I'm curious how many people on here are accumulating some ixCoins. Whether by mining or purchasing them, how many are planning to hold say at least 10,000 ixCoins as speculation? That's hardly more than half of 1 Bitcoin. TIA
Like I said before I have 15K that I bought in 2011 and which I still keep, but only because I've accepted the fact that it was bad investment decision. I had a small window of opportunity back then to make a profit, but I slept through it, so until I see a good reason to sell them, I'm going to keep them  That's right, you're the guy who spent something like a few USD per ixCoin, right? I can't believe they were worth that much at one point. That's another way to value this coin - its past valuation compared to bitcoin. Of course, in the end it's all hypothetical since there's no intrinsic value. That makes buying any alt coin a very risky endeavor. But given I'm looking at and strongly believe in the (coming) big picture the risk doesn't appear nearly as significant to me. That said, I think you'll get your money back on ixCoin and maybe even make some. If ixCoin ever breaks even $1 per coin then I strongly believe it will go much much higher than that. But first there has to be a sign of real interest in the coin cause right now besides a few speculators like myself I see no widespread interest. I mean, besides you I don't know of anyone else having bought and planning to hold ixCoins. It would be so really super duper awesome to know what the founder is doing. I mean he came back and now disappeared again. He should come on here and say, hey, I've been accumulating and I hold way more coins than this vlad dude. Something like that would go a long way to boost the confidence of crypto investors. The BTC price was between 3 and 4 USD back then, but I can't really remember how much BTC I spent for these 15K IXC. I just vaguelly remember spending around 30BTC for 15K IXC and 15K i0C I mined with 1870MH/s between 01 July 2011 (difficulty was 1,563,028) and 19 October 2011 (difficulty was 1,468,218) with a peak difficulty of 1,888,787 in between, so I must have mined around 60BTC for a period of 105 days, which doesn't add up. Something is wrong with my calculations, because I had 70BTC left after spending some for IXC and i0C. Can't really remember.  But I personally don't believe that the exchange rate will go much higher and so don't expect to make a big profit, if I make any at all. |

So if I understand correct there will be 4 of these boards connected to a one board (the main PCB) inside the case and each of the smaller boards will have one ASIC chips on it, right? Then why are there 4 slots for chips per PCB? The chip pictured is only they as reference to overall size as it's a known component. Let me ask again: So if I understand correct there will be 4 of these boards connected to a one board (the main PCB) inside the case and each of the smaller boards will have one ASIC chips on it, right? Then why are there 4 slots for chips per PCB? no the asic chip will take up all 4 of those areas. So the single asic chip will have 4 areas with pins under, so it fits perfectly in these 4 places? I believe so. So can we establish how big the ASIC chip is from this image? Forgive me if that was answered already |

None, I am talking about the lack of communication of a business using this venue.
Why KNC should use this topic as a method of communication, when over 95% of its content is filled with posts from people, who have no interest in purchasing a miner? Do you think it is easy to follow a topic that grows 10 pages every day? What is so difficult in writing an email or calling them and getting answers direct?This is basic PR 101... If KnCminer had kept responding to all valid concerns, 95% of the topic content would never be filled with speculation, repetitive questions and fictional assertions. They would instigate a great level of confidence and trust among the forum participants. This would only attract more and more people interested to become customers. People would discuss directly with the providers of the information and all their doubts would be suppressed as much as possible. This is not rocket science and it works far better than answer every individual message sent by other channels. Think how much resources are necessary only to call them and get answer for simple questions. It is far better and easy to produce regular announcements and answer similar questions at once than keep answering endless telephone calls and countless e-mail messages. I agree with the answer your implied in your question. It is really annoying follow a topic being bloated by users like Bitcoinorama at every minute. I really understand why someone would feel exhausted reading this topic. I myself sometimes get completely lost trying to figure out if I missed any news from KnCminer. Keep in mind they ship from China.
They ship from China directly to their customers or they ship it to themselves and then ship it again to their customers? It makes a big difference in terms of customs clearance and paying VAT, import duty and other fees. |

I am not saying you should buy this or it is a good deal. For the record you probably shouldn't and I don't think this is a good deal.
Regardless it doesn't make your projection of difficulty breaking 700 million in January and 1.1 trillion by the end of 2014 any less dubious. At some point growth will move from exponential to linear (i.e. + x GH/s per month ).

Box dimensions are on their website. Are you aware that this is a forum and I was replying to a post in this forum? Did I miss some page where perhaps KnCminer user post the dimensions of the case? By the way, glad to see you agree that is a box of fans. However, even if I use the information in their website, I still do not have what really matters. 500 x 400 x 200 means anything to you when the advertisement says "Modular Design allowing for expansion at a later date"? What are the external dimensions? What are the internal dimensions? What are the modules dimensions? What metric they are using? The missing "mm" after three digits tells very much how much they are interested to sell a box of fans.  You ask here = you get no answers I call them on the phone = I get answers To me you are just a guy, who has no interest in purchasing a miner from KNC, so you can post all you want If you are serious about it, you will find your answers, just don't expect other people to help you, as in this game everyone is on their own  |

Time to market is the most critical thing for us. We have a small window of opportunity here with a lot of competition coming out after us with products they claim are better than ours. (well after all they wouldn’t be very good competition if they claimed it would be worse.) You do not have a finished product. What you have is just a metal case and some fans. That means, a box of fans. Your lack of communication about your product is so blatant, that you did not even provided the dimensions of your box of fans to prove that will indeed fit in a rack. You are a pedantic bunch. I changed the post to say fans. My question about whether modifying the miner invalidates the guarantee still stands to be answered.
Does this really need to be asked? Just stop. Yes it does. If the heatsink on a hosted miner fails, I guess knc will replace it. If the heatsink on a miner owned by a guy in the US fails, does he replace it himself and invalidate his guarantee? Which means if the miner entirely stops working 2 days later, he has a piece of garbage on his hands. So that guy might also like to know how long it takes to be repaired if he has to send it back to Sweden, how long that round trip might take, so he can maintain his guarantee intact. How is that not a very valid question for many customers? You sound like a person who have no clue how a heatsink works. Please explain how a heatsink fails exactly and what would be the consequences according to you. |

Sam, can you also clarify two other points?
1. Cyper said he rang you today with regards components (heatsinks etc) used in the miner and you said he could swop them out for any other parts he wished to use. Surely this invalidates your guarantee? If it doesn't, please clarify. Are there any situations where it wouldn't? It leaves people who are not hosted by knc at a bit of a disadvantage.

Just got off the phone with Sam - it is a pleasure to talk to him and gives answers to all questions, so if you have any questions I suggest you call him I asked him if you could install a water cooling kit and he said that these ASIC chips are bigger in size, thus the market solutions, which are for CPU cooling would probably not work. Which made me wonder how they've used the Arctic A30 cooler, when it is for CPU die sizes too. But he said there is absolutely no problem to change the fans if you want less noise or higher performance. Also I wasn't sure how noisy the miners are, thinking they will produce more noise, compared to a GPU miner, but I was totally wrong - he said it would be much quieter and it makes sense as GPU fans are much smaller and spin much faster (4000rpms for example) So the bigger the fan the quieter it is |
