... if you dont - then go away instead of arguing ridiculous 'facts' that are no more factual than the yeti ...

either way its all good ... but to continue arguing and filling these pages with crap - seriously ...

let the advancements continue - whether they are copied or not ... look at most of the US 'advancements' in technology in the space world ... a great deal of them from the nazi research ... copied and IMPROVED ...

just this continual BLEATING of things that you know nothing about ...

can ANYONE tell the future of spr? ... NUP! ...

can anyone tell whats going to happen to spr? ... NUP!! ...

can anyone foresee the price and advancements - if any? ... NUP!!! ...

speculation - all of it ... what on earth do ANY of you know about the future of spr? ... nothing! ...

you can all estimate - guesstimate - hope - wish - and imagine ... but you CANT foretell the future ...

its just that SOME of us keep to the gradual advancement of the coin - including drk - including btc - including so many others - that we dont want to be bombarded with shitty arguments over what WILL happen ... no one knows what WILL happen ... its all an opinion or belief ...

thats it ...

Can anyone tell me what the hashrate is on a 750ti on SP's modified Spreadminer please.  If you don't want it public please PM me.  I am trying to see if it is worth me purchasing it at this point.  Thanks.

it usually is worth donating in general to sp and other devs - purely just for the input they have done for the public miners ...

but the private miner is definitely worth it also - only for windows though ...

#crysx

I run Windows and a set of 10 750 ti's.  What is the average they are getting per card on the new miner.  I have no problem donating just want to make sure i am not gaining 10 kh/s.

i have shifted all my farm to gigabyte 750ti oc lp cards on linux - so i can tell you that the 'standard' miner from tsiv gets about 1450KH and sp has increased that hashrate ( from what ive been told ) by about 200-300KHash per card ...

so 10 cards would amount to a nice figure Wink ...

i unfortunately cant use it - as i refuse to rebuild the entire farm in windows - especially BECAUSE its windows ...

#crysx

Ty crysx - that is significant

I have a modded and optimized spreadcoin miner for the NVIDIA GPU's. (compute 5.0 and compute 5.2)

Donate 0.1 BTC, pm me with your email adress and I will send the miner to you. (windows executable)

The miner is beeing improved every week, and current version is release number 5.

The next build (build 6) will support Compute 3.5 devices as well.

Note that this is a beta version of the miner, and the finished version will be published along with sourcecode but it could take months.

Sp - what is the 750ti getting on your improved miner?

@ Cryptonit, Danbi, or Popshot:

Have either of you considered implementing masternodes into the wallet code?  As in Darkcoin or Spreadcoin.  Spreadcoin dev found a way to make them simple and included in the wallet gui so no VPS is needed.  It is a way to help the value of DMD at the same time securing the network better.  We are in the testing phase right now on Spreadcoin however Darkcoin has been running them for a while.  The way it will work on Spreadcoin is that each masternode (1440 total) will be loaded with a number of coins minimum 100 and then everyone has the right to put more in their masternode to compete for others.  For example if 1440 masternodes were filled with 100 SPR and someone created a new one with 101 SPR one of the masternodes with (100 spr) in it would drop from the network to allow the maximum of 1440.  It is going to create a nice upwards competition on the mn's at the same time helping increase the value of SPR.  Do you think that some form of that would be viable for DMD?  I am not technical in terms of programming but the white pages and info is listed under Spreadcoin's bct thread.

part of dmd cloudmining imcome sources are 20 thash amhash1
they have a pause in operation which will affect their payouts until begin of march

-----------------------------------
Dear Customers,

We will pause the transaction and dividends of AMHash from 10th February  to 28th February for The Spring Festival Holiday coming. And we will restart all those things in the beginning of March.

AMHash Team
----------------------------------

believe me im not happy about such events
but hashrate direct at hardware producers
should be considered the most secure path

i myself think the reason sounds like bullshit
and i expect the truth is more that the move hardware to another place
which for so many miners can easy take 2 weeks

also its know asicminer plan to release 0.3w gear in march
maybe they work on a amhash2 product based on this
and relocate hardware in preparation into a bigger warehouse

all just speculations but more realistic than 3 weeks. holydays?

Cryptonit - I read the message on their site and it says a pause in hashrate transfer and dividends?  Does that mean operations are shutting down or just the frontend interface?  They may still be mining and do all of the payouts when they return?  Do you have a way to inquire through a phone call or email?

truth = attack?

Ok - I don't usually comment on things like this but I just need to say, it is hard for me to tell if you actually like DMD or not.  Some posts you are so for it and some you are so against it.  Which is it?  I want to listen to what you have to say but then sometimes I want to hit the ignore button.  Are you a proponent of DMD or a fudster?  If a fudster than "ignore" it is.  But it seems you are constantly attacking Cryptonit or Popshot or Danbi or someone.  Please help me understand.  Sometimes you have good input and then I think you are for the coin.  Do you see my dilemma?

pokeytex
What do you view as attack? by bringing whatever to light is an attack? Misinterpretation.  Name what u consider attack against any of devs.  Danbi himself replied to pool problems positivly by saying he is happy to see new pools to take load off.  Popshot, when have I "attacked" him my contact toward him is only pool related.  Cryptonit, yes there have been language translation problems and misinterpretaitons in the past.  Examine my wallet and the decide if I am proponent.
I just dislike dishonesty and behind the scenes plans.

Ok - I just feel the tone of your posts is sometimes hot and sometimes cold.  So I am just trying to figure it out.  I don't have the time to go back through all of the posts and I am sorry if I am misunderstanding but I have no problem with you.  I am just curious as to where you stand on DMD for or against scenario?  Do you still believe in the coin?  For my own curiosity.

edit: looked at wallet - that is a healthy amount of DMD - that is good to see.
