1341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: November 22, 2023, 02:53:17 AM
Many still like Tether no matter issues are being thrown on it. With the volume that it has, that only tells one thing and that means that it's being trusted by many. Or not being trusted but because of the volume, they choose to use it instead of any other stable coins.

Usdc, don't ask for reasons, I just do.
This is the other one that I use these days. I don't know why as well but maybe there's a magnet on it that makes me use it because I have always seen it being said by people.
For someone like me, I have always preferred USDT. I guess it's because this was a common cryptocurrency for payment a couple of years back. And it was my favorite not knowing the things that are possible with it. I have heard that they can freeze your funds (I didn't really know this) and that is disturbing because I don't want anyone having such power over my money. Additionally, I heard that their assets aren't completely backed up, etc. Maybe the USDC is indeed a better choice. Smiley

They indeed freeze assets, but it shouldn't be worry for normal users, even USDC freezes assets, so this is something that is similar to all centralized stable coins. Tether publishes transparency report [1] daily, so I'm unsure why they have suspicious status in category of stable coins. I'm gonna seek clarification from forum users.

1342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk forum a home of solution on: November 22, 2023, 02:47:29 AM
Otherwise, if you rely on the forum too much, your decisions will greatly depend on them which I think is already bad. Time comes when you face another problem and these people have already leave the forum, then how come you will solve your problem now.

I don't think it's about relying on particular users, you ask and if someone has something to say and that fits your criteria as solution then you heed it. Ofc, we shouldn't heed anyone blindly.

Also, this forum is one of places to get solution, Internet is vast, if solution is not found here, go elsewhere.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 22, 2023, 02:33:25 AM
I think even if India had scored 300+ runs it would not have been too difficult for Australia to win the match. Because they went on the field without the preparation that Australia will win the 2023 World Cup, where the Australian captain said they have the experience of how to play the World Cup. Although 300 plus runs would have been difficult for Australia to win but India could not make it.
I totally disagree with your statement because if India scored 300 plus then it will be like impossible for any team to chased such high target under pressure of final and some magnificent bowling of you opponent trio, no doubt Australian has good history in ICC ODI World Cup and they always done decent in last stages of World Cup but they way indian bowling get rythm through out the tournament and performing majestic performance will make really difficult for Australian to cross such high target on thier home ground. Anyway the unfortunate dismissal of Virat Kohli really change entire things for india because when he lose his wickets entire Indian team lose his confidence and Thier body language indicate that they already lose match before it actually come to end.

This exactly. Kohli's is like knot that holds the team together, I have seen someone argue here before that Kohli's SR was low and he was playing for personal milestones, I consider it incorrect, had Kohli been on crease for long while in finale we could have seen India easily score 300+ runs, and Rahul would not have played under pressure as he did.

@Bitcoin_people I don't think Australia would have been able to chase has score been 300+, India's bowling is destructive, with low score bowlers were under pressure too and it took away their freedom, we already saw Shami replacing Siraj.

There were no slip for spinners either (they were there momentarily then removed soon after), had they been there India could have gotten Travis Head early (two catches were in vain due to not having slips), then even this target would have been difficult chase for Aussies.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 21, 2023, 12:34:09 PM
Ok, so India has T20I series coming up against Australia starting Nov 23, Indian squad has all new faces, players who we have seen doing good in IPL games. Below is squad copied from Twitter.

Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (vice-captain), Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar

Shreyas Iyer will join the squad as vice-captain for the last two T20Is in Raipur and Bengaluru.

A different team has been announced for the upcoming T20I series against Australia and India. Only two to three from the ODI World Cup squad have made it to the series. There is no senior player in the team. Earlier in various domestic leagues, Suryakumar Yadav is going to lead India from the front for the first time in his international career, and Ruturaj Gaikwad is approaching as co-captain. Both the teams have just finished the World Cup and organizing the T20 series in a short span is a bit of a sight for the experts. It remains to be seen how optimistic India is in the T20 series against Australia with this youthful team. Meanwhile, their first T20 is going to start on Thursday.

I don't think it's about making it to such series or about winning, I think they are there so youngsters can prove themselves and have their place in big tournaments. We should see players who do good here in t20 wc.

Same is case with Australian squad as well, although they have more veteran players compared to Indian side, but most are not from wc squad.

Virat Kohli is still the World Best Batsman but I don't know why the Indian Media is criticizing him even he had made more runs in this World Cup.

Indian commercial media is trash, you should not expect logic here. You are better of ignorant about world affairs than to stay updated through them.

Quote
As saddened for most of the team as most of the cricketers retired in this world cup and they will not play the international cricket.

I think no one has announced retirement yet, have they?
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: November 21, 2023, 07:00:17 AM
I was using Coinomi for more than a decade, however, recently it started to have loading problems even on 5G network so had to make switch. Was looking at moon wallet but it didn't allow restore with seed phrase so installed blue wallet instead.
1347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What’s your portfolio building strategy for crypto? on: November 21, 2023, 06:52:00 AM
I have done few things for my crypto portfolio 1) I wrote articles on Hive, you do social media stuff and earn crypto Hive, have played p2e games on it and made profit, it could also go other way and may incur loss, thankfully it didn't. 2) I long coins when I feel there is blood bath and market has more potential to go up than down. 3) I hunt for potential projects that may do retrospective airdrop, although nowadays I feel burnt out to do this, but it worked out well when I had motivation and projects weren't using airdrop term to lure people.
1348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would someone want to buy an old empty ethereum address? on: November 21, 2023, 06:32:40 AM
I'd forego the benefit of the doubt, it's most likely going to be used for a scam. They're most likely going to use past transactions as a method to showcase how "trustworthy" they are or something along those lines. There might be some non-damaging ones like the others have said with airdrops and whatnot, but eh, I'd much rather err than give someone access to capabilities to scam others. Seeing as there's a lot of people who has recently seen stuff like this, there might just be an event/airdrop that's going to happen somewhere with a new unknown project though.

i also have this feeling. i tried showing what my old wallet is worth, it got no use for me. he only offered $100 but was hesitant to do it because this is gotta be too good to be true. the wallet is empty and only few transactions i did there on some dex that is already dead.

May be there could be airdrops that you are eligible of but are unaware. Try putting your address on earnifi [1] and earndrop [2] and see if you are eligible for anything.

If you don't see anything, then I'd be puzzled myself as well.

1349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon and PolygonZKEVM speculation on: November 21, 2023, 06:25:06 AM
I am very disappointed with all these Ethereum killers and L2 because they have been unable to dethrone Ethereum, the fees on Ethereum is still quite high, but users still prefer it, there must be a reason for this, any project that dethrone Ethereum is the next big thing

Major l2s arbitrum, optimism, base, polygon zkevm, etc settle transactions on ethereum mainnet only but they verify transactions with their own varied validation techniques, batch together before settling on ethereum, so they are not different from ethereum.
1350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 21, 2023, 03:03:57 AM
First one didn't matter much anyway, because Warner was out soon after. There were other two when spinners were bowling both from Travis Head, one from Kuldeep in his 22th over and another from Jadeja in 24th, you can watch highlights too.

Regarding KL Rahul, he seemed under pressure, during batting and during keeping as well.

KL Rahul's form was one of the negatives for the Indian team throughout the tournament. I am not sure when Rishabh Pant will be back in action. As soon as Rishabh is able to join the team, Rahul needs to be kicked out. In case Rishabh's recovery takes another 5-6 months, then the Indian selectors need to look at other options. And Sanju Samson is not a suitable replacement. A lot of chances were given to him, and he wasted each of them. KS Bharat or Anuj Rawat maybe a better replacement for KL Rahul at this point, in my opinion.

Throughout tournament? He made fastest Indian hundred, and in one games he had good judgement about caught behind where other mates were unsure of, took DRS and he was right. In keeping he was excellent too (except Finale), several great catches.

Thank you @Gladitorcomeback for organising such a fun contest in this forum. Manually calculating everything correctly most of the time by yourself and a couple of others along with free entry to the pool is applause worthy.

I had fun experimenting with different kinds of predictions and I do hope there are more of these cricket related contests within this forum in the future.

Thanks for appreciation, Manually doing for first time is little bit hard but after some times it's looking so easy. You are part of early supporter but unfortunately your One time prediction was not enough correct to qualify for atleast top 10. I hope ,In future we will manage new contest and I would be happy to see all previous member there.

1353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana Breaking the Internet Again! on: November 21, 2023, 01:41:02 AM
I don't vibe airdrop, they are just impressing the chain and marketing the chain to people to buy the coin(Solana), the moment the event end, the will sell off the coin and airdrop tokens and investors will be left with nothing. Check Bonk, the market cap and the traded volume, you will see that airdrop tokens all have similar pattern, at first they get hype up and in the end they remain flacid like weak tissues.

Instead of buying Solana in anticipation of been selected, why not use the money to buy other coins, remember that their is going to be a lot of farmers that will use bot to get the tokens any how and the chance of you getting the token might even reduce when they use anti bots to weed out other people, be careful of airdrops my friend.

Pyth's was restrospective airdrop, if you got it, you got it. You didn't have to do anything. Also, I don't think this airdrop has got to do something with promoting solana, it's just token built on solana.

Sol getting to $100k is inevitable if this airdrop keeps coming like this

$SOL is about $60 right now, you want $100k!??? If airdrops were to pump coin, ethereum would have already reached $100k.

Or you could have made typo.

Lmoreover there are other airdrops like jupiter if im not mistaken that still a rumour but definitely gonna be making an airdrop in my opinion.

Jupiter is confirmed, but it's simple airdrop with every wallet that interacted with it is eligible, so might not be worth as good but who knows.
1354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pyth network retrospective airdrop eligibility checker live on: November 21, 2023, 01:05:41 AM
I checked again and claimed today, I have been allocated more pyth than before the increase.

I have being trying to access the airdrop page but keep getting this Error 451: unavailable for legal Reasons but my country is not part of the countries excluded from the list.

Use vpn? I see many people giving up claiming airdrops because their countries were excluded. I don't think dapps can know through wallet address where is it's creator from. So yea, use vpn.

1355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some traps to avoid in bullrun. on: November 21, 2023, 12:46:44 AM
Thinking that coin will keep going up is the biggest bull run traps I have seen so far, despite being aware of it I keep holding lol. This time I have done preparation to sell. I MUST!
Is that really a trap? That the coins will keep going up…
I don’t have that impression but even if I could, what are the chances that you could have edged against that to save profit by withdrawals or swapping for a stable coin?

Yea well, that's what I plan to do this time.

Quote
All of these come at some risk as firstly, stablecoins aren’t exactly trusted neither is having your coins (Bitcoin) in huge amounts on exchanges and to archive these, you need your coin on an exchange which is very much centralized.

I have got hardware wallet, I hold my stuff there, I don't hold on exchanges.

Quote
You could just hold and keep holding no matter the market condition.

That works with BTC and may be few more prominents cryptos such as Ether, I would not recommends forever holding alts.
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 21, 2023, 12:41:34 AM
Tomorrow alone can be said to be India's bad luck as multiple missed catches at slip and inviting India to bat after winning the toss can be considered as secondary reasons for India's defeat. Yesterday took a lot of ball turn in the first innings but in the second innings the ball did not slow down due to the extra duty. Here Australia got an added advantage and Australia's Travis Head's missed catch was one of the main reasons behind India's defeat. However, the Indian supporters were completely deprived of the joy of this title.
India didn't actually miss the catch yesterday but first the ball was boundary between the two slip fielders and the fielders had nothing to do because the ball was out of bounds before the fielders knew anything. Despite not missing a catch, KL Rahul had some poor wicket-keeping yesterday and failed to capture several balls with the gloves. After winning the World Cup, the Australian captain said in the press conference that the toss was a very important thing for them because they knew that this wicket would be a bit first at night and it would be a bit easier to bat on this wicket at night. Australia wanted to bat in the second innings and they batted in the second innings. Australia beat India yesterday for two players who were not supposed to be in this World Cup tournament. A win like this will undoubtedly be one to remember for Australia at the end of the year.

First one didn't matter much anyway, because Warner was out soon after. There were other two when spinners were bowling both from Travis Head, one from Kuldeep in his 22th over and another from Jadeja in 24th, you can watch highlights too.

@Gladitorcomeback, Is this the score tie at number 3 and 4 or just decided as 3 and 4. I see the numbers are same but not highlighted so I am not sure I made it to top 3 or not. One time prediction made hell a lot of difference at the end and I am really depressed right now after watching the whole tournaments that India is favorite to win this trophy but again Aussies nailed us in the coffins as they said.

I assume it is so because prior to last game I had better position in ranking. Check here.

You should go to Google for things that can be already found there, and become professional yourself too  Tongue

I'd personally suggest Reddit, just add Reddit to whatever term you wanna know meaning of. In my experience, individuals usually explain better than websites/blogs.

The toss was an important factor, if and only if India had won the toss the outcome would be different yesterday. Next year we will be watching the T20WC and I hope India wins under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.

During toss Rohit was asked what would have he chose if he had won the toss and he replied to bat first. So, I mean result would have been still the same even if India had won the toss.
