1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: January 07, 2012, 04:12:20 PM
lol

yeah I figured that out at the same time you did

my pool thought it was a mined block but it was a receive transaction

the difficulty is crazy high right now for devcoin, it will be awhile to get to 25000 now, so close but so far away

lol
1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: January 07, 2012, 03:59:04 PM
but they are legit transactions

I have verified them on two seperate block explorers , one of which has no connection to my servers or me at all
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: January 07, 2012, 03:56:10 PM
wait a min these might be legit

http://devcoinblockexplorer.info:2750/tx/b0ce3c4a0dbaee4912ccfcfa116dc1bf9953832c1d041790b8500233203a839e

says appeared in block 24977

now I purposely used devcoinblockexplorer.info instead of explorer.devcoin.org because the devcoin.org one uses the same devcoin as the pool does
so I wanted to make sure

according to the explorers they are legit right?
1404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: January 07, 2012, 03:52:36 PM

Bitcoin, Namecoin, Devcoin Merged Mining is coming Today

You can mine them starting at block 25000 at http://pool.devcoin.org

The Devcoin developers have set the "switch block" at block 25000, at that time we will be rebooting our pool with a new config that will allow our pool to attach to the Devcoind, Bitcoind and Namecoind that are already running on our server in wait.

If you have not upgraded your Devcoin daemon please do so! Download source and binaries can be found at http://www.devcoin.org and click the 'Download' tab.

If you do not wish to use the Devcoin daemon you can always setup an account at vircurex.com and use that as an online Devcoin wallet.

IMO we can't operate like that. I have been and am still working on achieving peace with Luke-JR and I can tell you for what its worth he is looking at Devcoin in a better light even if its slightly so than any other Alt Chain

Plans to destroy us have been put off for now, and I sincerely hope it goes in that direction however we are prepared to fight back by securing the Devcoin network with hash power.

cablepair, regarding Devcoin, I don't see any reason to treat it as different from any other scamcoin. I will at least discuss it with you on IRC before doing anything other than mining it with the almost-unmodified (zero txn fee, zero post-maturity delay) Devcoin client.

This is the statement from Luke-JR regarding his plans to attack Devcoin

at least he is giving me a chance to talk with him before he moves forward with it.

If anyone has any brilliant reasons why he should let Devcoin live - please PM me with them and I will add them to my list of things I want to point out to him about Devcoin

thanks!
1417  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Open Letter to Luke-JR About Alt-Coin Attacks on: January 06, 2012, 08:06:02 PM
I don't particularly have any incentive to respond to the scammers that I foiled, given the significant cost (in time) to do so. Nor do I have any financial loss or care particularly if people want to stop mining on Eligius because they were in on the scam (or any other reason). I will clarify that Eligius miners were not adversely impacted by this, and that the CLC mining involved only adding data that I hashed myself to my own transactions; and I was careful to ensure that nobody lost any confirmed CLC. If any Eligius miner wishes to inquire further, I will take the time to answer specific to-the-point questions which are signmessage'd with an active (ie, has mined in the past week) Eligius payout address that has earned at least 2000 TBC (5.36870912 BTC) over all time.

Eligius is a Bitcoin mining pool and I am, as always, committed to doing my best to contribute to and protect the Bitcoin ecosystem. Pyramid schemes built upon forks of the Bitcoin software ultimately discredit and harm Bitcoin's reputation. I hope CoiledCoin will be the last of such scams now that it is clear there are people (not just myself) willing to stand up to them. Namecoin alone demonstrates a legitimate, innovative use of Bitcoin technology, and while I don't personally agree with their ideals/goals, I see it as a good thing for Bitcoin and worth cooperating with.

cablepair, regarding Devcoin, I don't see any reason to treat it as different from any other scamcoin. I will at least discuss it with you on IRC before doing anything other than mining it with the almost-unmodified (zero txn fee, zero post-maturity delay) Devcoin client.

P.S. While the opposition seem to be very venemous and vocal, I have gotten a lot more positive support from a head-count perspective.

Luke-JR: I appreciate you agreeing to talk with me. I am working in the field right now when I return home in about four hours time (7PM EST)
I will message you on IRC.

Thank you.

cant sign with it right now because I am at work but I have mined over 250 Bitcoins with your pool.
1418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: January 06, 2012, 05:04:07 PM
Luke-jr isn't going to have near 350 ghash by the end of the day
And if he attacks devcoin he wont have half that

As far as summoning mining power as long as we as a team don't mind spending a little money I can summon whatever we need, I have friends with big rigs my man , it might take some coinage to get them moving but if we want to protect devcoin and it comes down to it - we can fight back.
1419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: January 06, 2012, 02:11:36 PM
I believe we are a good team and we are equipped to deal with this.

4 reasons why everything will be ok
(a) We have drawn public attention to the situation making it uncomfortable for him to do (if he even wants to do it which I am not convinced of yet)
(b) I can personally summon enough mining power to compete at least to the level that if he (or anyone else) wants to really screw the network over they are going to have to invest a lot of resources in doing so. This is a Network that is backed by developers and miners, if someone wants to take it down - its going to be a fight.
(c) the value is already astronomically low, it can only go up from here
(d) I really believe the nature of the devcoin network and the way the difficulty changes so fast will protect us, I mean think about it if someone wants to drive the difficulty up they are going to have to spend their resources to keep it up - someone would really have to hate devcoin to invest this type of money in it. As soon as they stop it will go back down. Problem solved.
(e) im not scared Smiley

have a great day gentleman
