Funny, you can look at any of the genuinely bad coins that have come out in the last year and see that the level and intensity of hate directed at them is insignificant in comparison to what you see here.

Listen to the haters, they know this coin is going to be great.

If it wasn't they wouldn't care.

And you made you account just to say that , right?  No shilling whatsoever!

With this "withdrawals in the air" situation, it so easy for someone to inside trade. Scoop cheap coins, then announce that it works again. 99% sure someone will capitalize on this.

No way , would somebody running a collapsing exchanger , full of troubles , thinking of such scheme? Wink

13685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: February 13, 2014, 04:09:30 PM
Solarcoin is what I have been waiting for. Too many copycoins out there that have very little purpose or innovation. I think that once the community embraces this coin (after people research the coin and do not just jump to conclusions after reading the premine code) this coin will take off.

All I can say is, I hope the devs of this coin are legitimate. Since this coin has a centralized aspect the Devs have to be silent? I've only seen Nick step up and say he is a "volunteer". I see that he is only accepting donations for his time on the Solarcoin website.

Nick, what do we know about the Devs of this coin? Who is on the board that controls the majority of these coins? I'm probably missing this information so please forgive me if it's right in front of my face.

One of them is some kind of economist who wrote some sort of paper about reward systems for solar energy generation, but found that it wasn't feasible until crypto-currencies came along. From what I gather, the devs for this coin and the organization behind them is LEGIT, and to consider coins made by random pump & dumpers on the internet with no functional value beyond any other crypto as legit and not this one is just plain silly.

I think some people are weirded out by this coin because of the aforementioned lack of engagement by the devs, but I can assure you that that is not for lack of work going on behind the scenes, and I take it to be a sign that these guys aren't in it to make a quick buck off the premine like so many others are.

I realize it's hard to take it at face value, but I have high hopes that we are going to see really big things from this coin. Sleeper-coin of 2014 in my book.

spot on! Ive done my research too, before i decided to mine this coin and I can only see promising things out of solarcoin.

Are you doing it with solar energy or not? You might ruin the coin if you mine it with nuclear power produced energy.
13686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin - PoW reward for solar energy | the GREEN KING of Crypto on: February 13, 2014, 04:08:30 PM
The Mining Pool: 105 Million SolarCoins (0.1%) to be publicly mined over the next 40 years. All publicly mined SolarCoins represent historically generated and unclaimed solar electricity.
The Generator Pool: 97.5 Billion SolarCoins (99.4%) are currently stored in the OCA non-circulating generation pool account.

This equals to 99.55 premine , right?

yep 99.5%

Holy moly,

Although i'm pretty sure nothing special will happen due to the block reward halving, it appears to be so that it will happen when i am a sleep! So i cannot monitor, hoping that when i wake up the price will be within the 300 - 310 range, that would be awesome!

10 hours to go lads

http://blockrewards.com/

Just my thoughts also.  The market has already moved to take into account the incoming block reward halving.

They'll be back as soon there is some green on the daily, shouting "CCMF".

I keep seeing this 'CCMF' and I still have no idea what it means.  Google suggests it is Community Concern for Mental Fragility, which seems about right.

I believe CCMF stands for "Check Cashing Mo Fo".  Someone that keeps making money doing the same thing over and over.

i still dont know how people trust cryptsy. Slow manipulated transactions, random vanishing of your money. If a bank would just randomly freeze your money when you wanted to take it out or whatever, im pretty sure NO ONE would stay with them. I used cryptsy for about 2 days and immediately searched for a faster more honest exchange (Vircurex). Transactions are fast and my money doesn't get stuck in limbo when the market moves.

I advise everyone to STAY CLEAR of Cryptsy!!!!!

Compare the volume and the order book depth and you'll understand why people use Cryptsy.

Yeah , I heard that NSA was trying to mine this with 250 billions cores but didn't manage to find any block.
13693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 13, 2014, 03:09:31 PM

I didn't say that the price should be controlled, I told that the marker should have been smarter. There is a difference.

So who the fuck was supposed to sell at the bottom to make this smart transition and how would that be smart? What an asshole!  It should go down more so it can go up more, right? I guess you are whining that you didn't get enough of an opportunity to prey on panic sellers.

The market is the market, douchenozzle. That's like saying the weather should be smarter. It's not even coherent enough to be wrong.

Slowest people should sell at the bottom, like always. It will also be like this right now, but the process will take a lot longer then needed.
I think that it is healthy to tell the market about their mistakes and how they were stupid. As I said, this market needs some criticism to bring people back to reality.

If everybody would be selling at the top and buying at the bottom , there would not be any bottom or tops.
13694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 13, 2014, 03:07:11 PM
There is a Bitcoin future in China, whether the government bans it or not. The fact that it's useful for evading capital controls and other State restrictions guarantees it.

Is it?  Basically the only way to convert Yuan to/from Bitcoin now is through a Chinese bank.  Both the bank and the exchange will want your ID.

What do you mean exactly by "evading capital controls and State restrictions"?

There are many miners in China. The Chinese could buy or trade from them even if all the exchanges closed. One could buy from anyone in China who holds bitcoin and was willing to sell. Communist countries have always had black markets.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_control

The laws of economics cannot be repealed by legislative fiat. You could sooner repeal the Law of Gravity.

Chinese may have a Communist government, but it's mainly so in name only. When it comes to the sensibilities of economics, they take a far more liberal stance, than most "democracies".

They just did that a few month ago , didn't they?

It's unlikely this will make it to Cryptsy. Usually Cryptsy adds coins with significant volume on other exchanges. Teacoin literally has no volume.
Dead in the water imo, especially if people are willing to lie in order to sell, that's a bad sign.

http://coinmarketcap.com/volume.html#tea
Less than $6,000 traded. There are coins with $50,000 traded that still haven't been added either. Get in line.

What we had about 150btc worth of trades over 4 days not so long ago...
BTC has gone down causing all coins to fall once the bad news is over and BTC rises things will look up

Teacoin unlike alot of pump and dump coins, had no premine and actually has a real life purpose that'll be the difference in the end

What is that magic purpose and how are you sure any other coin can't achieve it?
13697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Frycoin][FRY] - Shut up and take my money! New wallet update on: February 13, 2014, 02:58:54 PM
P.s: ANY comments on this ? [lol] :
the target block generation time is 30secs instead of 120 !!  Cheesy

The actual specs of this coin are quite different from what is in the OP. Yes there is a 30s block time, but with a reward halving every 16666 blocks it's going to be pretty darn hard to mine fairly soon even with a 4x faster generation rate. It also means there will be a lot more total blocks (or a lot less total coins, depending on which one is wrong)

Will block time be corrected to 120s?

If not I have no intention of keeping any of those coins and will dump all I own before sunday.

Shut up and dump all your coins.

13699  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzi.io - Fast, Guaranteed 120% Payouts on: February 13, 2014, 02:53:51 PM
I hacked up quick script, got all transactions for this ponzi (addresses 1ponziUjuCVdB167ZmTWH48AURW1vE64q, 14ji9KmegNHhTchf4ftkt3J1ywmijGjd6M) and created spreadsheet with data about all participants.

You can view spreadsheet here from Google Drive and also in MS Excel format

In total there were 1023 participants from who 547 won some BTC, 6 got back what they sent and 510 lost what they sent.
Biggest amount sent from single entity (1CR27qMW8ok7xitLUuM2gCau3PJpACRdPM) was 16.4 BTC and got back only 12.48 BTC Cheesy
Biggest absolute profit was 2.24 BTC (38% more than sent) for 1LE9MmczTAuStbHUvB4YwnVnGb3makL8aB
And biggest relative profit was for 1DLidBuq9ac7xeYtBW7vLF1kE3o6p7SGTZ who sent 0.003 BTC and got net profit 0.5698 BTC (that's 18993%)
Biggest loss was for18eNdoK2BThisidjkGSQX6hrHH1JSrwcKk who lost 6.88 BTC

There's more interesting data so check it out Wink

Overall seems this was scam from first day as it didn't payed out in order and skipped some transactions no matter what amount was big or small. Also even for those who received, some got more than they should and others less. That's not how Ponzi works.

Ponzi.io owner 1HT7xU2Ngenf7D4yocz2SAcnNLW7rK8d4E sent himself only 0.0237 BTC, so he probably played it himself under some other addresses.

It's such a shame that it was scam, rather than being actual Ponzi scheme, it really could grow quite big with such good name, but I guess it was more important for owner to get some quick coins. I doubt that all next ponzi's will be any successful because of this scam. Proper Ponzi (where owner is honest) should only end when there's no more new people and pay in order.

No offense, but you thought otherwise before checking all this data?
