1221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need a good LTC wallet please on: March 22, 2014, 07:48:18 PM
Thanks for the info. flounderella.

you could speed it up with this https://litecoin.info/Bootstrap.dat

Is there anyway you could please break that down into more layman's terms and explain to me how to get that bootstrap file into my Litecoin directory?
1222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need a good LTC wallet please on: March 22, 2014, 06:57:25 PM
I have not, brother. Completely new to Litecoin, fairly new to Bitcoin (though I have been following it for a good while). I downloaded the Qt off of Litecoin.org as was suggested. I will def. check out the site you posted in a little bit, I already have 4 tabs open and the Litecoin program is still catching up on 2 years of transactions, slowing down my computer a little. I'm thinking this might take a while...
1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need a good LTC wallet please on: March 22, 2014, 06:08:03 PM
Hmm....    Duh. Thanks man. Reminds me of the time I lost my cell phone but it was in my hand the whole time, lol.  Grin
Dowloaded Litecoin-Qt 0.8.6.2 for Windows. It's synchronizing with the LTC network right now, lot of catching up to do. What all can I do with this program? Just store, send, and receive LTC?
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Need a good LTC wallet please on: March 22, 2014, 05:52:24 PM
Hey guys, looking into getting into Litecoin by trying out some faucet sites, maybe looking into scrypt mining, etc. But I need a good, trusted Litecoin wallet to setup first. Any suggestions? Thanks.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / CPU mining on: March 22, 2014, 05:49:38 PM
Hey everybody, I was wanting to find out some info. about CPU mining. Now, before anyone and everyone says it, I know it will not be profitable. This is just more or less a fun thing for me to try out. What options do I have? What is better, to mine a tiny fractional amount of BTC or go for mining LTC or other alts? What sites could help me (besides buying into cloud mining sites)? I am not very computer savvy, and I realize how ridiculous that sounds when talking about mining BTC. Thanks.
1226  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase and Overstock.com: The results are in! on: March 20, 2014, 02:49:01 AM
Wow, over 1 million USD in BTC sales in little over 2 months, very impressive! Can't wait to see the whole year's total. Good news for the whole community and economy! Hopefully other retailers see what they're missing out on. Reminding myself to buy some items off of Overstock.com to support them later on when my BTC wallet is a little fatter.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 20, 2014, 01:35:13 AM
This sucks for you guys and all of us. Personally, I feel like because the SEC is onto them, that it will become a big story with a sensational Bitcoin-fear mongering headline here in the US mainstream media. I feel like this would lead to trying to get the majority of the public Against BTC and trying to pass more restrictions on it in the U.S.
1228  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain.info proving to be completely incompetent? on: March 20, 2014, 01:26:25 AM
I posted this thread the other day where one of the employees from Blockchain addressed the problems. I don't think he Actually said anything specific about it, but maybe you could message him. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=520241.0

Hey guys, I just searched for this forum on the App Store on my iPhone and I saw this one on there that says it was released March 16th. Has anybody tried this out? Note- I did Not develop this app and have no idea about it.

1232  Economy / Lending / Re: Loans offered on: March 19, 2014, 11:06:34 PM
I see, that makes sense but as far as myself I don't have any Litecoins, so in order to have collateral I would probably have to go buy LTC with fiat right?
1233  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 19, 2014, 10:58:50 PM
It is so funny this is popping up here today of all days. I had decided i wanna invest in marijuana related stocks cause i see a big boom coming and then here is this thread. So snarlpill...full disclosure what do you own? hehe...

@TrollboxChamp
I have an individual brokerage account with Scottrade. If you are looking into getting a trading account with a legitimate company, starting out as a basic trader - more advanced trader, I would recommend it. $500 min. to open. Basically $7 flat to buy, and $7 to sell. Stocks under $1 are a tiny bit more. You can get a check or wire transfer anytime if you have settled funds available (3 days min. after shares sold).

But anyways- as far as marijuana related stocks, I definitely do recommend them just in my personal opinion. I've owned and traded MJNA a lot and also CBIS, both of which have been doing pretty well lately. So those but also I watch GRNH. There are a few marijuana investing advocacy groups really promoting a lot of other listed companies, so there are a lot of others to look into. The way I see it, investing in marijuana could be a temporary "bubble," but in the long-term I think things are only destined to rise as legalization continues to spread, this is something I believe in so I definitely don't mind investing in it. All of these comments are just my personal opinions by the way.
1234  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 19, 2014, 10:45:17 PM
The following is a story from trading stocks today. If you are not interested in trading stocks and prices it might bore you, I don't know.

Hey guys. Made 2 big mistakes today trading stocks. When I finally got around to checking my brokerage account's watchlist, I saw that ISR was up from $1.10 to $1.93. This was already around a 70% increase, which in my opinion you don't see very often. Usually if I am late to the party and a stock has already went up 70%+, if I jump in and buy, everybody already has sell orders executing because of the day's rises, then I get burned. Today I had seen the huge volume in it, this was around 2 pm, and the price at $1.93, I set a limit order to buy at $2.07, but watched as it climbed and climbed. Was going to raise my buy limit price to $2.10 but then decided to watch it live on my phone while I had a "market" buy order ready to click on my laptop as I saw the price drop to the lowest possible. Anyways, somehow my waiting hand accidentally clicked "buy" on my order and I bought 75 shares for $2.38. I thought to myself- Damn it! I thought everybody was going to continue selling and I had accidentally bought it way too high. So then I waited. I saw it steadily rising a little at a time, so I figured if I could pull off $2.54 a share I would be able to squeeze out a little in the positive. So I waited and waited some more. Then I saw it start to rise pretty fast. As it neared $2.50, I went to again cancel my limit order of "sell" for $2.54 and try to squeeze out the highest market price available. Long story short there- The price continued to raise. I ended up not cancelling my sell @ $2.54 order, it executed without me knowing, and then I sadly watched as the price went up further from $2.54 topping out at $3.04 for the day. It opened at $1.10! This stock went up from $1.10 to $3.04 today, nearly an 180% increase and nearly tripled. I kicked myself for not going all in at $1.93. Today's volume was around 87.39 million.

Anyways, does anybody think ISR will continue to rise tomorrow? @5thStreetResearch do you have any thoughts on that stock? I bought 58 more shares after-hours at $2.50 with money I will have settling tomorrow.

How do you guys work out collateral on here?
1236  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 19, 2014, 05:42:54 PM

Rolls are not recorded because doing so will cause excessive database load and will bloat it unnecessarily. Even if you roll 8888, unless you tick the box that says "JACKPOT (0.00000002 BTC added to your bet for a chance to win 0.00010593 BTC)" you won't win the jacpot.

Hmm, I though clicking the "jackpot" box only added more of your bet to the total payout amount, and you could roll the 08888 at any time for the total you had accumulated. I see now though, thank you.
1237  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info down? on: March 19, 2014, 05:35:50 PM
web wallet services got restored last night...the iphone app got restored at some point this morning... everything seems to be all good now Smiley

What iPhone app do you use? The only BTC wallet app I use is called Baseline, couldn't find any official Blockchain app.

@Portnoy, you want an address for the lottery that's not my daily used address? If so, here's my Coinbase address: 1FNEkdpG8axCZa1CZpiK1oSxzuHi8Aawi2
Thanks man.

How often has someone won the now 0.29623290 BTC on a free spin? And also I'm almost positive I have hit 8888 on the Hi-lo game on 1 or 2 occasions and not won the "jackpot." Is there anyway to check my past rolls?
1240  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is thre a way to instantly deposit funds into BTC-e or Bitstamp? on: March 19, 2014, 05:17:58 PM
I used Coinbase.com which took 4 days from my bank account transfer to coins. For someone newly getting into BTC and eager to have my first coins, that felt like forever. Then I used coin.mx and after confirming my bank account, the coins were in my wallet within an hour. They are located in the U.S. and are fully legit, I will vouch for them. Great customer support too. Live chat, and they'll call you to confirm. Hope this helps.
