1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying bills with digital currency cards, gift cards on: April 05, 2023, 04:32:55 AM
I think what is at work here is some sort of Artificial Intelligence program. And I think it is cool.
You know in the world we live today where everyone is in a hurry to do something, this makes shopping fun and less stressful.
The icing on the cake is the different payment options that co-exists. This is how it is suppossed to be. This is how I want it to be. Not one toppling over the other. I hope to have the sort of experience someday.
1002  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long in Years Should I Wait Before I Close Down an Unprofitable Business on: April 04, 2023, 08:33:20 PM
I don't think anyone can or should decide when to shut down an unprofitable business. It's yours and the decision lies solely with the entrepreneur. It you think your business isn't profitable, try a different approach, a different strategy, a different product or service. Do it until you discover what works and what doesn't. Besides there are a lot of reasons why businesses fail. Unfavorable government policies towards businesses may cause a business to fail, will you tend in turn say it is your hobby? No. So, nobody should be pressured by Kelvin. He doesn't know it all.
1003  Other / Off-topic / Re: Prepare for the life when you get old on: April 04, 2023, 08:00:34 PM

Always plan for the future. What do you think ?
Life doesn't always wound up the way we planned it. It is quite unfortunate that your uncle has to face the situation he is in currently. I hope it gets better for him. Over the years as I watch some older folks, and senior colleagues in relation to your story, he is what I have to say
-sometimes we give up family time so that they can have a good life better than the one we have. Maybe that was his only option as at them.
- having some sort of fall-back-on savings or funds is very important. Because they come back to save us.
- If you are making a lot of money as a young person plan for your future by investing in real estate, or gold. Just buy an asset that will appreciate in value over time.

1005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rules to follow with bitcoin to live a happy life. on: April 04, 2023, 05:09:33 AM
Many people/I come to crypto for making so much money, But I am in loss now, I want to share some rules and mistake that beginner or most of the people make that is harmful for there mental and physical health.

3. never take leverage more than you can afford to hold for a night and sleep with no worry.

The psychological stress that comes as a result of being overleveraged cannot be compared with anything in this world. It is so draining emotionally. You can't eat, you can't sleep, every second your heart is racing and can even lead the individual to make rash decisions that could result in a significant loss of assets. Imagine still being required to pay a loan you requested when the market crashes. How do you repay? You request for a loan from someone else to repay the current loan. This is too much for anyone to handle.
1006  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your honest review of the Demo account? on: April 04, 2023, 04:39:37 AM
I to an extent understand the point of the OP.
However, if I am to share my honest opinion about demo account from personal experience, I would say that it helped me build confidence, in addition while using it, I developed some good trading skills and risk management strategies that made trading easier when I moved to a live account. Worthy of note is that I did use demo account alone, becasue it is just a simulation and do not 90% reflect the true state of the market. So, added some resources too that helped me along the way.
1007  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Things I've learned day trading Bitcoin for 3 years (successfully) on: April 04, 2023, 04:22:49 AM
As someone who has been day trading Bitcoin for the past 3 years usually successfully, I have learned some valuable lessons that have helped me become a successful trader. Here are five key things I've learned:

5. Risk management is critical. Managing risk is essential to a day trader's survival. I always set stop-loss orders and avoid over-leveraging my trades to limit losses and protect my capital.

In the last couple of years of trading, the lesson that stood out the most for me is the principle of risk management and how crucial it is in trading. I specifically learned that, if done correctly the trader need not loss because on the flip side of it is profitability over a long period of time. I could remember instances where my risk management strategies have helped me to make better decisions like looking that the risk and reward inherent in every trade before jumping in. I cannot overemphasize how much my trading discipline and consistency has improved over the last couple of years because I have been able to adhere to the rules I set for myself.
1008  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: April 03, 2023, 07:33:41 PM
We all know the quote "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" I heard this quote when I was in high school now I'm grown up. I always wondering why?

Is it that the rich have already wealth the day they are born? Have savings and investment?

While the poor doesn't have any of those?

The point is I started in low before having some savings and investment. I'm not saying I'm already rich but I can say that I'm better than before. Can you guys share your ideas with this topic.

The rich aren't necessary rich in money, they are rich in network, they are rich in ideas, they are rich in opportunities, they are rich in freedom and access, they are rich in personality. That is what I believe when they say the rich gets richer because if you are rich in these things, your networth will keep expanding. On the other hand, the poor is the reverse, ideas are lacking, they work super hard but not smart because there is hardly anyone to give them the opportunity. Infact, they have to work twice as hard to get half of what the rich has. Limited resources and lack of access to opportunities keeps them poor. This is my understanding.
1009  Economy / Economics / Re: Money hardly come this days! Why? on: April 03, 2023, 07:19:38 PM
My children are at home chase from school, I could not pay fees again. What could be the cause of scarcity of cash?
I feel you and I want you to hang in there.
Things are getting incredibly difficult and costly. The prices of everything is sky rocketing, sadly it is not so with our wages. My advice is to find some sort of services to render. Money is so hard to come by these days because of the current global economic crises from America to China to Europe, there's just too much going on and it is spilling over into the financial sector. For your kids, you may consider homeschooling them for the main time until things get better which we hope and pray they do.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for a beginner, a reality in a difficult time? on: April 03, 2023, 07:00:16 PM
At this time, is it possible for a beginner to learn bitcoin, where is it better, which courses are effective?
At this time, it is only the beginner that can answer the question because as I know where there is a will there is a way. Is the beginner ready and willing to learn? Can the beginner set aside a minimum of 30 minutes every day to learn about bitcoin? There are many resources out there for a beginner and I know that it will be difficult to pick a particular one. My suggestion is for you to go with the resources provided by users on the forum. Just pick one and go with it. It may audio, video or text, go with the one that appeals most to you.
1011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are you still strong holding btc on: April 03, 2023, 06:37:12 PM
Yes, I am still holding, I am still accumulating. I am not even doing it because of the speculation, I am doing it because I already have a strategy in place to keep buying consistently.
The price is a secondary factor. I believe in the bitcoin project, and I know that sooner or later it is going to coexist with other currencies, and it is those who have already stacked up enough in the past that will be highly on the advantageous side.
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you got rid of to accumulate Bitcoin on: April 02, 2023, 10:12:32 PM
I got rid of my Rolex watch and motorcycle to buy some Bitcoins.
I would never sell an item whose worth I know would appreciate in the future to buy Bitcoin, it would be silly of me.
Aside giving up anything, another way I get Bitcoin is to do odd jobs assuming I have lost my source of income. I would do odd jobs and request that the equivalent in Bitcoin be sent to my wallet.
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin? on: April 02, 2023, 08:59:38 PM
I wouldn't know if any of my relatives knows or deals with bitcoin because i have never heard or had such discussion with them before.
I first heard about bitcoin from a close friend then i thought it was nothing serious or something that will not be useful or profitable.
As time goes on, a friend again came to me and said much about bitcoin that i should try and invest on it. So he thought me everything i need to know about bitcoin and today am happy about it.
1014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: April 02, 2023, 07:47:38 PM
This topic almost seems funny but in reality it is not funny.
Why on earth will a bitcoin trader think of trading in the beer palour in the first place? (Rhetorical question).
Any bitcoin trader who knows the consequences of wrong trading should never think of it talk more of being drunk.
Well i have never come across such before but i can tell that the esperience will never be a sweet one to say.
You should never allow anyone  who is drunk to trade  in bitcoin becuse the outcome will be very fatal.
1015  Economy / Economics / Re: Always Have a financial record in whatever business you own on: April 02, 2023, 05:04:08 AM
What is not measured cannot be improved(Peter Drucker)
Most small and medium enterprises always overlook the aspect of a good financial record keeping. Some feel they are in control. There is no need.
While some others may have just learned it from their parents who ran or managed similar business in the past.
There are too many pros to having a financial record in this age that it cannot be stress enough. And the internet age has made it all the easier because there are several bookkeeping apps that will save you stress and even improve your business inflow and outflow of cash.
1016  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: April 02, 2023, 04:44:33 AM
The poverty eradication is on both side, that is the government and her citizens (Thats us). The government can do it alone without our help.
Though the government has a vital role to play in the since that the price control agencies are not really working.
In my country, I bet you that the government are not really aware of some price increment on some commodities.
If we the citizen will help the government by not adding too much price on the commodities it will help a long way.
So, it all depends on both the government and us.
1017  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: April 01, 2023, 03:26:57 PM
My answer to your question is No. In my own opinion, there is no way that bitcoin will be allowed to become the global reserve currency anytime soon.
the World Bank, The governments of countries, and the IMF, will not consent to it. They want something that they can control, manipulate and regulate and bitcoin doesn't fall into any of these categories.
What I can say is that it may become the reserve currency of some countries just El Salvador(I believe some other countries with failing economies will join soon) but not the world.
Countries like China, Russia, Brazil are already in talks to ditch the USD and create their own and bitcoin isn't on the table, so I don't think we will see bitcoin being a reserve currency anytime soon.
1018  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: April 01, 2023, 03:06:00 PM
I wonder if higher education will help for entrepreneurship?
I am more interested in how much theory will help in this, because during a long study we do not get practice, this will be possible only when we start doing business, until that moment we will not be able to know how much it will help us.

This can help us if we need a license, but in some cases it can be obtained without a higher education.

Statistically, 95% of entrepreneurs have a bachelor's degree or higher and I wonder, for those of you who are involved in entrepreneurship, how useful was higher education for you?
Higher education is important but not necessary in entrepreneurship.
Well, that is why they have internship, externship as the case may be. Where after a long period of classroom work you move to the field to practice and apply what you have learned. Through this some persons may have seen their businesses improved and may have generated innovative ideas that takes their business to the next level.
Some may even go further to get an MBA because they want to advance their businesses. Most of the top executives in fortune 500 companies have some sort of higher education related to their business. it helps.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to Bitcoin events on: April 01, 2023, 01:52:25 PM
Going to bitcoin, crypto, blockchain events benefits us in anyway ?
Not just going to bitcoin events alone but actively participating in them can be super enriching and give you a career boost.
Last year, I volunteered in one of the local bitcoin events organized by a bitcoin enthusiast in my locality.
That simple opportunities alone catapulted me and opened so many doors in the crypto and web 3 ecosystem. Infact my perspective changed because I met a lot of people in that space that weren't techies they were just on the non-tech aspect of it. I got a change to undergo a 4-weeks mentoring class.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't become world currency (at least now). on: April 01, 2023, 01:40:31 PM
We have too many high hopes about bitcoin and it will do us a whole lot of good if we can tone it down a bit so as not to get disappointed.
There's too many socio-policital forces fighting bitcoin and as you can see they are trying all their best to bring it down. We must first be able to defeat them before we by a slight chance bring up the topic of it going to be a world currency.

By the way if China, Russia, South Africa are looking to create their own currency for trade what makes us thing they would by any means consider Bitcoin. I do not want bitcoin to become the world's currency, I want it to co=exist with other currencies. That's how it should be and not the other way around.
