Rajasthan Royals has to pick wickets to put pressure back to Mumbai Indians as they need 55 runs in 38 balls and with wickets in hand they can easily reach the target.
Archer's injury turning out to be a big blow for the Rajasthan. Their bowling still look okay here n there due to individual performances but they are missing Archer big time. Safe to say that no playoffs entry for the Royals.

Agreed. Apart from Archer's absence, Samson's poor captaincy is also having a negative impact on the fortunes of Rajasthan Royals. Their pace bowlers (Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris) had one or two good individual performances, but they failed to perform as a team. And on the spin department, Rahul Tewatia has been off color so far. However as far as batting is concerned, they are doing pretty well.

@Juggy777, if they think that they can ban Bitcoin, then let them try that. It will be one of their historical blunders.

Back to the match, Mumbai Indians need 172 to win against the Rajasthan Royals. And this time they are short of one specialist batsmen (Nathan Coulter-Nile included in the place of Ishan Kishan). BTW, can anyone tell me what the two Pandyas are doing in the Mumbai Indians squad (Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya)? So far in this IPL, Hardik has scored 36 runs at an average of 7.20, while Krunal has picked 3 wickets after conceding 128 runs.
1263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 29, 2021, 10:56:50 AM
Looks like Mumbai Indians will be having another loss today, against the Rajasthan Royals. RR at 97/2 after 11 overs, with Sanju Samson at crease. Ishan Kishan was dropped and MI added an extra bowler in his place (Nathan Coulter-Nile). It is going to be demoralizing for Kishan. He was one of their star performers during the 2020 season and now he can't even find a slot for himself in the playing XI. As expected, RR went with an unchanged playing XI.

I cannot understand such a country with such a high GDP income and such poor awareness, I also understand the gap between rich and poor in this country is too large. Admittedly, the awareness of the people of this country is very poor about the way to fight the epidemic, I don't know who this mistake should be blamed on, but maybe we can't help it any more now than hoping for them will soon pass this wave.

A few people were arrested yesterday for spreading rumors over Twitter. But when there is an organized campaign to create panic through social media platforms, there is hardly anything the cops can do about it. Some people are saying that it is the black marketeers who are behind these rumors, while some others claim that it is the work of opposition party politicians. Anyway, hundreds of people have lost their lives due to these baseless rumors.

Did anyone came across the news of Brett Lee donates bitcoin to Crypto Relief for India’s fight against COVID-19. More Australian Players have been supporting India get out of the worst situation. Now Bret Lee doing it in the form of bitcoin gives some exposure to cryptocurrency. Everyone have invested on cryptocurrency, whereas a little is known to the outer world.

Brett Lee did the right thing by donating in the form of cryptocurrency. There are powerful people in the government and bureaucracy, who want to ban cryptocurrency for their own selfish motives. With this transaction Brett Lee proved that cryptocurrency can be used for the benefit of those who are in need. In the social media, the news about the donation has gone viral and it will help the Bitcoin cause in India. And being an Indian, I am really thankful to both Brett Lee and Pat Cummins, for helping us in such an adverse situation.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election | Biden+Harris Vs ?? ?? on: April 29, 2021, 06:25:09 AM
It is too early to talk about this topic. Biden just won last year and he is not even 1 year when he became the president. If covid will end in Biden's term and he did enough for his country then he has high chances to win again the next election. If he hasn't done anything and pass some useless laws that just make Americans suffer then people would probably not vote for him for the next presidential election. There is much more to happen especially on bitcoin so focusing on that issue is useless for me now.

2024 elections are still three and half years away and there are practical difficulties in placing a bet for this election. First of all, how can we trust a gambling site to keep our money in escrow for such a long duration? I have seen sportsbooks going down after one or two years of operation. And secondly, if we keep the coins in their wallet, what is the guarantee that they won't be lost due to some hacking or online robbery? It may look attractive to bet on this election right now. But for me, the risk is too large. I would have considered, if some reputed site such as Bet365 come up with an option to place bets with cryptocurrency. At this point, it is too risky to trust the crypto sportsbooks.

CSK back in form, I just checked the point table and saw them leading it. This was the team that struggled in the last IPL. RCB is another team that has been performing very well. I am surprised to MI struggling in this IPL. I hope they start performing soon, today they will be playing with RR.

CSK and RCB have surprised me with their performance so far. On the other hand, two of the franchises that played in the final of last year's tournament (Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals) seems to be performing very poorly. For DC, some of their best players are not available and it is understandable. But I am still perplexed with Mumbai Indians. All of their top players are available and still they are losing matches. Hardik Pandya is injured, but he's still playing as a specialist batsman. With such a star studded lineup, they are yet to perform according to the expectations.
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 29, 2021, 05:26:00 AM
I think more importantly the approach of CSK has been entirely different this season. Last season they were looking like an old and nonenergetic team who isn't here to fight. Most of the players looked old and they were really unable to adjust to conditions. This time I think the team has a lot of energy which is the most important thing. There bowling which was the weak part even last year is somewhat doing okay this time. In a few matches, you see Chahar bowling good overs and in others, you see Thakur bowling good overs and Sam Curran is the trump card which they hold. Their spin department on other hand looks pretty good with Jadeja and Tahir. On paper team still looks old and orhtodox but somehow they are just hitting the right combination in each match.

At least half of the last year's squad for CSK was close to 40 years of age. This time they got rid of some of the players, such as Kedar Jadhav and Harbhajan Singh, and at the same time made slots available for some of the younger players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad. Although no one wants to admit, age plays a role in T20 cricket. You can't really expect a 40-year old batsmen to make a half century from 20 balls.

I was checking the score in superbru today knowing that I am going to bottom again but to my surprise I am actually leading in this round LOL. In the last round I was 2nd. It's the round which was a nightmare for me or I could challenge you all who are at the top 🤣

This time there are no rewards for round winners, but I am happy for your lead.
1269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 06:31:03 PM
CSK back to the top of the table again with far better run rate who is also having the same 10 points now. This is the vintage CSK team and I watched the entire match which is completely amazed me. Warner the struggling man needs to think about finding the right combination inside their team because only 4 overseas players are performing for SRH and all the others were on the losing cause especially their middle order is very weak. Saha is on the bench for them who can be included in the middle order for better stability who player really some great innings for veruous franchise.

Wriddhiman Saha is not a specialist batsman. Since Jonny Bairstow is a better batsman, he fills that slot. You are right regarding the overseas players of SRH. All of them are in great form. But the issue is with the local players, especially the bowlers. None of the bowlers are able to provide any support for Rashid Khan. That's why the team management is trying different combinations. But right now, none of these bowling combinations are working for them.
1270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 06:16:29 PM
CSK was able to win today's match very easily. But I doubt if Chennai's two openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis lose form then what will be Chennai's overall performance. Chennai lost the first match of the season, and the two openers scored just five runs in that match. Du Plessis and Gaikwad have done well in all the other matches.

That was CSK's major issue during last season. They had Kedar Jadhav in the middle order and he used to waste a lot of balls. But this time they have Suresh Raina at that position and he seems to be in very good form. Right now Raina-Jadeja-Dhoni in the middle order looks quite strong. And then they have Sam Curran for power hitting in the final overs. And the addition of Moeen Ali has further strengthened the side. Even the bench strength looks impressive, with Robin Uthappa and Dwayne Bravo unable to find a slot in the playing XI.
1271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 05:56:21 PM
CSK now again cruising towards their win to be honest, SRH didn't even took a single wicket while CSK just needs 72 from 54 balls.

Chennai Super Kings are now at second position in the points table, which is an amazing turnaround when compared to their situation during IPL 2020. Now they have 8 points from 5 matches. The Delhi Capitals also have 8 points, but they have played one additional match. For CSK, the next match is going to be against the Mumbai Indians. It is going to be a tough match, but given their momentum, they should be able to perform well. SRH remains at the bottom of the table with just two points. Apart from Rashid Khan, their bowlers have failed. And Natarajan's absence is not helping things either.
1272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 28, 2021, 05:27:06 PM
I don't get it..

What are they trying to do? Afg, Ire and Zim already avoid playing much test cricket due to financial problems. How are they going to include Associate members in this scheme?

Intercontinental Cup was there till 2017, when the ICC stopped it due to cash crunch. It is just the same tournament with a different name. I don't know much about funding, but the ICC now want associate nations to bear the cost of this tournament. That would simply mean that cash-rich boards such as the UAE, Hong Kong and Oman will readily take part, while the boards which are facing financial issues (such as Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Nepal.etc) would skip their participation.
1273  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla Bought 1.5 B in Bitcoins on: April 28, 2021, 04:51:16 PM
I don't think it had anything to do with "testing liquidity." Tesla saw an opportunity to lock in some gains and take some of the risk they have by holding bitcoin off the table. The company is risky enough as it is without adding speculative risk on top of that. With the new Gigafactories they're building and the fact that their batteries are still lacking the major breakthrough that's been promised, Tesla has a lot of capital requirements which will require cash.

From what I have heard, they have a lot of cash in their reserves. So I don't think that they need to sell their coins to fund the gigafactories. When Tesla purchased Bitcoins worth $1.5 billion in January 2021, they claimed that the amount represented a small fraction of their reserves. So if we believe them, they are definitely not short of cash. Also, they were not that desperate to sell their coins before the 12-month period and thereby attract regular income tax on whatever gains they received.

^^^^ So any idea when this chip shortage issue will be resolved? I have seen a few posts in social media, which claims that the shortfall in supply is going to persist for a few more months. Also, I have seen a statement from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (world's largest producer of chips?), which claims that they have stepped up their production. However, supply chain issues remain for the chip manufacturers in Taiwan.
1275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 04:11:55 PM
Which team did you pick today? I selected the CSK team for today's match. SRH has given a target of 172 runs. Good enough collection. SRH scored 135 runs in 18 overs. They have scored 36 runs in the last 12 balls. Williamson made 26 off 10 balls and Jadabh made 12 off 4 balls. CSK's batting lineup is good enough. I'm expecting big innings from Du Plessis.

For today's match I went with CSK, because they are like a team reborn (at least when compared to their performance during last season). But SRH is in a really good situation and they scored a lot of runs during the last 3-4 overs (especially the 19th over from Shardul Thakur, which went for 20 runs). So it looks like SRH may win today's match, unless some of the CSK batsmen deliver exceptional performances. CSK has started really well, and I have to say that both Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad are looking very confident.
1276  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What does the indian government do about the coronavirus in india right now? on: April 28, 2021, 01:49:17 PM
I agree with the post from BADecker. The situation here is not looking good. But at the same time, for the initial 13 months the government managed the situation relatively well when compared to the other countries. Even with the latest spike, the death rate in India due to Covid is less than one-tenth of that reported from countries such as Brazil and the United States. The left-wing politicians and the media channels on their payroll (such as NDTV and Aaj Tak) have gone on a propaganda campaign to blame the central government. Despite all the difficulties, I would still say that the government is handling the situation quite well. On the other hand, some of the state governments (Delhi, Maharashtra.etc) have failed completely in this task.
1277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 01:22:40 PM

Dude, what do you really expect? 12 runs was needed from the last three balls and one of the best RCB bowlers was bowling. Do you really think that it is that easy to score 12 from 3?

It will not be wrong if I say 14 from 6 balls, will it be  Cheesy I was referring to that. See, Pant first ball in the last over was a full toss which he managed get a single only and the 4 from the 5th ball, was an accident from Pant. In my opinion, Pant ruined the party for Delhi.

Well.. I understand the frustration. But I was point out the fact that it will be wrong to put all the blame on Pant, when the Delhi top order failed miserably. Delhi got to a decent total only because of Pant. It will be wrong to say that Pant couldn't get 14 from the last over, when the DC batsmen could only score 158 runs from the previous 19 overs. For me, it was a 50/50 scenario, and this time luck was not with Pant. He has been performing quite consistently since the start of the tournament, so I don't want everyone to blame him.
1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Musk doesn't tweet Dogecoin, can it still soar? on: April 28, 2021, 01:03:45 PM
For me if Elon Musk didn't tweet about it people would just ignore it.
I think it gotten that high because of his followers not just in crypto but also his non-cryptocurrency followers bought it.
He got a massive amount of followers not just on crypto currency so maybe those non crypto people also bought Doge because of his words.

When did Musk tweeted about Dogecoin? If I am not wrong, it happened a few months back. However the rally in Dogecoin exchange rates started much before that. But there is no doubt that whenever Elon mentions about this shitcoin, it goes crazy. One reason is that the liquidity is very low when compared to the other shitcoins, and therefore it is relatively easy to manipulate this coin. For my part, I am not very comfortable in watching Dogecoin replacing a technologically sound cryptocurrency such as Cardano from the no.6 spot. It may be a temporary phenomenon, but this shitcoin is doing a lot of damage to the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem.
1279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 12:32:40 PM
True. Can't blame Pant since he scored valuable runs when they looked like they were collapsing completely.
Pant was a set batsman and he must have hit a six in the last over, he got three poor balls in the last over. 1st ball of the last over was a full toss, so does the last two. Sadly, he acted like he was a noob and new batsman in the pitch. The result could have been different.

Dude, what do you really expect? 12 runs was needed from the last three balls and one of the best RCB bowlers was bowling. Do you really think that it is that easy to score 12 from 3? To Pant's credit, he still managed to score 10 runs. In such pressure situations, you need luck on your side as well. Unfortunately during yesterday's game, luck was not with the Delhi Capitals. At this point, let's not forget the fact that they are playing without two of their main players (Nortje and Iyer).
1280  Other / Politics & Society / Re: India covid19 crisis on: April 28, 2021, 12:21:48 PM
The Chinese government is offering help to India for vaccines and control the spread but the Indian government as of now hasn't replied to it yet. They should just be accepting the help of China, India is much close to China and can immediately send help to them.

India must not rely on the US and EU for help. Their media didn't report the offer of China to India. The politics in this country is getting worse that even the media is corrupted.

WTF? We don't want any useless Chinese vaccines. We have already seen the low efficacy of the Chinese vaccines in those countries where it was used (Hungary, Serbia, Chile.etc). Rather than decreasing the spread of COVID 19, these vaccines seems to be increasing its incidence. Hungary and Serbia have one of the highest mortality rates from COVID 19 in Europe despite vaccinating almost half of their population with the Sinovac vaccine.

India is quite capable of making the vaccines on its own, and so far we have manufactured more than 200 million doses. What we need is an unrestricted supply of raw materials. Joe Biden regime recently lifted the embargo on the export of raw materials, and therefore scaling up production should not be a problem.
