We need more core devs. Exactly this. A big project like NXT should at least have 5 active core developers for the next months. Hoarders should pay up if they want their NXT to become worth anything. Don't we have unclaimed funds for this? To say that Hoarders should pay up isn't productive. We need a budget, list of developers, timeline, etc.. Perhaps you can organize this Uniqueron? If someone gets this on the move, shows organization, has a well thought budget, has candidates that are well vouched for with good credentials... see the work that needs to be done? You can't just say "show me the money!" With that said, there should be a team dedicated to hunting talent. I'd pony up some Nxt if this looked like it was a serious organized effort and good talent was brought in. Having a solid core team is crucial. If Nxt becomes gets more popular, it will be easier to attract new developers. Either that, or we can add some of the people involved in writing clients (like wesley) to the core team. The developers must be trusted. |

I repeat my question regarding coming nexern client: will it be one click software? If yes, maybe it is better to wait for it and then promote or not it as main client software for NXT. Of course, if it'll come after months, then this is another story.

he also assumes that a sizable portion of the population from 0 to 90 will actually get their coins.. and know what to do with them. which I actually doubt. The supply will increase for sure. but not as much as some people are flipping about, and not as fast, and a large number of people wont know what to do with them.. and then their is that little part of level 3 of the supply drop, where he destroys the left over coins no one claimed, which automatically reduces total supply. There actually probably will be a sizable number of coins destroyed.

If this goes ahead, somebody will set up a business where they sort your coins out then dump them on your behalf. People only want cash, nothing else. BTC may pump slightly as a result of all the people trying to turn AUR into cash, This is doomed. I'm not sure if people in this thread honestly do not see the crash coming? Or if they're just trying to pump up the price and sell before the market is flooded with 100x the supply of AUR. You are not giving us new information. All of us know about it. 25th is far away, and even then it will take months before even 10% of the icelander claim their coins. And how many of that 10% would know to sell them on exchanges? Probably around 1% of that 10% .. that's like 0.1% percentage. It will take an year or more to distribute the coins to 50% of icelanders (if 50% is ever reached. I doubt it will). No, 10 million coins are not "flooding" exchanges on 25th. It will be a miracle if even 0.1 of that 10 million gets on cryptsy on 26th. Wow what I said above makes far more sense than even I realized., I don't think prices are going to crash on 25th (they might but will recover in couple of days). I will hold at least 50% of my coins past 25th Yes, there is no way you can distribute coins to 10% pf population in one day -- even 10 months it will be hard. And it's doubtful all these new people would know how to sell them on exchanges. I think it's possible the prices would skyrocket a couple of days after 25th. |

The Auroracoin project got me thinking about the idea of making an individual cryptocurrency for every nation on earth, maybe taking into consideration the pop of each country. That would seriously revolutionize the world, it would change everything, turn the world upside down.
It's not going to work for "every" country. You need a very secure national ID system. Iceland has that and it has small population. If you try it with say India or Sudan, there is no way you can distribute the coins without people scamming you with multiple IDs. You won't even be able verify if they have the right nationality. So you're telling me all I need to do to make a ton of money is: - Create a clone coin.
- Set it to low reward/high difficulty.
- Premine the majority of it and keep those coins out of circulation (and make up a good reason for premining so many to avoid negativity).
- Get the coin onto an exchange/CoinMarketCap.
- Let people gawk over the value (due to the fact there are so many coins in existence but not in circulation, therefor locking in that higher price due to the inability for the public to dump it).
- Coin price will skyrocket due to the stable high price and huge market cap (due to all the premined coins).
Who knew it was so easy? I'd be willing to bet we'll see a few more coins do this before people catch on. Maybe I should get into coin development... Yes, I do believe exactly that happened here. There is no guarantee it will happen every time though. There is still a good chance (if people involved are honest) to make it a successful landmark in cryptocurrency history by not messing up the "air drop". |

Nxt is too difficult to setup. As of February, I have to somewhat agree with them. Although I have had the NRS since it's inception, it becomes a bit more difficult each time to setup each update. I have always run via SSL, but since 8.0 (I think) this was dropped by default and there is a process to go through to get it working. I know we are moving towards actual clients at some point, however, as it stands today, it is very difficult to setup the NRS for a beginner. I know this to be true, since I have given some Nxt away to colleagues and all have had their issues setting up. Not to mention, even after getting it to work successfully, the amount of errors that appear in the cmd window would scare any new comer away.
To new users just advertise and put on several sites (like nxtcrypto.org) marcus03's client. It doesn't require Java and NRS. It should be pretty easy to use for anyone. |

Arurra is good example of how human behave. When they see big "+" on coinmarket they buy even more.
This is something that Nxt users should keep in mind. keeping prices low or negative deliberately doesn't mean people are going to buy more. They buy it when prices are way up in last 24 hours.

Anyone who doesn't see this as the biggest pump ever has their rose colored glasses on. Those buy and sell walls have been thinner than a feed the children campaign posterchild.
Where are the tears? I just hope the price will stabilize (either be it $0.5 or $50) before the airdrop. That would smooth out everything. Its already down below 0.08btc each so yeah this is 50% since then and crashing hard. Cryptsys charts are hella slow I think people do not notice as quickly how bad its going down. It's not going anywhere as long as only 98000 coins are available. No one has big stocks to crash the prices. 10.5 million are still siting in the "airdrop" addresses. Not enough coins to crash prices. This thing is going up Yesterday I said $100 by March 25th,. but looks like that was underestimate. Where would it be from a week from now? Could be between $300 to $600 If it gets more media attention and backed by a decent percentage of Icelandic people before the airdrop, $300-$1200 To crash prices one single person (or a group of them) need to dump 20,000 AUR ... but since there are only 98,000 I don't see how it's going to crash anytime soon. |
