This has been my favorite pool so far, I'm back on it and I hope it works just fine.

Is the website down or the whole pool?
Am I mining in vain?

I sent a feedback message to coinex.pw

It read:

I'd like to see Tigercoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=289312.new#new
on the exchange, it's very promising, as fast as Zetacoin but will be more evenly distributed thanks to a slower halving process. (3 months as opposed to 1) and somewhat more scarce.

If enough people do the same I'm sure someone will put the coin up there!
1430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Tigercoin - TGC | SHA256 with Super Random Blocks | Please Upgrade to V1.1 on: September 08, 2013, 12:26:50 PM
OP, what is the status of the website?

Also did anyone here get a superblock?

haven't seen any  Angry
Also cant find any exchange to see the worth of this coin... Any ideas?  Huh

For the most part you'd see a few trades, either product or coin that happen before an exchange is set up!

This coin is just as fast as zetacoin but will be distributed a little more evenly (thanks to 3 month halving as opposed to 1)
If people request the coin to be put on the exchanges they use the coin will be on an exchange within the week...

I'm dropping 30 GH/s out of the network, I'll keep the client on however and I may mine when the reward drops...
Eligius is still not working! I'll mine a few extra tigercoins I guess, most likely I'll donate them to a faucet if anyone springs up!

Is anyone making a faucet? I'd be happy to contribute 10k-15k Tigercoins for a faucet.
1433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Tigercoin - TGC | SHA256 with Super Random Blocks | Please Upgrade to V1.1 on: September 08, 2013, 03:22:33 AM
Version 1.1 is released. ** This is a mandatory update **

Please upgrade to 1.1 within 24 hours (before block 4000, now we are at block 1893, target blocks 1 day=1920 blocks - so we have about a day to upgrade to V1.1).

The version 1.1:

(a) Fixed the issue with random superblocks
(b) Added more checkpoints.

Links at OP for downloading windows client and source are updated.

I tested the fix, the random numbers work fine with the fix.

I personally updated very quickly...

I want to know what happens to the people who don't, 24 hours is a very small amount of time
I bet there will be quite a few miners and many more normal users who won't see this in time...

What would happen in that case?

those who did not upgrade will create their own forked chain. If most people upgraded, the forked chain by old version will become orphans and be rejected by the network. On the other hand, if most people did not upgrade, then the chain created by the new version will become orphans, and the upgrade will fail. That's why everyone (especially the pool) should upgrade so we make sure the new version dominates.

I'm thrilled! I wonder if I'll lose any coins, I upgraded very quickly but still mined a few blocks after the announcement!

No, you won't lose anything. The only possible fork point is at block=4001, anything before it will stay the same and won't be affected. V1.0 or V1.1 before block 4001 are exactly the same, it won't create any fork. So don't worry.

As long as you upgrade before block 4000 (would be in about 24 hrs), you have no problem. If you don't upgrade after block 4000, then what you mine after block 4000 will likely be orphaned (assume most people upgraded).

We should all pay extra attention in the following days then... Just a few mistakes by pool operators might create forks...

In that case I propose we get two tigercoins, Rename the fork to LOLCAT coin and ask the OP to write a client for it!

I for one would love to be able to buy stuff from dx with bitcoin!

Those two things together have epic potential!

but apparently satoshi can't login, account locked....

(yeah I now pgp proof etc but still)

Was satoshi an active member of bitcointalk?

I'd be interested to see a link to his profile!

I found his profile at:

1437  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is anyone actually going to buy the 600 GH/s BFL unit after their customer serv? on: September 08, 2013, 02:04:22 AM
How many people have actually received their BFL miners? Other than the 2 500 GH/s systems I heard of?

I received my 30 GH/s Unit, Just 10 months late!

I'm happy because it allowed me to get into BTC.... If however they had shipped when they promised to I'd be sitting on dozens of thousands of dollars worth of BTC....Even if I had bought btc outright I would have made a better deal...

My miner will probably ROI (most of other BFLs won't)

My reason for buying the miner was never to ROI though, I just wanted to get into bitcoin (I have stated this many times in the BFL forum)

Honestly BFL created a far superior product to most of it's competitors at the time....

The avalon units seem a far worse deal to me....

Most ASIC manufacturers up to now have screwed up in many ways...

Maybe manufacturers like Cointerra and Bitfury won't continue with this model

There is no way a person could trust BFL to ship the 600 GH/s unit unless they promise to give you a 2% refund for every day they are late or something similar... Pre-orders need to have some parameters too!
BFL fails horribly at customer service because they didn't offer an easy way to get a refund... You'd have to fight it every step of the way. Being one of the few satisfied customers doesn't mean I didn't hear the outcry from the customers that were absolutely screwed (and not partially like me). Even Madbitcoins has orders that haven't yet been received from butterfly labs and is unable to get a refund (I sent him a bitcointalk thread that may help him).

BFL up to now has some really horrible business practices: A record of huge delays, Bad customer service, Unclear and changing purchasing terms, arbitrary increases in price, unreasonable shipping costs
On the other hand they do go from production to shipping quickly and efficiently, Their products hash at the promised rate and they are one of the first companies (and generally the first to ship 65nm at a very high volume...

1438  Other / Meta / Activity doesn't seem to be refreshing, are there caps? on: September 08, 2013, 01:40:24 AM
My activity seems to have been stuck at 56....

Is there a cap for any 2 week period?

I saw the formula on the sticky thread and the min didn't make sense to me, what does it mean?

activity = min(time * 14, posts)

I don't get this formula.... Can someone clear this up for me?
