1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we really make a living in sports betting? on: January 10, 2023, 02:41:28 PM
I heard lots of stories online that there are people who are making a living in sports betting, and honestly it really inspires me that's why I'm still gambling now. So I'm just curious, do we have members of the forum here that are making a living in sports betting? Can they share some inputs on how to be successful like them?

I hope they will share so we will know if it's really possible. I mean, as the saying goes, casinos always win because they have the advantage, so how come people are making a living in sports betting?
Any individual can make a living off of anything so long as they stay consistent and committed to it.
So yes, one can make a living off of sports betting if they are consistent and committed to it. Professional bettors make a living off sports betting. A professional bettor is an individual who considers betting as an opportunity to consistently make money on it. This YouTuber is a professional sports bettor and makes a living from it.
1322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: January 10, 2023, 02:20:56 PM
My question is, have you experienced this kind of gambling with Jersey numbers?
This is strange-sounding. In all the years I've bet on sports, I haven't even run into one person who believes this or performs this kind of analysis.
According to the OP's account of the man who bet them on a draw, this is nothing more than a coincidence and an act of pure chance.
But after this, I'll start paying close attention to football analysis to see if I can pick out somebody who shares this outlook or conviction.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 10, 2023, 06:33:08 AM
In yesterday's match, Napoli confirmed that the loss of points to Inter was an accident at work and left no illusions to Sampdoria who is the better team. Napoli should also thank Roma for fighting to the end against Milan. Two goals scored by Roma in the very end of the match puts Napoli as much as 7 points ahead of Milan and Juventus. This will certainly give Napoli some extra comfort ahead of the upcoming match against Juventus.
Roma scored their second by a stroke of luck after Giroud was substituted. This happened because their defence became weak.
I never expected Roma to have such a comeback in the last minutes of the games. Milan just relaxed and thought all was over. Hopefully this will serve as a drive for them in their coming games against Spezia and Fiorentina.
Jose Mourinho is building a strong team, but it would be nice to see a win and not a draw.

1326  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: January 09, 2023, 01:38:44 AM
Follow the money if you want to be wealthy; if you want to change the world, follow your passion. This is how I see the world.
You already know that pursuing your passion will ultimately lead to financial success, mental tranquility, and fulfillment.
Most often, following the money results in anxiety, stress, and depression. Because the person is more concerned with their money account balance, etc., rather than with slowing down and enjoying life.
His interactions with his family and friends will be impacted. Due of their lack of family time, wealthy, workaholic individuals frequently get divorced. They continue to work even while they are at home.
1327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: January 09, 2023, 01:31:48 AM
I'm curious to see how long he actually serves. As a result of his parents' high status in the legal world, the fact that bail was granted, and money was paid is telling.
I can't wait to see how the defense comes up with a strategy.
Perhaps it is more pertinent to ask the judge(s) and prosecutor whether they take things as easy as possible on SBF because of their legal and professional influence, which can shape a lawyer's future career.
1328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scalping, my best trading strategy on: January 09, 2023, 01:06:49 AM
Every traders should have his own trading techniques in which he/she make profit the most. Stick to this technique as long as it's profitable to you.
Backtesting and demo trading are two things I value highly.
Scalping is the trading method that takes the longest to fully perfect, but once you do, you'll find that it is also the most profitable and allows you to trade for the shortest amount of time—at most, 2-3 hours per day.
Numerous successful traders employ a variety of trading techniques. Another trader might not observe what one does, but they might both make money in the same market on the same day.
1329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't feel comfortable with crypto exchange on: January 09, 2023, 12:41:41 AM
There is someone reading this post who still thinks that nothing can happen to coins and will go on to leave them in CEX despite the numerous cautions on this forum and in other places.
I learned the hard way when I lost access to my account on one of the CEX and had to go back and forth with the service agents to restore access.
As soon as I did, I quickly downloaded electrum wallet and moved my coins leaving only a small amount for transactions.
If you are a newbie, listen to the brilliant advice you receive here and move your coins out now.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 09, 2023, 12:24:24 AM
Most gamblers must have went through this, sometimes luck appears to be your side specially in games like casino war or dice.

Today, morning I was playing casino war, I just use martingale - I know it's lame strategy. But I won most of time.

Then later at noon, luck just didn't appear to be on my side. A constant losses with win every once in a while to recoup the losses and then losing streak, all funds gone.

Now, let's be some superstitious and say, if you play only when luck appears to be on your side, would you call that a good strategy?

What I believe is that sometimes this "feeling luck" as we may call it that enables us to win is actually the state of our minds when we play.
Noticed that whenever one has a clear head and mind, the individual is able to play a game well without any intrusive thoughts.
You notice that at this point when you have no damn care of the world around you and your mind is just on the game you may start to experience some "luck". The reverse is the case. This is from personal experience.
1331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 08, 2023, 05:39:52 PM
Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?
The first lesson I learned as a beginner trader came from a loss.
A loss from a Demo trading simulation. I concur that loss will teach you a lesson when you first begin trading but losing consistently means something must be wrong somewhere.
Also, you learn a lesson or two when you win by reviewing and asking yourself why? What did I do differently or what should I keep doing?
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 08, 2023, 05:31:25 PM
Manchester City - Chelsea is 3-0 and almost half time. It went very fast there. It just shows how volatile team Chelsea are. Winner of the CL a few years ago. I think the score will go even higher as Chelsea now has to take built-in risks. Or maybe accept this defeat and make sure no players get injured in the 2nd half. Even if Chelsea were to change course, it would still be a hopeless mission at Manchester City. There is a basic place for Ziyech. Both teams seem to play in the strongest formation in this match.
I expected Man City to win, and they did not disappoint. I know it is not yet over yet but with the kind of game play I have seen in the first half, I doubt if Chelsea will be able to catch up. They are clearly the favorite and are dominating the game while showing off so much confidence.
Walker, Phil, Cole Palmer, and Mehrez are playing excellently well.
Looking forward to a 4-1 scoreline at the end of the game.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Gambling Slang and Terms that Beginners Should be Aware of on: January 08, 2023, 05:20:45 PM
Betting exchange caught my attention because it is my first time of seeing that betting terminology.
I am still new to betting, so I find it a little confusing because I am trying to wrap my head around how gamblers are able to bet against each other.
But all in all, this is a great list. I looked through the links provided by the OP and encountered some other betting terms such as - bet constructor, dead heat, futures bet, Handicap, longshot etc.
1334  Economy / Economics / Re: Effect of the FIFA world cup on Qatar's economy on: January 08, 2023, 05:06:24 PM
Qatar hosted the world cup for more than just their economy because they are a very rich nation.
They did it for their image, national pride and pride of the Arab world.
I would like to think that they were like what other nations can do we can do it better. And they sure did.
Granted hosting the world cup may have positively reflected on their economy, but we can agree that they did it to make a statement and write their names in history books. This was the best world ever.
1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 08, 2023, 04:58:45 PM
namely selling the motorbike and the money to buy bitcoin, is it wrong or not?

I'm ready to be corrected because I have no experience in bitcoin and crypto.
This right here is a great idea.
It is better than taking out a loan to buy bitcoin. Furthermore, it will give you a good head start for you to then start to DCAing.
Infact, I think I would look around my house to find stuff that I no longer need and probably do a garage sale. I'll then take the proceeds and invest it in bitcoin. Cold storage wallet will take care of the price volatility.
1336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: January 07, 2023, 07:41:56 AM
...Investing in bitcoin have no risk as far as I am concerned because of the trust I have for Bitcoin, and I am taking this bear market as the right time to place my investment, because its a perfect time for me.
Everything has inherent risks.
Any investment without risk is a shaddy one. Aside the volatility risks, there are those who seek to steal your coins. They are called Scammers.
And they are on the rise. So, take care when you see websites offering 10x bitcoins when you invest or even those that may ask you for personal information so as to access your rewards after performing some mundane tasks.
This is one of the risks and you can lose you bitcoin forever.

1337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you really think about trading bots? on: January 07, 2023, 03:34:13 AM
What do you think about trading bots in general?
I have never tried it. Once I attempted to set it up on Binance but changed my mind.
They say I should just keep up to date with the happenings, then do some settings and I could go on vacation knowing that the bots will make me money. Hell no. Maybe I am not too comfortable yet with letting a bit make trading decisions for me. I am yet to be convinced that they can make as much money as human traders can.
But to think of it, do they make losses too?
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If Luck Was Measured In Percentage, Rate Your Luck In 2022 From 0-100 on: January 07, 2023, 03:15:59 AM
I gambled heavily but responsibly towards the last quarter of the year largely because of the World Cup. At the beginning of tournament, I lost some money to the underdogs- especially when I thought Argentina was going win Saudi Arabia and so on.
But then as I began to understand the games better, my winning started to increase.
If I should measure my luck percentage for 2022, I would give myself a 10%.
I am still putting a plan in place for 2023.
1339  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 07, 2023, 03:07:55 AM
I wonder, especially in other countries, how drastic is the change in your daily life that's brought about by this economic downturn?
It takes guts to survive these times. So many people are suffering and struggling. The stress and strain it causes in family relationships shouldn't be overlooked.
Someone who was recently affected by the downsizing in his company has turned to alcohol to ease the pain as he has to deal with a nagging partner each day supplies in the home depletes with little or no hope to restock. He has taken to doing odd jobs just to make ends meet. Yet the jobs are nor regular. I hope this ends soon.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: January 07, 2023, 03:00:38 AM
Yes.
I tell my partner everything. And just like me, she is a crypto supporter. So I have no qualms with telling her about my seed phrase or where I have stored it.
We discuss these things almost every day at the dinner table and it feels great knowing that should anything happen to me my assets will not be lost forever. On the other hand, if you have a spouse who doesn't care about bitcoin be patient with them and teach them. Do not reveal to them your seed phrase for it will be unwise to do so.
