861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or banking investment? on: May 28, 2023, 03:37:03 AM
I believe bitcoin and banks are well renounced investment platforms but many people prefer bitcoin investment despite is very risky because of high demands and rising price interest and banks on the other hand saves millions of people finances all over the world yet their investment interest is very small but less risky than bitcoin.
- Banks are not investment platforms. They are places where you keep money and sometimes it gets stolen right under your nose.
- Bitcoin is an investment that increases over time.
- Old people choose to put their monies in the banks that for them is the most secure place they have know since they were kids. Young people on the other hand prefer bitcoin because they get to control their money, the ease of access or convnience and fast transactions for payment purposes.

Quote
Which do you preferred your money to be save in as investment? Bitcoin or bank! What's your reason?
There is nothing wrong in keeping your money in both places, but you have to do it smartly. Maybe in ratios or whichever method pleases you. Say 70% bitcoin and 30% banks. My reasons are that bitcoin is where I feel safe after having a terrible banking experience with cross border payment and other stuff.

Having to pay out of pocket because of issues like this is every manager's worse nightmare but then it is a necessary evil just to maintain their reputation and keep the users happy. I knew Royse did that during the time with bitlucy and even Hampuz in one of the campaigns he managed some time ago. I hope he doesn't have to go it again. This is not how it should be.

Let's remain positive and hope for the best.

Cheers.
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People with quick rich attitude always mess up with alt coins on: May 23, 2023, 10:45:44 AM
The get rich quick mentality is one of the most prominent qualities of most people who are interested in altcoin even the founders. If not why do we have a lot of them springing up every other day just to disappear in a moment. I do not see anything wrong with it because if we analyze carefully, it is the survival of the fastest or the "firstest".

People who mess up alt coins do it so that as soon as they get their profit, they take it out buy some nice stuff or something for themselves and throw the remainder into bitcoin. It is not bad.
865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is ageing and old people part of bitcoin? on: May 23, 2023, 10:35:38 AM
Parents that are of age, what do we think about then? Do you think they're eligible and learned to learn about bitcoin? Talking about ageing parents of 70, 80, and 90s. Looking at the current world parents don't like their children to be exposed to internet maybe because of their past experience of scam threats or they've trade something similar to bitcoin in the past.

Do you think our ageing parents are into crypto investment or trading? Some of them are sound and intelligent and they can comfortable operates their tabs while relaxing. If they're probably into crypto why are some of them advising their children to diseased from internet?

Let's see brilliant opinion
Buying some amounts of bitcoin is a type of investment. It is nothing so special and just like anyone with the right information and guidance can make an informed decision about what asset to invest and which to stay away from, so it is with investing with bitcoin.

If our ageing parents aren't new to investing, then it will be no hassle for them investing in bitcoin but if they have never done anything about investing all their lives that is if they have been strictly career-people then I advise would be that they can buy some bitcoin and let a trusted financial advisor or a trusted member of their family handle it.
866  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maintain profitability in crypto trading on: May 09, 2023, 10:54:57 PM
<...>
Of all the ways mentioned by the OP which I in no way disagree with...they are all good but without the trader dealing with their emotions, even if they apply all of these, they will never be profitable. It is the key to profitability.
Once you have been able to keenly observe the market, as soon as the price hits the point where you desire or expect, set the take profit order and stop loss. Once it is done, be disciplined enough to leave the market briefly and keep tweaking it as you go.
867  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 09, 2023, 10:31:02 PM
As a young person, I am overwhelmed by my curiosity in trading Bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to resign my white collar work and return to trading exclusively Bitcoin.

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?
You can do whatever you want OP. You need to be at the pro-level of trading in addition to having made profitable trades before making a decision to quit your job. Since a trader cannot be an alone identify yourself with other traders in the community who are way higher an above you before thinking about.

I'd say do not be in a hurry. The universe will bring it to your consciousness when it is time to move fully into it and by that time, you wouldn't need to ask anyone because you would feel ready, and everything would be in place for you.
868  Economy / Economics / Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 09, 2023, 10:17:45 PM
Money should make you happy but if it doesn't then you are probably spending it the wrong way. See the eight suggested principles to help anyone to be able to get happiness from their money.
  • buy more experiences and fewer material goods
  • use your money to benefit others rather than yourself
  • buy many small pleasures rather than fewer large ones
  • eschew extended warranties and other forms of overpriced insurance
  • delay consumption
  • consider how peripheral features of your purchases may affect your day-to-day life
  • beware of comparison shopping
  • pay close attention to the happiness of others

These suggestions are not mine but are from the scientific findings of EW Dunn et al. They are valid suggestions which even without reading have been practicing.  What are you take on these suggestions? Do you have more to add to what the researchers have discovered about this?

869  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of entrepreneur in school curriculum on: May 09, 2023, 06:01:22 PM
It isn't a story that job opportunities are scarce in some developing countries. Graduate strive to survive after there higher education. Taking Nigeria as an example, it is seen that unemployment rate keep increasing with time. Majority of our graduate strive for living by engaging in commercial transport like okada, tricycle etc. Introducing entrepreneur to people at early stage (in school) can help to reduce unemployment in the society. A cousin of mine that studied accountancy in school is now living his life on music he learnt through an entrepreneural scheme in his secondary school days. Entrepreneur teaches some skills which formal education may not likely teach.  Some of these include:
Entrepreneurship without an environment for entrepeneurs to thrives is useless. Entrepreneurship with start-up loans, grants, fellowships and opportunities for mentorship is useless because their business idea no matter how brilliant it may sound will fold up within 5 years which is the duration given to judge whether a business will be successful or not according to experts.

Some entrepreneurs I know doing business in very hostile environment and are barely making profit, but they have no other place to go if they shut the business down. So, while it is great to teach entrepreneurship in school, there should also be a section where these future entrepreneurs are taught how to lobby government officials so as to pass bills and laws that would favour them and the nation at large.
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Calls for Bitcoin Adoption Amidst Transaction Challenges on: May 09, 2023, 05:40:45 PM
This amaze me seing that despite the current ongoing crisis with the bitcoin transaction high fee demands, individuals, institutions and governments are not giving up on bitcoin because they want a total free abd fare decentralized financial network which can only be soughted with bitcoin and it's adoption irrespective of the situation now, there's still more confidence and hope in bitcoin than the traditional currency we have been using.
People who know bitcoin already know that these high fees have been experienced before and it went away in a couple of months. So, this is not new. Besides, if bitcoin survived then and the rate of adoption increased, nothing can stop it now. The call and push for bitcoin adoption should not be hindered by the high fees. I do not think that people who invest in bitcoin today will be preforming any transactions tomorrow.

Quote
Also in Florida, the governor made the announcement that they are not interested in the government controlled and centralized financial institutions in running the economy assets, they are giving in support for bitcoin adoption in other for everyone to have this same financial freedom others are benefiting.

Hold up, isn't the governor of Florida also a government official? Well, it is one thing to give support to bitcoin and it is another thing to have other members of parliament or however they call them in the US support the motion. Unless he gives an executive order.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Aliens accept BTC, What about newborns? on: May 09, 2023, 05:16:37 PM
Let's say we run into some other species will they accept a 95% premined supply?
Yes bitcoin is 95% premine to anyone coming into contact with it for the first time today.

Chances are they are more advanced than us let's say

Do you think the aliens will accept bitcoin

Are you an Alien? Have you met one? To think that Alien will dare to interact with humans which they think are of lower intelligence sounds ridiculous. Bitcoin to them will be what fiat is to us now.
From all the documentaries I have watched about alien adoption, not one of the humans released thereafter spoke of aliens having a conversation with them. So no, Aliens won't accept bitcoin or any cryptocurrency because it will be utterly useless to them.
872  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 08, 2023, 08:29:56 AM
Customer relation, a businessperson must understand that customer is king and should be treated like a royalty. Even it they are buying the least thing in your shop. When they leave your shop delighted, be assured that they will always come back to patronize you. And they will even market your products to their friends. Meaning more patronage for your business which will be increasing your profit.
For a customer to be treated as king the businessperson if they have staff working for them must invest in training of the staff. In addition, if you have a physical shop space, consider giving it a modern look because most times, customers will return because of the ambience, atmosphere they experienced while shopping.

Quote
Your business should have at least one season when you give out rewards and discounts to customers when they buy your products. This will increase your sales geometrically and when you remove the cost of the reward and discounts, you will still have increased profit.
If some businesses adopt a sort of casino VIP loyalty club model, it may attract more customers and increase sales. casino VIP loyalty club model will be for those customers who buy the most and are returning customers. They may even help to make small customer-shop base decisions. At least you will be getting opinions on how to improve your business from the customer point of view.
873  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 08, 2023, 08:15:26 AM
Moving abroad isn't an easy decision; there are several factors to take into account, with the most important one being the language barrier. I only speak English; moving anywhere apart from the USA and UK would be a huge challenge because I'd have to learn a new language from scratch. Moreover, you'd have to take into account the increasing living costs of Germany compared to Greece, which means that you must have saved enough money until you manage to get settled in one place.
Moving is as expensive as almost setting up a small business. There are other countries that speak English aside the US and UK. In addition, there are countries where they have a large international community, so they are lenient on learning their own language. Countries where English speakers are needed to help teach their kids in school English. The standard of living in countries differs from state to state. So, you have to move abroad, you need to consider moving to a state or province where the standard of living is relative low.

So far, in my opinion, the best option for work seems to be online, especially if it has flexible hours and a working schedule. You can work from wherever and whenever you want, provided you get the job done. Digital nomads have been increasing over the past few years, and it seems like a perfect opportunity that provides work-life balance. I believe that it's something that would suit my personal needs. I want to travel and explore as many destinations as possible, so working a regular 9-5 job with 20 vacation days per year isn't going to cut it.

This is another great option for people with digital skills. Those without any digital skills may have to spend another two years acquiring the skills to even gain an entry level position to be able to perfect the skill before considering online work. It is not easy so the individual will require some patience.

Quote
So yes, would you consider moving abroad for a better future? Would you try to find a way to stay in your country, either through online work or by accessing all possible opportunities?
No, I would stay in my country where I already have a 10 year plan which is already working out fine for me.
874  Economy / Economics / Re: China Digital yuan vs US dollars on: May 08, 2023, 06:15:31 AM
China is sprinting its testing on the digital yuan. It will not take too long before the digital Yuan is executed and it believes China will become less independent of the US Dollar.
China would do anything to be free from the US Dollar. I wait for the time when it becomes a reality and would like to see if will enable achieve the financial dominance, they think is being suppressed by the US dollars.
Assuming this happens, the next thing we would hear is that they are trying to dominate the BRICs. Well, that's by the way what I like about its central bank digital currency (CBDC) is that, it has been in developed since the past couple of years. And it has gone through several testing phases unlike other countries that just jumped into it without any test and the project is failing woefully becasue they didn't do their due diligence.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a tool for the defenseless/debilitated to combat the most influential on: May 08, 2023, 05:46:49 AM
With the uptrend of Bitcoin, soon many countries perceived as less powerful will be taking the bold step by adopting Bitcoin institutionally to lessen the effectiveness of US dollar and British pounds which are regarded as being the most used and powerful currencies. they are going to do this in a clever and surreptitious way in subdueing it's expends in their country to enable them to maintain influence of their citizens.
Bitcoin is not in a currency war with the Dollar, gold, any other currency. It is on its own. Small nations that are performing abysmally economically are too scared to take the bold step just like El Salvador and adopt bitcoin. These are for many reasons - political, influences from the west, their citizens are just not ready, technological etc

Quote
Bitcoin as an indistructive currency is a good option to deploy in other to counter your perceived persecutors.
It is true but it is one of the measures. If bitcoin is still used in a country where corruptions and terrible economic policies is the order of the day, it will be of no good to those countries.
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: May 08, 2023, 05:36:17 AM
The majority of the investors and traders have misconception on investments because they think that they will easily become successful by putting their hard earned money in bitcoin and other assets without understanding that it is just the foundation and they need to work really hard and follow the other steps to beat the market and able to have gains in their portfolio.
It is only a naive person that thinks this way. Or maybe someone who is overly optimistic and has a disillusion about how reality works. And people in this category shouldn't even think about investing in bitcoin or in anything for that matter until they get the proper a perspective.

Quote
INVESTING ON MIND: Invest in knowledge before putting your hard earned money on bitcoin, the opportunities in the market is unlimited. Do not fall for the Fear of Missing Out because the opportunities always existing in the market especially if you train your mind to see it. People do not see those opportunities because they never invest in their knowledge. You have money to make investment but why don't you have spre money for your education? Lack of knowledge will lead you to incur losses and the only one to cure it is to make an investment in yourself. The investment that you will do is not for short term only, but it can help you to achieve a lot of great things in life. So what are you doing now? Don't hesitate and make sure that you should invest in your mind. This is one of the greatest decision that you ever made.

I would write that we should invest in knowledge and invest in experience. Go to an older more experienced and successful person and humbly request that they take you under their wings and mentor you. They should acts as role models whose footsteps you should follow. You should sit with them during investment meetings, you should go with them conferences, you should observe them and ask intelligent questions. That's investing in knowledge and in experience.
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 07, 2023, 09:03:43 PM
Go ahead and invest in Bitcoin. Take risks. Calculated risks though. Start with $10, $20, or $30 any amount you can spare. Buy it, hold while you concentrate on your academics and graduate with honors.
One of the reasons why I said you should hold is because if you're so focused on the price movement anxiety fears and doubt will overtake you and it might be difficult for you to focus on your studies so hold and keep reading up on Bitcoin and it investment.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can't do something else offline, is this something wrong? on: May 05, 2023, 10:15:09 PM
How are you guys running two business together? If the hustle isn't online I don't like it, I have few asic miners that I use to mine Bitcoin and I monitor the farm every day, I also gamble online too, I am also a big crypto investor, I am convenient with these.
I see no wrong in your online business since it pays you to your satisfaction. Truth be told, i think you need other source of income offline just incase. No one prays for the worst but it's a good thing you prepare for it. Having other offline business cannot stop you from your online businesses.
Maybe because you are so use to working online. You should pay little attention to other businesses  maybe there will be a different in your income increasingly. The choice is your though.
879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or investment! What's your take? on: May 05, 2023, 07:11:19 PM
My take between investing and trading is that for one to stay with what is working for you. Do not say that your friends are doing trading and it's working for them so, you'd join them. And when it doesn't work you keep moving.
My take is that you should be patient, observe, study and know what your strength and weakness are with regards to both of them and then when you have found out, play to your strength.
880  Economy / Economics / Re: Have a Income? Invest in Crypto or Not? Let's think realistically on: May 05, 2023, 03:40:13 PM
Small profit is still profit. And the first rule of thumb for me is contentment. If you as a newbie trader compares yourself with a Joe that is a professional trader who makes $500k per week on trading you may truncate whatever trading career you are building up for yourself.

Because you refused to control yourself and your emotions. Pro traders do not let their emotions control them. That's why they know when to trade and when to take a rest.
