I did not know the cryptotalk forum at all, your topic, Gazeta, will have had the merit to make me know it  Maybe I'll find some interesting stuff there but already here I'll never have the time to read everything ... You'll certainly lose your time. That forum is full of spam and it's also Yobit's forum. They even had a signature campaign on BitcoinTalk a while ago and this determined a huge scandal because they wanted to fill BitcoinTalk with spam too. I advise you to not use that forum.
Merit Circle  When I get some free time I will go and search the CryptoTalk forum. To be honest, by now it should have faded in to obscurity by now but if it is still active I will take a look to see what is happening there. The last I checked it was full of spammers and not much else. I can't find that post -- I think The Bearded Baby mentioned that Foxpup's Merit Cycling Club was discussed on CryptoTalk, but I just can't find his post  It was funny, anyway. |

Und ich bin mehr als erfreut zu sehen, dass mein zweites Meisterwerk (so betrachte ich dieses Thema, nach Bitcoin: Der Traum der Cypherpunks, Libertären und Krypto-Anarchisten) nun in vier Sprachen übersetzt wurde. In der Tat braucht ein Übersetzer etwas Mut, um diese Abhandlung zu übersetzen, denn sie ist ziemlich lang, aber ich halte sie für sehr wertvoll.
Dieses Thema sollte jeden auf die Gefahren aufmerksam machen, die mit zentralisierten Börsen und Banken verbunden sind. Gleichzeitig zielt der Artikel darauf ab, die Menschen zu überzeugen, Bitcoin so zu nutzen, wie Satoshi es wollte: Peer-to-Peer und anonym. However, it can still be acted upon if it is reported for plagiarism. With this recent implementation, does it also mean that any plagiarism that isn't detected with the space of 6 months can go unpunished? Sadly, I did not see lately too many action against plagiarists. Most reporters complain that their reports were handled as good, the respective posts were deleted, yet the plagiarists were not banned. The topic Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed receives daily or almost daily updates yet I did not hear about someone being banned recently. MinoRaiola was caught with triple plagiarism (yes, triple!) yet he is still around. |

I include the term "new" in front of points that were revised in the OP. This will allow you to more easily update the translations. This is a good addition and it will ease translators' work. Thank you for clarifying you do not use Telegram but scammers are trying their best to use your name. I did it with the hope that nobody would fall for a scam made by someone using my name... Did you ever consider you could be getting famous beyond the boundaries of the this forum therefore scammers are trying impersonate you? Sincerely I never thought about that. Yet when I found out that Merit Cycling Club is discussed on CryptoTalk or there is even a coin named Merit Circle nothing amazes me anymore =))) |

Bu pure chance, while searching for Italian / German / Polish translations of Assange books, I also found this book, which is written by Chelsea Manning: Readme.txt.  For those not aware, Chelsea Manning (used to be known as Bradley Edward Manning) is the soldier whistleblower which gave more than 400.000 Iraq war logs and almost 100.000 Afghan war logs to Assange, the materials being published by WikiLeaks. The documents depicted all the atrocious things done by American soldiers during these wars. Curiously, before contacting WikiLeaks, he tried to contact The Washington Post and The New York Times but these publications were not interested about such documents. Among the materials leaked by Manning is also included Collateral Murder, a video published also by big press outlets (such as Der Spiegel) presenting how American soldiers are killing civilians during war. Among victims there were also 2 journalists of Reuters. The video is still available on WikiLeaks website and also on other newspapers' websites. Bradley Manning was put to detention in May 2010 inside a 1.8m x 3.6m room which had no window. Poor man (which became a woman meanwhile) finally got free in March 2020. I am more than certain that this book is also a must read and I am going to order it next week. |

Recently I was also quite happy with GazetaBitcoin because it has done a good transaction, only on the forum can verify its authenticity while outside the forum you can say it's a scam unless GazetaBitcoin himself directs it.

This topic is a heads-up for all Telegram users which may want to contact me there: it is not possible. Somebody told me recently that there is (was?) someone on Telegram with my username. When that person asked the impersonator, he said he is GazetaBitcoin. However, later he changed his name. I don't know if the impersonator appeared again, as I do not use Telegram. As a consequence, do not trust anybody from Telegram saying it's me. It is not me, as I do not use Telegram. Those interested to reach me can do it here, on this forum. I don't know exactly what username the imposter used -- if it was Gazeta Bitcoin, GazetaBitcoin, just Gazeta etc. but this is less important. The important part is to (1) never look for me on Telegram; (2) never trust anybody from Telegram saying it's me; (3) if anyone is interested to contact me, I am available on the forum. If there would be a (very less likely) situation where I would need to talk to someone outside the forum, I would instruct that person myself (on the forum) about the ways of communicating outside the forum. Therefore don't let yourself scammed by any imposter saying it's me on Telegram. That's all |

It seems that a new addition was implemented by theymos, which is very useful for reporters: the age of a post.  As far as I see, this message Old post: We generally do not moderate posts this old for on-topicness, substantiveness, multi-posting, and other "cleanliness" issues. is displayed when attempting to report a post made more than 6 months ago. When reporting posts made within past 6 months the message is not displayed. Practically, this message is supposed to help both reporters and mods: reporters don't risk having their reports flagged as bad for reporting old posts (even though the respective posts needed to be reported) and mods don't have to moderate reports for posts older than 6 months, which reduces dramatically their workload. For those unaware, those which used to report old posts risked to have their reports marked as bad. If I remember well, in 2021 or so, you could report posts from 2018 without risking having your reports flagged as bad, yet reporting posts from 2017 would lead to have your reports marked as bad. So now this risk is mitigated. However, I believe that the 6 months is a very short life span for a post to be eligible to be reported. Maybe allowing reports from 2-3 years back would be more useful. For a long time now mods are not overwhelmed by the number of reports, therefore limiting the reports to only 6 months seems too short... Nevertheless, the message is a great addition, especially for those aiming to reach / keep a high ratio of good reports. Thank you, theymos, for this implementation!
In the end, I have a small question about this part: We generally do not moderate posts this old for on-topicness -- shouldn't it be off-topicness instead of "on-topicness"? |

Governs are emphasizing that all these decisions are based on combating these four horsemen, but it's a lie. The problems determined by the horsemen of infocalypse can be mitigated with other ways, not with KYC. I sometimes see no true reason for the invention of KYCs other than enhancing the - monitoring and control policy. [...] It's one of the insane reasons that brought about the idea of cryptography; since no one is ever able to control decentralization, they're simply placing sanctions and the whole move is made political. I haven't seen much improvement on money laundering cases since the inception of KYCs ... They only keep recording cases but the point is, IT HASN'T STOPPED. This is so true. KYC is just another method used by Big Brother for a continuous surveillance of citizen. If you like reading books, Edward Snowden's Permanent Record is a very good book on this matter. And, for same reasons, more and more governments try to replace cash money with credit / debit cards or with CDBCs. Orwell's 1984 is not just a fiction anymore. It here, all around us.
