First, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB graphics card will appear, in July the same model with 16 GB of memory will appear. There is no other difference between the video cards.
The good news is, it's a $300 low-cost GeForce RTX 4060 8GB that will probably be on par with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in terms of performance.

1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 5090 and others on: May 20, 2023, 02:42:18 PM

I agree that now with the coming of the 5000 series from Nvidia those cards will be even cheaper and they can run games relatively well at least for the people who do not mind to play with more than 1080p settings and for people playing mostly online games or steam games.

That 1060 though is a very old card together with 1050 ti,the oldest cards being run and I think that the price of these cards can be found really cheap at local marketplaces everywhere in the world and I just did a check now where I am and I see tons of 1060 at 70 dollars and 1050 ti and 50-60 dollars in price, basically anyone can buy them.

So the new series at least bring some joy to people down the hierarchy  Grin beside bringing miners joy.
The 5000 series from Nvidia won't be available until the end of next year, and the prices of old graphics cards are dropping because miners are selling their graphics cards. Some miners are reluctant to use 1000 series even on free electricity due to the high risk of losing the free socket and getting a low profit.
1424  Bitcoin / Mining / Bitcoin Mining Rig Maker MicroBT Unveils Most Powerful Machine Yet on: May 19, 2023, 04:02:43 PM
The Most Powerful Machine: WhatsMiner M53S++
MicroBT’s flagship model, the WhatsMiner M53S++, has set a new standard for Bitcoin mining rigs in terms of computing power. With an outstanding rate of 320 TH/s, this machine surpasses Bitmain’s equivalent offering, the Antminer S19 XP Hydro, which delivers up to 257 TH/s. However, the WhatsMiner M53S++ is slightly less energy-efficient, operating at 22 joules per terahash (J/T), compared to the Antminer’s impressive 20.8 J/T. Despite this minor difference in efficiency, MicroBT’s latest release demonstrates their commitment to pushing the boundaries of mining rig capabilities.

Additional Models: M50S++ and M56S++

Alongside the powerful WhatsMiner M53S++, MicroBT unveiled two additional models to cater to varying mining needs. The first is the M50S++, designed for air-cooling, which boasts a computing power of 150 TH/s. This model, like its flagship counterpart, operates at an energy efficiency of 22 J/T. The second model, the M56S++, is specifically engineered for immersion cooling and can deliver an impressive 230 TH/s, with the same energy efficiency of 22 J/T. MicroBT’s comprehensive range of rigs ensures there is an option available to suit different mining requirements and preferences.

Litecoin will have halving in 74 days and the block reward will be 6.25 coins instead of 12.5.
After halving, you can forgive the seller for a discount. Even for an investment in altcoin mining, this is a small amount.
1426  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I will like to know more about bitcoin mining system on: May 19, 2023, 03:43:56 PM
I  really like to be enlighten about bitcoin mining system.
Though i read few of them, the like of CPU,FPGA and CLOUD MINING.
If there are more important once i will love to know about them.
If you are still interested in mining, then don't waste your time reading reviews about CLOUD MINING, because this is a lost investment and CPU mining is not popular right now, just like GPU mining. Motherboards have 1 processor, Chinese budget motherboards have 2 processors, but these are old server processors.

1427  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: May 19, 2023, 03:34:57 PM
I know huge capital is required to meet up huge financial expectations, what's the minimum volume of income one can use to start mining? In a situations where you trade with different strategies and still hits wrong targets, if you apply or use same trading knowledge for mining won't one still loss in mining too? Because I don't have enough money with me, so am trying to cut losses if mining too will not favor me I will decided to venture into mining too again.

Can I start mining with $300 and grow from there?

You can literally start mining with the computer that you are using to post this topic on the forum. You just would not earn a lot since the computing power is considered nothing special (unless you have a really awesome and expensive hardware setup).

I think the question you want to ask is how much money do I need to invest into mining Bitcoin for it to become profitable by an x amount of percent, in regards to the money that I put in? That might be a bit more difficult to solve since you have to consider the costs of miners, electricity, internet, space and so on...

So the most necessary question to figure out your costs is: how much money, at minimum, do you want to make?
You can earn a few dollars a month mining on a computer if you are 14 years old and your parents bought you a computer and pay utilities. In Russia, such people are called "mom's miner". And the computer will probably need repair after some time. If you pay for utilities yourself, then in a few days you will realize that this is an unprofitable activity.
1428  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Russia Becomes World’s Second-Largest Crypto Miner on: May 19, 2023, 03:29:21 PM
In the taiga, electricity is 1.5-2 cents, but it is dangerous there; in Moscow, electricity is 5-6 cents, but it is safe there. I do not know what the oligarchs are doing in Russia, but if they own power plants, then the cost of electricity for them in the taiga is 0.1-0.2 cents. If you install a mining plant nearby, then even the oldest ASICs will mine profitably.

May I ask why do you consider the taiga as a dangerous area regarding to BTC mining ? I mean, why would it be more dangerous than Moscow area ?

"The law is Taiga, the Prosecutor is the Bear."
There are no police in Taiga. The bandits can take the ASICs and no one else will find them.
And if you bought ASICs that arrived in the country unofficially, then the police will have requests for you. I know that when buying large quantities of equipment, the seller is obliged to transfer to the buyer data on the passage of customs control.
1429  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Are you doing this as a Bitcoin miner also? on: May 18, 2023, 05:59:46 PM
But normally it is the bear markets that are very good to mine and when bitcoin goes up they can sell it with the higher price and buy more machine. But this one your state guys decide to mine only on the bull market. Are you sure confirmed this story from them well? Because the things is not clear to hear.
These guys are short term profit takers and the bull season is the appropriate time for them to mine because of the price of Bitcoin during this period. Whatever Bitcoin they are able to mine they would still realize some good profit, and they would sell their equipment afterward when it's bearish and wait for another bull.

But going by the OP's explanation. I think the best time to buy the ASIC miners should be in the bear season since there would be many short term miners cashing on their investment and selling their facilities.
Such activities can be done when you live in a city or area where there are a lot of miners. In Russia, for example, these are Irkutsk and the Irkutsk region, and due to cheap electricity, less than 2 cents is mined by everyone who can buy equipment. In other regions, there is not much demand for mining equipment.

1431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gamepass mining on: May 18, 2023, 01:30:15 PM
The initial block reward is 2000 GPN coins, of which the miner receives 51% for keeping the chain secure. The block reward decreases by 1% every month due to our custom halving algorithm. Mining is a great way to support the Gamepass Network and earn GPN coins while doing so.[/i]

Read: Mining is a great way to fulfill someone's greedy dreams with rest 49% of the block reward.

This is crazy for sure.
This is a big commission. 10-20% on the team's budget and project development looks good if the project does not have funding. When almost half of the coins are taken from miners, the interest of miners in such a coin quickly disappears.

It's not 10-20% for them.

They have a PoG system right now on Dota2 it seems. From the whitepaper:

"Network
The Gamepass Network runs on its own cryptocurrency called the GPN coin (GPN). GPN is a
proof-of-work coin that uses the KawPow algorithm to protect against ASIC miners. GPN has a
total supply of 8.75 billion coins, which are distributed as follows:
- 51% to miners who protect the network by generating blocks;
- 41% to gamers who play games on the Gamepass Network;
- 8% to developers who maintain and improve the Gamepass Network.
GPN has a unique halving algorithm that reduces the block reward by 1% each month.
In this whitepaper, we will describe in more detail the features, architecture, roadmap, team,
legal aspects, and risks of the Gamepass Network."
For winning a random game Dota 2 you get 2000 GamePass coins!
you need to set up an account.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W92PiWv9Ukg&ab_channel=Usmfox
It's not much, $1.5 for 40 minutes if you win, but if you play DOTA 2 because you like it, then you will have a nice little bonus.
If the world of tanks paid the same, I would play.

In a tweet on May 17, 2023, Sheffield said that Visa would continue researching and experimenting with account abstraction and EIP-4337 in the days ahead.

His comments were confirmed by a team member who said that the payments company is actively exploring the potential of smart contracts and the future of programmable money and payments.

As part of its experiment on the Goerli testnet, Visa will look at how it can further take advantage of EIP-4337 in deploying a functional paymaster smart contract to evaluate its utility.

1433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profitable PoW coin now? on: May 18, 2023, 01:13:19 PM
So, I understand that there is currently no coin that is immediately profitable, right?

Then, what would be the best coin to mine right now that would increase in value in the next bull run? Ha ha, I know that's not an objective question at this stage, but I would like to hear some "expert" opinions.
The experts won't tell you because they don't know what kind of equipment you have and the cost of your electricity. And I will not do this either, because in some cases it is more profitable to buy coins and not mine them. I have chosen a few coins for myself, but my risks are only paying for electricity from mining profits.

1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon RX 7000 on: May 17, 2023, 03:54:50 PM
The card was disassembled and Igor confirmed that the thermal paste had uneven distribution on the die. There were areas where there was no paste at all, clearly showing that there was an issue with application. He quickly reapplied the thermal paste the proper way and assembled the card back. This made a massive difference for the temperature, eliminating the issue. The average GPU temperature decreased from 80°C to 75°C while the hotspot temperature had a substantial drop to 93-95°C.
https://videocardz.com/newz/powercolor-rx-7900-xtx-red-devil-cards-may-suffer-from-high-gpu-temperatures-due-to-incorrect-application-of-thermal-compound.

Now miners do not take such hot video cards, but any manufacturer can have such problems. The best option is to replace the thermal paste yourself with a quality version and change the thermal pads at the same time, but this leads to a loss of warranty.
But the stock version for mining is usually not suitable.

1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Decarbonization of the crypto industry on: May 17, 2023, 03:47:29 PM
If mining is prohibited in a country, this does not mean that miners do not mine cryptocurrency there. Rumor has it that China still uses a lot of mining hardware because they have electricity surplus areas and the cost of electricity is cheap.

You can't stop mining despite the wider ban that China made in 2021 and even with China out of the way in a big chunk we have a lot of the world that it is still mining and I have said it several times that mining overall including when China was heavily mining with a lot of farms the energy used was less than 1% of the total energy being used in the world for different purposes.

There is nothing that can stop mining and the fact that the people claiming about the energy, massive energy consumption from mining are shrinking day by day until they are completely out of the picture.
Yes, I think that mining is now much easier to stop, because all well-known companies do not hide information about the amount of their equipment and their location. Fighters against global warming will first of all direct their anger at the miners, and it is impossible to mine stealthily due to the high consumption of electricity.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel ARC GPUs incoming on: May 17, 2023, 03:39:54 PM
Now I will look at the INTEL ARC A770 video card through the eyes of a miner.
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus/a770
In the calculator, the price of the video card is $349, but this is a slight inaccuracy. And even if you buy this video card for $339, it will not greatly affect the payback in mining.
Payback is more than 10 years, if you look at the calculator, then it is 15-20 years, but it does not matter.
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: An overclocking program? on: May 17, 2023, 03:24:47 PM
It is easier to introduce this topic to the Internet, because you need to know everything about your system, which video card, which performance.
Video card settings for mining famous coins can be found on the website
https://www.hashrate.no/gpus
New miners probably do not know what a modification of the native BIOS of a video card is and flashing a video card with this BIOS.
The last versions of AMD that required this were for the RX 5600 and RX 5700.

An important update for Ryzen™ 7000 series processors on ASUS AM5 platform Motherboard

This update is a continuation of our response to this issue. As mentioned, ASUS has been working with AMD on defining new rules for the new BIOS updates. These updates will continue to be completed as necessary. The BIOS updates address concerns regarding potential damage that may occur when using Ryzen™ 7000 series processors with our AM5 motherboards by following the latest guidance from AMD. This includes a cap on SOC voltage at 1.3V. Please download the latest version of the BIOS updates from asus.com/support.

https://press.asus.com/news/important-update-for-ryzen-700-series-processors-onasus-am5-platform-motherboard/

But watch out, miners are saying that the latest BIOSes are overvolting the SoC, which is above AMD's allowed level.

NVIDIA is getting ready to release its RTX 4060 series, which includes the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB, RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, and RTX 4060. The company intends to unveil all three SKUs this month, though only the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB model will be available for purchase immediately.

The RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB and RTX 4060 versions are slated for a July release. The introduction of the 16 GB RTX 4060 Ti model comes as a surprise, considering the 128-bit memory bus constraint. Nonetheless, gamers can anticipate more frame buffer for storing high-resolution textures and expansive AI models.
