1241  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is KNC miner a scam??? on: October 20, 2013, 06:27:13 PM
it is ironic, at the time of this post, KNC was jstu announced and not much information was disclosed about it, My group buy was iniated at a later stage,  however infact it was the case that i wanted to double/triple check on opinion before engaging in a group buy in the best interest of the shareholders

And now you do realize that is just much more profitable to sell the miners than to mine with them, right?

1242  Economy / Auctions / Re: KnC Jupiter 525GH/s stable, IN HAND - IMMEDIATE DELIVERY (fast auction) on: October 20, 2013, 09:18:13 AM
After some confusing PM's:

THE JUPITER IS ON SALE - THE AUCTION IS BINDING

"test auction to discover market price" in the original post just means that after this auction I might offer more Jupiters at this auction's final price - hope it's clear now.

Starting bid: 40 BTC
1243  Economy / Auctions / Re: KnC Jupiter 525GH/s stable, IN HAND - IMMEDIATE DELIVERY (fast auction) on: October 20, 2013, 08:35:36 AM

This is a test auction to discover market price; more Jupiters might be available in the future or at buyers request.
[/b]

Test Huh Whats the point, If it's not binding people can "test" bid what they like, This is not going to give you an average market price.

The auction is binding. With "test" I mean that I might decide to make an auction for multiple Jupiters later on, but this on is fully valid.

15 btc plus 2 btc more for shipping

Minimum bid is 40 BTC as stated in the OP.

1246  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 19, 2013, 11:07:44 PM
Hey guys, sturtle already explained you that there is no stampede/bank run, MtGox made shiiiiiitloads of money and can cover any hole, the problem is just that they are so successful and their volume is so freaking high that they are overwhelming both the traditional financial system and the Bitcoin network, that's all

Cheesy
1247  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: October 18, 2013, 04:51:36 PM
Same here toke.  I have never even mentioned refund.  I have hope that everything works out with CH but the fact is he has set dates and missed them and since his promise date the diff has nearly doubled so I feel I'm allowed to be a little annoyed by the situation.  I think CH will make it up to us though but time will tell.

true. but the thing is i have been holding july contracts i bought on may. so i am kinda used to all these delays and dont allow it to affect me much. tho, i message ch from time to time just to make them realize this shouldnt be happening. but i trust them. they work hard to get things done, tho the results remain to be seen and i think they need to handle communicating with their customers better. but judging them now negatively is unfair for them. give them a little more time.

actually Dickweed aka tokeweed have you ever heard of a calculator ? im guessing not as you would see your investement isnt worth shit , yet you continue to support the CH way of doing bussiness , serious Tokeweed your a fucking cunt fuck off and crawl back under your sad rock. people like you in real life would get sparked clean out pussy.

i am holding infinite contracts.  so yes, i am pretty sure i'll get my money back plus more.

LOL at infinite contracts, quoted for posterity.
1248  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 18, 2013, 04:26:54 PM
i tried to withdraw 8 btc from mtgox this morning and now 8 hours later the transaction still hasnt being processed.

is anyone else having this issue recently? bitcoin withdraw was always near instant for me usually only takes 30 mins or so.  I submitted a ticket to mtgox also

I being waiting 3 days for BTC withdraw

That's abnormally long...

No, it's just the traditional banking system which is unable to keep up with the thriving BTC economy... Oh, wait...

Maybe is just that Gox's huge volume is overwhelming their BTC wallet...
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 01:38:22 PM

If you were a day 1 or day 2 customer, then you made a nice profit by now. Sucks for the rest of the customers who wont make ROI.

Keep dreaming. I've received my units on October 3rd, which was the day in which the very first Jupiters were delivered, and I mined back 24% of the cost of the units in BTC (remember that at the beginning of June when orders were paid BTC was at $100). In FIAT, I made slightly less than 35% including not only the miner but related expenses (PSU, UPS, etc.). If we do not include those "external" expenses, up to now I made back 38% of the pure cost of the unit in FIAT - that may sound good to some, but on the contrary is quite worrying considering that my units mined aprox. 1.8BTC per day and now they mine just a bit over 0.9BTC per day. If that trend continues for 3-4 difficulty jumps negative ROI is guaranteed, especially for those living in regions were electricity costs are higher than $0.1kw/h

Those who thought that mining was going to be wildly profitable were just ignorant fools. Mining has NEVER BEEN wildly profitable, just *marginally* profitable at best, and in fact historically BUYING BTC has always been a superior investment compared to MINING BTC. Of course there are a very few and notable exceptions, like Avalon Batch #1 units - but those are just that, very few and notable exceptions.

That said: all the above is not KnC's fault. They did a good product in a record time, its just that nobody can accurately predict difficulty with a 3 months advance.

1251  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 13, 2013, 05:41:24 PM
...You guys are a dime a dozen.. and like the rest of you, pretty sure you will fall silent once products begin delivery. I've seen it once (early avalon), I've seen it twice (knc), let us make it thrice (hf) Smiley

Investing in ASICs has proven to be substantially less profitable than investing in scratch cards at your local bodega.  Sure, there are a few winners, but overall?  Fail & AIDS.

I've seen it once (BFL)
I've seen it twice (Avalon)
I've seen it thrice (Terrahash)
I've seen it four times (Labcoin)
I've seen it five times (AsicMiner)
[...NO EXCEPTIONS...]
And now there's wailing and gnashing of teeth in the KNC thread even as the *day one* buyers, the ones who paid in early July June, are realizing they won't break even Sad
Jaw-dropping history of of failure, but hope's the last thing to die. Buy buy buy.

And the more people buy, the deeper in red everybody will be.

Rampion dev boxes are being sent out. I agreed to do that, so rest assured their packaging will be completed by yours truly Wink

Seriously? More boxes on my way?

That'd be great, but I don't think so Wink
1253  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with Live Trading USD, EUR, BTC, LTC on: October 10, 2013, 09:17:09 AM
Did some trading yesterday on Kraken. Need to say that I sold 5btc preaty quick at price 94€ - at the same time price on bitstamp was around 125$. I think i could get even more, but ok... I wanted to test them. Now I'm waiting for my SEPA withdraw which I did yesterday at 6pm. I hope I will see my founds on account tomorow in the morning.
Can say that I wil do some more traiding there if the SEPA withdraws will be within 2 days. And I really like low fees!!

You guys really need to something about volume. As someone said... put some of your money in the trading Wink

Yep, the problem here is if you want to sell +100BTC. IMO the best thing to do now is to wire a few hundred $$$, place very low limit orders, and see if a distracted trader pushes "market sell" with a big enough stash to have those extra low limit orders filled.

It won't be the first time it happened in a super-low volume exchange... Cheesy

Nevertheless, the Kraken platform is THE REAL DEAL, finally we have something serious in the BTC ecosystem, and I'm really pleased to see that they are trying to comply with regulation in ALL the territories they are trying to serve, that's a huge step forward.

Good job Kraken team, full support and godspeed!

I'd love if O'rama could inform us about KnC's position regarding ckolivas working on cgminer implementation, and about ETA for source code release.

1256  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: October 10, 2013, 07:09:36 AM
Cloudhasher: if you sell contracts for a certain date, you start paying from that date regardless of having received all the hardware or not. Otherwise, what's your risk in this venture? Don't you realize people buy your contracts precisely to offload the delivery/management risk of the hardware? Your premium is justified only if you absorb those risks.
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 10, 2013, 06:35:32 AM
well according to this calculator http://www.bitreturn.com/ I have approx. 825gh from KNC..1 Jupiter and 1 Saturn.....anyway the calculator I list here if I don't get all my stuff before Oct 31st or 15 days late.....I will not make ROI. So I hope this calc is wrong....

Searing

You will "make" ROI for sure, but probably negative.
1258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 11:42:36 PM
Hmm - there seems to be a major security flaw in KnC's setup ... I wonder if they'll ask me to consult on fixing it ... ...

You got worried customers here...
1259  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 09, 2013, 11:00:07 PM
Miner protection is BS. The more GH/s hashfast distributes, the more difficult will be to have positive ROI.

After this nonsense it's very hard to discuss anything. So miner protection is bad because it gives more GHs to HashFast customers?!?!?

This thread is becoming a troll-fest really fast. It would be nice to have KnC shills back to KnC-still-no-tracking-number-whining thread.
It is very much a self defeating type of compensation.

Exactly. The only valid "miner protection" is to immediately deliver a limited batch of hardware which is superior to everything else on the market at that moment. But... Wait. That would mean an almost guaranteed profit, as you would b/e quickly..... So.... I guess that any company able to do that would just mine with the hardware. The free loan, "all the risk on customer's shoulder" model makes a lot of sense from an enterpreneurial point of view.
1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 10:55:02 PM

I can confirm is a stale party indeed, flushwork seems not very good. Got a huge rate of stales.

I think the flushwork is some weird cron job.  Both my Jupiters showed the flushwork line at the same exact time

I do not think it is doing it intelligently

They seem not to be handling well the flush work at pools request, they are sending a lot of bad work and hence the stales and the lower hashrate especially on the pool
