1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Solarcoin transparency into reserve accounts on: February 08, 2014, 11:44:38 PM

http://solarcoin.org/solarcoin-oca-accounting-transparency/
The OCA and SolarCoin resource Transparency

The OCA (Open Currency Association), which created SolarCoin, is releasing the addresses for the reserve SolarCoin accounts.  The OCA created 98 billion SolarCoin to represent the expected Solar energy generation over the next 40 years. These coins are currently held in non-circulating reserve accounts.

These currently non-circulating reserves are held in two pools. One pool comprises 97.5 billion SolarCoins and is known as the Generator Pool. The Generator Pool is awarded globally on a 1:1 basis to generators of solar energy who submit a verified proof of solar energy generation such as an SREC (solar renewable energy certificate). A second pool of 0.5 billion SolarCoins exists in a reserve known as the Genesis Pool. The Genesis Pool is used to support the SolarCoin infrastructure and reward members of renewable energy related charities, solar energy projects and early volunteers.  The Genesis pool circulation or spend is restricted by the OCA to never be greater than 5% of all circulated SolarCoins.

The OCA is organizing its initial charter and members. Until the charter is in place and the OCA is operational, no SolarCoins will be distributed from the Genesis or Generator pools.  As a fully transparent organization the OCA will describe the SolarCoins transactions.

The accounts holding the 98 billion SolarCoins can be found in the publicly available SolarCoin BlockChain. The BlockChain ledger is maintained by the SolarCoin network of miners and wallet holders.  For logistics sake the reserve accounts have been managed into sub-accounts.  These transfers involved minor transaction fees paid to the network in an amount less than 10 SLR in aggregate.

The accounts are listed below:

8Kau7tve5QoGKNMHomDr2tHcAMmqUN2zYu
8Lv6jBL1AZ4Emdeaen8Q7aUp9XrJjChzRo
8SQAaMMWTKLHQ2ZX7Pov5DUqvJpAECY3LD
8eBF8zfYdMhqz9uKMiZZLvVttfGNhBr2dk
8FvhwTFyaQ2zoihp5kSubEc7DsgSwjvRNS
8dcVBk6Fszsx47r7AjSRN9FRG6BBZzFrDE
8HXLLWUaKg4T5NBWiFeUVtdNDxfv1D2S6i
8YVEmgenUoQi1hCAUdvAtrV2vSEeyi37Xp

All accounts are encrypted and stored in secure facilities offsite using offline cold wallets. Access requires multiple individuals and 3rd party verifications. Various operational and technical security protocols are in place to insure that no single individual process or person may access the accounts.

For security reasons, information describing the full operational and security protocols is restricted.  The accounts and any transactions into or out of them are public record.

We encourage the community to build or create a SolarCoin blockchain explorer to aid in this transparency and the SolarCoin mission of maximizing global solar energy production over the next 40 years.

Please make sure not to give money to people who are using hydroelectric power when the generation happens in a way that destroys the habitat of the native species.

This would apply to the terrible things that happened to the Mekong river and anything similar. A lot of people suffer because of such harmful destruction of natural habitat. Please look into this.

On the other end it may be good to provide a smaller yet significant incentive to people who wish to make sustainable Nuclear power.

The nuclear reactors that we are capable of making today are very safe and good for the environment.

I'm just going to watch on the sidelines.

I'm not convinced that this particular coin has reasonable fundamentals.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] RapidCoin [FORUMS] [UPDATED] Bounties - Launching 1 Hour 30mins! on: February 08, 2014, 11:26:58 PM
Where did all these pools come from?  This has gotta be good!!!

+1

Most of them won't be here tomorrow...

Most of you weren't here yesterday.

Welcome.
1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: February 08, 2014, 11:09:56 PM
I'm thinking of joining this show.

I like Max Keiser but I stopped watching his show when he met with Alex Jones who I find absolutely ridiculous.

I wonder what are the benefits to SHA-3.... Is it even as good as its predecessors?
1167  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: February 08, 2014, 11:05:28 PM
I can imagine that the approach to dividends today is "measure twice, cut once"  Tongue

What do you mean by that?
1168  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 07, 2014, 12:07:23 PM

1169  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin: Revolution Or Trap? on: February 06, 2014, 02:27:57 AM
1. Resources would be abundant without government regulations, sanctions or wealth disparities preventing populations from having stuff.
2. You can barter if you want, but if do, you're exchanging the positive energy you get from helping someone for a material thing.
3. Serious?  How would I let organized criminal cartels steal from me?  I wouldn't.

1.Sometimes lack of government regulation makes resources extremely scarce.

A coca-cola factory opened in an area in India that was scarce in water. Farmers lost their revenues and livelyhood and currently have to work away from their community for ridiculously low wages.

Lack of government regulation would mean that pollution would be rampant affecting everyone's health. It's bad enough as it is.

2. I only smoke the dankest reefer. Whaaaa? I'm just kidding. I just run out of steam for this post.
1170  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: January 29, 2014, 09:37:33 PM
You mean like at the end of Fight Club?

Certainly not, it's not like we can buy ammonium nitrate instant cold packs and mix them with oil to make vast quantities of explosives and place them in barrels in every banking high-rise using the funds of the bitcoin party.

That would certainly never work.
1171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think about premied coins? on: January 29, 2014, 09:32:16 PM
Pre-mining is a scam. This is exactly like printing money.

Here, I'll give you a dollars and give myself 1000,

Now they will be worth real life dollars.

Ooops, I just sold 500 and they are now worth 1 real cent.

You lose.
1172  Other / Off-topic / Re: Double Catfish on: January 29, 2014, 08:12:57 PM
When you pretend to be someone you're not on the Internet or otherwise to get a relationship with someone who would be otherwise unattainable. Guys pretending to be girls and girls pretending to be guys and so on.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPOEmHczkCw

1173  Other / Off-topic / Double Catfish on: January 29, 2014, 07:23:28 PM
Let's pretend we're two people catfishing each other.

Rules: Anyone can post as either the one person or the other.

I'll start:

Maria: Hi, my name is maria, from your high-school remember me?

(This shit is already creeping me out, but I guess that is why I'm doing it)
1174  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Atheism does not exist on: January 29, 2014, 05:02:58 PM
There is no proof of god therefore by your logic god does not exist.

Your logic however is flawed. The one who is trying to prove a negative is always the religious person in a given debate.

The atheists simply point out that the concept of god has no predictive capacity. You have the burden of proof with no proof.

Game Over.
1175  Other / Off-topic / Re: [☺NSFW☺] Your next generation pleasure toy on: January 29, 2014, 04:56:02 PM
Since I live with my parents my problem is a sex partner who makes noise, not one that does not.
1176  Other / Off-topic / Re: [☺NSFW☺] Your next generation pleasure toy on: January 29, 2014, 04:52:32 PM
A prototype for demo purposes should not need this amount of BTC poured in it.

There is no detail in the description either.

In other news:

Give me 5000BTC and I will make you a robotic sex slave that looks just like a real woman.

1177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is a Bubble: But so what? on: January 29, 2014, 04:40:17 PM
Whether or not bitcoin is a bubble is a point of view.

Bitcoin has proven very useful, if for some reason it becomes useless its value will drop to 0.

So if BTC is useful, it is not a bubble. That is not to say that it is not deflationary.

1178  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: January 29, 2014, 04:30:23 PM
I wonder if we're allowed to have a fireworks display or if that sort of thing is not allowed in Germany. If there is any BTC left over for that sort of thing.
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CoinEX Official IPO @ Cryptostocks.com on: January 29, 2014, 08:49:06 AM
From VCX at cryptostocks as I believe it also applies to coinex:

Risks
You must consider this investment a high risk investment with a high probability that the expected returns will not materialize or even a total loss if the investment. Operating a virtual currency trading platform incurs the risks of:
- double spend attacks on weak virtual currencies
- security breaches (e.g. 0 Day vulnerabilities)
- legal actions by governments against our service offering
- availability of key personnel to operate the platform
- continuation of the virtual currency networks (blockchains)
