721  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: July 08, 2023, 07:06:24 PM
I wonder if millionaires and multi-millionaires think this way. Most multi-millionaires that I know Ada through association or really know about them actually have investments in businesses I have not seen one who became rich through landed properties. They are more into the Business of buying and selling of commodities or offering some sort of service. This opinion of landed property is being the best investment is a perspective that is gotten based on one's geographical location.
722  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is crypto trading so similar yet so different from Forex trading? on: July 08, 2023, 06:48:25 PM
This is simply a matter of peer influence. 80% of my friends are in cryptocurrency trading. We eat, breathe and sleep Bitcoin. It is therefore normal to lean into crypto trading more than forex trading. I have more experience with the crypto trading app that forex. I have met with crypto traders and we've had a fair discussion on the similarities but no one is willing to give up their passion for the other.
723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P will safe your life on: July 08, 2023, 04:53:11 PM
This is not true, true p2p eliminates an intermediary or third party, if there is a third party it is no longer peer to peer, but peer to intermediary, and intermediary to the other peer.
Do you then mean that Binance p2p feature is not really a what it is but a peer to intermediary? This is a bit confusing. Care to explain further?

Quote
Trade in person with people you know and have probably traded with in the past. If you don't want to use that form, then choose a p2p exchange like Bisq, the trading funds would always remain in your custody through a multi-sig set up, so there is unlikely to be dispute, but if there is, Bisq arbitration would help to settle the dispute.
Can you mentioned another p2p exchange or rather does a platform like Remitano fall under this category? I have used it several times and whenever I encounter any issues, their customer agent are always on ground to resolve it.
724  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 08, 2023, 04:39:26 PM
One of my favourite YouTubers has his investment in high-end watches. His other investments are in cryptocurrencies, he has a software company and social media marketing. I remember him saying that the moment he bought one of those luxury watches  and stepped out of the shop the price of the watch doubled. So yes luxury watches is a good investment but I wouldn't trade it for bitcoin investment or real estate because I feel that these are much more easier to protect than a luxury watch.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 06, 2023, 09:07:31 PM
Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?
I have never seen any underage gambling being exposed. The minimum age to gamble should be 21 years. And anyone one below such age found gambling should be punished. I mean legal action should be taken against the person. I suggest that individuals be made to write an essay on negative effect of gambling addiction on underaged gamblers. They should also have the person sit through lectures on gambling addiction and attend Gambling Anonymous meetings. This is to enable see firsthand the inherent dangers of gambling when it goes out of hand.
726  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 06, 2023, 08:54:06 PM
My question is, what big purchase could we see Elon Musk likely make this year?
Elon would buy whatever Elon wants. It could be the moon, the Atlantic Ocean, or the Titanic lying at the bottom of ocean. No one knows and no one really cares. Everyone is trying to eke out a living for themselves and we care less about his next purchase we it adds no single dollar or bitcoin to our wallet. One thing that I know is that whatever he decided to buy next, he already has the full backing of the government and would benefit from them through tax cuts and all.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you not hodling on: July 06, 2023, 08:46:08 PM
Now I want to know what really do you think is holding people back for hodling this period?
Please try to answer the poll and I hope to update the thread with result of the thread after getting enough results, possibly after the 5th page.
Not everyone is as enthusiastic about bitcoin despite investing a couple hundred of dollars in it. Holding bitcoin and having to consider whether to use it in since it doesn't have a real-life use case of it in one's surroundings may be the reason some people are not holding it. Not understanding how it works may be another reason why people are not holding. Skepticism and uncertainty may be another reason why people are not holding. Government propaganda may be another reason why people are not holding it. The government may make people believe the only use for bitcoin is to commit crime. So progovernment supporters would buy whatever they say and swallow it without caring to do their own research. These are some reasons.
728  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need a book recommendation on: July 06, 2023, 08:05:57 PM
Hello everyone , I'am a beginner on crypto trading and i'am
looking for your recommendation on some essential books on how to trade/trading strategies (preferably on day trading), any of your recommendations would help, thank you.

You are welcome to the trading journey. You should take baby steps each day and not rush it. You have asked a very insightful question. I have gone through the thread and so many book recommendations have been given. How do you go about picking the right one to start with? Some of the recommended books are not beginner friendly so you should approach with caution. You should explore which is your favorite learning style, I always recommend that my friends start with a short 10 minutes to 15 minutes video introduction on trading. The best was to find the one to watch is to simply look at the video with the most views it means the speaker knows their onus. From there you can get a general idea of the direction to take whether it be through books, online course, YouTube videos, etc.

730  Economy / Economics / Re: I cannot go home if I don't make a lot of money now!! on: July 05, 2023, 07:31:45 PM
tell me anything i need to do to make a lot of money. doesn't matter what, i would do anything to get all the money, even if it mean unlawful and unethical!
I will tell you what you need to do to make a lot of money and it is lawful and ethical. Since I do not know what your level of education is, I would assume that you have a diploma. You need to increase your sources of income through upskilling. You may choose to go into tech where you are sure to be paid $50k - $70k for entry level positions. You could also try digital marketing, or maybe consider learning crypto or forex trading whichever appeals to you the most. If you have some cash, buy some credit card machines, take it to a restaurant or a coffee shop and whenever people pay through the machine using their card you get some commission. There is just so much you can do to make clean cash.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: July 05, 2023, 06:31:07 PM
How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.
My parents have only one time told me that if I were married, I would not spend so much time gambling rather I would use that time to bond with my wife and kids. It was funny but looking back now I can see some sense and truth in what they said. Because I was unmarried then my idea times were either spent at the bookies or in some online casino. If your spouse, family or friend has to talk to you about your gambling habit, then it means that you should take it seriously and do not brush it off with some excuses. They know you better than you think they do.
732  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When You trade Do You use VPN? on: July 05, 2023, 06:16:32 PM
VPN won't help you much trust me, if the security agencies of your nation wanna find you; VPNs can't do much.

I sincerely think that running a dedicated tor node for the purpose will be better than spending money on VPNs.

Yea, VPN doesn't do anything. Anyone who has a little knowledge about Cybersecurity will know that a VPN is almost as good as useless. Doesn't do you any much good. And never combine Tor and VPN. If you are in a country where cryto trading is illegal, please do not break the law by trying to trade just obey the law. It is only a person who has freedom that can trade, buy or sell cryptocurrencies.
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold the altcoins and invested in Bitcoin" on: July 05, 2023, 05:50:48 PM
Investing in bitcoin is both a smart choice and a good investment. Bitcoin is good we all love it. Despite this you should also keep in mind that there are other altcoins that are performing almost as good as bitcoin is. Your investment portfolio should have at least 80 or 90 percent bitcoin and the remainder in some good performing altcoin.

By the time you read this, you must have seen some user comments suggesting that offline wallets like Electrum are safer for storing bitcoins than internet wallets. I highly recommend that you abide by it to the letter.

735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 02, 2023, 01:00:42 PM
There is absolutely no possible way that Al-Nassr could bring in Bernardo Silva, you must be crazy to think that it would be possible. Even with 100-200 million contracts you can't bring him. That dude was one of the core players of a team that did the treble, do you know how rare making a treble is?
Bernardo silva may reject nassr's offer. Nassr was moving to him caused by silva rumored to leave from manchester city with free agent. he has been also excluded from the future squad from pepe guardiola.
Some teams were approaching him include nasser from saudi. That depends on silva's decision. If he is still wanna playing in european competitions and that will be impossible to get him.
The Saudis are spending the most to get the players they want. Their financial compensation is something that most players can hardly reject because it is like the highest, they would have received in the whole of their football career. It would definitely put them in a dilemma as to whether they should not do it for the love of the sports or do it for the money. Will he go where the money is or stay as a free agent? I wouldn't judge him if he leaves for Saudi since he is no longer needed in Manchester City.
736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Not your key not your wallet on: July 02, 2023, 12:43:27 PM
Your keys, your bitcoin. Noy your keys, not your bitcoin. I think that at this point, the only people who would not get this are those who are new to cryptocurrency. However, there are still oldies who do not adhere to this simple rule because they are inherently lazy even when it comes to their own accumulated wealth. You just can't expect them to adopt bitcoin and expect them to take on the responsibility of securing their personal wealth by themselves on a cold paper wallet and storing that wallet somewhere. They prefer the easy and risky way of letting centralized exchanges do it for them.
737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Less than 300 days left to halving - price predictions for The Day? on: July 02, 2023, 10:02:17 AM
How much do you think BTC will be on the Halving day?
There is a lot of anxiety right now. A lot of people are worried that they would miss bitcoin at $200k but what they do not know is that from all indications it doesn't seem that bitcoin will go to six-figures. The value of Bitcoin at the next halving could be around $40,000 to $50,000.
738  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: July 02, 2023, 09:34:32 AM
Can I start mining with $300 and grow from there?
You can or cannot start your mining with $300. It depends on the equipment and tools you have on ground. First if you do not have a computer with a powerful GPU such as Alienware or GeForce or any of those gaming PC then you need to buy one. The average price for one is within $700 for a new one and $400 for a used one the last time I checked. If you do then, you are half way there -  the next thing is do you have electricity or better still you may need to look towards alternative sources of energy to power you mining operations. I know you are starting small so you do not need anything elaborate. You may need to build a 5500kw battery bank off of one 360w solar panel that can power your apartment. The estimated cost for this is about $1200 on my equipment. This would be a one-off thing and you wouldn't need to pay high electricity fee monthly. As you can see, the $300 is not enough to start up, you need to review your budget.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy bought more bitcoin on: July 02, 2023, 09:17:10 AM
I would be really shocked if at some point Microstrategy doesn't turn out to be a villain. For some reasons people feel the need to worship centralized entities  Undecided
It is obvious that they are very bullish. Micheal Saylor has been championing the bitcoin cause and has almost the same level of popularity as Satoshi Nakamoto. However, not everyone thinks highly of them. While folks in some quarters are praising him, some think they have some hidden agenda. I wouldn't blame the latter. I have heard, though unconfirmed that BlackRock, Vanguard, indirectly hold Bitcoin via MicroStrategy and we know what the people have said about BlackRock. Anyways, how far and how much does Microstrategy intend to go with bitcoin and how much bitcoin can they accumulate? Furthermore, how do they store they about $4.6billion worth of bitcoin? Cold storage?
740  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginners Should Follow These To Be A Good Price Predictor on: July 01, 2023, 11:48:45 PM
This tip isn't just for beginners alone. This are tips that should be continuous for anyone. Pro traders still follow some version of this to be sure that they make money.

The thing is that you find yourself going back to it because if you do not you will pay dearly for it.
