1221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In your own words: What is the purpose of Bitcoin? on: September 26, 2015, 02:26:22 AM
i believe its purpose is to change the old system of money, i believe bitcoins have a lot of potential of growing more and more in the future hopefully it will become the main currency in the world

I think so too, but it's also to capitalize on something that could be finite in the digital world.  Having only 21 million bitcoins that could ever be obtained is going to be the best thing for bitcoin imo.  It's literally like having digital gold, where the amount of gold on earth is limited and only so much can be mined up; but with bitcoins, it's like having gold where you can pay anyone anywhere in the world with it.

A little better than back in the day when people would have to carry around a sack of gold coins to pay for goats and cattle.
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TO all miners and bitcoin holders would you? on: September 26, 2015, 02:20:45 AM
I know bitcoin has potential to grow and i have hold a little because i believe bitcoin will be number one cryptocurrency

Are you trying to tell us that bitcoin isn't already the number one cryptocurrency?  lol, I think we all know that bitcoin is number one when regarding the market size and price point.  It's not like your taking a huge risk, like you would when investing into an altcoin in hopes of it's price/market size to rise.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you play loteries ,did you won something on: September 26, 2015, 02:17:18 AM
I know a person that spents all his salary of retirement into these loteries and then after win some reinvest and loose all the person asks money to others to eat,why would you spend all money into some dream of big prize?

Because that's the lure of lotto. A small investment for the promise of big profits. However, that person you know is the kind of people doesn't know when to put an end to his loses.

Yikes, that's a pretty harsh gambling addiction your friend has.  The most I've ever seen someone spend on the lottery (in this case scratch off's) in one sitting is $300.  We were at a bar that sold them, and everyone was laughing so hard at him every time he would ferociously scratch off those things, and then kind of look up with those sad puppy dog eyes, and the look of pure defeat.  But, I mean he didn't go on to put his whole salary into them, and knew when to quit.  I can't believe someone will go so far as to put everything they have into a lotto.  That's just absurd.
1224  Economy / Services / Re: Suggest Token Name and get 0.001 BTC on: September 26, 2015, 01:56:02 AM
lol just name it fiat

confuse the hell out of everyone, and may actually gain some attention.

or you could name it puzzle. what's the puzzle That's the puzzle!!
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circle Spanks Bitcoin with Account Restrictions, Bitcoin-Free Ads, and Limits on: September 26, 2015, 01:48:04 AM
I just closed my circle account.  Very disappointing.  I'm using coinbase till Gemini launches.

I used coinbase a while back but recently stuck with using circle, because at the time, it was a very convenient way to sync my bank account info to the site and by bitcoins using my checking account.  Just as of now, I tried to buy a good bit of bitcoin and they gave me around 40% of my initial deposit in bitcoin and then told me to wait 4 business days so now I have to wait for the next week to get the rest of my bitcoins in.  It's just a very inconvenient way to purchase bitcoins, but I guess I'll have to use coinbase now to buy in the meantime, because of the fact that there is no one around me that uses localbitcoins for me to buy.

Circle definitely gave the bitcoin community the long hard shaft on this one.
1226  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: September 26, 2015, 01:11:22 AM
I stumbled across this article recently:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enclosure

"By dealing an ultimately crippling blow to the monarchy (which, even after the Restoration, no longer posed a significant challenge to enclosures) the Civil War paved the way for the eventual rise to power in the 18th century of what has been called a "committee of Landlords",[26] a prelude to the UK’s parliamentary system."

See? A committee of landlords became today's parliament, it means most of today's high powered rich class are already formed centuries ago, they own almost everything in the country, rest of the people are just struggling to make a living on their land, and maybe die without anything worth mention

Of course from time to time someone arise and successfully earn some money by provide products/services to the mass, but take so called richest guy Bill Gates for example, he could not even afford 1/10 of the land in a large city. That is not rich at all comparing with those land lords

So what you are trying to say is to go back in time and own a bunch of land in the 18th century? lol.

And if you are pointing to the fact that there is still more bitcoin to mine and you could be a major owner of "land", meaning bitcoin, at this day in age which is still cheap to invest if you think that bitcoins prices will hit the $1k-$10K range... then I think you might be right.  The time is now I think to start investing heavily into bitcoin, but at the same time, I would hate to see the same corrupt pyramid type of system where the people who invested early on in the cryptocurrency system will reap the benefits from here on out if bitcoin were to become a global currency.

I would personally like to see a better, easier way to transact money, where everyone will have equal opportunity to make it big... not just those who invested early on and now have so much purchasing power that they don't know what to do with it.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TO all miners and bitcoin holders would you? on: September 26, 2015, 01:05:56 AM
Independent on the Bitcoin price I'd never invest in mining equipment. I'd rather buy Bitcoin directly than mining.
If it's overpriced I sell my coins, otherwise I'd hold until the next big price movement.

I'd have to second this... it's so hard now and days to get a good ROI when investing into ASIC's and other miners of the like, unless you have a major amount of cash you are sitting on that's doing nothing and want to industrialize mine... but that would take a lot of effort and work and investment that has a very big potential of going horribly wrong at any point in time.  So I would say that, especially with bitcoins price being so low, that it would be more profitable to buy bitcoins or work for them rather than trying to mint them your self.

Then that issue comes into question about the fact that industrialized mining is making bitcoins more centralized, which is another issue... but these threads always start in some aspect of an issue and progress into another one.  So I thought I would just go ahead and get the ball rolling lol.
1228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Eventually the FUNGIBILITY issue of bitcoin will make headlines ... on: September 26, 2015, 01:00:51 AM
All US money is numbered, so unless you have a large block of $100 sequential bills it is hard to trace. Fiat is traceable to a point, so is Bitcoin. I really have no idea why fungibility is so concerning. Bitcoin has mixers, convenience stores, grocery stores are fiat mixers, along with that nice restaurant you enjoy.

I don see this being an issue, but maybe my tinfoil hat isn't on tight enough?

Ufo

Sure bitcoins have mixers, but along with having to have to send your bitcoins to that site that mixes it for you, you still are risking your bitcoins because some of those mixers turn out to be scams and just take everything you send them.  Also, what good is it to send in your bitcoins that are say, freshly minted and have no bad history with it, and mixing it in with a bunch of coins with a bad history?  Overall, I say that anyone who is having to send their bitcoins into a mixer are literally just mixing bad coins with bad coins... so yes, the person who is sending in their coins to be mixed get away with the scam they just committed, but two wrong turns don't make a right; in other words, mixing bad with bad doesn't make it good.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the btc transaction time? on: September 26, 2015, 12:48:38 AM
Yeah, I would never trust sending a transaction of mine anywhere without including a miners fee... just because it's notorious of just getting lost and never being confirmed.  I would always recommend allowing your wallet to tax on a miners fee at all times.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Bitcoin accepted Store around you? on: September 26, 2015, 12:30:56 AM
A lot of major cities now have a lot of places. I like to pull out the app (coin traveler) and see around me when I travel.
In Madrid there was a whole street spotted with locations. And 3 BTC ATMs.
In LA there's everything from Lamborginis to Tax accountants that accept BTC.

That's pretty awesome, I wish there were a couple of bitcoin ATM's that were around where I lived...

If I were to open a business that wanted to carry an bitcoin ATM, what would that cost?  I never really saw a price that one of those goes for.
1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Bitcoin billboard on: September 26, 2015, 12:28:39 AM

Lol, I don't like this design, too cult-ish, would scare people away. We need something more simple, with a sense of humor, or just serious at all, because people may not get the joke. We need to inform people. Some rich guy should pay for OP's billboard in a highway.

I agree with you here on this one.  If this is in the US then I don't think this would settle well, especially for people around where I live,
It's in the heart of Silicon Valley, on a busy 8-lane expressway, where it can be seen by a lot of techies on their morning commute.
About 100 feet away is a billboard for a strip club, which would distract the bible belt people. :-)

Haha that is not entirely true... while religious freaks down here love their bible, they also love boos, boobs, and college football.  I just think that we can give an overall better image of bitcoin rather than being "cultish" though, and that's exactly what I thought when I saw that billboard.
1232  Economy / Speculation / Re: No More Rocket To The Moon Ever on: September 26, 2015, 12:25:31 AM
agree we will not seeing price up again, it's time to sell your coins not before price low than now Wink

Care to share more of your opinions?  I think that while bitcoin may not see the $1K price point ever again, I think that it will still remain a good investment in terms of using as a future currency.  Plus I think that bitcoin will share it purchasing power with another altcoin that offers better security capabilities than bitcoin, and I think there will be another alt coin that will offer faster transactions than bitcoin.  I think that bitcoin will be the basis of what we will base the value of the other alternative coins, just like how we value the bitcoins that are circulating today in fiat terms.
1233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: September 26, 2015, 12:21:06 AM
I like bitcoin because payments can be anonymous and you get the fastest transaction only takes an hour to transfer money

Though it may be a faster way to pay anywhere you want to pay in the world... it's not completely anonymous though.  It's pseudonymous, in where you can pay someone without entirely knowing who the person is, but every transaction in the world can be traced on the block chain.
1234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make Bitcoin transactions untraceable? on: September 25, 2015, 10:06:06 PM
I think that bitcoin just needs to settle with what it intended to be in the first place... A future currency adopted by the masses that can easily transfer currency to one another without knowing the person you are sending money too.  When you want the currency to be adopted by everyone, young or old, you have to make it simple.  I think bitcoin is doing just fine with all of this, and is gaining more and more popularity through media.

Now if you want security and the purchasing power of bitcoin, I would just say you get a cold wallet to store a majority of bitcoins, and with the rest of the bitcoins left over, merge them to getting another more "secure" coin like monero or something of the like.  This way you can just keep switching back and forth, whenever you feel the need to be secure, go with monero, but when you feel the need of holding on to bitcoin for the purchasing power you can transfer your monero into bitcoin using shapeshift.
1235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest hope regarding Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2015, 09:57:49 PM
I think a better question is, "what is your biggest hope regarding cryptocurrencies?"

Well let me delve upon that idea.  My biggest hope for cryptocurrencies in general is for bitcoin to become more and more supported by people opening up more nodes on their computers, which will help transaction times out a lot better.  I think this is essential if we would want a mass adoption type of thing going on, because if bitcoin transaction speed remains this slow, it will keep businesses from mass accepting those fancy bitcoin debit cards we all would love to use.  If we have to wait there for the confirmations to come through, that's no better than holding up a line by writing a check.

Also I hope that there will be another couple of coins that can be developed (or possible already have) that ensure a more secure transaction of currency than just bitcoins basic blockchain.  Since it is so easy to readily track where every coin has come from and where it will be going in the future, I feel like there is a need for a more anonymous type of coin.  I think cryptonotes will take the cake on this area since there is so much being done by making both the sender and the receiver both completely anonymous.
1236  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: ★☆★ MagicalDice.com - 0.1 BTC giveaway - Post what you like about MD to win! ★☆★ on: September 25, 2015, 09:49:12 PM
Magicaldice name: chennan

The best thing I like about magical dice?  I like the fact that the community seems to be very close and want to help out each other.  With people that aren't apart of the dev team like Unibtc on there that generously gives away a lot of the profits he makes on the site, that just makes me feel that people that play on the site just are generally on there for fun and don't care much about the profits that they make from there (even though it's a nice plus)

Things that MD could improve on:  I say that it would be really interesting if MD would incorporate another provably fair game on the site instead of just dice.  Magicaldice will always be known for the dice game, but I think the site could move further and give the community even more games on top of just dice.  There are multiple possibilities when it comes to provably fair gambling, but never knew if magical dice would be interested in doing that, just because it is know for just being "magical dice"

Anyways, thanks a lot for yet another give away and a really good campaign.  Stuff like this makes me keep coming back to magical dice to play from time to time, rather than just be a fellow sig campaigner for the site Grin
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: September 25, 2015, 09:17:00 PM
Best way to buy dope.

Ughh, lol... people like you have given bitcoin a bad name in the press, due to the association of bitcoin to sites like silkroad and any other darknet market site.

But, I think personally what I like most about bitcoin is the fact that bitcoin is literally like digital gold that can be sent anywhere in the world without a third party.  And when you actually think about it, it's even rarer than gold.  This is because gold could potentially be found anywhere in the universe, due to the fact that it is a basic element.  Bitcoin is mined on computers on a tiny little planet called earth... so all in all, basically there are fewer bitcoins than actual gold itself.
1238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Bitcoin billboard on: September 25, 2015, 09:10:48 PM

I agree with you here on this one.  If this is in the US then I don't think this would settle well, especially for people around where I live, because I live in the bible belt and people who have already heard of bitcoin down here think that it is a message of the incoming "rapture" that the bible foretold.  We have to ease people into this kind of thing and make them see the light of bitcoin in a sensible manner... not by having some cultish symbolism promoting bitcoin.
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Caelus; We will send a bitcoin satellite to space! (Join Us!) on: September 25, 2015, 09:02:09 PM

also! everyone who donates 5 Dollar+ will get their name launched to space with the Cubesat Smiley

Just five dollars to get your name launched into the orbit? Count me in!  But, I don't really see how that would be possible to write everyones name on the satellite... I would feel you would have probably 200+ names to write on a satellite that doesn't seem that big to begin with.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: September 25, 2015, 08:59:05 PM
What if I told you that you could earn 1 BTC per hour?

There are a lot of opportunities in Bitcoin for people with knowledge and skills.

Otherwise, instead of faucets you'll have more fun playing Chopcoin.io which awards 5000 Satoshi if you win. Games take 10 minutes. I'm not sure how that compares to hitting a bunch of faucets, but once you get good you can play it for high stakes. It's not quite gambling due to the amount of skill involved. I wrote a Chopcoin guide if you're interested.

It is not that hard to get more than 5000 in 10 minutes through faucets. But chopcoin may be worth it if you can get more than that.

That's what he was trying to say.  If you develop a skill of becoming very good at that game, then you will have a higher chance of making money by playing the game, since their is skill involved and plus your gambling amongst other players.  If you become really good though, you can't just stick to the free games on there to make any substantial amount; you have to spend money to make money.
