1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: OMG, Mark is just trying to write his name! on: February 22, 2014, 11:48:26 PM
Wow, and just think... M is the easiest of the letters to write.

The volatility in A will be horrific xD

EDIT: Or wait, is he going to capitalize all the letters? Lowercase a is even worse! :O

 Grin Grin

You a funny dude!

Since this is a function it is impossible to spell out letters that do not pass the line test.

Simply put you cannot have two different values for the same exact time.

Therefore the only letters you can spell are M, N W, T . Y. U. I . H, J, L, V and most of them (the ones with the straight lines) would be Italics.

MTGOX is probably sort on BTC right now. It's impossible for them to make anything but negative profit in those trades, therefore MTGOX must be insolvent.

I can't wait for it to become a part of history. Irrelevant.

If you value your money stay away from MTGOX.

You have been warned.
1144  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sweden makes it illegal to have sex with animals on: February 22, 2014, 09:35:59 PM
While I find that disgusting, I don't see why I should be concerned in how other people conduct themselves. It's not something that hurts me and most likely it's not something that in most cases hurts the animal.

Not anymore than eating meat does, anyway. '

Just think of all the sick cows, all together, with huge cysts full of pus and on the other end of a spectrum a girl who just likes getting banged by dogs.

I am compelled to interfere only on the first case because I don't want to eat low quality meat. The second part doesn't bother me in the least. To be perfectly honest I don't even like the idea of pets that much in the first place.
1145  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "Remove Your Bitcoins From MTGOX" VIDEO - June 2013 on: February 22, 2014, 09:13:36 PM
I can't wait for MTGOX to become irrelevant.

What annoys me the most is seeing them listed on bitcoinity as it is where I usually check the price of bitcoin.

Sure, I've dealth with gox, but I didn't really like the experience.

If you want to send any money to exchange to bitcoin instead of using MTGOX ask for someone respectable in this forum that is willing to do the trade. You're going to be way better off.

Religious logic is highly flawed. Every idea has to be examined from an unbiased point of view.

Such is the word of the flying spaghetti monster.

Ramen.
1147  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: February 21, 2014, 08:18:23 PM
That gives me time to be in shape when the party starts. I hear the Germans are really liberal about sex. I remember in Greece they make up a big part of the people in the nude beaches. Personally I find German women very attractive.
1148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Latest News on Gox on: February 21, 2014, 07:58:58 PM
So here is what we have. A journalist that is absolutely incapable of looking up facts on the Internet.

Unfortunately you have a long way to go before you start being able to tell whether a piece of information is credible or relevant, especially when you can't even find any without someone else posting it.

This is a very interesting subject. Gox is soon to be just a part of the history of Bitcoin. It is destined to die pretty soon. It can only damage bitcoin as it is now. I can't wait for it to become irrelevant. If you want to write about it you need to do some research. You can't just ask for people to write your book themselves. You have to spend a lot of time reading and even more time fact-checking

If you don't mind, how old are you and how well educated are you?
1149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solar powered Bitcoin mining!? on: February 21, 2014, 07:51:59 PM
I've looked into the this.  problem is that solar is less cost efficient that electricity coming through your socket, most of the time.

Now, power generated by a water turbine, if you have access to moving water, is another story altogether.

there are a handful of different types of alternative energy, although I still haven't found anything that is more cost effective than power coming in through the sockets already.

could be wrong and if anyone has any bright ideas, I'm all ears.
[/size]

There is the very important issue of ecosystem impact of the turbines. In the Mekong river for example many people have and will fall into poverty (Because of damming of the river in many key parts, a physical barrier for fish and other such effects) as well as many rare species will disappear (including a dolphin species).

Look it up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC07S8QuSlw (Ruthless damming of Mekong river could displace millions)

Nuclear is by far the best option.
1150  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-14] Video - Watch This Man Confront CEO of Mt. Gox Over Missing Bitcoin on: February 21, 2014, 07:48:26 PM
Mt.Gox is clearly unable to work as an exchange, the quicker they fall to obscurity, the faster we can forget about all of this.

Honestly why would anyone store a significant amount of money with such an insolvent exchange is beyond me.

Anyone would have been (and still would be) better of with a blockchain.info wallet or even better running the full client or even storing their bits on an offline private key.

It's fair to say that this guy got goxed  Grin.

This guy only smokes the dankest reefer. Whatever that means and then posts.

In your reply to me you stated that I am the one that is try to prove a negative.

You cannot simply take anything as a given. You take the existence of your deity as a given.

You can watch this, and if you understand it, we can talk about logic

1152  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think cannabis should be allowed for medical and personal use? on: February 17, 2014, 07:18:55 PM
Why should it be illegal?

People should be able to do whatever they wish with their bodies. From a health perspective, THC usage has been linked with fried short term memory. It should be used carefully like most medications and warning labels have to be printed, just like for alcohol and cigarettes. If not on the package, the seller should have to inform a new client of the risks.

Once the client has been informed they can buy as much as they want. Smoke as much as they want. Shove as much as they want up their anus. Why should the state be involved?
1153  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 22 Messages From Creationists To People Who Believe In Evolution on: February 17, 2014, 07:12:36 PM
Evolution is a scientific theory. So it is testable, and observable under laboratory conditions. You can observe it in nature.

The second law of thermodynamics does not disprove evolution. The earth is not a closed system. The sun gives energy to the earth. Decaying radioisotopes in the earth also give it a lit of energy. The moons orbit also gives it some energy. Furthermore some energy is lost to space.

Most of those questions are really unintelligent. If any of these people were designed for today's society I'd say their brains were unintelligently designed.
1154  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are tons of people not knowing/getting what bitcoin is and how it works on: February 17, 2014, 06:04:44 PM
I gave a speech in front of my classmates during the summer about bitcoin.

Only one person new that it existed and new nothing about it.

It's weird isn't it?
1155  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: So exactly which part is illegal...? on: February 17, 2014, 05:56:07 PM
All these capital gains taxes seem way too greedy. It if were up to me everyone would be paying VAT on each transaction but no-nonsense taxes such as a tax to own property or to have capital gains.
1156  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Town: Let's Make the Future Come to us on: February 17, 2014, 03:54:18 AM
I just read the OP....

I'm an atheist so the church thing was my first red flag. Why not a community center.

All the YouTube videos are down.

This project may just not be feasible in the way that has been described. Maybe we can try for a bitcoin village first? I'd like it to be on a cave up high overlooking the sea. Maybe somewhere in Greece.

If only I had 1000 BTC.... I'd make it happen.
1157  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Atheism does not exist on: February 17, 2014, 03:24:49 AM
Atheism does not exist? I am an atheist. I exist. Therefore atheism exists. Atheism is the lack of belief in a god.

Welcome to the forum! Electronic currencies are awesome. I hope that one day I'll be considered an expert on the subject. Maybe a respected professor on the history and inner workings of cryptocurrency. I'm 20 years old.   As a Star Trek fan I'd like to say that this is the final frontier.
1159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is there such large differences in bitcoin price between exchanges? on: February 17, 2014, 02:39:10 AM
If you're referring to the "Gox" premium, it is because Gox is flawed.

It will probably die within a few weeks.

Sometimes there are fees on the USD side you have to deal with or trust issues. Each exchange also has it's own buys and sells. If the difference is big enough, people will naturally switch between the exchanges making the price similar. Sites that can't quickly send you the money will usually have a different price.

Person to Person seems to be having a higher rate than exchange to person.
1160  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: February 17, 2014, 02:10:02 AM
Cheap ticket time.....

I wonder if it will last only while Gox is dying. I haven't been current in my news but that may be the thing causing it. Once this is all over there is no telling where bitcoin will be.
