1341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you really think about trading bots? on: January 07, 2023, 03:34:13 AM
What do you think about trading bots in general?
I have never tried it. Once I attempted to set it up on Binance but changed my mind.
They say I should just keep up to date with the happenings, then do some settings and I could go on vacation knowing that the bots will make me money. Hell no. Maybe I am not too comfortable yet with letting a bit make trading decisions for me. I am yet to be convinced that they can make as much money as human traders can.
But to think of it, do they make losses too?
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If Luck Was Measured In Percentage, Rate Your Luck In 2022 From 0-100 on: January 07, 2023, 03:15:59 AM
I gambled heavily but responsibly towards the last quarter of the year largely because of the World Cup. At the beginning of tournament, I lost some money to the underdogs- especially when I thought Argentina was going win Saudi Arabia and so on.
But then as I began to understand the games better, my winning started to increase.
If I should measure my luck percentage for 2022, I would give myself a 10%.
I am still putting a plan in place for 2023.
1343  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 07, 2023, 03:07:55 AM
I wonder, especially in other countries, how drastic is the change in your daily life that's brought about by this economic downturn?
It takes guts to survive these times. So many people are suffering and struggling. The stress and strain it causes in family relationships shouldn't be overlooked.
Someone who was recently affected by the downsizing in his company has turned to alcohol to ease the pain as he has to deal with a nagging partner each day supplies in the home depletes with little or no hope to restock. He has taken to doing odd jobs just to make ends meet. Yet the jobs are nor regular. I hope this ends soon.
1344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: January 07, 2023, 03:00:38 AM
Yes.
I tell my partner everything. And just like me, she is a crypto supporter. So I have no qualms with telling her about my seed phrase or where I have stored it.
We discuss these things almost every day at the dinner table and it feels great knowing that should anything happen to me my assets will not be lost forever. On the other hand, if you have a spouse who doesn't care about bitcoin be patient with them and teach them. Do not reveal to them your seed phrase for it will be unwise to do so.

1346  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready to spend crypto when market is down on: January 06, 2023, 07:10:11 AM
If one doesn't spend their crypto for purchases and wait for to spend their crypto when its price is nice, are they really considering it as a cryptocurrency or can we assume like those people are treating more like a security or investment instrument?
I am a long-term holder and I also spend bitcoin in places where it is accepted.
I see nothing wrong in treating it both as a currency and a security investment. It shouldn't be one or the other. It should be one and the other. That is what keeps it going. It is part of the dream of Satoshi to create something that wouldn't need an intermediary for transactions.

FOOTBALL INJURY UPDATE

Ahead of schedule! Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is already off crutches and showing promising progress ramping up his rehab in the gym in a boost to Mikel Arteta... less than four weeks after knee surgery ended his World Cup

To give the Arsenal supporters like me some reassuring news and hope about the return of our striker, he can now walk around with crutches, we may get to see him play again sooner than expected.

With the series of tough games Arsenal will play soon, I hope no other of our players get injured.

Yes, I am excited for Arsenal fans regarding this update. Soon enough they will get to see one of their favourite players back in action.
This soon enough is me thinking sometime in March. Despite this news, Gabriel Jesus rushed back into the field of play until he is fit.
He is going to be back stronger and dangerous.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 06, 2023, 06:52:41 AM
Chelsea have major issues. Firstly, a manager who is out of his depth, no decent striker,  an owner who is an absolute liability with the signings he is making. Honestly they’ll  face several years in the doldrums. Even at that Chelsea had a good game, but there's too much injury in the team. Manchester city's team wasn't incredible as I expected but had a lucky win.
Chelsea didn't play so bad. The thing I saw is that a lot of their balls were not on target.
I think they held Man City good. It was the substitutes that were able to create chances and score. The problem with Chelsea is that their good players are injured, and it is affecting their performance.
I hope Chelsea is able to redeem themselves in the match with City again in the coming days.
Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez were awesome in the match.
1349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: age 47 is it too late or not to invest in bitcoin.? on: January 06, 2023, 06:39:22 AM
to ask about me, who is old, is it worth investing in bitcoin or not?

You are not old. It is not too late. As a matter of fact, you are early.
See, a lot of people say that age is just a number, and you can still unlearn the old beliefs of what you know about how the old financial system and learn how the new decentralized financial system works. How it is freedom for the people.
How it makes people their own banks and be in charge of their own money. I do not know how old your kid is right now but if he/she is already a teenager, start to let them in on what you are learning about bitcoin.

This is sad. Most people I know who started their crypto journey without any guide either got scammed or had a close call will crypto scammers.
So, I also already armed with most of the technique's scammers use and their scams before I bought my first bitcoin. This was because my friends who were victims of scammers already filled my ears with ordeal.
I am here on bitcointalk forum because it is good to be a part of a community and there are so many benefits attached to it. Aside from being very busy, this forum is my go-to website for the latest and most concrete gist in the crypto space.
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 05, 2023, 04:18:03 PM
Today game will be a surprise game to those that predicted for the favour of Manchester city because, Chelsea will play this game with all their strength and energy to ensure they beat Manchester city 1:0. if Chelsea play this game well, there will be victory at the end of the game because, Manchester city are getting weak in the area of midfield which will be one of the advantage Chelsea players will use to beat Manchester city to reduce their points.
I am worried for Chelsea because it is almost as if we already know how the game will end. Now that Kante and Reece are missing a bigger worry for them will be with dealing with superstar Erling Haaland.
If peradventure they lose today, Potter, Chelsea's manager should be ready to face a lot of backlashes from the fans on top of what the club is already going through. Well, I predict over 2.5 goals in this match.

1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 05, 2023, 04:11:46 PM
Liverpool is surely struggling in this season and having not near the Real Madrid for the match but as we know Champions League is completely different league with having too many unpredictable results and unknown winners things can change here for the Liverpool as well because they are doing good job and trying to have strong strategy which helps them for having better consistency in results Jürgen Klopp is also having good chemistry about this all hopefully they will be able to have their winning combination.
You know Liverpool played so well last season nobody that no one really noticed the midfield's problems, but now that everything is falling apart, Liverpool have no alternative but to pour money into the team.
They need at least two midfielders. Keita is good but is injury prone. It is really tough for Klopp this season I just hope that he can still do something about his formation.
But first he must be willing to invest in good players to be the best.
1353  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: January 05, 2023, 03:57:43 PM
Nah. I do not think so. Some things in trading requires more than calculations. It requires gut, instinct and conviction.
Do intelligent machines have these? I guess not. Infact, I feel that the number of people who incorporate AI in their trading are very few. I also feel that most veteran traders will not be comfortable with artificial intelligence doing the trading for them.
1354  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mistakes Successful People Never Make Twice on: January 05, 2023, 03:49:29 PM
These are great points. Just to add, from observing successful people one can easily see that once you betray their trust, they will most likely cut you off forever and will never have anything to do with you again.
I have noticed that they like to give people the benefit of the doubt no matter what others may have said. Once the individual doesn't deliver on their promise or breaks their trust, it can never be regained. On the hand, once deliver and keep to your word you gain a level of respect from them. And then they will let you in on a lot of things.
1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: January 05, 2023, 03:42:03 PM
If the adoption of bitcoin in El Salvador continues without obstacles, there is a possibility that this could happen.
but el Salvador is still just adopting bitcoin, surely there are still many deficiencies that must be fixed in the government system.
el Salvador could prosper on bitcoins in eight years, but on condition that everything goes smoothly, especially from a social point of view,
if all the people have supported the adoption of bitcoin, there will definitely be significant progress.
I concur. Bitcoin has the potential, yet this is dependent on a lot of other factors. But I do not see it happening in the next 4 years. The country has taken the first step by adopting bitcoin yet, it doesn't stop there.
I believe the shift from poor to rich nation will happen when there is a massive adoption. During the time when we will see people use it to pay for goods and services without any restriction. And as people become more dependent on Bitcoin, fiat of whatever denomination will lose it's dominance.
So, yes. El Salvador will be rich off of bitcoin but not so soon.

1358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: January 04, 2023, 10:23:49 PM
My advice to traders that are losing is to still continue to trade, but using just 20% while 80% should go into holding. What do you people think about this? Out of 100% fund, what percentage can you advice a trader to use?
Newbie traders shouldn't even start trading with real crypto. They should first master the demo and then when they feel confident enough should consider using 5% of their funds to test the water.
Therefore, 95% of their funds should go into holding.
One mistake they do is revenge trading and when they give in to this, they go beyond 5% funds and end up using up to 15% -20% resulting in terrible losses.
1359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 04, 2023, 10:07:14 PM
Revenge trading is akin to revenge gambling. And I think that people who fall victims of this are newbies.
Maybe it is the get-rich-quick syndrome at romances them into thinking that they jump in again after a loss without any tactics or trading strategy and think that they will win.
I have been cautioned several times about this, that the moment I feel the urge to jump back in after a loss is the moment, I should take a break.
1360  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: January 04, 2023, 02:32:20 AM
Smart people will always invest the money. Depositing money means losing it. Don't misunderstand me; only a very small portion of it will be deposited for exigences.
Then, in addition to purchasing some bitcoins, diversifying your investments will be a wise choice. Personally, I would invest some of the funds in stock market investments and some in real estate.
Since I am a big believer in long term hodling, I'll probably leave the 6 Bitcoins for the 7 -8 years.
