PC, who the fuck bothers with consoles except 7-12 year olds? Build a way better PC these days for the price of them monstrosities!

I don't think games like "The last of us" or "God of war" are a 7 yo games You can build a PC at the same price, that will be close in terms of performance (a 400$/€ PC won't perform better than a PS4) but the thing about consoles is exclusives, and if I were to buy a console it would be the PS4 as it can play games at full 1080p and with decent frame rates unlike the XBOne.

I'm a PC guy and I didn't own a console in almost a decade now, but that being said I still believe there is a market for consoles due to exclusives and game library.

With low level api that advantage consoles had over general purpose PCs is gone! So yes, I'm sorrybto say a £450 PC will crush a console. This I did say in my last... More lengthy post which you must have skipped. As I love tech and have done for decades I actually look beyhond what the msm says. I know the true horrors of the state of technology and its ugly and sad. for someone whonloves tech and as been dissapointed for 15 or so years bitcoin space is a fucking revalation! The excellerated growth that will come from this will make the industrial revolution look like childs play!

It's still not gone, Low API like Mantle and (maybe DX12)  is still far from the level of optimization consoles has, They are designed for game first and for most, in the other hand PC are PC to begin with.

A 450£ will be better in some cases than a PS4 while it will not in other the thing is the PS4 will have a more consistent experience and it will not "crush" as you claim also 450£ is way more than the PS4 price.

I can make a 450 system around a r9 280x easy. Absolutely abliterate the ps4. No bells or whistles but I can do it. 20 years in the industry though, should know my stuff.

I've had the unfortunate displeasure of using a xbone 1 and its shocking. So called killer title titan fall looks very little better than 360 titles. And compared to ps4 its a joke. At least ps4 made a gaming console! MS just needs die already! There just copyright IP trolls these days.

Ok I want to see you building a system at the same price as the PS4 with the same IOs (bluray reader and what's not) based on the 280x of course all components has to be new from trusted shops with warranties and not brought from black markets you have 400€/$ 350£ go ahead.

bad for your health people should not do drugs, but again adults can do what they want

Living is bad for your health. That is a proven fact. To maintain perfect health you should drink only water, eat only healthy food. Keep yourself fit etc. This is the perfect life for you?

Doing drugs and drinking can make you do some stupid stuff, it's not only a danger for your self but you become dangerous to others
Also why should I pay taxes for someone who's poisoning himself with drugs, smoking .....and is most likely to get cancer or heart issues or some other expensive disease

btw did OP die?

Cheesy Cheesy wasnt he supposed to meet some hooker after his last post?

Oh shit did he get in trouble with the hooker? maybe she called someone that wasn't very nice

Nah, the body recovers! Anyway, who wants to die with his/her body still in perfect condition? Cheesy
Of course the body recovers, ask the people that were in Tchernobyl when it went poof and stayed there the next day since they didn't know about the radio active materials being spread all over the place, they were healthy for a day or two after that then things went ...

1228  Other / Off-topic / Re: 3D printing is overrated? on: April 14, 2014, 11:42:26 PM
there aren't many advantages of it but the main thing why it's so awesome is that it gives us the option to imagine that one day anything we see online we could simply print out and use it

Well, I was also thinking the same. The 3D printers are so expensive right now, but one day maybe everyone would be able to afford it just like 2D printers.

Wait..  can't I just 3D-print a 3D printer?  Grin

Technically you can, you'll need many 3D printers that are specialized in different parts to make the whole 3D printer
why? because a 3D printer, is composed of mechanical parts, electronic parts, electromagnetic parts in some cases (lasers and what's not) .............

Today there isn't a single printers that does everything, there are 3d printer that can make most of the mechanical parts but from there you'll need the rest of the parts

and you'll need to put them together by yourself Wink
Not all of them, the thing about 3D printing is that you can get out of the box parts that are already assembled, heck you can build a closed system with components inside lets say something like a gear box for example something that you can't do with traditional process

How far away is it? 5 year? 10 year? 50 years?  Smiley

I'd say both 5 AND 10 years. And 50 too. All of them in a box, with a cat. Smiley

with some deadly gas/poison feeded to the box right ?

how can that be multitasking ? if mining is done on it own and trading is done with a bot
1233  Other / Off-topic / Re: How the Robots Will Take Over on: April 14, 2014, 06:14:40 PM
Yea I'd say nano bots are a legitimate cause for concern.  I recently seen a vid discussing governments making bugs spy on others buy controlling their flight and using tiny cameras.  Also add in the advancement of the robotic technology and quantum computing I could imagine such a thing as nano bots but I'd suspect they would only be able to do limited tasks in my lifetime.

there is worst than that, implementing chips on bugs and controlling them (if this is left without constraint and legislation bugs are going to be only the begining, I see that implemented in animals next and then to humans )

How about the OP start this thread with posting his photos and personal info and from there other people might consider.

1238  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: April 14, 2014, 06:01:06 PM
firefox with some addons, tor and from time to time IE10
1239  Other / Off-topic / Re: How the Robots Will Take Over on: April 14, 2014, 05:59:13 PM
there are two main problems before robots can take over :
1-Inteligence
2-Energy

For intelligence, I think that will come with the Quantum computing
And energy like wise (if we imagine we are talking about cyborg like robots) is coming with nanotubes (for battery tech) and what's not and in the long term nuclear fusion. if the Robots can be a giant machine this is not an issue as it can have chemical power engines such as combustion engine to produce the necessary power being it electric, hydraulic or mechanical

thanks to all the computing power his country will have it will be number one in now time ^^
