RAFFLE TERMS AS CHANGED ON 05/07/2012

If all the tickets do not sell by June 18th - I will use the first block solved after 12:01AM UTC on June 18th to Pick a Winner from tickets 1-300, if it picks a ticket number that is not sold we will go to the second solved block after 12:01 on June 18th and continue on in that fashion until the raffle ticket number picker picks a number of a ticket that has been sold, as soon as a winner is picked I will ship the prize to the winner that same day.

If the Tickets sell out before June 18th we will pick the winner as described in the beginning

and Either way no matter how many tickets I sell I will still donate 60 BTC to the Forum.

Thanks for participating, and thanks to those who have showed patience and composure.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have already donated the 60 BTC to the forum by sending it directly to Theymos

1. A USB port can deliver 2.5 Watts.

3. The current record is under 25 MH/J, so they are claiming a 5600% improvement in power efficiency.

Does anybody here believe this?

I call bullshit.

thank you.

on a side note:

How long do you think BFL will mine on their wonder ASICs before making them available to the public?

How long before gigavps buys 51% of the network with his American Express card?

Only REV1 BFL Singles work with MPBM

a worker module for the REV3 has been on do list but TheSeven just hasnt gotten around to it yet.

So unless you have all BFL REV1 singles they will not work with MPBM

however all versions of the ModMiner Quad will. Smiley

If you need help getting either one working with MPBM please dont hesitate to ask

Ive said this since day one and I will continue to say this.

Butterfly labs 20 year wait period is due to the "Extended testing" they must undergo to make sure each unit pays for itself twice via mining before they send it out to their loyal customer.

Not to mention the fact that with the rise of Bitcoin values that 100 BTC you send them today might be worth twice as much by the time you actually get your unit.

Hate me if you want for using this thread for an advertisement but at BTCFPGA.com we GUARANTEE 2-4 week delivery time and if your unit does not ship by that fourth week we give you a 9% discount which can be refunded in BTC, credited back to your Credit/Debit card or used as a discount on a future model.
611  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Introducing the ModMiner Quad 840Mhash @ 40 Watts http://www.BTCFPGA.com on: June 15, 2012, 10:16:10 PM
NOTE ON SHIPPING:

All orders who are in their fourth or fifth week since they placed their order have been shipped and are currently track-able with some exceptions like certain international shipments where tracking is very poor.

Anyone who's item did not ship before the fifth week since they placed their order is due for a 9% discount, if you believe you are due a discount please email tom@btcfpga.com and I will do my best to process it in a timely fashion.

We thank you so much for being patient with us, we currently have a very small operation with a very large work load and it makes it difficult to build and test units in a timely fashion. With that being said we are currently looking into outsourcing some soldering and some other parts of the manufacturing process to speed up order shipment times greatly.

Until then we will continue to work diligently every day to built and test units and get them out to our customers, and we will continue to honor the 2-4 week shipping guarantee. We are shipping every single day and we will continue to do so. If you have any problems at all with your shipments / tracking numbers please email me tom@btcfpga.com and I will handle it immediately. I am usually available for customer support from 9am-9pm EST on email or feel free to contact me on skype at btcwebhost

Thank you so much you guys are the best customers in the world and I cannot wait to see some show off pics being posted in the next couple days from proud owners finally getting their units!

-Tom

613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin Corruption on: June 15, 2012, 07:40:46 PM
I read that. I still don't get it. What devcoin appears to have done is create an ecosystem where 90% of the wealth is controlled by a very small group, maybe just 1 person. Corruption is inevitable in this model. You are going to be gamed by bounty hunters, gamed by everyone else who thinks they can blag a free handout, and gamed by the 90% wealth holders who will want to do everything to ensure their wealth steadily increases. And the 90% person or group will see it as their wealth over time.

This project appears to be idealistic but good intentions get corrupted by messy reality.

The gaming by bounty hunters and hack writers hasn't happened yet. For the 90% wealth holders to see their wealth increase they have to be fair to workers, or else the good workers will go to something else and the devcoins they hold would be worth little.

Although devcoin isn't corrupt now, most organizations become corrupt with time. If that happens to devcoin, then the good writers could just move their articles to another wiki, make another coin to fund it, say a reformcoin, as described here:
http://devtome.org/wiki/index.php?title=Devcoin#Concerns

Ideally, there would be some way of making money independently, where people could write or do something and get paid what they deserve. However, I've never seen any way to make real money working alone. The advertising revenue for most blogs is less than 10 $/month. Donations from making an open source program are also usually less than 10 $/month, even for fairly popular programs. If someday there's a way of making real money independently I'll try that, until then there's devcoin.

I run several online business and I am in need of people to help out with certain tasks.

I am willing to pay in devcoins for easy jobs
anyone interested please send email to tom@devcoin.org

also I still need some devcoind binaries so I can get into my wallet!!

someone please help!!!

I think I officially just shed a tear or 2 once I saw this re-design....I really liked the idea of using a single 120mm fan on the side of a 'stack' or similar....using the previous design/model.

The spacing looks different because chips 1&2 are now closer to the end, and that opened up a space in the middle - a few pages back the diagram of the PCB shows the spacing is still the same (roughly).

there is more spacing in the middle

but the space between chips 1-2 and 3-4 is basically the same as the original ModMiner design.

I actually have a half breed mod miner hashing away on my desk right now

it has the new back plane design but has the old spartan chips plugged in with the black heat sinks

....and we are back on track. New design.

Is there enough space between the cards to mount the old-style passive coolers ? (to use in conjunction with a 120mm side-blowing fan) or are the new fans recommended ?

(to run this type of setup with multiple units, sandwiching fans)

kinda like this....you get the idea though....

Are the new fans fairly quiet ?

yes and if anyone wants to request the old-style passive coolers instead of the new fans I would be happy to oblige

and to answer your question these new fans are practically silent

stay tuned based on the tracking numbers I checked today we should have some customer reviews either tomorrow or the day after
