1421  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion: Who is going to fill the gap of Chipmixer by the end of year 2023? on: April 09, 2023, 08:27:35 AM
Question remains, who is going to win it?

From my perspective, companies which will manage their activity wisely have most chances to survive on the market. Meaning those which will not make useless and inefficient expenses and which will be also resilient.

It would be nice to know who have how much btc in reserve. At least Foxpup can do a math if he wants his own mixer  Grin

I have no idea why OP mentioned Foxpup here. Why would Foxpup need a mixer? Besides, that "he" is totally wrong. Recently she offered undeniable evidence for her gender, so where is that "he" coming from?

I want to share the idea of an avatar.
Quote

This is the most cool avatar I ever encountered at a signature campaign! Bravo icopress!

Some said it looks like Satoshi's statue, some said it looks like a hacker, some said it looks like an assassin from AC games. All comparisons are suitable Smiley

Congrats for this amazing avatar!

1427  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ENDED: Charity Auction - yahoo62278] Bitcoin Romania Card - 100 RON in BTC on: April 07, 2023, 10:26:57 AM
I believe that @ChiBitCTy is referring to the Prypto scam[1][2] that took place around 2019 since it seems that he also was affected by it[3]. Just the idea of having to rely on a website to redeem the card makes me shiver but after reading that the card had an expiry date of 5 years[4] I was more in awe. How can an item that for sure would get the attention of collectible enthusiastic have such a low expiry date? Better yet, why in the world would it have an expiry date since the product itself (bitcoin) doesn't expire and no mention of the expire date in the card?

Ohhh I see... Now, seeing your posts, I slightly remember the incident. Well in our case, this card is not loaded with anything. The scratch area has a code which can be used on BitcoinRomania's platform for redeeming 100 RON in your account. But, as I said in other previous posts, this implies creating an account there and that implies KYC -- and I don't recommend anybody to go through KYC. The card is very nice as it is and its value is certainly not the 100 RON (~20 EUR) code written on it. The value is given by the rarity of this card and by the fact that it's a nice collectible item Smiley

Now I actually don't know until when this code can be used. I asked them last year about the code validity and they said it won't expire, although we were in 2022 and on the back of the card is written September 2021. Maybe at some point in time the code won't be usable anymore. But I can't say anything precisely on this matter, as I can not foresee the future Smiley

Two new translations have been added to OP:

I also added these translations as footnotes inside the original threads.

Thank you Asuspawer09 and Peanutswar! Looking forward for future collaborations Smiley

found a small typo here. the translation of Porfirii is spanish and not polish

Thanks, I fixed that Smiley

GazetaBitcoin was a bit too hasty in writing - no wonder if his threads now gain more popularity and are translated very often Wink

=))) This is true -- I always try to made the updates very fast after receiving the new translations, and this implies updating OP, updating the footnote from the original thread and also make a new post here, announcing which translations have been added. Due to all these (and, as we all know, working with BBCode is not a pleasure, lol), some typos may occur from time to time. Thank you for highlighting them to me Smiley

For most forum members, you are "Sir". Only very few people here on Bitcointalk can call you "bro" or "BAE".  Wink Wink
there is also a user who calls it something else - but Gazeta already knows about it🧛‍♂️ Grin

Looooooooooooool!

Great job again, my dear Peanutswar!

This is Part I of my 4-topics sequel, which is fully translated by you Smiley In this topic and in the other 3 you will learn about the actions of governments against bitcoiners, why the state does not want a state-owned cryptocurrency, and how the elite try to keep information away from law-abiding citizens. I hope all of you will enjoy reading Smiley

Peanutswar I want to thank you for all your efforts!

Aaaand, the Ledger finally arrived!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Thank you, Betnomi & icopress, for this beautiful prize!

Well done for going through the process of photographing the items and for providing information and review along the way so we can all have an understanding.

It was a pleasure Smiley

I hope icopress will be able to receive his items from you when it is possible.

I hope that too and I will do all I can to ensure he will finally receive his gift as well!

I take it the ledger was the item you were looking forward to receiving the most and as that has not arrived there is disappointment. As you tracked it to your country, hopefully it will be with you soon  Smiley

Yup, you are right Smiley But it was not a big disappointment, as I knew it was supposed to arrive in a few days and this happened meanwhile Smiley

I am glad to announce that I finally received the coin I won at you 500th raffle! Here it is :

At same time, I am also posting this very nice Doge coin, which I won at another raffle organized by you but, sadly, I don't remember which one. I even looked through my old posts yet I did not find the raffle where I won it. In any case, I am 100% sure it was at a raffle organized by you  Roll Eyes

Thank you krogoth for all these raffles!

Now I am waiting to receive the car I won at 507th raffle and another coin, which I won at your 505th raffle! Of course, I will post also pics with these prizes once I'll receive them  Cheesy
1434  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin- Ang Mapayapang Rebolusyon on: April 07, 2023, 08:28:48 AM
Thank you Asuspawer09 for translating another topic of mine! I feel very honored and you have all my appreciation for your efforts!

This topic is very special because it shows how Satoshi managed to change the old financial paradigm without involving any violence. I know some users protested that it wasn't a revolution or it wasn't the first bloodless revolution, but let's not debate the semantics here. Writers usually use metaphors or other figures of speech when writing. So take this article as philosophical writing if you want Cheesy

And this philosophical writing is a tribute to Satoshi and his work!

1435  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Few Trusted Escrow Providers on: April 07, 2023, 07:31:11 AM
I have removed Dabs from the trusted escrow provider list as Dabs has an active loan and based on the required time I can't see any repayment also there is no announcement about the time extension. Also after the required time, there is no login.

Thank you for updating this topic regularly, shasan! I also wanted to suggest you to remove Dabs for the reason you stated and also for the fact that he never replied to my PM from January.

Other than that, please also remove John (John K.). He also never replied to my PM from January. Besides, this user was last seen in November last year and, more important, his last post was made on April 8th, 2020, which is 3 years ago. There is no reason for keeping him in the list.

This was also suggested by PX-Z here, in February and by me as well, also in February.

Besides, you said

I will send a pm to those who are/will be inactive for more than a month. And I will wait for 7 days to get a response from them before removing them.

If you PMed John K. and he did not reply to you as well, I believe it's safe to remove him from the list. As far as I remember, last time when I talked to him (which happened in 2020), he told me that although he still browses the forum from time to time, he is not active anymore. You can also see that by looking at the date of his last post. Considering these, there is no reason for keeping him the the list of escrow providers.
1436  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: April 06, 2023, 11:00:17 PM
Your approach is very reasonable because by doing so, interested translators need to express directly some sort of interest, not just posting a standardized reply, which could turn into a Bounty spammer shitshow at some point.  Cheesy
Plz reserve, Sir.

You won't believe how many times I've been called "Sir" or "boss" lately Smiley And I had to explain them all that I am not "Sir", not "boss". At least, if they said "baws" it would feel better, but it was "boss", not "baws =)))

In my opinion, a public comment is very important because if it's done via PM, it might result in confusion in case 2 members apply at the same time: one application in PM and one application publicly. It's very likely to result in a confusion.
If it's public, everyone can see who applied at which time and you would have a much better overview.
At least it's much easier for me, when I'm about to send out dozens of prizes from my giveaways to all winners and it's always messy when I receive some BTC addresses sent via PM.  Cheesy

Yes, I understand what you mean. And I also agree. Fortunately, there were only rare cases when I was announced only by PM and not through a public post too and, even more fortunately, there was no overlap, so far, between a public post application and one received by PM. In any case, for making sure that such overlaps are always avoided, if I receive a PM application I also post it publicly, thus it can be seen that the respective post is reserved (at least, by those which bother to read the posts Smiley). So no matter the fact that the user does not post it publicly and only sends me a PM, I am making the post (and the reservation) public.

lazy people are a big issue.
And if they can't read your OP or your replies properly, how can we trust, that their translations will be better?  Roll Eyes

This is also correct Smiley

Although I don't understand the language but from the first impression it looks like you have done amazing job as usual. The translation is not easy when it consists of useful information that needs to be shared in the right manner with good choice of words but also that local essence that reader feel comfortable and understand it better. So well done again man.

Thank you, aysg76! Indeed, making a translation idiomatic is very, very important! I try to do this with all my translations.

1438  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ENDED: Charity Auction - yahoo62278] Bitcoin Romania Card - 100 RON in BTC on: April 06, 2023, 08:58:57 PM
I think @GazetaBitcoin is able to further clarify this question further, but I do believe he still has some more in his possession. See his reply[1] whenever MoparMiningLLC asked about buying a card also for his collection.

This is correct. I received 5 such cards from BitcoinRomania but I never heard anybody having such cards besides me. They must offer them only for special clients, for friends or for promoters or something like that. I received those cards from them (together with a shirt and a 0.001 loaded BTC card) after I wrote a very nice topic about them in Romanian board. I offered one of these cards as a sponsored prize for a giveaway organized by 1miau (and that card is already at the winner). I offered a second one as a sponsored prize for another giveaway organized also by 1miau. This card was won by RickDeckard but, eventually, he decided to auction it for helping yahoo62278. I am still in the possession of 3 more cards.

So, to answer your question, they are rare. I never seen any other such card issued by BitcoinRomania and, if they issued more, they are certainly not for regular public access.

Also, might someone be willing to transcribe what the back of the card says? I guess I could type it in to google translate, but any time I do that with Spanish..my friends who are fluent say it sucks lol.
The translation was made by Gazeta himself and you can check it out on the first page of this thread[2]:
Quote
The card is your exclusive access to the platform, where 100 RON in Bitcoin is waiting for you. The code and the card are unique and can only be used once. The card is valid until September 2021* and does not represent a financial obligation.
Edit: any ideas why they would have put an expiration date on this? I at least appreciate they did this, unlike the scam that was bitcoin scratch-cards.
Gazeta also inquired the Bank that issued this card and the reply was that the code is still valid (even after surpassing the previous September 2021 date on the back of it).

I confirm this and I stated here what Rick said. However, the card was not issued by a "Bank", but by BitcoinRomania, which is biggest Romanian crypto exchange.

Is this a big exchange in Romania?

It is biggest crypto exchange from Romania Smiley

Being that we are collectibles nerds here, this kind of thing appeals to all of us..so just curious for the lot of us collectors..

There are more than 99% that nobody else from this forum to have such card, excepting you, me and the other winner from the giveaway organized by 1miau  Roll Eyes

This is the first time I think this card has shown it’s face in collectibles, and alway love rare stuff!

It is, certainly, a rare collectible!

Edit: any ideas why they would have put an expiration date on this?

I guess that was a generic message... When I asked them about the expiration date they said that the codes associated with the card can be still used, although 2021 passed for a while now.

I at least appreciate they did this, unlike the scam that was bitcoin scratch-cards.

I am not sure about what bitcoin-scratch cards you talk about Smiley
1439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Survey regarding our Bitcoin Blockexplorer topic on: April 06, 2023, 08:33:09 PM
But I understand your objections and it's definitely an option to keep our old table version updated as well. We can add this question to our new survey. And as we are asking the public for its opinion, we can ask 2 questions at once.  Cheesy
Okay Smiley Although, from my perspective, keeping the old thread for helping mobile users would also automatically imply having it updated whenever the new table would receive updates... I know that this means some more work to do from you (and also from me, as I also intended to keep updated the old format of the table translated in Romanian).
Your arguments are very reasonable.
I'll include it in our survey of course.  Smiley

Hey there 1miau! Any news about the new survey...? I just remembered about that and I said it's better to write a reminder Smiley
