1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin purchase using proceeds of a sold asset on: November 26, 2023, 04:24:14 AM
It worked out for cz, it could have not too.

He, however stated his concerns, that his property has his parents inhabiting it and that they would not agree for him to dispose it and also he considers it the only chance he has at investing in Bitcoin since he was just venturing into that space newly.

I would never advise anyone selling something as property for Bitcoin, aside from obvious fluctuations, he could lose his investment from hacks/scams, is he in position to be fine if this doesn't work out?
1302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 26, 2023, 03:08:06 AM
Australia is stronger than India. The real cricket is test match, then it is ODI and last it is T20. India being the host nation had the advantage and able to win all the matches. If these matches were played away from home, surely India could've suffered. Few players it is exceptional, in all conditions they'll contribute and does things in a responsible way. Remaining we can't believe whereas with Australia scenario is different. Till the last order we can expect the player to give the confident performance which lacks with Indian players. Just to stand wicket Indian players keeps eating balls whereas the Australian batsmen doesn't do it.

There could be home advantage but Indian audience is such that they also pressurize players to perform good and in return players just choke. Regarding the last statement, I still keep saying, it was Rahul's inning that helped make India 240 otherwise they would have been all-out long before 50 overs.

Australia was close to losing against team like Afghanistan, Yes Maxwell eventually destroyed them, but it's because Afghans dropped easy catch of him. Australia's win makes you overlook their faults.

Luck plays huge part in winning any game, imagine if Travis Head dropped Rohit, he would have destroyed them and whole scenario could have been completely different.
1303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC20 or BEP20? on: November 26, 2023, 02:54:56 AM
The transaction fees of BEP-20 and TRC-20 are almost same, there is not much difference, but what I have noticed that transactions on TRC-20 are processed comparatively faster. However, I am attaching below a link of website that  shows the real-time gas fees for USDT transfer to various networks, such as Etherem (ERC-20), BSC (BEP-20), Tron (TRC-20) and Polygon.

https://gasfeesnow.com/?ref=pixeljets.com

If you select aggressive fees while making transaction on bsc, you will get your transaction confirmed instaneously while paying extra fees of few cents.

I checked site you linked, and fees shown are $1-$2 usd for trc20, and bsc is at 3 cents [1], this could be different yesterday but unless I see it with my own eyes, I refuse tron could have been this cheap.

1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 26, 2023, 02:42:52 AM
tomorrow there is second T20I between India and Australia. India is one up in the series and has also won its last 5 T20Is. I think ICC must have given some pause to cricket after such a lengthy ODI world cup. I dont know how many around the world are watching this series just after 4 days of ODI world cup final.

Stadium was full in last t20, I didn't expect that. Pretty sure it's same in watching on TV/Streaming services. Regarding giving break most who played world cup are given rest.

I hope Jitesh Sharma will be given chance to play today, I liked his finishing touches in IPL, no need to keep Ishan Kishan out as he played good inning in last game and is also a good fielder even when not wicket keeping. Make Jitesh WK, Ishan Kishan as fielder, so who should go out? I dunno.
1305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC20 or BEP20? on: November 25, 2023, 04:37:44 PM
I just recently used tron, and it's stupid. Afaik, I paid $4 for usdt transfer, bep20 is far better.

BEP20 should be cheaper, but TRC20 is more widely used. I'd go with the latter if the plan is to hold this for the long term, there's is no point in holding something that's only supported by one centralized exchange, and a couple of DEXes.

C'mon, not couple dexes. I'm sure each and every bsc dex supports it. TRC20 is widely used only on cexes, because they can stake several thousands tron for free resources and avail free transfers. So pocketing money from users by taking withdrawal fees and at the same time being relatively cheap for user. Both party wins.

Other than that trc20 is expensive to sell on tron dexes and transfer too for normal users.
1306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: November 25, 2023, 04:24:45 PM
I'm of the opinion that taking profit is always the wise decision. Paper profits are not real, it took me years to realize until my huge gains went down the drain for not taking profit.
1307  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's Impact on South Asian Economies. on: November 25, 2023, 04:20:42 PM
My friend once talked about his friend who got into Bitcoin very early and suggested him to buy it as well, he didn't heed him then, but the guy is now rich. So I'd say, it has certainly changed people's lives.

Bitcoin is also reason for plenty others alts existence, opportunities still keep coming to change one's fortune, I understand there are scams and ripoffs, which ofc one needs to be careful about. It has also paved the way for new earning sources, you could put spare hours and rise up the ladder without using your income.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 25, 2023, 11:43:14 AM
But i must say, Surya played so well after long and finally able to score a good run 80 which is pretty big. As he was a captain, he just adjust everything according to him and thats the reason for his brilliant come back.

I sorta agree here, he tends to do well if he bats up in the order, in wc finale he was sent after Jadeja (1 down from his usual position odi) and he literally got bowler partners to play with. But oh well, it's all done and dusted.
1309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Layer 2 Blast and airdrop! on: November 25, 2023, 05:31:23 AM
Appears they are staking eth received on lido, and thus giving rewards to the depositors. Also, their referral structure is seen in pyramid schemes. I feel there is nothing new, but good if they airdrop, it gonna have good value because of the hype, money out of thin air for everyone.

Add Josh Inglis to the list too as he played in the semis and the finals.

India is considered a bilateral bully, be it home or away. No matter what they always manage to win most of their bilateral trophy but uff....... well not going down that road as it's becoming repetitive now.

On a funny note, IMO ICC should rename the ICC event into something like Paytm, Tata or Vivo trophy tournament and then see how Indians bring their A game lol.  Grin Grin

I think Indians have attached unnecessary emotions with this game of cricket. In the end its just a game. Hardly there is anyone on Airport to receive Aussie squad. Nobody cares about cricket anymore except South Asian counties. I too feel frustrated when I see no other sport in the country has been given any importance.
Indian and Australian both were good in this tournament. Indians were just not as good as Aussies were on the final day.

This tbh. I saw news people doing worship to gods and other such weird stuff so India may lift the wc, but meanwhile Pat Cummins who was seen yawning in Aussie dressing room, won the WC.

Also, India media reached Surya's home to interview their parents. I am sure no other country does that.

I don't ask Indians to support other sport, if you don't have interest, you can't force it. But India needs to stop with this nonsense.
1312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Retrospective airdrop experiences on: November 25, 2023, 12:13:28 AM
A bad one will not get any attention at all if it is being realistic so they tell lies, but I honestly hoped that it would be like that, obviously everyone would jump into the good ones, but if bad ones were real, at least people would check them out too and they could still find plenty of people who will want even tiny amounts. Instead, we have bunch of airdrops where people all claim the biggest and greatest. Like check the bounty page on this forum, it says stuff like 250K DOLLARS WORTH AIRDROP, and you check and they consider their shitcoin 1 dollar whereas it won't be even 1 cent, so what they claim to be paying is 250k and yet they do not pay even few dollars.

In my experience, any project that beforehand tells you without their token being on market, that they are going to give such amount of $ value to users, is going to fail, it's never going to worth as what they promise.

And it's not a new thing, bounty projects back in 2016/17 used to do same to get attention of bounty hunters, now the same net is spread for airdrop hunters.
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cosmos projects airdrops speculation on: November 25, 2023, 12:04:44 AM
I don't, but if there is going to be airdrop for cosmos/ibc ecosystem, atom stakers and osmosis stakers are sure to be included in it, so you could stake some in both and also lp on osmosis in popular pools such as osmo/atom. That should give you good chances.

I also use this sources to keep track of cosmos airdrops:

1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether publishes transaparency report daily, why is it suspicious stablecoin? on: November 25, 2023, 12:02:36 AM
The most dangerous thing and concern is that they might freeze any address with the funds if they want. So that's why they are marked as controversial and suspicious stable coins.

This is something that's same to all centralized stable coins, including usdc but usdc is considered safer compared to usdt.

From the Wikipedia you linked and other responses here I conclude that Tether is not transparent, and their transparency report means nothing unless done by a reputable third party.

1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: November 24, 2023, 12:12:51 PM
As long as your funds aren't coming from shady sources, I would call you a normal user  Tongue

Yea, it's similar to traditional banking but there are some pros here like you can exchange easily to or from usdt/usdc without kyc (on instant exchanges/dexes — if cexes require kyc), and also no worry even if you convert huge amounts unlike in banks where if it were $10k you'd be asked whereabouts it came, why are you withdrawing, etc
Indeed. Tether has only been blacklisting address belonging to criminals. I haven't seen or heard of a case where an average person gets his/her USDT funds frozen for an unknown reason. I know PayPal will do it with his stablecoin (PYUSD), especially when the company uses to freeze or restrict customers' PayPal accounts at will. Stablecoins like USDT and USDC are a much safer bet. If you want to avoid KYC, buy/sell USDT through a DEX. As simple as that.

I wouldn't be surprised if someday the US government requires stablecoin issuers to comply with KYC at the protocol level. That would mean altering the smart contract code that would require users to verify their ID before getting access to it. If this happens, then Tether and other centralized stablecoins will lose ground big time. I'd prefer a decentralized stablecoin anytime because of the benefits it provides. If only DAI had bigger liquidity and an ecosystem as large as USDT's, the majority would've moved to it already. At least we have a choice. Who knows how long will Tether last? Grin

Pretty sure if something like kyc happens to USDT, most exchanges are gonna move to DAI, I have also lots of faith in it because they have done their home work well [1].

Assuming the worst case scenario and already having preparation for it? I'm sold.

1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would someone want to buy an old empty ethereum address? on: November 24, 2023, 11:54:33 AM
The answer to your question is more than obvious, since the new wallet cannot claim retro airdrop, buyers are trying in this way to eligebet for airdrop in the future. And it is transactions on the Ethereum network, as a rule, that will act as one of the conditions for receiving airdrop, since sibyls avoid interactions on this network due to high commissions.

I also think it's so somewhere along the lines, but don't think it has to do with high fees of ethereum or that sybils don't have resources to make transactions, rather I feel that projects who gonna do retro airdrop will outright disqualify wallets which are new for reason that it might have been created for farming airdrop, so sybils are trying to avoid that and are looking for older wallets.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Web3 Platforms Connecting Users with Opportunities on: November 24, 2023, 11:34:55 AM
What you just have to do is to keep looking for those platforms based on what you're thinking about incentives that gives to their users by holding a certain crypto. It's a common thing for many platforms and all you have to do is to keep looking on them and basically, the more quantity you hold for that specific token or crypto, the more rewards you'll get.

Afaik, only $tia sorta falls under that category because it rewarded to osmo/atom stakers (but it had only minimum criteria of staking $75 worth, you didn't get more if you staked more), otherwise most reward for being active users of certain chains, it could be their own in testnet phase or may take evm chains activity in consideration.
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tron could be next doge or ada? on: November 24, 2023, 11:14:19 AM
I have never used ada but have used doge and I'd rate it better than tron, doge is cheaper to send and it doesn't require anything staked to make cheaper/feeless transactions.
1319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin network fees are not high is you who can't afford it. on: November 24, 2023, 10:26:32 AM
Just because one can afford it does not make this fees alright. It's different feeling when you pay $2 for a transaction and when $15, you know you are paying more, and it's not normal.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 24, 2023, 09:47:58 AM
Very entertaining first t20. Rinku Singh is emerging out as a finisher that Indian team needs, also India still needs to rectify this where 6th wicket goes and pure bowlers starts coming in.
The first T20 match was really fun for the Indian fans as Australia beat India in the ICC final, India beat Australia in the T20 match.
I wouldn't compare these two, because both are vastly different. Winning here is no equal to a win in ICC WC.
Definitely comparing a 50 over format final with a Bilateral series that too 20 over format match is useless. Both the teams played really well. Vishakhapatnam was a batting pitch, hence we saw the bowlers were thrashed by the batsmen. India won due to only one player according to me. It was Mukesh Kumar’s last over, where is just conceded 4-5 runs. Other bowlers were giving away 15+ runs in each and every over, but the clever bowling by Mukesh in the last over, made Australia limit under 210 runs. What’s your thoughts on this?

I only watched highlights, wouldn't be able to judge proper but looking at scorecard, he's having lowest economy rate amongst all bowlers and that India won by only 1 ball, Mukesh Kumar indeed contributed to the win.
I think Mukesh Kumar should be heavily considered in an Indian team. Mukesh Kumar had a decent economy rate in yesterday's match and Australia's batsmen managed to score just five runs in the last over. If Mukesh Kumar had been given a chance in this World Cup, I think he could have achieved a lot. But Mukesh Kumar should play in ODI series as well as T20. His bowling action and the occasional yorker showcased his prodigious talent.

I think sirajj-shami-bumrah trio is good as it gets, but he'd been certainly a better choice in 15 squad instead of Prasidh Krishna (who came when Hardik Pandya got injured).
